    Can't Tell Left From Right

Well, I know my left from my right because my fourth grade teacher slapped the inside of my upper arm when I kept screwing up her attempt to teach the class how to square dance. That was all it took to sear the difference into my mind. I hated that woman and think I still do.

    butt deflate

I had to go back and reread this because I thought you were saying that the good butt guy actually did have implants. I was saying to myself "Whaaaat??". On another sort of related note, could you imagine how much trouble a guy could get into if he bought a female coworker a fake plastic...

these office fundraisers are killing me

My daughter is heavily involved in dance and I do participate in fundraisers, but only when the product we are selling is so popular that it pretty much sells itself. The purpose of these fundraisers are not to teach my daughter how to sell stuff though. Rather, it is to help offset the fees...

    Thoughts on Pyramid series

I've had this workout so long and know PUB so well that I don't use the DVD when I do it. I agree with a previous poster who said that they don't like some of the back, triceps and shoulder work. Since I do this one without the DVD I substitute the following: For back I do single arm rows...

    Runners: when to Gu?

I usually don't use gels unless I am running for 2 hours or longer. My guess is that it's not that you need to eat a gel during an eight mile run, but instead just need to adjust to the endurance. I think you'll begin to feel stronger at the end of the longer distances as you continue to...

    Happy Friday!!!

As I was working my way through the animal pictures (all very smile inducing) I was wondering why you posted those rather than a pic of your baby girl! How old is she now?

To the top and back in a day

DH and I WALKED up the mountain! LOL!!! Walking felt like running though due to the lack of oxygen.

To the top and back in a day

Hi Judy! The hike definitely was amazing and three days later I'm still sore in my calves and inner quads. I think I'll be ready to workout again tomorrow, but will hold off on running until Friday. I ended up having surgery on the PF and have had zero problems with that foot since. I've...

Completed my first Half Marathon!! :)

Congratulations on your awesome accomplishment! I understand completely about filling your plate with future runs. There's nothing like a running goal to keep the focus sharp. I hope your kids won't be too dissapointed with Hawaii as a spring break destination.....

To the top and back in a day

This weekend DH and I hiked to the top of Mt. Whitney and back in one day! DH had hiked it twice before and he told me that it was tough, but tough is not the correct adjective to describe it. I have run marathons and so I can say that hiking to the top of Mt. Whitney was just as...

Freestyle Method Book up for grabs

I'm cleaning out my book shelves and listing some books on Amazon. One of the books I'm getting rid of is George Snyder's Freestyle Methods (A Revolutionary New Approach to Exercise for Women). It doesn't have and ISBN so I can't list it on Amazon. Rather than donate it to the library I...

What are your favorite things about the summer?

Where I live we get LESS sun in the summer. It's known as June gloom, but here we are in July and the marine layer is still there..... However, this does allow me to go outside and run at any time of the day without getting too overheated, so I love that about summer plus the regulars: -...

Please Read if You Wear Orthotics

I had PF so bad that it required surgery. The first podiatrist I went to gave me cortisone shots and then had orthotics made using the plaster method that Pam mentioned. My problem never even improved. I eventually went to a different (and better) podiatrist who operated on my foot. After...

New Runner - Need some tips

I totally agree that a couch to 5K program is a good plan to follow. I've been back to running for a little over a year now after a long layoff and started with that. I'm up to a 15 mile long run these days, so it doesn't take long to increase endurance. Also, one year ago my 5K time was...

New Runner - Need some tips

I would suggest that you get larger running shoes. I wear an 8 1/2 in my regular shoes, but a 9 1/2 in a running shoe. I have lost toenails before, but only after long distances with a huge net drop in elevation.
