Morning Maniacs -

I work the early shift this AM and rolling out of bed was tough at 4:30 this AM after working late last night. I'm upset cuz my workout stunk. I did AHB Sculpt 2. My HR only got as high as 114 and I only burned 320 calories. I don't know what that's all about and I wasn't really "into" my workout. It is so hard to get used to getting up that early and exercising after working late so much. I can't even believe it's me saying this.......from the girl who always got up at 2:30 AM or to workout by 3:00 when I had my office job.

I'm so bummed about my work schedule also, as I work very late some nights and start extremely early....since we have extended hours....which will mean I'll have to skip more workouts than I care to. I hate to not workout cuz my pain (from my disc problem) is always worse when I don't exercise. I hope I can get thru this Holiday season. Last year it wasn't as bad at work cuz there was 3 of us in the Dept. This year, it's me and one other girl and she goes to school full time. Sorry for the vent! Thanks for listening. (suck it up and shut up Lora!! LOL)
 
o today was my last STS workout. I'm going to miss it but for sure will do it again. Today was Meso 3, Week 4, Disc 36, Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. Had a great workout.

Warmup:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 35#/15 reps
Standing Barbell Front Press - 40#/12 reps

Workout:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 55#/8 reps
Barbell Curl - 57#/8 reps
Flat Bench Dumbbell Tricep Extensions - 22's/8 reps
***Did this for 4 sets. 1 minute rest between each exercise. With the Front Press I dropped down to 52# because I barely made 8 reps with the first set. My notes showed that I used 52# and that's what I should have used. I got arrogant and tried 55#.

Seated Lateral Raise - 13's/8 reps
Incline Curls on Stablity Ball - 22's/8 reps
Seated Overhead Dumbbell Extensions One Arm - 17#/8 reps
***Did 4 sets of these. About 30 seconds rest between each exercise and 1 minute between each set.

Seated Rear Delts - 22's/8 reps
Seated Concentration Curls - 27#/8 reps
Overhead Tricep Extension - 35#/8 reps
***Did 4 sets of these. About 30 seconds rest between each exercise and 1 minute between each set. 3rd exercise was suppose to be Cross Body Extensions but my right shoulder does not like that exercise so I subbed with Overhead Extensions.

I'm taking the next four days off totally and possibly starting P90X on Monday. I haven't decided yet.

Yesterday was HIIT. 10 min warm up walk with dog, 3 min warm up on TM , 15 rounds of 15 on 45 off, and a 2 min cool down. Total burn was 320 (not including the warm up walk). I am very sore from chin ups Monday but will truck along. Today is TB and 15 min ss.

Eats today:
1-protein pancakes w/ blueberries
2-greek yogurt/mixed berries
3-chicken/brown rice/salsa
4-rice cakes/protein shake
5-chicken/apple
6-egg whites/salad

I am so tired and for no good reason. I have been sleeping well but I just cannot get moving. It takes all I have to do anything.

Debbie-enjoy your rest, after those weights you lift you deserve it.

Lora-You schedule sounds exhausing. All you can do is your best. this time of year is always nuts no matter what area you work in, I hope it gets better soon.

Thanks, Debbie! Start P90X...you will love it! BTW, nice workout! I am almost done with your rotation and starting something new too..not sure what yet..undecided. Theresa gave me workouts that assist with abs alot too so maybe do that one.

Sorry things seem crappy for you right now. I hope it gets better. I hate when people take advantage of others too..just not right. I remember sitting in the car so long from traveling recently and then visiting people...screwed up my neck and back. I just can't sit too long like that. Anyhow, miss ya.

I think it is the time of year cuz I feel the same way alot lately,but not yesterday though...girl..I had tons of energy..still do. It is raining here today so I hope that even though I feel good now, I don't lose that energy. I am really excited for you with your meal plan..I think you are gonna see fantastic results from it.
 
I got in my workout this morning. No cardio though. I did STS Meso 3 week 3 chest and back 68 minutes 352 calories. I then did Weights and Plates abs for 15 minutes 62 calories. Total calories burned was 415 Had to stop to go take the girls to school. When I got home my grandbaby was just arriving so have been busy since.

Charlotte, Happpy Birthday. I love it when I have one of those times that I feel really energetic. I wonder why I can't just have that energy all of the time:confused:

Debbie, I think that you would enjoy P90X. Nice workout.

Lora, I hate when I feel like I had a stinky workout. I try to blow it off and figure I will make it up somewhere else with a great workout.
I know it would be a lot easier when you have a regular schedule. My weeks change every other week as far as how much time I have and how early I have to get up. That probably makes a difference on your HR too. I find mine is stronger after I have been up awhile but I don't have time for that in the mornings. Maybe you could go through your workouts and find which ones would give you the most for the time you have to spend through the holidays. Maybe cardio weight circuits, boot camps etc. I get sore and stiff when I miss workouts for a couple of days too. I thrive on the workouts:)

Theresa, you get nice calorie burns with the HITT. What is TB?

diane sue-tb is total body work. she broke it up into 2 supersets w/ 4 exercise each and usually 3 to 4 sets...today I do sissy squats for the first time, it should be interesting :D

Char-that makes me feel better; I don't know why I'm so tired but I am, and cranky too. I had to get a coffee this morning with sugar substitute in it. I looked up the macros and will add it to my total. I'm sure Oleysa will love that ;)

My head is still pounding. Did Tracey's Sculpt Sweatfest. It was really different and used light weights which is all I could handle this morning. Didn't have a bosu though so I could not add the balance challenge some times and I DID NOT kneel on my ball. Looked like an accident waiting to happen. Have no idea as to the calorie burn as my HRM reset itself in the middle of teh workout again. Geez, I hate that thing. Don't know if I should send it for repair or just buy a new one?
 
Bowflex for weights today. I use the barbell for the deadlifts only.
Wts today for Disc 33 meso 3 were:
w/up sets bench press 40# resistance in each hand 12 reps 2 sets
6 reps each exercise
Bench press 45# resistance each hand 6 reps... Read More
Rows 100# each hand
repeat 4 times
chest flys 45# each hand
1 arm rows 105#
repeat 4 times
incline bench press 45# each hand
deadlifts 100# barbell
repeat 4 times
incline chest flys 45# each hand
one arm horizontal row 1 set 100# 3 sets 95#
repeat 4 times
 
Lora - Sorry about your job, that totally sucks. And believe me, I know you have to hold onto it because right now it is almost impossible to get another one. I've been looking since July and have only had two interviews. I've sent out at least 30 resumes. It's ridiculous. Hang in there, girl!

Theresa - I've been extremely tired lately, too. I think it's the weather change. At least I hope that's what it is. I sit here at work and about fall asleep every day. I'm NEVER like that! And chins and pullups get me sore like nothing else can.

Char - I am leaning towards doing P90X.

Diane Sue - Nice workout! I loved the Chest and Back workouts from STS. How is the pilates ab workout? I don't care much for pilates so I don't think I'd like it.

Linda - I'd throw the HRM out the window if it was mine! LOL! I've had some problems with mine lately and it makes me so damn mad. Why the hell can't these things just work? I say get a new one! Did you still want to start P90X? Can you start on Monday?
 
Theresa, I should have figured out what TB was LOL I like Sissy squats. You will really feel them in the quads.

Linda, I know what you mean about the pounding head. I think I am going to have to wean myself back off of all of the Excedrin and Advil(dd told me to take 800 MG of the Advil when I was at her house and it helped) I bet I start getting rebound headaches if I don't get this under control soon. I like the balance part of Sculpt sweatfest. I don't balance on the ball either. Usually do it with one toe kind of touching the floor to catch me when my balance is off. I also hold light dumbbells when standing on the bosu.

Debbie, I am not a real fan of pilates either but I do like the pilates based abs. There is a couple of moves that I really like. I think it is one of the easier ab workouts of the STS series though. I would say that about the yoga one except the side plank to plank segment is tough for me. My arms get tired:)
 
Diane Sue - Thanks for the review of pilates abs. Hey, I found who does that Body Combat workout. It's by Les Mills. But... I have no idea where or how to order it. You can't order it from the Les Mills website. Bummer! It sounds like an awesome workout.

HI everyone....just got home from work and I'm eating a veggie sandwich from Panera...yum!

What does everyone think of the fact that I'm going to have to take 3 days off of working out during the week of Xmas due to my schedule? Will I survive? LOL.

Toasty -I've missed you. What's new with you? Have you been working and that's why you're never around?

I think I much rather take a hammer to the stupid HRM! Which Sportline HRM to you have now? And yes, as long as this cold doesn't get any worse I should be able to start the X on Monday. Kinda nervous about all the pullups and pushups.:confused:

I asked DH today if he would miss me after my head exploded! LOL! He said no!:p I really wished I had a Bosu today for those parts. I was thinking maybe I could sub balance discs? Oh, and my abs are already starting to get sore! Thank goodness that this cold doesn't have me coughing a lot or this would really hurt! LOL!:eek:

Linda, I keep telling my dh I need my head squeezed till it pops LOL He will come by and pretend he is going to squeeze my head. I broke down and took some Imitrex this afternoon. That headache is still there:(
I think a balance disc or even trying a wobble board for some of that might work. It is really just all about balancing. I have read that it is good for strengthening the ankles, shins and feet.

Debbie, that is sadly so true about the job market being horrible right now. I'm in academia, and it is downright depressing. I'm not in too bad of a position right now, myself, but certainly not where I want to be. I am so sick of applying to places and jumping through the millions of flaming hoops necessary for applying for an academic job. =(


Just finished the legs 2X premix from Amy's Slo Mo. Yesterday I did back and chest from that tape and abs from her Cardio Hi Lo knockout dvd.
