    Newbie Ab Question and Thanks

Extra weight around the midsection seems par for the course as we age. Instead of doing core for the appearance, keep doing it for the other health benefits. A healthy, strong core just improves your lifestyle, period. Less back problems, and it supports you through all your other daily...

    STS 2.0 with lighter weights

You do what you feel is possible. That said, I echo what snowlover quoted from Cathe. "If it doesn't challenge you it won't change you". I think that's the primary purpose of this set is push to use heavier weights than what you typically stick with. That said, I'm sure following along with her...

Reviews for Body Parts in STS2.0?

I'm with you in that I will be starting the body parts only rotation in the next week. Excited to get started.

? on Glute Bridges ... barbell v dumbell

That belt looks intriguing but all I can think is that the dumbbells would be swinging around and pushing into my outer hips in uncomfortable ways.

    Splitting workouts on a Rotation

I think it would be fine if you're splitting up a workout where perhaps you're doing one body part in the AM and another in the PM. I just don't know how much my muscles would like it if I did say half a bicep workout in the morning and came back and did more biceps in the evening.

    Newbie Ab Question and Thanks

Utilizing Cathe's 12-week rotation, I've been tagging the core days on my recovery workout days (so if there's a yoga or mobility or stretch or even foam roller-type workout slotted for the day, I add on one of her ab workouts.) The nice thing about her ab workouts in this series especially is...

Sumo squats in STS2.0 Super Sets

I keep thinking a sumo squat is slightly narrower than a pile with toes pointed more forward, although I don't think toes forward is necessarily an anatomically comfortable position for everyone. Those goblet squats at the beginning of LB#2 really confuse me... is it supposed to be a sumo squat...

? on Glute Bridges ... barbell v dumbell

That's a good question. I wonder what the weight of the Db is that Jen uses in Giant Sets and LB#1 when she's demoing it. I don't have a barbell so only use my Select-Tech weights. They're not as "chunky" as the dumbbells Cathe and crew are using, and I do find that the edges start to dig into...

    Joint-friendly Heavy Weight Series

Thanks for the link to the DMoose gloves. I may have to consider getting some. I'm a bit torn right now between the benefits of all this heavy lifting improving my grip strength versus being able to go heavier without my forearms feeling like they're on fire all the time. I suppose I could get a...

    Joint-friendly Heavy Weight Series

Can you define what would be "joint-friendly"? ie: are squats, shoulder presses, etc. difficult on your joints? (I'm not at that age with joint issues yet, thank goodness - so just curious what kind of resistance training equates to joint-friendly.)

Hiccups between chapters in STS 2.0

@aqua girl I don't recall seeing them say anything about requesting we return the faulty DVDs. Just FYI.

Differences between STS 2.0 Lower Body 1, 2, and Body Parts Legs?

Oh! I didn't see she had the Mishmoshes in a particular rotation. I'll go check it out!

    Lower Body 2

I did this one including the bonus on Sunday. I felt like I'd hiked 8 miles at elevation by the time I was done. I was spent! Definitely a killer workout. I will say if you're going to do the bonus section, utilize the Premix option for it, because she throws it into the middle of the workout...

Differences between STS 2.0 Lower Body 1, 2, and Body Parts Legs?

I recall seeing that, too, Debinmi. I was also partially dismayed to be losing so many recovery days when we get to phase 3. But then that's just my natural lazy self getting grumbly about it. I understand that the majority of my other muscles are going to be resting/recovering when I just focus...

Differences between STS 2.0 Lower Body 1, 2, and Body Parts Legs?

I originally posted this to the "Newest/Upcoming" forum and wasn't getting any response, so I've moved my question here. I'd love some insights on this. :) Thanks! I was just noting that when we get to phase 3 of the STS 2.0 rotation that for lower body, Cathe just focuses on lower body as a...

Little cardio with STS 2.0 understood

Did Lower Body 2 today and I can attest that I didn't need any cardio for the day! I felt like I'd just hiked 8 miles at elevation afterwards.

MOVED to "Ask Cathe" Differences between STS 2.0 Lower Body 1, 2, and Body Parts Legs?

I've moved this to the "Ask Cathe" forum since there's not really been any response here. :) (original text deleted)

    STS 2 Results

My eating has been abysmal the last couple months. Really going to reign it in in July. Joining a wellness challenge group at my work so it'll help having some face-to-face accountability and enthusiasm there. I'm staying away from the scale and will mostly be assessing my progress with how my...

    STS 2.0 Upper Body 1

Finally did this for the first time today. I see an Aleve in my future tonight before bed, lol. I'm glad I have a massage scheduled for tomorrow, although I may be yelping at the masseuse if she gets too vigorous with my arms. Loved that Cathe offered variations. I ended up purchasing that door...

    STS 2.0 Lower Body 1

Wooooooaaaaah. Did this for the first time today. I think this is my first time experiencing those quad lifts with the stability ball on the shin/toe at the very end. My quads were having an existential crisis, lol! Loved the workout. I'm just really frustrated that my grip strength is really...
