    New Video Poll

Woohoo! Hi Cathe, I know that whatever you decide to do will be top notch. I love your ideas so far. Intro to Cathe sounds like a great gift for a friend. For the fourth video, I vote for a circuit style workout. You do these so well! I also prefer something that has hi-lo and...

    My workout with Art Carey!

Great story Cathe, You are a wonderful writer! You were also very gracious to Art. Thank you for sharing the story. It will be interesting to read his take. Art is one lucky guy to have a personal workout session with you! Caroline

    Plank modification for sore wrists?

Hi Monica, One modification is to do the planks with your elbows and forearms on the floor. Cathe does these in CTX and Circuit Max. You might also try holding dumbbells under your hands to keep your wrists more straight. This is a modification used for pushups. Hope this helps! -Caroline

New reviews of I Series (chatty style!)

Hi Clare, I don't post here much but I just wanted to say that I loved your chatty reviews/previews. I'm another DVDer and my only comfort is that these will be worth the wait. Caroline

    Suggestions? - Boot Camp Circuit

I also like the idea of having the main workout last 45 min and having optional stuff at the end . Brava!

    Suggestions? - Cardio and Weights

No legs please LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-02 AT 00:53AM (Est)[p]I dread leg work (except for S&H!) so I would really prefer that this video focus on upper body. Sounds great - Circuit Max is one of my faves! Oh, and is there any chance of putting some kickboxing circuits in there, Cathe? I just...

    strength training in bodymax

YES!!! I don't know about you but I consider Body Max to be heavy weight training and I definitely need to give my muscles a rest the next day. I also think that even if your weight work is for endurance (as opposed to building strength or muscle mass), it's still strength training and...

    Slow and Heavy

Me too I just did Chest & Back for the first time yesterday. It's funny because I didn't feel much for the first few hours and thought maybe it hadn't been very effective (yeah, right!) But sure enough, about 12 hours later I was starting to feel sore in my pecs. Cathe, you are a genius. I...

    defined, muscular arms ???????????

muscle definition LAST EDITED ON Aug-16-01 AT 03:50PM (Est)[p]While I would agree that cardio helps you burn fat, I have also found that doing a rotation with less cardio and more intense strength also helped me drop a few pounds. I heard there was an article in Self that said that weight...

Which new Cathe tapes to get???

Hi rhbrand, Sorry to hear about your car problems! That's one of those pesky expenses that you pop up unexpectedly! I don't have S&H yet because I ordered the DVDs, but I did break down and get Power Hour and Rhythmic Step on video and love them both. Do you have any of Cathe's other tapes...

Which Strength Videos to start with??

I think Dawn's suggestion is great. I have done Body Max and I love the upper body strength work. It's very thorough and only about 30 minutes. Great ab work. I tried Power Hour for the first time today and it was great. Very different from MIS. With those 3, you'll be busy for months...

    Does anyone know......

Request to SNM This post by Cathe was so thorough and helpful. It was recently posted at VideoFitness. I think it would be really helpful to Cathe fans to put this in a permanent place on the website. Thanks, Caroline

    kickboxing fans

I like Boxing Body TKO but something about the way the kicks are done sometimes bothers my knees. I love Kickbox Jam because it is intense and has interesting choreography. I tried Sherri's new tape, Fit to Kick, last night. It is less choreo, more drills. I have heard that it might appear...

    Cathe's waist and abs

RE: Apples, pear, and other fruit Hi Kathryn, Actually cucumbers are technically fruit. I fit in that category. I have what they call a boyish figure. I think cucumber or banana would be appropriate! Caroline

    Weights question

Hi Thea, I'm not Cathe and I'm not a fitness expert, so this is JMHO. I can't remember who said this (could it be Cathe?) but your brain probably fatigues before your muscles do - i.e. even when you think you are fatigued, try a few more reps until you physically can't continue. I think this...

    Heart Rate?

Hi Katie, I'm no expert but it's so true that you need to give your muscles time to recover in order for them to get stronger. If you're not getting the results you want from doing MIS three times a week, maybe you should either split the workout into upper and lower body and do them on...

    spinning and strength training

Cathe, Thanks so much for your reply. It's good to know that it's not necessarily bad to do spinning on my leg training days. I'll see how things go in the next few weeks. Thanks, Caroline

    Standing leg work necessary?

Squats with a ball Hi Ellen, A personal trainer taught me to do squats with a big inflatable ball (I think they're called flexaballs). Stand with the ball between the small of your back and the wall. The ball guides your range of motion so you are moving straight up and down and your weight...

    spinning and strength training

Hi Cathe, I have been doing Pure Strength for the past few weeks and love it. I actually look forward to getting up early in the morning for my strength training! I just started doing heavier weight training recently (including Body Max and MIS) and I am very excited about your new DVDs. I...

    alcohol

Caloric content of beer A 12 oz beer has about 150 calories. That's 1800 empty calories per week if you have 12 drinks! So if you cut that out of your diet, you could lose a pound every two weeks. In general, one serving (i.e. 6 oz wine, 1 oz shot of liquor) of an alcoholic drink has about...
