    Quick Bootcamp Question

Hello everyone. Can anyone tell me what exercises the High Step is used for in Bootcamp? Thanks for your help!

Imax Interval Blast #8 -- I'm so discouraged!

You guys are right. I don't know why I expected to just be able to do it right away. I tend to forget that Cathe's workouts are advanced, and I'll need to work up to many of them. I feel less discouraged!

Imax Interval Blast #8 -- I'm so discouraged!

Thanks again for the encouragement and advice. I now plan on doing Imax once a week, and adding in some power scissors elsewhere, until I can do that darned interval. (Before I read your kind words, I was actually ready to shelve it for a while.) It is still hard to imagine actually extending...

Imax Interval Blast #8 -- I'm so discouraged!

Thanks for the encouraging words, everyone. Now I'm really determined to conquer that interval! (Even if it takes a while!) Thanks again.

Imax Interval Blast #8 -- I'm so discouraged!

Is this blast really hard, or is it me? (It's the blast where Cathe does alternating lunges in sets of four, two, singles, etc.) I have to start doing the modified (i.e., easier) version after about ten seconds! Did anyone else have a tough time with this interval? I guess I'll just keep...

    Floor aerobics

Hi Kassia. Does Cardio Kicks use a step and/or equipment for part of the workout? I'm asking only because, under the "Equipment needed" portion of the DVD description, it says you need a step, etc. I was thinking of ordering it for use when traveling if it doesn't require any step. Thanks!

    Sneakers

I recently started using Ryka Enlight IIs for step after having trouble with sore knees. I also added an insert and started using Thorlo socks (expensive, but good). I really notice a difference. My knees aren't as sore, and I have great support and "spring" when doing step. (I don't use...

Another "what would you buy next" question. . .

Hello everyone. I need some input on how to go about building my currently very limited Cathe collection. I try to do cardio 3-4 times per week and weights 2-3 times per week, with the goal of toning and just generally being in shape. (I generally alternate cardio and weight days -- no time...

    What Did She Say???

I know this is very childish, but when Cathe says, "I feel a blast coming . . . and it's a big one," in Imax (I think it's Imax), I always chuckle, because I think of, well, passing gas. As I said, I know it's childish, but I can't help but think of that!

Do I really need extra risers for High Step??

Thanks a bunch, Karin. I didn't even think to check Target.com, but I'm going to right now!

Do I really need extra risers for High Step??

Oops. I meant samsclub.com, not samclub.com. It's actually $59 if you add in the shipping and sales tax, but still a lot cheaper!

Do I really need extra risers for High Step??

OK, I'm convinced. I'm going to order the topper and risers. (Actually, I found it on Samclub.com -- topper with 4 risers -- for $46, so it's not much more money than buying the topper alone anyway.) Thanks for your help!

Do I really need extra risers for High Step??

Hello there. I'm thinking of getting a High Step, since Cathe uses it in so many of her workouts. I'm trying to figure out whether I can get away with just ordering the High Step "topper" and using my 4 risers, or if I should shell out the extra cash for extra risers. Anyone think having only...

    Most Unfavourite Move ....

I'm not too fond of the "scoop" and the "reverse scoop."

    Shoes, anyone?

Thanks to everyone for your input. It really helps.

    Shoes, anyone?

Hello. Can anyone suggest any shoes that work well for step and circuit workouts? I saw a prior discussion about this where many suggeted Ryka Enlight II, but I don't think you can buy those any more. I also wondered whether the higher top on some of those aerobic shoes get in anyone's way...

    Will my bench work?

Does anyone know if you need a high step for the Pyramid Lower DVD? I have a high bench (I guess that's what you'd call it), just like the one Cathe is shown using in photos from Power Hour and Slow and Heavy. I assume that would work, too, but I want to make sure. Thanks a bunch.

New to Cathe and seeking input

Thanks for the welcome and the input, A-Jock. I have a bit of work to do before I can do Imax2 comfortably, so I think I'll hold off on Rythmic Step and order one of your suggestions. I'll work up to Rythmic Step eventually. And thanks for the endurance/strength distinction on some of the...

New to Cathe and seeking input

Hello. My name is Deborah and I've just started working out with a few of Cathe's wonderful DVDs. I have Basic Step and Body Fusion, as well as Muscle Max, Low Max and IMAX 2. I'm planning on ordering a few more, but wanted some advice from you folks, who know her workouts so well. I try to...
