I, too, have the black rubber mats that puzzle-piece together. I have them over carpet, so they don't move around too much. One thing I did to keep them together was to tape them together with wide clear packing tape on the underside. I have quite a large area, so I did it in two sections so...

My 15-year-old daughter wears her Sperrys with sweat pants. I cringe every time she does it, but that's what they wear! I myself wear an old pair of indoor soccer shoes (I think they're Sambas) that are black and low profile. Good luck finding something!! Paula
