Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Sandi, Thank you for the input! I'm taking Lola to the vet again in about 90 minutes, and I'll see if anything has changed since the last time, when they said she was 100% healthy. I find myself hoping that that is what it is!! I'm not sure Lola would love being in a room by herself...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

I'm glad you can show compassion to a cat but not a human being. You're right, a small part of me wants someone to tell me that I'm not the worst person in the world for considering giving her up. I think anyone would in my situation. I truly love my cat and I'm devastated at even having to...

Wow. Nice. Thanks for having compassion when I've repeatedly said that I'm completely torn up about this and I've been bawling my eyes out.

    Marriage-Dealing with religious differences

Janie, I think that you should stick to your guns. He is trying to make a huge decision that affects his whole family (socially, financially, emotionally, spiritually) and it seems to me that it would be the height of selfishness to pursue this knowing how you feel. I'm not a religious person...

Morningstar, I understand that pets aren't always what we want them to be. I have to tell you that your comment about fish being a better pet for me in the future sounds a bit condescending. I have a second cat who is fine and 2 dogs that are just fine. I take my responsibilities as a pet...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Kewl, Thank you for the input. I think this is partly what I was looking for-- validation that I'm not a bad person for feeling like I cannot deal with this anymore. :( (Who am I kidding? I'm still going to feel terrible regardless...) But it's nice to hear that there's someone (even if...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Dela, thank you for the reply. Yeah, we thought ripping up the carpet would help, but she still keeps peeing on the cement and now she's moved over to also peeing on the half of the basement that still has carpet (an area she never touched before). I would put some other flooring down if it...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

LastTango, I would much rather deal with pooping outside of the litter box!!! We have two large, uncovered boxes that are in a half-bathroom (in the basement) for "privacy". That half-bathroom is their own bathroom; DH and I do not use it, and the dogs are not permitted in the basement anyway...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Well, I highly doubt my child would be peeing around the house... I could diaper them, at least. And no normal person (without disability) ever made it to adulthood not being potty trained. This cat is an 8-year-old adult who didn't start this until about 5 years ago. I'm agonizing over this...

Do you use a BOSU ball?

What about trying a step-mat? The thing that is the size and shape of a step but it's just a mat. So you can do the same workouts, just on a flat surface? MC

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Linda, thank you for your kind words. I've been dealing with this cat peeing issue for about a year now at this place and about 6 months at the other place (and it's pretty much daily). I'm so stressed about this because if I gave her up, there's no guarantee she wouldn't pee in her next...

The addition of the dogs is the only thing I can pinpoint that changed for us, too, but they honestly all get along really well. In fact, the cat that is doing all the peeing is actually really affectionate with the dogs and will purr and do the head-rubbing against the dogs and lay right next...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Interesting... my dogs are never allowed in the basement. So the cats have free reign of the basement and aren't bothered by the dogs at all in my situation. And I've had them on the exact same litter the whole time I've had them, so I doubt that's an issue... *sigh* Thank you for the...

Kim, Thank you for your empathy... Actually, both cats are declawed, so I cannot let them outdoors or they might become victims of other animals or cars or something (which would leave me wracked with guilt). :( But I really appreciate your suggestion. Thank you. Yes, the cat pee problem...

Tough decision - advice? input? (long)

Fellow Catheites, I have two cats: Maya (10 years old) and Lola (8 years old). I've had them both since they were kittens and they're both rescues. I'm not a HUGE cat person, but I love animals in general and the plight of pets in shelters just tortures my soul. Maya, the older one, has...

    Did first Turbo Fire today

Pam, I didn't really love Fire 30 the first time I did it either. But I decided to try the 5-day Inferno rotation and that one has us doing Fire 55 EZ and Fire 45, and I LOVE those!! I'd definitely give each of them a 2-3 time chance before decided whether or not to send it back. The more...

Thanks, enablers... Turbo Fire will be here tomorrow!!

I'm so excited! The few clips I've seen make it look so awesome! I'm pumped for the upbeat music! :) MC

Came home, found my sweet baby kitty, dead

Oh, Govtgirl, I am SOOO sorry to hear about your baby. :( I cannot fathom how sad you must be! I am sure your baby loved and treasured every day that he was your boy. He was a lucky kitten to have you as a parent! (((((((((((HUGS))))))))) I am so very sorry for your loss.

Question for the technophiles - online document/file storage?

I fear my 7-year-old computer (yes, 7!!) is on its last legs. In order to avoid losing some very important documents and files that I have saved on my computer hard drive, I'm thinking about online document/file storage, simply because I don't want to transfer them to another computer and lose...

HELP! Question about renter's/landlord's notice of intent to vacate???

Hm... well, I appreciate your responses, but I've had leases in the past that end in the middle of the month, so I'm not sure the argument that she's responsible for the whole month is valid. I'm actually calling the Virginia Department of Housing to get the real legal response... Again, I...
