    Needing some encouragement/motivation

I'm trying hard to lose body fat but I feel like no matter what I do I still keep gaining weight/body fat (not muscle). I'm perimenopausal, work 10 hr shifts at a stressful job and I'm usually too tired to workout before work and too tired to workout after work. I work in a lab so can't snack...

    Hair color and beauty question...

Getting my gray hair colored is getting expensive! What is the best hair color product out there for general overall color with lasting power? I am clueless when it comes to girly stuff, have never colored my hair before, never had manicure, and learned my basic makeup "skills" from a Teen...

    Incorporating Cathe & Running

Thanks for your reply! Maybe one run day could be longer steady state, the other day a tempo/interval/speed run. One of the HiiT days that I pair with lower body I'll probably do floor work which I've read is good for running.

    Incorporating Cathe & Running

I want to train for a faster 5K time (I am not an elite runner, just want to improve my own personal time, which is slow!). I can realistically workout 4-5 times per week. I have some knee issues so can't run multiple times per week so I know my training will take awhile, but that's okay...

    Pyramid Finisher

I made up my own Pyramid upper body finisher taken from ideas from Cathe's other workouts. I did the PUB Up only premix but after the 3rd set I did a "finisher" doing only a set of 12 but using the weight I used for the set of 10. For example for Chest Chest Fly/Chest Press 12 lbs x 12 reps...

    Some new workouts for me....

I just got my first two Essentrics workouts as well as 2 Tracy Mallett's FIT and her Pilates Sculpt (think that's the name). I'm on a quest for debulking muscular quads and working on flexibility. I have tried TA but don't care for her style and I get bored with yoga. Hope these help! Anyone...

Help me with a Yoga Rotation!

I love the way I feel after yoga, but I can't find an instructor or style I click with enough to make me do yoga more than once a month, sometimes less! As I age I really do want to become more flexible, and theoretically like the idea of doing less intense workouts, but I fear losing strength...

    Athletic Training or Afterburn?

If using gliding discs or frisbees on carpet, spray a little WD-40 directly on the disk and wipe off the excess, or spray some onto a paper towel and wipe the bottom of the disc. The discs will glide with ease! As far as it staining carpet, I have old ivory colored berber carpet and didn't...

    vitamin for women over 40

I started taking one called Post-Natal by First Response. I'm nowhere near Pre or Post-Natal, but it has alot of stuff in it, but not too much. The only thing the gummy version I take is lacking is Iron, but I'm a carnivore so that isn't an issue for me.

    Squats

I agree with what others have posted. I practiced with a broomstick! But, my form got much better when it dawned on me, that for me, Cathe's rep speed is too fast. Once I slowed down and made sure my form was good for every rep and was good with not thinking I had to match her rep for rep, I...

    Kayla Itsines

Cupcake, have you done a full BBG rotation? I'm thinking of tackling it, but possibly alternating with some cardio and some more targeted upper body training too.

    Kayla Itsines

I only have the workouts that I printed. I struggle with the food part too, but after so many years of following different food guides, I find it all boils down to the same thing anyways......portion control, increasing veggies and fruits and cutting back on starches, sugars and drinking more...

    Kayla Itsines

I have Bikini Body Guide 2, I didn't do the BBG1.0 b/c I felt I had enough of an exercise base I could just start with volume 2. I haven't done the program as is, but I do them to mix things up. They are much harder than they look! I like I can play my own music, can go at my own pace and get...

    Weightlifting Rotation

Cathe responded to a post a few months ago, it was more related to keeping your muscle base but helping to burn fat and she said to think of your "week" as 8 days instead of 7 days and to do 3 weight workouts per week as a split such as Gym Styles and alternate that with 3-4 metabolic workouts...

    Suggestions for barre workouts

Ambrosio, we seem to have the same tastes! My fav's are Cathe's Turbo Barre, P57, Suzanne Bowen's Barre Amped Bootcamp, Signature Sculpt from Ballet Physique (I don't own Amped Up), Tracey Mallett's Booty Barre plus Abs & Arms, Ballet Body's Upper and Lower workouts and another one that doesn't...

    Cardio decline

I feel the same way, but not everyone is the same as we all know. I have a co-worker that has always been active (just running and starting to branch out into weights about 10 years ago or so) but in the last 5-7 years or so she has upped her training and ran the Boston Marathon and completed a...
