Getting it done for February!!!

High fives to you for completing your first month rotation and getting up early! :)

The workout I did today was just right and felt great. :)

It's been snowing/ sleeting most of today. At least it's not adding to what we received during that big storm.

Tomorrows plan is either CSS or some other type of cardio. All depends on how I am feeling strength wise. These bad headaches really take a lot out of me physically and mentally.

Hi all!

Yesterday - rest day

Today - 1st day of recovery week, so Insanity Core and Balance every day this week. Would like to fit in some lo intensity cardio also, but nothing extreme.

Heidi - glad you survived the big storm. What wo did you get in yesterday? What are your plans today?

Belinda - how was your weekend?

Threw in a 2nd wo today - Incline walk on tm. It was either that or give in to my urges. Think this was the better option. Now for a healty dinner - grilled chicken salad.

Morning girls,

Time for the update on our Valentines. My DH started by telling me to pack for four days and to make sure I had nice and comfortable clothes. We left at 0600 in the morning headed toward the country, DH told me we might be flying out of a regional airport to Orlando then we passed the airport. Next he was talking about Omish country (Pennsylvania) and staying at a bed and breakfast with no electricity and wood stoves. This went on for about two hours then I saw the first NY signs and had a pretty good idea since I been wanting to go there since forever.:eek:


He broke down and admitted NYC telling me of a small Army base in Brooklyn. We got to the base and went to the hotel only to get into a Town car, he tricked me again:eek:. The town car took us to Manhattan where we arrived at the Waldorf Astoria, my DH told me we were haaving lunch there because it was historic, it was amazing. When we checked in everyone seemed to know us, my DH had planned everything to suprise me and I was at every step. The manager took us to the top floor just below the penthouse, we wnet to the only double door on the floor opening to a 1200 square foot suite. It was boutique style with beautiful antique firuniture and views from each window because it was on the corner of 50th and Park Ave. DH quickley shuttled me off to a 60 min massage at the salon which is rated 2d or 3d in the world depending on the magazine your read. After that we walked to central park and he took me on a Handsome Cab ride throughout the entire Park, If I did not mention this was the third time I teared up:D. It was amazing. After the ride we went to dinner, it was a short walk and I had no clue again, he took me to the Four Seasons restaurant, Oh My God!:p We had a table waiting in the pool room right at the side of the reflecting pool, we had a personal server and waiter, Yup I teared up again:eek:.


After dinner I thought we were done, DH asked if I wanted to take a walk, of course I did. I had no clue where we were or where we were going. We walked a few blocks and the lights got brighter. We walked through Time Square and it was overwhellming, It was amazing, we continued to walk and came up on the Theater with the longest line it was the Phantom of the Opera, and we went straight to the front an were escorted to the Second row and seated. The theater was awsome and the show raised the hair on my sikn giving me goose bumps, I teared up again. It was now 1130 and the show ended, My day starting at 0600, I was amazed at my stamina, it was all overwhellming and beautiful, my DH had me fooled and amazed all day.:eek: It was a Ferry Tale Valebtines, the timing and the events were like a movie.


I was soo overwhellemed that I almost forgot about the Hotel, when we arrived I was amazed agin, DH had two dozen roses wating in the main entrance, large buds for our lasting love and small buds for our future together, I teared up again. What an amazing night, I will leave that alone.


The next day seeing my amazement DH extended our stay from Sunday to Monday. We stayed for four nights and each day was as amazing as the first, we went to every major store and shop, DH offering anything and everything. We did splurge on a newly released perfume at the Sack's, made for the NYC Sack's only, my DH got some too. We saw all of the sights eating at the finest resaurants and the best NYC street food and hidden gems. DH added a 50 minute massage to each days program ensuring I was relaxed and cared for, the pampering was amazing.

We chose to walk each day to see the real NYC. We walked an average of ten miles per day. One day we walked the entire length of Central Park, that is a beautiful and huge park. We went into Harlem where we found the most amazing little Deli Restaurant, Ottomanelli's, fabulous food;). We also got off the beaten path on another day finding Jim's Diner it was about ten feet wide and thiry feet long and had been visited by Emerald Lagasi, wow what a great burger. It is deffinatley a Metropolitan city, it felt like Europe at times and nowhere else at others. Manhattan has everything, we found quaint European esk Cafe's and wonderful Tea shops, and the people were polite, making the crowds easy to deal with. If any of you go to Manhattan I recommend walking everywhere, you never know what you will see around any corner. You see the influence of the rich and famous and the reality of everyday people. I love Manhattan!

All I can say is that this is our 30th year of marriage and December is our anniversary, if he keeps this up I won't know how to act. After 30 years he is still so romantic. :eek:

Good morning!

Yesterday - rest day. Really early work day (and really long day). Just couldn't see getting up at 4 for a wo and being able to last all day. I was exhausted by the end.

Today - no wo yet. Kids are off school and I arranged to take them to the dentist this a.m., so I got to sleep in. Still woke up early enough for a wo, but DVD player didn't want to cooperate this morning. Not stressing as this is a recovery week, so I'll figure something out tonight.

Belinda - What a wonderful surprise from your DH. How fabulous! I bet he had so much fun planning it, too! I've never been, but it's on my bucket list. He really pulled out all the indulgences on this one. So glad you had a wonderful time.

Heidi - What are your plans today/this week? How are you hanging in there?

No wo today, but we did just get home with a new DVD player so guess what I get to do tomorrow?! Excited about the little things! I did get a bit of a wo in shoveling 2" of snow - fairly easy.

Belinda - did you ever get in a wo? I really don't NEED any new DVD's, but the prices are tempting . . .

Heidi - How are you hanging in there?

Never got a workout in yesterday:mad: I wasn't busy or anything:rolleyes: just didn't feel like doing much yesterday.


On Wednesday I did a circuit workout and Thursday I did Hard Strike. I had to take the intensity on HS down. Too many jumping jacks. I liked the workout, but I like TJ better:D


Sherry- I know, I said I wasn't gonna order any more wo dvds, but I did:eek: I ordered Turbo Jam, Hip Hop Abs and Rocking body yesterday. Couldn't pass up on that deal on Hip Hop Abs and Rocking body:p Each program usually around $59. I couldn't pass up that deal. Alesia loves Hip Hop Abs and Rocking Body;) Since I ordered already HHA and RB, somehow TJ landed in my shopping card:p:eek:

Yesterday groupon offered a bus tour to NY:eek: We bought 4 tickets. We all will go in a few weesk.



Not sure what I will do today, but I need to do something.:D

I am super sore from Saturday's workout:(? My booty is on fire, I can't hardly walk up the stairs, lol. No workout yesterday, went and visit DD in Washington DC instead. Oh well.



Not sure what I will do today? Wating for my BB workout, they shipped already;)

Saturday - dog walk plus Insanity Core & Balance - new DVD player worked great!

Sunday - rest day so dog walk only

Today - Insanity Max Interval Circuit to do tonight. Stayed up to watch the Oscars last night, so wasn't getting up this morning. In month 2 the workouts get longer - 50 to 60 minutes each, so no room for the snooze button.

Been experimenting with seasoning my own breading for baked chicken. Some hits, some misses. I do better with marinating. What's your favorite way to cook chicken?

Belinda - no, not giving in to temptation, though the prices are great. Hands over ears, or is it hands over eyes? ;)

Heidi - something is better than nothing, so enjoy it when you can.

Belinda: Oh what a nice visit you must have had with your DD. :) I miss mine! Haven't seen her like in forever it seems. Been having so many snowy weekends lately so she hasn't come out.
Booty DOMS get you good! LOL! Maybe do yoga stretch instead? :)

Sherry: Just finished my sweat fest with AB! Lots of huffing and puffing for sure on that one! ;)

I have some good upper DOMS from yesterday's bi & tri burn set workout. PHEW! I had to go a little lighter with the weights today in AB.

Tomorrow is suppose to be XT legs but after AB I don't know if I will be able too. I tend to get lower body DOMS from it. Will see..... ;)

As for chicken....don't bread mine. Tend to have in stir-fry, roasted or baked with minimal added calories. Seasoning varies with how it is going to be served. In salad or stir-fry etc.

Here is a good recipe that the family likes:

CHICKEN WITH ORANGES AND ALMONDS
Ingredients
• 4 chicken, broiler-fryer, breasts, skinless OR USE CHICKEN TENDERS
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon pepper, black
• 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
• 1/8 teaspoon cloves, ground
• 1 tablespoon oil, salad
• 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
• 1 cup(s) onion(s), chopped
• 1 cup(s) orange juice
• 1 tablespoon nuts, almonds, slivers
• 1/4 cup(s) raisins
• 2 orange(s), pared and thinly sliced
• Preparation
• Sprinkle chicken with salt, pepper, cinnamon and cloves. Heat oil (and cooking spray if needed) in large skillet; place chicken in oil skin down and brown a golden color. Turn over in pan. Put garlic, onion, orange juice and 1 cup of water over chicken; cover
• Spread out almonds in shallow pan and place in 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes or until fragrant but just barely toasted. Add almonds, raisins and sliced oranges to chicken. Cover and cook 5 minutes.

• Calories: 292

WO done! Had to cut it a bit shorter than wanted, 'cause had to get DD to soccer and pick her up later. Darn kids. :) I know I'll miss all this someday, but right now it just adds to the craziness.

Heidi - Thanks for the recipe. Will have to try that one. Love the weight DOMS. Xtrain can get them good!

Belinda - Wait, 2 wo's today? Way to go! The guys talked you into it. Now sure we'd manage with 3 of us, though 2 fit in the wo area just fine.

I agree about the new series - I'm trying to gear up for XTrain in the a.m. once I'm done with Insanity. And then she comes out with another, that sounds good. Holding off for now . . . but I always seem to cave for hers.

Hoping my TJ dvds will arrive today. If not I will do a different cardio workout, one I haven't done in a long time. My PF is feeling 100% better again.

Sherry - good job this morning. My workout room is huge, love it. They all talked me into P90X. DH and DS wants me to continue, but my new workouts are coming this week?

Almost skipped my workout today, had a burst of energy this afternoon. I did a mix of workouts today: Cardio Kickbox w/ Jillian Michaels = 30 min, Knockout Body Blast(KB wo) w/Jessica Smith = 10 min and 10 min Cardio Quick workout (high intervals) w/Jessica Smith. Worked up a great sweat;)


Off to the shower. Try to be back later.
