Amazing My 120 pound journey

That is inspiring.
I'm always astounded and amazed when people lose what amounts to the weight of an entire person. But also perplexed at how anyone can gain that much excess weight in the first place.

Good on him for taking things into his own hands and achieving his goals. An Ironman is quite a feat in itself.

Kathryn- when I was in my teens, I was very active, ate an extremely low fat diet, was a vegetarian, and I put on 10 pounds per year. They insisted on giving me antibiotics every time I went to the dentist, twice a year. The consequence was I became obese.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a connection between antibiotics and weight gain. Is it because of their affects on the good bacteria in the gut?

This is very inspirational and encouraging. Thanks for posting!

I love these forums and my fellow Cathletes...thankful we have each other to encourage each other to keep on being fit or going toward fitness.

I often wonder how some individuals get tonthose extreme weights myself. Now I'm not small by any means but I consider myslef an active person. I think it can be many factors that causes a person to gain weight like depression, medical problems, medication can cause a person to balloon because while it is easy to put on weight it can be very difficult to lose it.

Just my 2 cents :)

As someone who has gained and lost well over 100 lbs twice in her lifetime, allow me to chime in: one can easily gain such a big amount of weight due to depression and always being hungry (as was the case for me). I also know I have binge-eating disorder, with my occasionally getting urges to eat a huge amount of calories in one sitting (3,000+).

Wow, I almost cried watching that. Very inspiring. I just love seeing people take control of their lives and going and getting what they want.

Well I DID cry watching it! I am not one to ever cry easily so that's saying a lot! I've lost 60 pounds the last 11 months so I can sort of relate. What a fabulous video and story. Thank you for sharing it!
