    Bridesmaids Dresses

It should be the bride's decision. While it's nice to listen to your bridesmaids' concerns and try to accomodate as best you can, it's ultimately up to YOU what they will wear in YOUR wedding. Don't let them make you feel guilty about that. Good luck! :)

    Foam Roller density ???

All the foam rollers I've seen (including my own) are pretty hard. If it's hurting you that much, trying easing up on the pressure you're using (don't put your entire body weight onto the roller at first - use your arms to support part of your weight). It shouldn't have you in tears! Also...

What is more cost effective? Repairing old tv or buying new?

OMG, you guys are so sweet!!! I think. :p I s'pose being a nerdy, geeky engineer is a good thing? ;) Becky, let us know what the Sears guy says if he comes out to look at your tv. And Catherine, it definitely helps to have a drink before reading my explanation. :D

What is more cost effective? Repairing old tv or buying new?

It helps a bit - it's a projection tv, we know that much. And given the symptom of the red shadow, it sounds like "they" call a convergence problem. "They" being television experts. This just means all your colors aren't being projected in the same path to the screen. Does it look like this...

What is more cost effective? Repairing old tv or buying new?

What kind of tv is it? (plasma, LCD, DLP, tube?) The reason I ask is because it could be something really simple, like needing a new bulb for a DLP tv - that's a quick and cheap repair that you could do yourself. On the other hand, if your LCD suddenly doesn't work at all, that's likely a...

    Arlington, TX??

Hey, I used to live in Arlington when I was but a wee child! :D So, no, I can't help you out on good places to live and stuff like that because I bet it's completely different now than it was 20 years ago. But we really liked it there - I'm sure you will too. Good luck with your move and...

    Why the time change??

Just remember folks, that we're not changing the time for Fall/Winter, we're UNchanging it. :) The last 8 months (or however long it's been) have been Daylight Savings Time, which has us set the clocks one hour later than the actual time. Now we're back to standard time. The clocks change...

    did you vote already?

I voted this morning before work. Got there at 7, was done by 7:15. The lines were short, but I live in a small town, so I wasn't expecting huge crowds anyway. They were saying on the radio that there people were waiting in line for 1.5 hours to vote in Peoria - yikes!

    who has been sick already

That is a myth. The flu shot is made from a killed virus - it cannot infect you when it is dead. Some people may experience a low-grade fever and some body aches after getting the flu shot, but that isn't the flu - it's just the body working to build up antibodies to the flu virus.

    Nice to meet you!

Fabulous idea! :D My name is Emily, although my friends call me Evily (there is a story behind that - I'm not really an evil person). I'm 30, married to a wonderful guy, and we have three silly cats. DH and I are both engineers. I'm a materials engineer, thus the name "materialsgirl", and...

    Should I feel insulted??

That is my problem too, Beavs! I have seriously considered volunteering at our local shelter, but I'm so afraid of coming home with a car-full of animals each time. :p I agree with everyone else - it's a liability issue for the shelter. I wouldn't take the "rejection" personally - they have...

    Wii games

Another vote for MarioKart!! LOVE it! :D I also really love WarioWare: Smooth Moves, but it does require movement and is kind of... well... strange. But I have a weird sense of humor and it totally cracks me up. :p
