    I just want to cry!

I doubt you'll be able to change your mother. Keeping you on the defensive is one way that she keeps the upper hand, and she will try to keep it no matter what. Next time she says something like that, look her in the eye and say "I beg your pardon!" This sends the message that you will not be...

    Pyramid upper body exercises

I actually think CTX Upper Body is Cathe's toughest upper body workout. It is endurance oriented, but you'll get strength gains too.

    Core Max - First Pics

OMG! Did you see how they're suspending themselves. I can barely get through the ball work in the pyramids. How will I ever master this? Edited to add: How can they smile so much while they're doing this?

    High Step Training Beginner/ Intermediate

I think the step work in High Step Circuit is more interesting than in High Step Training. HST is all leg presses on the high step. HSC has a variety of lunge variations onto and off of the lower step. However, I think the resistance work is better in the advanced workout.

    Toughest Cathe Strength Workout?

I combine Leaner Legs with the upper body section of Body Max. This is, without a doubt, the toughest total body workout I've ever done.

    I am afraid of MIC!

I admit I cheated on the way to doing MIC. I substituted easier hi/lo workouts for the first half. I did NAC Interval Challenge and Gilad's Fat Burning workout combined with the step portion. Both of these workouts had impact, but not as much as MIC's first half. When I got to the point where I...

    Favorite Cathe Step Routine

Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of Cathe's step workouts. You'll probably buy all of them eventually, but right now I'd go with the latest ones such as Step Blast, Rhythmic Step, and Cardio & Weights (the dvd has a step only option). If you like to combine step and weights, then go with...

When the HARDCORE series is released, how would you like the workouts to be packaged?

RE: When the HARDCORE series is released, how would you... Actually, I think they should release each title individually and then do compilation DVDs separately. That way the mixes and matches could be endless. They could also charge for them and earn more money. I would love a compilation...

The blue one and the yellow one

I cannot for the life of me keep the titles High Step Circuit and High Step Training straight. The titles are too similar, so I have decided to distinguish them by color. The yellow one is the hard one and the blue one is easier, but still a lot of fun. If someone says HST, I don't have a clue...

    O/T:Very Personal-Dealing with parents

I'm so glad it ended so well. I just wanted to add that jealousy could be a factor here. We are in the prime of life while our parents are facing the fact that they're closer to the end of life than the beginning. Most of us have more opportunities than they did. They often feel that they...

    O/T:Very Personal-Dealing with parents

I think one of the best responses when anyone says something outrageous (even parents) is to look them in the eye and say "I beg your pardon!". It gets the message across that this is not acceptable without pushing them into a corner. We can spend a lot of emotional energy trying to make things...

I'm tired of trying to lose weight!

There's an excellent book called "Breaking Out of Food Jail" by Jean Antonello R.N. that you might want to read. I think it gives a lot of insight, and will explain why you're having a lot of these problems.

HELP! Burning shins when doing PLB lower body ball work!

RE: HELP! Burning shins when doing PLB lower body ball... Sabine, I'm not Cathe, but it sounds to me like you've got classic shin splints. You probably need to strengthen that area. Do you have Push/Pull? Cathe has you sit with the ball on the tops of your feet and moves them (your feet) up...

    Anyone remember Rock Bottoms???

I remember it. I used to own it at one time. Cathe's come a long way but it's still a good workout.

    Results from Body Max?

I generally do Body Max step and circuit on one day, and the arm and ab workout the next. I do this twice a week. Sometimes I will substitute the first two sections of Rhythmic step for the step section of Body Max. In between, I'll do yoga and Pilates.

    Need recommedation for beginner

If you don't have any equipment, there is a workout called "Fat Burning for Dummies" that gives excellent instruction on beginning aerobic moves. It's not very expensive and is available in discount stores. You could use this video until Cathe releases her new beginner workouts, which should...

Legs & Glutes: What kind of results

Another suggestion is to add another leg workout in by doing a combo leg and cardio workout such as the circuit section of Body Max or Power Circuit. Some also do the Circuit Max weight sections by working the lower body only, using heavier weights. This way you can get in another leg workout...

    Results from Body Max?

I'm just starting a Body Max rotation. I'd like to know if anyone has had results with this workout. I know I will increase cardio and leg endurance, but what about the upper body? Has anyone built muscle with this upper body routine? What about fat loss? I worry that it's I will only gain...

    Videos Like Pure Strength

Cory Everson did a set of videos a few years back called the Basic Sculpting Series. There are three videos divided into three workout days just like PS. Each workout is 30 minutes long. It's a great little series, but it's been out a while and might be hard to find. Back and Biceps Hips...

I need to thin out my upper body...

I would suggest doing a kickboxing workout with lots of punches followed by an upper body endurance workout. You might try CTX kickboxing followed by the upper body portion of Body Max or Power Hour.
