Butts and Guts

I did it...all of it. I have only ever done the 30 minutes premix for B&G because doing all 78 minutes scared me - I figured I wouldn't be able to walk for days. I'm doing the September rotation (started late) and just decided to bite the bullet and do the workout. It was fine. I did really well, maybe not the outer thigh raises but really well nonetheless. Yay me!

I own lots of Cathe dvds and still haven't done MIC and MIS.

So my question is this, does anyone fear a certain Cathe workout? What motivates you to finally try the dvd?

I'm hoping we can cheer each other on and push ourselves out of our comfort zones.

Way to go! Woo! I love me some Butts & Guts.

The only Imax workout I own is Imax 2, and I was afraid of trying it for the longest time. When I finally did it, I loved it!

Good for you !!! hi! i love b&g also, hadnt done it a a little bit so the last time a did it. i had a hard time getting up and down for a few days :D
oh my  i fear HIIT and CCC but I"m getting fit and that what keeps me going. I tried hiit 40/20 with lots of modifications and my oh my talk about getting close to the losing my cookies factor a little :p

i just ordered hardcore series both arms dvds so excited about those !!!

Well right now B&G is scaring me, mainly for the same reasons you mentioned. I did Bootcamp yesterday as was worried about that too, meaning I wouldn't make it though. I did it and it was fine, now granted I did have to modify a couple of things but I figure that as long as the heartrate is up then I'm okay.

IMAX2 and 3 worry me because I don't have the stamina yet for them, but one day I'll just suck it up and dive right in :)

First off, good for you! That's a great feeling! Yay You!

I don't fear any workouts, but there's a few I don't do yet because they just would take my HR into the red zone too many times and it's not where I workout. Drill Max (parts is parts on this), Imax 2, still has plyos & other moves that are above my level, the end of Step Blast.

One move especially gets me, squat - spin - squat, that requires much more leg strength & power than I have. For all these it's leg strength & cardio endurance that keeps me from doing them (total length) not fear, even though I laugh a lot about "killer" workouts, no, no fear, I get great workouts doing as much as I can do.:)

plus side....vertical jump has increased by about 3-4 inches, yay me!

Awesome job!!

I know I have had fear before doing some workouts and there are plenty workouts I own that I have not done (any of Terminator or Hardcore Extreme) partly for fear and partly because I didn't know how to work them in.

This probably sounds crazy but I recently went through some older rotations and specifically chose rotations that used the workouts I had been steering clear of (Terminator and Hardcore Extreme :p). I haven't gotten to those workouts in the rotation yet (Hardcore Extreme comes up next Wednesday though).

I figure if I choose a rotation that has a workout in it, I am doing that workout no ifs, ands, or but(t)s about it!

My other thought before doing a workout that I might fear is that I can only do the best I can. If I have to modify, oh well, at least I did something. If I have to take a breather, that is better than not doing any of the workout at all and I will just add on what I can at the end to make up for it.

Plus, I always remind myself that after doing a workout I "feared" it was never as bad as I imagined in my silly little brain!

Congratulations on getting through Butts & Guts! That one is a toughy (especially the floor work IMO-the sides of my booty hurt for days afterwards:D)!

MIC

I haven't yet finished all of B&G - I only got it 2 weeks ago, and couldn't believe how tough it was! So, congrats on finishing it all the way!! That's my new goal too.

So to answer your question, I "fear" MIC - but its a good fear. I know that I can finish it, and usually the dread factor is in my mind (once I get started, I feel good and confident that I can make it through). Its just very long, so I usually save it for the weekend when I have more time. And yes, tomorrow is my MIC day... :)

The only thing I fear is clowns. If Cathe dressed like a clown for a DVD, I would be scared of it. Otherwise, bring it on, pretty lady!

BTW - B&G is my FAVORITE workout! It would be too long, I think, if it wasn't broken up into standing and floor work. The ab work is excellent.

Butts & Gutts is one of my absolute favorites! I do it quite often.

For me, the most difficult part is the length. 72 minutes is a long workout DVD in my opinion. I can pretty easily get through it, but by about 60 minutes my mind starts wandering and thinking of all I have to do that day! :p

Congrats on getting through it!

Congratulations!

Doing B&G all the way through is amazing. I love the flow and energy of the WO. It's a fav of mine for sure. SCARED of what??? mmm..well 40/20 at first but not now. I did terminator "Gauntlet" today and forgot just how it is so perfectly sequenced for such excellent cardio. What I like about Cathe's WO is that you grow stronger and have more endurance. I'm almost 54 and can still keep up. I do modify for squat thrusts though. She's the best IMO!

Hahahaha, clowns totally freak me out too! If I were Cathe, now I'd make sure to dress up like a clown for Halloween and film a 1-minute prank workout segment. Or maybe for April Fool's, debut it on the website as "sneak-peek footage" - I think I'd die laughing.

I agree, the abs in B&G are amazing, the bonus stability ball abs is my all-time favorite, though there's nothing wrong at all with the abs in the main workout either. B&G is one of my all-time favorite workouts.

MIC isn't so bad. Really, you can do it!

There are Cathe workouts that I fear and don't have. BG is one of them, body max or body max 2 both have a fear factor because of the length. 90 min? yikes. I need a snack. Imax 3 scares me.

You're all so wonderful, friendly and motivating.

Some of you mentioned other workouts I find intimidating (CCC and Hiit) and fear but I guess it is mostly mental. I don't realize how strong I've gotten this past year and a half until I try the dvd and surprise myself. Maybe I'll incorporate a new one every week?!?

I was overweight for so long that I can't believe I can do these workouts now that I've lost the extra weight thanks to tracking my food, Cathe 6 days a week since March 2009 and lurking on this forum.

Big congrats on the weight loss Molasses!!! Way to go!!!! high five high five!! Cathe helped me to now Im hooked, down 35lbs# so far :D. I might have a new fear dvd I did most of cardio fusion today for the 1st time and holy cow was that hard!!!!!!! I might accidently have to hide it somewhere? keep it up! ! !
