Cathlete
Good morning,

I will do Insanity " Cardio Recovery" and weights today!

I will be back later to report my workouts!

Have a great workout and day, everyone!

Morning ladies. I totally felt like a truck ran me over this morning for no good reason at all as I had plenty of sleep last night. I have no idea why, only thing I can think of is the weather is just killing me, as is the darkness that seems to always be around. Ugh. I hate winter and it's not even here yet :(

I did, however, get a REALLY good back/bicep workout in this morning, going up in all of my weights for my last STS M2 workout. I got a really nice burn going in the back especially and loved that since sometimes I don't feel like my back gets a good workout for some reason. I followed that up with some weights and plates abs from Ab Circuits...though had a hard time with the plates part as usual. Ergh.

Belinda - good luck with Insanity today! I find it funny that they call it "cardio recovery" how is that even possible?

Happy workouts today ladies! Almost the end of the week, we can do it, right??

Hi ladies. Here's what I did yesterday at the gym. Warmed up for 10 mins on the elliptical then did M2D21 (with some changes). I didn't do band work, I added in the pullovers and I subbed low back extensions for deadlifts because I'll add deadlifts to my leg workout:

Pull Ups Overhand - 12 - 70# on assisted, same as last time, but feeling easier
Chinups Medium Grip - 12 - 70# on assisted, same as last time, but feeling easier
Chinups - 12 - 70# on assisted, same as last time, but feeling easier
Barbell rows - 12,10,8 (55#, same weight, said stay at 75%)
1-arm Row - 12,10,8,12,10,8 (double dropset) - 25,30,35
Pullovers (in lieu of deadlifts) 12,10,8 - 25
Low back extension on stability ball - 2x16

I finished up with about 25 minutes back on the elliptical (actually more like 22).

Oh, and I realized I totally goofed on some of the weeks and did Week 4 for some when it should have been week 3. Ugh.

Today I would LOVE to run. Supposed to be 50 degrees, but it's incredibly windy. I just want to try 2 miles. we'll see. If not legs after work or I may finagle a way to get in workouts tomorrow and take today off.

Nora - ouch on the bruise. Sorry to hear you're still feeling fatigued.

My vote is to avoid working legs just in case it ends up making the injury worse vs. allowing it time to heal. When I went through a similar injury like that, I basically stopped all leg work in addition to running and found that that worked best.

If you DO run, I'm glad you are promising only 2 miles like we discussed. Hang in there - you're getting there, I promise!!

I've only worked legs once in almost 3 weeks though :( I feel like I should at least do some leg work??? And timing is all messed up - warmer today then cold again over the weekend (when I know I should wait and run). Freaking stupid cold weather. I just can't stand doing boxing or elliptical again this week. And there aren't any other spin classes I can get to either. Yep, I'm whining.

You can whine anytime, we'll listen :)

I didn't work legs for weeks and weeks either - but trust yourself, you will not lose strength with a few weeks off. If you MUST do some leg work, maybe make it floor work so you're not putting weight on your knees??

I hear you on timing - I am itching for a run this weekend but soonest I can go is Sunday when it may snow. NOOOO!

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is GS Timesaver 2 but I might do 1 instead last night my knees and hip were really aching had a hard time sleeping couldn't get comfortable. It is gray and gloomy here today.

Belinda-nice workout yesterday.

Jess-good job with your workout.

Heather-take it easy you don't want to do more damage.

Well, my computer finally crashed today here at work. I don't have time to write up my workout but I worked my legs. I'll report what I did tomorrow.

This is going to be a fun day....

Debbie - I have no doubt you had an awesome workout. I hope you worked those legs a bit extra for me! :D

Total calories burned= 685

I gotta run to my appointment but will be back later for personals.;)

Hugs to everyone!;):)

DH and I went for a run at lunch. It's sunny, 50 degrees & super windy. So the wind part sucked but the run itself was great. We did 1.9 miles in 14:20. Super fast, but it felt really good. I rolled my IT band as soon as I got back to the house and so far so good!

I was thinking of leg weights today, but am rethinking that since I ran.

Nora - hope all goes well at your appt.

Hi Girls!!

I did some Christmas shopping this morning and then came home and did Turbo Fire 55 EZ. O.M.G. , freakin LOVED it!!! You guys NEED to get this workout if you don't have it. Seriously. Heather, you need to ask Santa for these!!

Belinda: Enjoy your recovery day!

Debbie: Crashing computers SUCK! But you got your workout in! :)

Heather: YAY for the run and the 50 degree weather!! i was tempted today (it's sunny, in the 30's, which is WARM compared to the last week!). But I was afraid of my calves pulling.

Roxie: Hope you have a great GS workout tonight!!

Jessica: Hope you feel better! I truly need the sun to make me a happier person. NICE job on last week of Meso 2!!!

Nora: Hope things go well at your Neuro appt. Sorry you got hurt the other day :(

And where is our friend, Melissa? anyone hear from her?

Chris - I tried telling DH about them, you should have seen the look on his face - like "do you seriously need one more workout dvd??!!" Sigh. How are the calves by the way? Still tight?

Heather-tell DH you can never have to many workout dvds. Variety is the spice of life.

So glad you didn't have pain!! I agree though, go with your gut on this one - avoid the leg workout tonight. You can thank me later ;-)

Good Evening,

Tonite I decided to do MM Upper Body premix and my arms are shaking.

Stats:
43 min
24 in the zone
115 min hr
148 max hr
199 cals burned.

Hi girls~;)

I'm back for personals. Everything went well at my MS Neurological visit I have to have every six months or if I'm having a relapse before that. I haven't had any new relapses for four years and no new activity on my brain or spine MRI as of 2009 MRI. My new neurologist was surprised that I'm doing so well that my MS is not at all noticeable upon seeing me in person. He was stunned at my blood pressure which was 123/60. He asked if I worked out and I told him yes, infact 6 days a week. I told him I do cardio in the form of kickboxing, step, or HiiT and I do strength training with weights as well 3 times a week. My doctor was more than impressed he was dumbfounded and said he doesn't even do that and he doesn't have MS. He asked if I workout at a gym or something and I told him no I workout with Cathe at home and filled him in on Cathe. So, I'm counting that doctor visit as a good one. I was happy to know my blood pressure numbers were very good.

Belinda- Glad your enjoying Insanity and did Cardio Recovery and weights today. I know if anyone has not done Insanity that sounds strange but Insanity is truly Insane. Just the warm up is a pure sweatfest and the fit test is a HiiT workout in and of itself. It truly kicks your butt, I know because I've done one rotation of Insanity. I say bravo for you and way to rock your workout girl!;):)

Jessica- Awesome job on even going up in weights for back and Bi's on the last Meso 2:eek:;):) WTG! I'm so happy for you on your increase in your weights, I know STS really shocks me at how much I was able to improve each time I did it. So, far that's 2X for me. STS Total Body Phase 4 is truly in the same tradition of excellence in my opinion as STS. Its da bomb! That's coming from someone that didn't lift weights at all six years ago and that predates my 4 years now with MS. Excellent workout today, Bravo on your efforts and awesomeness in general. P.S. not getting a christmas bonus for all your hardwork and crap you've put up with there, sorry but that sucks what a bunch of jerks. I'm so happy you are moving on from that place on to a much better work place and people. You go girl!;):D

Heather- Please becareful not to overdue it rehabbing your injury. I know you are careful but it doesn't hurt to be vigilant to give your injury time to heal and feel better. Great workout today:)^^^5's!;) ^^^5's on your lunch time run;) I agree with Roxie you can never have too many workouts or Bare Minerals. LOL!! Words to live by!:p

Roxie- Take it easy on the GS Timesaver workout tonight and maybe do a nice stretch for KCM boot camp after to make sure things are loosened up and not hurting to make you more comfortable. Have a great workout later and be sure to stretch out good after. :);)

Debbie- Sorry about your computer at work crashing, that's no fun. I have no doubt that you kicked but on your legs today. You are always such a workout amazon and always helpful and inspirational. You rock girl~:D
I'm confused now, I see you said in a more recent post that you did MM upper body premix, either way that's still awesome. Yay on arms feeling like they are shaking from a great workout, awesome job Roxie WTG!:)

Chris- WTG! You did my #1 favorite Turbo Fire 55EZ workout, I love that workout and Turbo Fire is tons of fun and da bomb for super fun cardio with little to no equipment. If you like Chalene's "Turbo Jam," and Kickboxing you will love "Turbo Fire.":) Heather, Melissa, and Belinda this means you guys.;) Bravo on getting some Christmas shopping done this morning. I haven't started yet, no money so that makes it considerably easier. Oh well, that which doesn't kill me, makes me stronger right.

Ok that's it for me today. I went to bed at midnight and got up at 6 am I'm exhausted. I have no doubt I'll sleep well. See everyone at tomorrow's check in. Have a great night.

Hugs to everyone! Hi extra shout outs to Melissa and Jolene hugs and where are you guys? :);)
