Morning Coolers

Well, I survived the RT with a major head cold:D:eek: My head is still pounding so I'm going to be brief right now. It was a lot harder then last year as there were more workouts. We did a spin class, I also did the optional yoga class and then we did Zumba Sat. night. I won a yoga mat and bought a couple t-shirts.

I also met another Torontonian:) so we might keep in touch.:)

Today is a holiday thankfully. I have a messy house I need to get tidy, empty refrigerator that needs to be stocked and I need to run into work for a few minutes:mad:

My body is only feeling a slight DOMS which is good as my head just won't stop aching.

Oh, the big announcement. In a few weeks Cathe is taping four more videos.

Intensity - combo boot camp, imax, low impact Hiit.
STS - Total Body - emphasis on heavy weight
TB Endurance - update of Power Hour
Lower Body Blast

Okay, I'll try to get back later.

Hope you're feeling better Patricia! Did the cold keep you from enjoying the weekend?? I want to know what you were talking to Cathe about in the pictures???

We had a a great weekend at the cottage. Did lots of boating, swimming etc.Even dragged the waterskiies out for the adults. I came home with water in my ear causing the most painful earache. I took lots of meds and went to bed early last night. The kids and I have nothing on the schedule today and then tomorrow is my eye surgery.

I"ll have time to do my preorder before I leave for the eye surgery though! Do either of you think you'll use the workout blender? I think I'll just order the dvd's I don't see myself using the blender.

Afternoon Coolers

Cathe told us to take a couple days off from before working out again so no w/o for me for a few days, especially with this cold hanging in there!

My parents and brother are visiting us tonight for dinner. I have not seen my brother in a year or two so looking forward to it.

Kim - Cathe was asking me what kind of w/o I wanted to do. Floor or Step - I said I didn't care, maybe kickboxing. My DH laughed when he saw that pic!:D I can't believe I still worked out (quite hard too!) with this cold. I was just worried that people wouldn't want to be around me but there weren't any issues there:) Sorry to hear about the ear ache, I can really empathize with you these days:mad:

I'm just ordering the DVDs - I'm not set-up for downloads - DH owns an ipod but I can't be bothered figuring these things out yet!

I'm up early and don't know what to do, I guess I'm a bit nervous:( Need to be there for 10 am and DH will pick me up between 1:30-2 pm. The kids are over at my sister's, not because of the surgery they went over to watch a movie with their cousins last night and decided to stay where the pool is;) It's still quite hot here.

Hope you're feeling better Patricia? Do you think it's all cold and not allergies? Where's your brother visiting from? Did DH and ds enjoy their trip?

Went to see the house yesterday, they had poured the concrete for the foundation dor the garage and did the backfilling around the house. Good to see the progress but the kids and I are waiting for the more exciting stuff.

Hopefully I'll be feeling well enough to place my preorder for the presale later. I think I might take advantage of the 20% off coupon and ordered a few dvds to replace VHS.

I guess Laurie is away on holidays this week!

Laurie - so how are you feeling today. Glad to see that it went well yesterday. You're going to soooo love that you did it!

I'm starting to feel better now. It must have been a cold and not allergies:( I'm still taking it easy though. Took DS to the splash pad near us yesterday after dinner. It's just sooo ugly hot out. Not sure if I'm going to w/o out this week at all or just wait until after the weekend. We have company coming with us to the cottage and want to leave work early tomorrow to beat the traffic:(

My w/o room is full of DH's guitars and equipment until he gets his room organized so a good excuse not to w/o :D:D

My brother lives in Thunder Bay and only comes down for a few days every year or 2. I always make sure I get a pic of him with DS so DS has some memory of him down the road....

DS had such a good time being off with DH he wants to come to work with us or have us stay home. Reality has set back in now though!

Patricia, I wrote a long post about my eye surgery and then accidentally deleted it. My eyes are blurry so won't write much and I have to get going to my follow up appointment.

The left eye that had the "Normal" lasik method is great, almost painfree. The right eye that had the pytergum from sun damage is as expected quite painful at times. They used the PRK method on it. The left eye as 4 different eye drops and the right has 4 eye drops (3 different from the left) and 2 oral meds (pain killers and anti-inflammatories) so it was quite a job keeping everything straight yesterday. Boring day yesterday with no reading, computer, tv and painful at times. Worry the special glasses all day and night.

There is a protective lens over the right eye that will be removed in the clinic Monday so I can't return to work till Tueday:( SO phoned work yesterday an had that arranged.

I could see the time on the alarm clock with no glasses this morning!:D My vision wsn't all that bad so I probably won't notice the difference as much as other people. DH is definitely thinking about it .

Just finished up HSTA - and I'm tired. My legs feel heavy. Going to the cottage for the weekend and hopefully have some "fun in the water" workouts:D

Kim - yikes, hopefully you're not in too much pain. Is it more headache that you feel and scratchy eyes? Each day gets better. I hear ya about the boredom. Its hard to just sit around and not "do" something with your eyes. Your eyesight might have been like mine. No great earth shattering "I CAN SEE":D but sure is nice not to have to put glasses on to drive or watch t.v. Oh, and when you go away your packing gets easier:D

I was wondering about you and the gift certificates.:) I'm glad that you got to use them. I had ds do my preorder for me.

My right eye swells, waters and closes. They checked it yesterday and said it was normal. He said to take less eye drop painkillers as I was slowing down the healing and to just let it swell shut and lie on the couch:rolleyes: Not so much painful as I can't keep it open. Also at time I can feel the protective contact lense and that can be painful. The Tylenol 3 and Toradol was making me nausous so trying to stop using them.

My vision is still pretty fuzzy and I think it will be until they remove the protective lense on Monday. I was pretty grumpy yesterday:eek: DH took the kids to see Weird Al and they seem to like that.

We are supposed to go camping this weekend I guess we'll try going. I can lie around the camper the same as I can lie around home. I'm going to see what I'm able to get down around the house to get ready, DH is leaving work a bit early and then we'll go.

Enjoy the cottage Patricia!! You're all over the cold?? Are you ever going to spend a weekend in the new house?? We did stop by our new house yesterday and there is a front step? Hoping the framing starts next week!

Kim - wow, sounds like you're going through a lot more than I ever did with my surgery:confused: Hope your eyes are doing better now and have a good appt today.

Had a nice time at the cottage. Our friend brought up his boat so the guys went fishing but didn't catch anything. It was a bit coolish:mad: but still got in the water. Sunday rained all day but we sat out on our new covered porch. Oh the joys of being back in the city. Instead of a 2hr drive home it closer to 3.5 hours with traffic:(

Checked my email and on Sat. we had an offer emailed to us for our house but it was only good for 2 hours. What's with that. Also a low ball offer. Can't figure out why our agent didn't call us knowing that we're generally at the cottage on weekend. Anyhow, will talk to him today and see what we can do about keeping the offer in play.

My cold is almost over with. Will try to get a w/o in tonight. Maybe finally crack open BBC.

Hope you had a great vacation Laurie.

Back from camping. Oh, patricia, an email for a 2 hour house offer??That is so dumb, I would be talking with the realtor!! So Ontario's weather has turned a bit cooler?? We are so hot here, with heat advisories!

We did go camping this weekend. I wasn't much fun:rolleyes: The eye that I had the Lasik done on is almost totally painfree so I can see if you had that method Patricia that it would a fairly easy recovery. The eye that was not done by Lasik still has that stupid protective cap in it and it's driving me crazy. It's constantly poking me in the eye and is so uncomfortable and I can't wait to get it out this afternoon. That eye was quite painful and then the pain meds make me nausous. It's got way less painful over the last 2 days. The non Lasik eye s not supposed to be exposed to sunlight for 6 months. So sunglasses/hat to go outside even when it's cloudy. It's extrememly sensitive to light so camping when it's 35 out wasn't the smartest thing. No swimming aloud. Anyways enough complaining, hopefully it will be better after today's appointment, and I can get back to work tomorrow. I'm so limited what I can do that I'm getting really bored.

Well I was so excited to get the protective lense removed today and as soon as it was out I wanted it back in, LOL. It's like a bandage, although it's healing well it still needs the protective lens. So they put another one in. Goodness, it hurt when it was out for about 10 minutes. I guess the cornea is very rough/swollen with this method and every time the eye tried to blink it would catch on the cornea. Yikes, the eye was flowing like a faucet and there was no way I could keep it open. But I feel fine with the lens in, the new one is more comfortable, she said the old one had got quite dirty so maybe that's why it had got so uncomfortable.

I'm going to head back to work tomorrow and we'll try again Wednesday afternoon and hopefully it will be more fully healed. No exercise with the cap in as it's easy to dislodge it:(
I'm so looking forward to going back to work which is a good sign that I'm well rested.

My MIL is picking up the kids tomorrow and taking them to her cottage for the week.:D

Did you get a workout in Patricia?? Any more news on the offer??

Hope you're having a great holiday Laurie!

Good news Kim - our house is conditionally sold. Just have to waive financing this Friday. Close date is Sept. 30th so not too far away. Glad to hear the eye is feeling better with the new lens. How well can you see out of that eye?

Just finished doing BBC - lower body emphasis + 12 UB mission specialist addon. Tuckered!

Trying to find daycare for DS for the school year and having some difficulty. Can't get him into a centre and found one home daycare that looks promising but I would have to switch his school days (if at all possible). Plus I live 10 houses down from the school but she lives about 10min away. I would like to find somewhere in my neighbourhood closer. Will keep on trying....

Morning Coolers,

Had a very nice time last week on vacation, and it was fun to visit with my parents. They sure had some really nice weather. I think that there was only two days when it was hot, but then we where at the lake. :D

Still have a lot of paperwork to get through here at work, so am keeping myself busy. ;)

This morning was Hiit Double Wave Pyramid and 4DS Chest & Back.

Patricia, Hope you are able to get the daycare situation solved. How are you enjoying BBC? Congrats on the house sale, that is good news.

Kim, I'm sure that your eye will get better and better, but that really does sound like it was painful at times. Glad you where able to get a new protective lens.

Have a great day!

CONGRATS Patricia! What a relief to have the house sold! Is this the same buyers that made the 2 hour offer last weekend? Oh daycare stress! I sure remember that. I had a dream last night about the kids' first day of school at the new school, it didn't go so well.

Laurie I'm glad that you had a good holiday. You're right back into the exercise routine! Do you have a rotation that you're following? When do the kids go back to school?

The kids are out at MIL's cottage at the lake so it's very quiet here. I didn't know what to do with myself this evening, no kids, I can't workout, the house is clean, it's raining out so being lazy.

Kim you need some lazy days. Take it while you can:);) Yep, sold to the 2hr guy! We countered and gave him only same day though!

Just finished up BBC - UB blaster along with Abs. Tough workouts.

Laurie - Barry sure is peppy - where is the mute button:D Those 1 min drills are tough. I'm using the green band for most of the excercises but might need to use the black one for the back work. I started out with the black on the legs and after the 1st drill I dropped to green:p:eek:

Morning Coolers,

Today was Athletic Step and 4DS Shoulders, Calves & Core.

Kim, Enjoy your quiet time while you have it. :D I'm following the same rotation that I created before I left on vacation. Still doing the 4DS weights, and adding on different 30 min cardio workouts. The girls go back to school after Labor Day in Sept. It is coming up fast, and oldest DD has a dr. appt. today for her physical.

Patricia, Glad you are enjoying BBC. LOL about the mute button for Barry, he does tend to get a little loud. I think the saving grace in these workouts is Cindy. ;) I used the green bands for a lot of the exercises, that black band is tough. I wonder what the pound rating on those bands are.

Have a great day!

The protective lense is out and it didn't even hurt!:D I guess it really needed that extra 2 days of healing. I can pretty much do anything now except stuff like waterslides, downhill skiing, etc. The sun still really bothers my eyes so driving is hard and I find I can only read a few pages at a time. Both these things will take a few weeks to get back to normal. It takes 4-8 week post-op to get full vision. I think I'll get back into working out tomorrow. Maybe the Body Blast timesavers series for the next week. Got to go have a look at them.

DH and I went out for dinner after my appointment. Kind of a date night:) It sure is quiet around here. :( I spoke with the kids this evening and they are having a great time with Grandma and Great-Grandma (DH's mom and grandma) that they want to stay until Firday:( I'm missing them but I'm glad that they are having this bonding time.

DH and I went to check on the house after dinner, still just a foundation:mad: I know it had to dry for a couple of weeks but it's been three. I'm trying not to get frustrated with the process but goodness it's slow. Our housing market is booming ( no recession up here really). Last month set a record high number of new housing starts so I know the housing companies are just overwhelmed as it's in the news all the time but it's so hard being patient

Laurie, I thought your girls went back after Labour Day same as us. It really varies throughout the USA, doesn't it. Someone on the forums was posting that her son was going back to tomorrow! Sounds like a good rotation! Since we have a few little trips away yet I think I'll just plan one week at a time and then get back into a monthly rotation in September.

Patricia So is the agreement done with the house or are you still in negotiations??
