Got thru Circuit Max when I didn't think I could.

I did Circuit Max today. I'm so thrilled. I have always been intimidated by Cathe's cardio so I mainly did her weight workouts and the early step ones. I just didn't see how I would ever be able to do that high intensity cardio. Well today I did Circuit Max. I did have to modify down once in...

    Leaner Legs

I've done a lot of lower body tapes, but nothing gave me the results that doing Leaner Legs once a week for six weeks did. It's a very difficult workout, but it's effective. I did make one substitution. I can't do static lunges. They cause too much foot pain, so I did moving lunges instead. Also...

    Calorie Calculating Website

Is there a website where you can calculate the calories you need daily based on weight, height, age etc.? Can anyone post a link?

    substitute for leaner legs?

You could do MIS legs twice. On the second run through, I would substitute the tall box when Cathe does those back lunges off the step. When you save some money, consider getting Leaner Legs because it's the best endurance leg workout on video. It's worth the money.

Opinions of the "new" M&F Hers

RE: Opinions of the I think we need to write to the editors of the magazine. They may not publish our letters, but if they get a large amount of letters saying how disappointed people are, that should have an effect. I can live with ads if the rest of the content is good, but the new M & F...

Am I just too big for pikes?

Do you have a chair on rollers? Stand on your high step or any stool and lean forward and roll the chair in and out. If you feel too unstable, stand on the floor. This will approximate ball work to a certain extent. I found I had better control rolling the chair with my hands and keeping my...

PS SLA - torqued my knee?

I always use a dumbell or ankle weight above the knee on floorwork. I also get that sensation in my knee if I use a Body Bar, and the knee was not designed to support a lot of weight from the side. I don't want to risk injuring it, and you can rest a lot of weight on your thigh and get a good...

    Don't stone me but...

This routine really targets your glutes/hamstrings. You will get some quad work as well, but the greater emphasis will be on the back of the leg. Start with deadlifts, then do tall box step ups, then do plies, then do hamstring work with the ball. Do as many sets and reps of each as you feel...

    Large Calves

I win the contest. My calves are 17 in. They've always been huge whether I exercised or not. I could afford to lose about 30 lbs. but they would still be large. I don't even consider buying boots. I am extremely self-conscious about them, and almost never wear skirts. My knee joint is also very...

A great Cathe total body combo

I have to admit that the upper body portion of Body Max was often neglected. Because of time constraints, I just didn't get to it. The other day I found a way to use it. If you want another high rep workout to add to Power Hour, MIS, and Muscle Endurance, combine this workout with Leaner...

    Gilad

Hang onto that Gilad video. It's great to have something that's simple but still vigorous for those not so good days. Looking at Gilad will cheer you up immensely, and if you put your all into the last part of the tape, you'll get a great workout. BTW, Fat Burning followed by the Step workout...

    Bodymax!!!

I did this one today after a long time. I think it's the most comprehensive exercise video ever made. It has everything, including some entertaining choreography. You can do the whole thing or divide it up. I like that fact that it places equal emphasis on cardio and weights, and even manages...

Anybody go back to older vids a lot?

I still do MIC a lot. It took me so darn long to finally be able to do it that I'm not about to give it up now. LOL! I wish she'd come out with an updated version.

    Help for my nutty husband!

Just wanted to add my name to the chorus. Tell him that if these things worked, we'd all be using them and there would be no overweight people. Almost no one who's heading towards middle age and is sedentary, is going to escape gaining weight. That's just a fact of life. Underneath it all, he...

Question about sore achy heels and feet...............

I've been exercising for years and I can't work my legs hard two days in a row like that. Lunges are hard on the feet. You support all that weight with a bent foot. Impact is hard on the feet unless you have a special floor and proper shoes. You're doing all that work two days in a row. Also if...

    jumping jacks and/or MIC

You bet! Do you have arch supports in your shoes? Because your feet are flat, they're pronating inward and the achilles tendon and ankle have to work extra hard. That's why you're in pain. Make sure you have good shoes, good arch supports and that you take the time to really stretch your...

    Wow People are complaining

RE: Setting the record Straight I think I've seen every video that Cathe has ever made including the early ones. Yes, she did do low impact step in Cardio Step Challenge. She has done it before. For her own reasons, she chooses not to do it anymore, but to say that she has never done it is...

Do you think Cathe is a secret to the rest of the world?

RE: Do you think Cathe is a secret to the rest of the ... If Cathe wanted to sell her videos and DVDs through Amazon, she could do so. If she wanted to advertise in fitness magazines, she could do so. She doesn't, so I think she has enough business for her organization to handle, and makes...

    Anyone over 59 doing Cathe?

I'm 51 and do Cathe a lot. Granted, I had to work up to her high impact stuff, but now I can do all of it except some of the floor parts of MIC. I am careful. I don't do high impact every day, and if I feel a twinge somewhere I back off. There is no reason why you can't keep most of your...
