    Totally Off Topic

{{{{HUGS}}}} Heidi! I had shingles several years back and unfortunately it wasn't diagnosed in time to help with an anitviral or pain medication. It was so out of the blue that I thought it was poison ivy at first (very painful poison ivy!) I totally agree with using a sunblock, my blisters did...

    Slim Series or P90X

I have Slim Series (& Slim in 6) & P90x. I have rotated Slim Series & Slim in 6 with Cathe's endurance workouts such as Power Hour, Muscle Endurance & Super Sets. I've also alternated Slim Series with Cathe's cardio such as the Imaxes, Rythmic Step, Step & Intervals etc. I've also done a...

    AJOCK!!

Sorry to barge in on this thread. But I have a question for AJock. I know that you're really small and was wondering where you buy your clothes. Thanks to Cathe (and some good eating) I am now wearing more size 2 petites and am having a harder time finding clothes that fit. Thanks for any ideas...

    Ringaling, Debbie H... P90X :-)

Hi Sandra! This rotation is slightly less cardio than I am used to. However, I have always found that weight loss is more effected by diet. From what I understand, latest studies show that you burn approximately the same number of calories weight training as with cardio. Also, by adding...

    Ringaling, Debbie H... P90X :-)

I am following my own hybrid P90x rotation. I have been substituting Kick Punch & Crunch for Kenpo. Here's what my rotation looks like now (I'm in my 2nd month.) 1. Core Synergistics & pull ups 2. Plyometrics 3. Shoulders/Chest & Tris & pullups & Ab Ripper 4. Yoga X 5. Legs & Back (or...

    power 90x

I found the first month's diet to be too low in carbs, so I went to the 2nd month. So far, I've lost 2 1/2 pounds and definitely gained some muscle. I feel much harder since I started and look leaner. (I'm just starting the 2nd week of the 2nd month.)I can't possibly recommend this program any...

    power 90x

RE: Kepi! Wow! This thread has taken on a life of its own! I am a diehard Catheite.....but, P90x is awesome! I can't believe how strong I feel after just one month. Although I will admit that I've substituted a few Cathe workouts along the way (I just missed her too much!!LOL). It was...

    power 90x

I am loving P90x!!! The plyometrics workout is really fun. Tony does 4 different exercises (the first 3 are 30 seconds and the last one one minute) and repeats them, then moves on to the next cycle. There are 4(?) sequences. Gosh, sorry I can't remember...but it is a lot of fun. It reminds me of...

    Bosu and Ab exercises ?

I do alot of ab work on my bosu. I am able to balance and lift my feet and legs (as well as head & shoulders) off of the bosu and balance while doing curls and oblique twists, legs raises, bicycle etc. You might be able to use your stability ball if you wedged it in somewhere so that it couldn't...

Update: Went to the dermatologist have a question??

RE: Update: Went to the dermatologist have a question?... I went to the dermatologist about 6-7 weeks ago and she gave me Tazorac for my acne & extra vitamins. (I haven't had acne in years and boy did it come on strong - it was truly horrible!!!) After two weeks my skin was actually worse...

    HDL levels and Lifestyle....

Oh Janice, I hear you! I have struggled with my triglycerides and cholesterol. My hdl has always been problematic. My doctor recommends a lot of cardio (which I do) and that I try fish oil capsules. She said that it hasn't been proven yet (but she thinks it will) that fish oil will help raise...

    Knee Pain from the Step?

If I use a step that is too high or just do too much step, my right knee starts to bother me. The only thing that helps is to lay off step for a week or two and then use only my 6" step. I try to vary my cardio with kickboxing and I find that this helps immensely. Good luck and I hope that your...

Slow & Heavy SHOULDERS question??? (form)

Hmmm...are you twisting your arms so that the triceps are up? Maybe you should focus on bringing your shoulderblades together instead of just your arms up. Also, ar eyour weights too heavy? Shoulders are delicate and maybe you should lighten up.

    CTX - Upper Body Split

You've gotten some great advice, Denise. I'd like to add that you may want to just lower your poundage until you build up. BTW, CTX is my favorite upper body workout. It's the one that definitely "popped" my delts. I was so proud, I kept flexing in front of the mirror! Geeky, I know!

    finally found 12 pound weights

I bought 4lbs & 6lbs weights last year. They are wonderful for the shoulder work in Pyramids. So, now I have the choice of 3,4,5,6 lbs. I'd really like 17.5 lbs - it's such a big jump from 15 to 20!

    Not eating at night?

I like going to be a little hungry, it definitely helps me to sleep better. However, I always wake up ravenous for breakfast regardless. I'm one of those people who like to eat earlier in the day and not as much in the evening. My theory on eating is that your body gets used to eating more...

    Bye everyone!

Hey DebbieH! I'll be leaving for Florida (Sarasota/Bradenton area) on Wednesay! And I'm also going to visit my family. I hope that you have a great time, and I hope that the weather is wonderful. After this COLD New England winter, I'm dying for the the warmth. Yikes, we're supposed to have 3-4...

    CTX question

I have the dvd and I usually do two body parts per day so that each is worked twice per week. I have seen great strength gains this way. CTX has been and continues to be a mainstay in my rotation schedule. It is just SO versatile and the cardio portions remain fresh & fun!
