Lurker's Invitation November, 2009

Yesterday I thought was Sunday for some reason and took it as my rest day, so today(Sunday), will take an active rest day, and do an easy step workout. Tomorrow (Monday) I'll do a Meso. I'll tell ya, when you are retired the days just kinda run into each other. Or is it a brain fart?:confused:LOL Also, I've been more active since I've retired than ever before. Who knew!:D

Thank you all for the motivation on continuing with the book. I plan on working on it in hopes that in Feb./March/April sometime I will be able to send it off. There are so many distractions this time of year. Have to go through the holidays, then we have a trip planned to go to Las Vegas to visit our doctor son in January and spend a couple of weeks there, then want to visit Utah for a couple of weeks and pick up some more dinosaur bones before we head back home. Also we will be going home driving up the coast, so we have to stop in Oregon and get some more black message stones for the yin yang that Joey made in our yard. Then of course I have a 16 day cruise in April. Sounds like I'm procrastinating, but I'm not. I'll get it in for sure next year (2010) hopefully during one of those months. I'll work really hard on it in-between life. I won't have to look back and wonder.

Michelle, Oh I love leaner legs, such a great workout and talk about DOM's later, OUCH! It works.;) Continues to rain here, and love that while I'm in the hot tub soaking. Have to love life for it's little pleasures. Enjoy your boat tonight, sounds wonderful, even if it's rainy or nice. Oh, that sounded like a Santa Claus thing didn't it.LOL:D

Laura, Good idea to rest, you are a smart cookie. Jeesh, I hope you feel better, colds seem to just hang on for dear life. Gargle, use the neti pot...do whatever to once and for all get rid of that nasty virus.

Very glad to hear you're going forward with your book, Janie! And there's nothing wrong with setting Feb/Mar/Apr as a goal. If the average publisher's office is anything like our office, it's safer to start new discussions after the holidays are over anyway. So many things get lost, or postponed, or lose momentum this time of year. So funny about how days run together - it feels that way during vacation times, for me. Enjoy your second Sunday :)

Haven't decided yet on today's workout. It's supposed to be interval cardio - Insanity, Mindy, Jillian, Jari, or one of those. But I might decide to try out one of the new barre workouts instead :D

Monday morning I'm off again, by the way. This time I will be back a little earlier on Friday - midday rather than midnight.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Well what do you know! Today turned into another rest day for me! Two in a row, this better not become a habit. I did CleanMax all day and just on the up stairs of the house! It is cleaner than it has been in a long time and it really needed it! So it feels good to get it done, the upstairs doesn't get cleaned as often as the downstairs for some reason. I wish I could have gotten the whole house done, but oh well...I exercise so much durning the week that I am not stressing out about missing my workout. Life is about balance right? And lately it seems I exercise instead of doing the things that need to be done around here! Nice to have laundry all done and put away, clean beds and sheets, mopped floors! Now if it could only stay that way for awhile....

Janey: sounds like you have a good strategy set up for your book. I am glad you are pursuing it, especially after all the time and energy you have put into it!:D how nice to have two Sundays! Wish I had one more coming tomorrow, maybe I could get the ground floor cleaned as well!

Shadowpup: so what did you decide to do for your workout>? Hawaii, man I am jealous, even if you will be working hard! It snowed all day again here, and the idea of a tropical island sounds mighty nice! We have had a large amount of snow already this year for it not even being officially winter! We have had several very large storms, and then warm weather melting it in few days...

Michelle: I have heard about Meaner legs for awhile on the forums. It must be a classic! I thought you put the boat up for the winter already? Maybe I am confusing you and Shoegal's boats...I do remember a discussion between the two of you about winterizing so maybe that is where I came to that idea.

Shoegal: Where are you? Hope everything is ok and you are having a fun filled weekend!

Hello!!

Friday turned out to be a surprisingly busy day - had to get some things done usually due on the 15th - but since the 15th was on a Sunday I had to do them early. Left work and DH and I stopped in the city at this little eclectic place he used to go to many moons ago. He showed me a stained glass sign he made that pointed to the Ratskellar - he seemed very proud. Met an old friend of his there and made some new ones. So we had a lovely time.

Saturday we went to the German Christmas Market - I just have to say - that YES - the entire time Michelle and Shadowpup were commenting on their weather - the sun was shining in Pittsburgh. We have had just absolutely outstanding warm weather all week long - the weekend was no exception so the German Christmas Market which was held in historical Harmony PA was just a huge success. Our weather is not often exceptional so just thought I'd mention it. :D Bought some wine from some local wineries there - and was dying to buy something Christmas but didn't find any thing.

Janie - I would buy your book too - I would love the soap as well - just a sample to see & use in person - that would be a treat!!! I'm very fair skinned - but it is not really sensitve or dry - normal (whatever that is??). Glad you are feeling better and that you have the medication all worked out!!! It sounds as if you are putting in some good workouts too!! I agree that you should attempt to get your book published - you have nothing to lose - all of your hard work shouldn't go to waste - a web site would be wonderful as well.

Shadowpup - seems as if you are slowly getting back to your old self. I would be working out too - I tend to feel that sometimes a good workout knocks out the sick in my body. I'm not sure if that is the case - but I know that it does help to clear my head - and I like to feel the blood rushing through me. Oh my God - enjoy Hawaii!! That is the way to go!! My DH has been there several times for work - I would just love to go. One day I hope.

Michelle - wanted to ask what weight you used for the leg presses in Leaner Legs? I used ten pounds - I found this very difficult!!!! When I worked out with the Firm - it wasn't uncommon to use 10 for leg presses - or higher!! Cathe tends to go really light for those and much faster. I was feeling all achey and I hurt head to toe on Sunday - I came home and did Leaner Legs and I felt much better.

Laura - It is not easy to find a Pilates studio close to my home. I type in Pilates and I get Yoga this and that - it is not one of the same, right? I found a Yoga place in Harmony and I was going to check them out and ask some questions. Unfortunately - I got sidetracked and didn't make it there - it didn't seem as if they were open very often, though. :( It would be easier for me if it was in Butler and not Pittsburgh. I cleaned too!!! Yes - it certainly feels good to get the sheets changed and everything tidy. My DH was waiting to leave and I told him to sweep the carpet downstairs and I would get ready to go while he did that. He looked at me with this blank stare - then said, "Me?" Can't complain - he does alot of other stuff I can't do so it evens out. It is just funny though.

Hope you all have a nice day!!:)

I enjoyed my rest day yesterday, but was back to the exercise this morning with 4DS Higher Intensity Workout. I was wishing I had another 30 minutes to run through the cardio portion just to get it down real good, but alas--no extra 30 minutes to spare, so I pushed on with the weights. Now, I'm not sure why but the chest part of this workout seemed easier. Uh-oh--does that mean I have to push my weights up? Probably does.

We had a real nice weekend on the boat. The sun and blue sky returned yesterday and it was just glorious. November 15th, 72 degrees and I was wearing shorts, a short sleeve shirt, and in bare feet. Love it. Today, it is supposed to only get up in to the 60s.

Laura: glad to hear you had two good days of rest. It will be interesting to see how your body feels this week. Better, I hope.

Shoegal: I used 10 pound dbs on the leg presses in leaner legs. The first 2 sets, I was thinking, wow--I can't believe I'm not struggling. Then Cathe did the 3rd set and the work kicked in, but I kept good form throughout.

Janie: Sitting in the hot tub while it's raining is great. We really need to fill our tub up for the winter and use it. We don't like using it in the summer--too hot. But love it in the winter. Okay--sounds like you've got a busy schedule coming up, but I'm glad you are going to give a publisher at try with your book. That's great.

Shadowpup: we will miss you this week. Work hard and we will "see you" on Friday.

Hope everyone has a super Monday.
~michelle

Today Joey and I did Meso 3 week 1 disc 27 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. I love doing this one, seems I grow and use heavier weight every time. Love that!

I'm serious you all, if you want soap for Christmas, you need to PM me and give me your addresses so I can send it. Let my know what type of skin you have.

Deborah, I did enjoy my second Sunday!

Which ever workout you did, all the above are great.

I think today since it is rainy the hot tub is getting cleaned, I'll work on my book.:) Your encouragement means a lot to me.

Safe travels, and will hear from you on Friday or Saturday sometime.

Laura, Why did you mention CeanMax? Now I need to do some. We are having Christmas here and by the time I'm done, maybe I'll be ready. LOL:eek:

Don't worry about having two days of not exercising. It's alright to do that. In fact sometimes it's a really good idea to take a week off. That's what I'll be doing after this vigerous month workout I'm doing. But, it will be an active rest week. Cardio, steps, treadmill...but for only about 30 min. a day.

Thanks for the encouragement about my book.

Shoegal, Your DH does stain glass windows? OOOO, I'd love to see some pictures of that. I've always wanted to try them, but just never got to do it. Too busy with other project. Glad you had a good time at a place where your hubby went many moons ago. You deserve it.

Do enjoy those fabulous days during the Fall. I can just see it in my minds eye. Sounds so beautiful. The German Christmas Market, I would have loved to have gone. I bet it was so cool. You didn't find anything for Christmas? Hmmmmm:rolleyes:

Just PM me and I'll get a bar out to you as soon as possible. Do let me know, no matter what, what you think of the soap.

I'm really up on continuing the book. Thanks so much for the encouragement.

Michelle, Yes, it means to push your weight up. Congratulations on that.

Shorts? Shorts? For Pete Sake. You are so lucky to have that kind of weather in the Fall. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Well, thanks to you guys, I may not have given it another try. Thanks for the encouragement.

It's so nice to have friends like you,

Janie

Howdy! Back on track on Monday! Already taught one of my classes, two more left to do! Eliza has a bad cold so they are staying home, right now they are running around in the snow, we had another snow storm over the weekend and have close to a foot of fresh snow. It is warming up now and the ski is a beautiful blue with the pine trees covered in snow. It is very beautiful indeed.

Shoegal:sounds like a fun weekend!:D Yoga and Pilates are different, similar in some aspects, but completely separate in others. I know, depending on what is wrong with your back, that some Dr DON"T recommend Yoga for back pain, but they do recommend Pilates. I think it has to do with the type of situation you are dealing with....I can't believe you can't find a pilates studio near you. I know two people in PA that teach Ron Fletcher Pilates but I doubt they are near you. Where are you again?

Michelle: good to have a day of rest on a boat, in shorts and bear foot! Now that is what I would call relaxing! Two days of rest and I am feeling tired still! Must still be fighting off that cold my daughter has....a little post nasal drip and that is about it....

Janey: Seriously that cleaning thing never really ends does it? It feels like I start on one side of the house and by the time I get to the other side of the house I need to start over!! I guess that is the way with young kids, one big hairy dog, 3 cats, a working man husband, fire place living, and a dirt road! YIKES! A mommy's work is never done is it??? Good job on the workouts by the way. What do you think of Insanity? You have mentioned several times about modifying, do you still get a good workout?

My shoes arrived - I tried to hide them from DH - but he caught on really quickly. Oh well. I needed them - I swear!!!:eek::eek:

I did HIS last night - seriously I just absolutely love the step routine in this workout - like I said last week it just goes by way too quickly - and I want more!! I also found the chest portion to be easier believe it or not. I was doing flys with 15's and I was thinking - gee this was way too easy - so next set I picked up 20's - then I felt I was working it.

Laura - I'm about an hour north of Pittsburgh in Butler County - it is near the town of Butler but I'm actually in Conquenessing. Conquenessing post office won't deliver to us so we have to go through Renfrew's post office to get mail. So we don't live in Renfrew but our address says that. That is probably too much info. Well - the search for a studio is still on - we just got an Applebee's so a pilates studio has to be coming soon!!! Wow - snow there - just can't get over it. It just seems as if the summer flew by.

Michelle - you're description of your boating sounded fabulous - yes - the shorts - bare feet - oh my - I just love warm weather. I enjoy the changing seasons though - the fall is always so lovely here.

Janie - I'm excited that you are back at work on your book and that you are enthusiastic about it. I am also excited about the soap. You have me eyeing the soap I have suspiciously - I'm thinking this can't be good for me - I don't need anything else harmful to my skin around here!! Good job on the workouts -sound intense - Joey doing them too???

WEll going to go - I was thinking on the drive in that I have so much to do today - got to get going. :)

First, I just have to say, what a great group. I can't imagine more than a day away from this forum. Thanks Janie for bringing us all together.

This morning was 4DS Kickbox. I'm just loving kickbox these days. I guess it has grown on me. It just seems to go by so fast. And I like the leg and ab work in this workout. Some different exercises. I used the 25 pound db this morning on the plie squats (the ones where you plie, pick up the db, plie, set it down) and felt like I could go heavier, but I don't have 30 pound dbs. Good thing Christmas is coming. My husband just groans when he sees my "wish list." Next time, I'll have to add the plate mates to the 25 pounder. Who would have thunk?

Shoegal: what kind of shoes? We haven't had a shoe report from you in ages. Hope you enjoy Kickbox today. I think this one has a little more fun factor in it than the Cross Train Xpress kickbox. What do you think? I may be trying 20 pounds on flys next time around too. Crazy, crazy.

Janie: the offer of soap sounds so tempting. I'm looking forward to doing STS next year. I'll have a reference when you and Shadowpup talk about it. It sounds like fun.

Laura: cleaning definitely is the never-ending chore. Hope everyone out your way, including you, is feeling tip top soon. Do ya'll have a snow blower? A plow? All that snow, it seems like you might have one of each.

Hope everyone has a super day.
~michelle

Well today I have done the P90X Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps and the Ab Ripper (15 min) and I am waiting for a friend to come over for a quick snowshoe to get a little cardio in! It is a beautiful day here, in the 40's with blue sky and white crystal shinning snow!

Shoegal: I know the feeling or trying to hide purchases from the DH!:( They just don't get out fashion needs do they?? They always like to look at nicely put together ladies, but they don't understand the effort and finances involved....

Michelle: yep a snow blower and a plow! LOL! Well I hear my friend pulling up so got to gear up!

I did Insanity Cardio Recovery today. It was like an aerobic yoga. Love it, but it was very hard. It's suppose to be.

Update: GERD medication is just not working for my body. I still feel the same symptoms as I did when I went into the Emergency, except it is not that severe. Is seems to me the disease hurt and so does the medication. I've been searching on the internet what other people are doing, they must also have a hard time with meds. I've found two natural supplements that I'm going to try. If it fails, I still have the meds the doctors prescribed for me. One is DGL (Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice), supports a healthy stomach lining. Most people hate the taste, but I like it. The other is Mastic Gum Extract for stomach discomfort. It's from an evergreen bush or small tree. I here a lot of good things about these two, and they always seem to come up all the time. Suppose to take them 30 min. before a meal. Since I have 4 meals a day, and this is new to me, I decided to only take them 3 times a day. I took two each so far, and no bad symptoms yet. I'll give it a few days and report back. Also updated my Multivitamin and since the Pac. NW is so rainy and dark this time of year, I'm taking extra Vitamin D as well. That's enough stuff for now. Wish me luck.

Laura, I love running around in the snow. Last year I built a snowman. It was a hoot. Oh, I bet it is very beautiful! I only modify, when I possibly can't do anymore, I just keep moving the best I can an easier way, but my body is still moving very hard for me. Until I get stronger it will be that way, but I'm working harder than I've ever worked in my life! When I do the Pure Cardio for example, I'm left in a puddle of sweat. It looks like I'm melting. LOL:eek: Literally, Now that's a great workout.

Shoegal, I bet your shoes are lovely. I think you do need them. Congratulations for doing the exercise easier. That means you are getting stronger and leaner. Yeah for you! HIS is not easy. I also so 20's on chest flys. It's hard, indeed. Joey and I are both doing the Meso 3, but he is not doing Insanity in-between like me. It's OK, he's moving and doing what he wants. Got your PM and I replied.

Michelle, I feel the same way you do about our group. It's so cool. If you can (for Christmas presents) get pairs of 25#'s, 30#'s and even 40"s. You won't be sorry. I use mine all the time. We go up to 45#'s. Joey sometimes uses those, not me yet, but it is just a matter of time. You are going to be very impressed with the STS series. Only good can come from that set. You know what to do if you are interested in my soap.;) It's so cool to see you growing with your weight. Congratulations.

Laura, P90X will get cha all the time. Good job on those workouts. Oh! I want to come along snowshoeing! I just love doing that, my most favorite thing to do in the snow. Do enjoy the beautiful day, I envy you, but glad you are doing it.;)

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone,

Janie

Well - I did 4DS KB - have to be honest and say that I had thoughts of replacing the KB with step but decided to do the workout as is and I kind of got into it. I think this may be one KB workout I can get through and kind of enjoy myself. I upped my weights on a lot the of the exercises and did the plie squats with 25's - thought of trying it with 30's but didn't. I like the low lunges in the workout - I found them a little easier this time around. It felt good - I find that I'm kind of tight these days which I have never found in the past - now it seems I need a good stretch all the time. I'm looking forward to stretch max.

Mini Shoe Report: I'll keep this brief. :) My shoe purchase is sort of embarrassing because I have bought the same pair of shoes - just in different colors. I now have this same flat in 7 different colors: white, black, brown, snake skin, beige, grey & gold. In my defense I couldn't do this if they didn't come in every color under the sun and patterns too. I am now contemplating a navy plaid pair.

Laura - I love to snowshoe but it isn't often we get enough snow to do it. :( So enjoy yourself!!! I love that you take advantage of the environment around you to get your fitness in. No my husband just rolls his eyes over my clothing purchases and thinks that an "outfit" is rather a funny term. Well - yes - it does take some effort - I would love it if he had to be a woman for a day.

Michelle - Don't you think it is funny how exercises videos have progressed? It used to be that they tried to use as little equipment as possible because it would turn people away from purchasing them. Now they don't even need to list what you need - most people have it. All of the steps, balls, weights, resistance bands - we all have them. Yeah - I didn't think it would come to this. I love my power tower - have to tell you. I have not regretted getting it - I place my barbell on it and never have to bend down to put it on the floor.

Janie - I think it is going to take some "experimenting" with your meds and supplements to find what is really going to really work for you in the long run. You are unique and what works for someone else may not be what is right for you. You obviously already know that - so hang in there - you are such a strong person and I know you'll figure it out. Insanity cardio recovery sounds insane - aerobic yoga? I have to see it!!!

Shadowpup - you hanging in there? Feeling more up to snuff?

Alright - everyone have a great day!!!:)

Good morning to everyone. A quick post in between things.

Today was the blessed stretch day: stretch max routines 2 and 3. A big ahhhhhh. Ripken likes stretch days too.

Shoegal: I have no problem with the notion of the same shoe in different colors, or the same shirt, bathing suit, or pair of pants for that matter. The Reed household is having a little debate right now on a major purchase that my DH wants to be our "Christmas present." Makes shoes look like a great deal. More to detail to come later.

Laura: I agree with Shoegal, it's great that you combine outdoor activities into your fitness regime. I'm just not a cold weather kind of gal. Personally, I like a dusting of snow that looks pretty and melts by noon.;)

Janie: sorry to hear the lower dose of meds is not working out. Dang. But, at least you've got a new plan to try. Hopefully, the new course will work.
\
Okay, got to go.
Michelle

Shoegal, Great job on 4DS KB and congratulations on lifting more weight. Isn't that great? Enjoy Stretch Max, you deserve it.

Aw, those shoes sounds so wonderful. You need that many to go with all the different clothes you have. Enjoy them. It may sound like you are still feeling guilty. Like Michelle suggested, perhaps those can be your Christmas present this year. Would your hubby mind that?

Well, when I say aerobic yoga, I mean lots of blanks to get the heart rate up and moving, and using all your big muscles. Up and down, Up and down, holding positions for awhile, while moving legs. It'a aerobic to me.

Michelle, Glad to see you and Ripken enjoying a well deserved stretch.

Getting ready to workout. Joey went to purchase a radio today, so my workout will be cardio today. Will let you know later, although it will be Insanity.

Janie

hi! hope you guys are having a nice evening. I did my class this evening, and took it easier because some of the people were still sore from Mondays class and then I was going to do a Cardio workout from P90X but forgot my computer again so decided to run on the treadmill instead. 5 minute warm up, 30 minute run, 5 minute cool down. Felt tortuous the whole time! The treadmill is so tedious to me! I would so rather be outside skiing, hiking, biking, even running anything else but a treadmill. Sometimes I can get into it and not find it so bad, but not tonight. I kept telling myself 20 more minutes, 15 more minutes, 10 more minutes, ect......any way kept on it until I finished...guess some days are just like that, huh? Maybe a cardio coach would be distracting enough to make it more tolerable? I might ask for that for christmas. With Winter settling in I know there will be more days than not that I need to resort to the dreaded treadmill or elliptical!

Janie: I am so sorry that med/dosage is still not working out!:(:(How do you work out when you aren't feeling well? That is amazing. Good for you! I hope the supplements workout better. They are positive about the diagnosis of GERD? Haven't talked to my friend in awhile, you remind me to call her and check in. I know that some people really retreat when they don't feel well. I am so inspired by you keeping active, pursuing your book, keeping engaged with us! We love you! Insanity sounds true to it's name! Will have to get it eventually....

Shoegal: I often buy things in multiple colors if I find something I like! I mean it is hard to find something that you really like, that you can afford, that fits; so why reinvent the wheel? If you want it in all the colors you can have it in than why not? I mean, you already know that you like it and it fits so that is 99% of the battle right there! Good for you for sticking with the KB! I think you will find that it grows on you as you do it more often and become more comfortable with it. Plus it is really true what they say about variety in workouts to keep you from plateauing and to help prevent overuse injuries. Doesn't mean you should KB every week but maybe throwing one in every month or so to keep your muscles guessing..And yes I definitley have been noticing that I am stiffer more often than I used to be.... also some aches and pains way more often.

Michelle: all these stretch days sound awesome! I really need to stretch more often. I always tell my clients to stretch more but am finding I am doing it less often! I am so busy that I tend to tag on a half-hearted 5 minute or less stretch at the end of a workout and I KNOW that isn't nearly enough. Luckily Pilates keeps me nimble but I am finding I even am doing that less and less for myself...there is after all only so many hours in a day, unless of course you are Shadowpup, who obviously has twice as many hours in a day than the rest of us mere mortals! LOL!:eek:

Did you catch that Shadowpup?? Hope you are having a good trip and we look forward to hearing about your heroic deeds when you get back!

Quick post before I get the day all started.

Did StretchMax 2 & 3 - had a lovely relaxing time stretching. I was going to do LIS instead to get that in and maybe tack on the stretch workouts at the end of the other 4DS workouts I need to do this week - but I didn't. I decided that I was going to let these workouts stand as is and see how I feel besides like I said - I really needed a good stretch. I have been working on my splits - I have always been able to them but since I have been so tight lately and it had been awhile since I even attempted one I decided to try. I got down nearly all the way the first time but not quite. After a couple days - I got them back but I need to keep working on my flexibility. :p

Tonight LIS - YEAH!! Love the step. :D

Christmas is sneeking up on me - I have to tell everyone that Christmas scares me every year. I get worked up about all I need to do and I get very concerned about if I'll get it all done. I manage to do it every year but it doesn't stop me from worrying about it. Maybe one year I'll get it done early and learn to enjoy myself.

Michelle: I want to know what this major purchase is??!?!!? Well - I hope it is something you would both like. DH & I have never gone that route yet - but I think those days are upon us. I can think of 20 zillion things we need for the house & so forth. There are so many things I'd like to do - I'd love a new Kitchen but who spends that kind of money at Christmas??

Janie - Did you get your cardio In? Another Insanity - you must be enjoying those workouts. Good for you - like Laura said - I'm amazed that you keep on going even when you don't feel up to par. Well - a good sweat seems to work wonders for me on some days. Sometimes I ache and the only thing to calm my muscles is to work them hard!!

Laura - You know - I actually like to run on the treadmill - I have one but  I don't really use it too often. Too busy doing Cathe! I bought these workouts called Treadmoves - they were designed for the treadmill and to combat boredom. They did some aerobics on the treadmill - skipping, using weights - did an entire choregraphed workout and followed up with abs & stretch. They were actually fun. You have got me thinking about them again - makes me want to do them!!

Hope everyone has a great day - I'll check back to see what everyone else is doing!

Hi all, I'm three planes into my trip (one to go) and this time I have personal internet! At least for awhile. I'll go through everyone's postings during my lunch break, but thought I'd post a hello at least, for now :D

Hey, I heard that! :D:D:D:D

Yesterday I did Insanity Core Cardio & Balance. Did not modify not even once. May have been a little slower than the rest, but, I didn't modify. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Today, Joey and I have planed Meso 3 week 2 Chest & Back disc 28.

Laura, I use to do that with the treadmill too. It can be boring, but now that I have Sean O'Malley (Cardio Coach), it is so much better. You should try his stuff, it's great. Hope you get it for Christmas.

If I don't work out then I gain weight. It's in the family. Most of my sisters are very overweight and I'm determined not to go there GERD or no GERD (G.. I hate that word). GERD hurts but not all the time since I'm taking new stuff for it. It's been two days going on my third. So far so good. If anything will happen, it will start about now, or a week in progress. We'll see. From what I understand on the internet, most people are doing fine, and only have to take them for 2-4 months, then it's gone. I hope it's that easy for me as well. I am not in as much pain as your friend, if I was I just don't know what I'd do. Do give her a call.

Shoegal, I'll have to look up Treadmoves. Wanted always to be able to do the splits. I didn't realize you had to work on it consistently. I thought you had it or you don't. Hmmmm. Stretches are so nice, glad to see you enjoyed them.

Usually we don't put up a tree or decorations because we go to one of our kids places for Christmas. We will have Christmas at our house this year. When that happens, Joey gets all rattled too. I don't know why that is.

Enjoy LIS tonight. I like that one too, one of my favorites.

Deborah, So nice to hear from you. We've missed you!

Yesterday did LIS step - love the step portion and the music!! Parts of it gets me going - I think it is really a lot of fun. The sliding part - well, I did it - but it is still definitely not one of my favorite moves. So on to the shoulder work - this time I used 8's, 10's, 11's and 12's on the shoulder presses. I created the 11's using the little magnet weights. My ab work - well - the back limits me I'm afraid - and seriously I could do without those little backward bicycles she does in the beginning of it. After about a minute - my legs don't want to participate anymore and I'm fighting them. Anything that requires me to lift my butt off the floor - lower ab work - well - I'm in pain and I can't do it so I didn't feel great about that portion of my workout.

Janie - Have you ever wished that you were one of those people with a super high metabolism that doesn't exercise and eats whatever they want? I met this tiny little woman at a party - she must have been a zero - or smaller - she said she sometimes wears girl's size clothing and she told me that she doesn't exercise and eats like a horse. I think managing our eating/weight is a full time job for the rest of us - but we have to keep at it!!

Shadowpup - glad you popped in to say hi!! We have been missing you here!!

Everyone must be busy - so tonight I will do 4DS: BC. Another chance here to do it better! Hope everyone has a great day & weekend!!:D
