What's on your Christmas playlist?

Do you have Fairytale of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty McColl? If not, you must.

"And the boys in the NYPD Choir were singing Galway Bay
As the bells were ringing out for Christmas Day!"

River...Joni Mitchell
Baby, Please Come Home...Death Cab for Cutie
Mary......Lou Barlow
Santa Claus Goes Straight to the Ghetto....James Brown
I Hate Christmas....Eric Idle
Christmas with the Devil....Spinal Tap
Happy Days and Auld Lang Syne...Richard Thompson
Hanukkah Song...Adam Sandler
What a Wonderful World...The Ramones
Christmas in the Trenches....John McCutheon
16, Maybe Less....Iron & Wine
What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love, and Understanding....Nick Lowe version
Imagine...John Lennon

Harry Connick Jr's- When My Heart Finds Christmas (the whole CD)
Vince Gill- Let There Be Peace On Earth (the whole CD)
Bing Crosby - (love his voice, can't remember the name of the CD)

I prefer more traditional Christmas music, but also like a little Mariah Carey and some of the newer stuff too. ;) We have a couple stations here that play Christmas music all day, so I listen to that a lot.

Jess, I LOVE "When My Heart Finds Christmas"! In fact, I love that whole Harry Connick Christmas CD.

I love Bing Crosby, too, as well as Nat King Cole and Johnny Mathis. And anything Celtic.

Yep, the whole CD is awesome! Oh, yeah I love Nat King Cole too. Chestnuts Roasting On an Open Fire...

I love Billy Squire's Christmas is the Time to Say I Love You, & the Bing Crosby/David Bowie version of the Little Drummer Boy.

And I have the 3 CD set of Elvis's Xmas songs. :)

I love Mannheim Steamroller too!

Also, Trans Siberian Orchestra! they are in Vegas tomorrow night, but we can't go... sorta the 'school nite' principal! but they are awesome!

I am having a hard time getting into the Christmas music spirit though... guess that sorta requires some SNOW for me! don't get much of that in the desert!

have fun compiling! :)

What I like about Christmas music is that artists whom I wouldn't usually listen to seem to find their way onto my iPod. I wish more artists would do Christmas albums. Here are some of my faves:

Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley
Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - John Lennon & Yoko Ono
O, Holy Night - Nat King Cole
Feels Like Christmas - Cyndi Lauper
Christmas In Hollis - Run DMC
Last Christmas - Wham!
Frosty the Snowman - Fiona Apple
Walking In A Winter Wonderland - Eurythmics
Holly Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives
Another Lonely Christmas - Prince & The Revolution
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Judy Garland
It Came Upon A Midnight Clear - Kevin Max
Silent Night - Stevie Nicks (with Robbie Neville)

Seriously, what is wrong with you people....Christmas in Hollis by RUN DMC is MUST (as is the Pogues :p;) )

I'm writing all these down as fast as I can! This is great!
I love Christmas music.:D

Jonahnah, I've never heard "2000 miles" until today- LOVE IT! I love her voice!

I've never heard "Mary did you know" until today- LOVE it, it's going to the top of my playlist!

I have Mariah Carey's "O Holy Night", but I had to download Josh Grobin's version.

I have Dean Martin's "Baby it's cold outside" I know he's an oldie, but like Elvis, always timeless. ;)

Hey, no one mentioned "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer". What's up with that?:p

I feel like such a grouch, but I really hate Christmas music in general. :( My DH loves it and is already putting together play lists to basically torture me with for the next month. I swear if I hear another version of "O Holy Night", I'm going to flush my DH's ipod. ;) And don't even get me started on the Carpenters!

I'm sorta with you Liann! last year we didn't even put up a tree... zip, nada, nuttin' honey!!! I have so many cute Christmas things, but just didn't have it in me to go even half way out for the Holiday! This year may be another one!
