so many diets and workouts. which ti choose?

First of all, I hear your frustration. I completely agree that we need to be kind to ourselves. But when we work so hard we want to look good, too. It is important, however, to have a realistic view of what it is to look good. Balance is crucial, but very hard to find. For me, I want to...

    Kale 'reaction'?

I had a green recovery smoothie with kale after my Tabatacise workout yesterday. About 20 minutes after drinking it, I experienced a mild sensation like a flush (not really visible, but slightly warm and itchy) all over my body. Weird! Has anyone else experienced this with greens? It was...

    Reduction Woes

I know you can't "spot reduce", but why does fat have to come off the chest first and the muffin-top last? At 45, I'm sagging enough, thank you!

    Sugar-free gum?

What are your opinions on using sugar-free gum? Are the artificial sweeteners sabotaging my weight loss efforts? I go back and forth on this issue. I'll go long periods without using it at all. But I'm cutting and tracking my calories right now and those Extra Dessert Delights can really...

    Muffin top

I, too, would like a reply. I'm 45 with the same problem. I've been making a concentrated effort and have been VERY faithful with tracking both my calories and exercise. I've eaten perfectly clean for a month while on the X-Train 90-day rotation. I was averaging 1300 calories/day but had...

    X-Train Legs

Ow! It seems the more I do this workout, the more it 'gets' me--I guess because I'm able to go 'deeplier' and get into the moves more. I can go really heavy on legs, but I've never 'felt' the moves like I do in this workout. I'm really liking the light or no-weight effectiveness.

    Ready to Make Some Changes...

Good for you, Pam! We're here for you. I think most of the people on this Forum can certainly relate to the ups and downs of being able to take care of our physical selves. Kudos to your commitment. Keep us posted on your progress and what we can do to help.

    Brussel Sprouts....

Green smoothies and kale chips. I've tried it roasted, but must be doing something wrong, because I couldn't choke it down.

    Brussel Sprouts....

Gotta love big brothers! Soy sauce was grasshopper guts, and the dumpling casserole my Mother made was sheep's eyeballs. But we had a parakeet, so that would have been really traumatic.

    Portable meal and snack ideas?

My kids love beef jerkey, so that's a fabulous idea. And I think there are decent food options in the park (yea), but just trying to save some $$$ by packing some stuff.

    Recovery drinks

Great post! I'm anxious to read everyone's replies. You can experiment and see what works for you. I usually make a smoothie with water, whey protein, 1/2 small banana (or frozen fruit), and spinach (or kale). I'll have one before and one after my workout. You could also do just protein...

    Portable meal and snack ideas?

Could you share ideas/recipies for healthy, portable, non-perishable meals and snacks? Our family vacations usually include tent camping, so I've had full access to the coolers I've packed, and complete control over meals. This year is Disneyland, so things will be different. There is a...

    My Fitness Pal question

Thanks for your replies. Since I keep a written log and track in the Workout Manager, I don't care what it says, as long as I can get expended calories in.
