I've never done a premix

Until today!!!!

When I started Cathe everything was VCR, so I have a ton of them, And I always just did the routine as is. Well I've since gotten all the DVD's over the past 2 years and just did them the way they were.

Well I was getting ready to do BM2 and my DS 4 was playing with the buttons and hit start. It was the timesaver cardio!!! I LOVED it. It was just the right amount of time that I had and I obviously knew all the moves from having done the whole workout so many times. :D:D:D:D

Why didn't anyone tell me about this!??? I now have like 80 different workouts I've never even seen!! Yipee. Although it will drive DH nuts when he sees me watching Cathe tapes all day. I gotta see what I've been missing.

This is sooooo cool. I am a happy woman today. Can't wait to see what scrambled eggs is all about. I'm assuming it's not lunch right!!!

LOL, Ellie, have fun! I love the premixes on BM2...it's like having a whole bunch of different workouts in one. Do you have 4DS? That's another one with great premixes.

I do premixes almost exclusively! I prefer to keep my workouts under an hour and I always feel like a get a GREAT workout with the shorter premixes. I'm talking about the strength workouts -- I don't normally do Cathe's cardio, although it looks like I'll be doing the Imax Friday deal -- LOL!
 
OMG! Ellie does that mean when we did DM yesterday that you actually did the WHOLE DM? :eek: cuz I only did a cardio/legs premix... it WAS 57 minutes, just not the whole thing... I would have DIED!!! Now I feel like I need to go back and do the whole DM just to be honest! :)

your DVD's don't go to the main menu? Mine always go to the menu with the list of Play Intro, play program, credits, play premixes, etc!!! I look at the premixes all the time, especially when I am limited on time, or just don't feel like I can do an entire 70 minute workout! They allow a LOT of variety and versatility to your workouts!

I actually LIVE for the premixes because I'm just not at the advanced level (YET) of the w/o's that I have purchased... not ALL my workouts, but some of the harder ones!

I'm another one who would only do the workouts as produced but now I'm finding out how great the premixes can be. Scrambled eggs is a favorite. It is all cardio consisting of the 3 step segments done separately, then the segments combined (done twice), and followed by the power circuits. The double cardio is basically the same thing except you only do the combined segments once. I agree with Jodi...4DS has some great premixes. My favorite is the all upper body.

I don't have DM, BC or BM2 - am going to need to get those eventually... but I have discovered and relied on more leg premixes since my shoulder surgery. This a.m. I did HSTA cardio and legs portion then followed up with 30 min on treadmill. Premixes are keeping it more exciting for me!!

I saw all the other things on the menu but just never looked thru it. I thought you just hit Play program and off you went!! No wonder my butt is dragging and I need a nap afterwards!!! I thought everyone did the whole workout all the time and I just couldn't keep up. I use the pause button so much the letters are worn off!!!

I didn't do premixes for a long time either. I can't even remember which workout it was, but once I tried it out I was hooked!! ;) Have fun mish moshing the workouts now! :D

well, actually....... you have been here longer than me (ok, so it is only a few months), and I thought YOU knew!!! :p lol!!! I'm SO sorry... I did KickMax premix today too, the longer one, and then worked outside in the yard and sweated for another hour... does that make you feel any better??? Please forgive me!!! I guess with all the chatter about premixes all over, I thought I was the one behind the 8-ball!
 
I love me some premixes!! My fave for the longest time was 4ds upper body premix. Haven't done it in a while. Maybe I should :eek:
 
I only do premixes now.....30 to 45 minutes of cardio is what I do so the premixes work beautifully.
 
The premixes are the best part!

That's definitely true on some DVDs. The premixes increase the intensity of PP and SS, and there are some premixes on other DVD's that have saved the DVD for me (which I would have gotten rid of otherwise, if the workout 'as-is' were the only option available).
