I have a one liter drinking bottle at school. I set a timer for 45 minutes and then drink about 10 big sips each time. I can drink one full bottle that way. it's kind of cute because my students now remind me to set the timer and ask, "did you drink your water today'?
OK, is anyone besides me tired of having food practiaclly shoved at them from every direction this time of year?
I think one way to keep myself 'honest' in trying to improve my eating habits is to STAY AWAY from the foods that tempt me. But it seems everywhere I'm going these days, I'm...
I'm and ES school teacher and spend a lot of time on my feet, crawling around with little ones, dancing with them, etc.
When I can afford the Danskos, I'll treat myself to a pair, but I've found the Merrell Jungle Mocs a less expensive and comfy alternative. I have flat feet and bunions on...
Because I spend so much time outside with the horses, I was thinking about getting contact lenses that are darkened to behave like sunglasses. My optometrist told me to not bother because they're not as good idea as they sound like, but I'm also wondering if anyone here has experience with...
Ever since cancer, I don't use drug store stuff anymore because of questionable chemicals. I use Naturtint that I get at Whole Foods. It's a bit pricey, about $17.99/box but sometimes I can get it on sale. It has one chemical I'm not crazy about but I do like the color. If I have any gray hair...
Why does cleaning boogers off a wall sound so much more gross than cleaning cat hairballs off the carpet?
Thank heavens I only have to clean up after cats.:p
Yay!!!
The lady who brings her TWHs to our barn for lessons doesn't do any of that stuff either. No sense in insisting on the "big lick" if it harms the horse.
My trainer and I have decided our old age horses will be a gaited horses. Smooooth...
Is your gelding a TB, perhaps? ;) I've never found them to be particularly bright. Talented as the day is long, but not exactly bred for smarts.
For kind and steady (and ridiculously talented), get yourself an Andalusian!
Hee! You can lick it off, just don't stick your finger in the frosting and lick it off your finger. I use a spoon or fork. If I'm by myself, well, all bets are off!
Levi is a 12 year old gelding. He is half Friesian (dad) and half Morgan (mom).
He's an attention getter wherever he goes. I call him a rock star because he firmly believes that he is, in fact, King of the World and all chicks dig him and want to be around him.
It's funny because I was...
Now tell me you've never seen a handsomer man than this:

P.S. I apologize ahead of time for my position  (it's a bit bouncy but this guy's got a lot of motion in his ocean) :D.
I get flushed bright pink after exercise to the point where if I'm around other people I'll get asked if I'm OK even though that's just what happens to my skin. But I wouldn't want to be that pink all the time! People might think I'm getting non-stop sexxins!:p
I'm 45 and a religious user of sunscreen. I had a grandmother who died with melanoma so that ended the fun-in-the-sun nonsense for me!
Plus, I'm outside with the horses much of the time, so that also motivates my quest for an effective skin care regimen as my skin ages.
SPF45 for me, baby...
I thought the retin products are to help with anti-aging.
How do I know know I'm glowing? What does glowing skin look like? (I have a feeling it would be hard to find a picture of naturally glowing skin. Especially on a 45 year old woman. Without retouching or photoshop.)
I struggle getting...
I'm not a make-up junkie, I don't think. But this past summer I thought I'd splurge with a couple of products on the 'higher end' of the make-up counter. I purchased soem Estee Lauder "Illumination" serum and some of their foundation make-up.
I actually don't see any benefit to the make-up...
People think horses smell bad but they don't. They have an 'earthy' smell but it's not unpleasant. A little like leather, maybe? I think it's because they only eat plants (and a little bit of grain).
Now, horse poop? Yeah. Doesn't smell good. However, if you let it compost it makes a lovely...
Lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, my horse's muzzle, the farm after the grass has been cut, fresh hay.
Also, pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon air fresheners.
Clean clothes from the dryer.
Raindrops on roses, whiskers on kit-- (just kidding) ;-)
