Your Top 5 Favorite "Mushy" Love Songs!

tneah

Cathlete
Good day all,

After listening to a ton of music this evening, plus music just moves your soul so much (and to take my mind off my aching muscles and keep me from munching) I thought this might be a fun thread...gosh there are so many songs aren't there? Like smells, music has the ability to take you back along so many memory lanes doesn't it?

Here are my top 5

1.'Let Me Be Your Angel"-Stacey Lattisaw-My DH and I both love this song, and when we discovered we were the only ones who actually know who Stacey Lattisaw was, well, this became "our song". Corny but oh so romantic. :)

2."I Go Crazy" -Paul Davis-No reason except its just simply worded and so beautiful to me.

3. "I Won't Hold You Back-TOTO-Reminds me of my 9th grade super-crush, when those feelings are so magnified and pure :)

4. "Woman"-John Lennon-I just love the rawness of this song and the honesty

5.It is a tie between "Between The Sheets" and "Caravan of Love"-Isley Brothers- One is a "throw down" song, the other is a "world peace/love" song, but both are incredible.

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

I'm not really "into" mushy love songs, but there are a few that come to mind:

1. Diamonds & Pearls - Prince

2. You Make Lovin' Fun - Fleetwood Mac

3. Thank You - Led Zeppelin

4. Love So Right - The Bee Gees

5. Too Much Heaven - The Bee Gees

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

I'm only gonna list 4 for now 'cause I know I'll think of my absolute favourite right after posting:p

In Your Eyes ~ Peter Gabriel

Harvest Moon ~ Neil Young

Breathe ~ Faith Hill (not a big Faith Hill fan but I totally get the sentiment and it touches my heart)

Falling Down Blue ~ Blue Rodeo (sad but mushy)

I'll be back with #5:)

Take Care
Laurie

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

Thanks a lot for this thread. Now I've got Too Much Heaven stuck in my head and I don't even have it on my iPod!!!x(

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

not sure if i'll think of five, but here goes...

1. my mushy, corny wedding song - "if you say my eyes are beautiful" by whitney houston and jermaine jackson

2. true companion - marc cohn

3. in my life - beatles

4. there you'll be - faith hill - i heard this for the first time in the car on the way home from my cousin's funeral. he and i were very close, so this has very special meaning to me. guess that makes it not a love song, but still.

that's all i have for now!

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

My all-time favorite is After the Lovin' by Engelbert Humperdink (I'm sure I spelled that wrong!) It's the one song that I always make my husband dance with me no matter WHERE WE ARE!

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

Does it make me a bad person that I can't think of any but one?:p The only mushy love song I can think of that I like is The Power of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. And no, it's not a remake of that awful other Power of Love song that Celine Dion did a cover of.

"The Power Of Love"

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

Feels like fire
I'm so in love with you
Dreams are like angels
They keep bad at bay-bad at bay
Love is the light
Scaring darkness away-yeah

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you

Envy will hurt itself
Let yourself be beautiful
Sparkling love, flowers
And pearls and pretty girls
Love is like an energy
Rushin' rushin' inside of me

This time we go sublime
Lovers entwine-divine divine
Love is danger, love is pleasure
Love is pure-the only treasure

I'm so in love with you
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

The power of love
A force from above
Cleaning my soul
The power of love
A force from above
A sky-scraping dove

Flame on burn desire
Love with tongues of fire
Purge the soul
Make love your goal

I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door

I thought of Maybe I'm Amazed after I posted.

RE: Your Top 5 Favorite

Nancy - I'm not sure how Crying and Just My Imagination are mushy love songs. Aren't they "you ripped my heart out and now I'm miserable songs"? If we're including those, I can come up with tons:p
