Your favorite YOGA videos?

Hi,
I was wondering if you can share your fave Yoga workouts and how you manage to fit them into your rotations? I'm not very patient with them and do them only when I can't move anymore. It's quite amazing how well I feel after though! My collection includes:

1. Bryan Kest : Power Yoga ... by far my favorite because of production and Mr. Yummy.

2. PY4H ( Eoinn Finn ) : I like the Tragically Hips workout

3. PY ( Eoinn Finn ) : He bugs me here but spaces out the push ups nicely and the workout is good.

4. Yoga Conditioning for Athletes with Yee : I love the sequences on the chair. But why don't they put some clothes on? This one is not Power Yoga and it was actually OK. But had unattractive people in it and that wasn't too nice. ( because I had to spend and hour with them )

I tried a couple of Yoga Zones and found them dull. Are there Yoga workouts that look beautiful and don't have a lot of YOGI Mush? Like trying to make your toes glow with your inner light? Breathe into your skull? Breathe into the depths of your groin?

Kest atleast doesn't ask you to do that even though he wants you to stay EQUANAMOUS while he barks.
Finn is just so silly he makes me laugh and topple over.
Yee is fixated on the groin.

Hi Rach! My favorite power yoga videos are the ones you listed. I also like:

David Swenson - SHORT FORMS
Baron Baptiste - SOUL OF STRENGTH
Rodney Yee - POWER YOGA (I think it's his newest)

In most of my rotations, I try to do one "full" (e.g. 60 min) power yoga workout a week as well as to sub portions of yoga videos for the final stretch in whatever workout I did that day. I also occasionally do a "yoga only" week or two between rotations. I'm doing a P90X rotation right now, so most of the yoga I'm currently doing is Yoga X, which I love.

Flexibility is an extremely important component of overall fitness, so I make it a priority to include yoga in my rotations. Plus, as you said, the feeling it gives you is amazing.

Here are some threads that discuss favorite yoga DVD's as well as trying to fit it all in:

HTH!:)

Bodywisdom's "Yoga for athletes"
Quickfix " Power Yoga" (good for a short session)
Brian Baptiste " Soul of Strength" and " Core...??"

Just did Baron Baptiste - "Soul of Strength" friday night. I really like this one.

Also like Bryan Kest - "Power Yoga" and Eoin Finn - "Power Yooga for Happiness" Davis Swenson - "Yoga Short Forms" is my least favorite - he's good but maybe a little dull...don't know maybe its just me.

Rodney Yee really should put clothes on. Thanks for the suggestions...I'm going to check these out. What is Progressive Yoga?

Hi Rach - I think the "progressive" just has to do with the fact that he really stresses you can do these in whatever shape you're in and modify however you like - but gradually work up to how he does it in the video. (much like all other advanced workouts, well... and yoga in general - it's all about where you are now, and how you can push yourself) I think it's just in the title to make it sound better/different. He has all levels and ages doing yoga with him on the DVD.

I have 3 of these DVDs and they're pretty hard (to me)! And quite LENGTHY! I'm thinking of parting with them because I just don't use them that much (one is still in the shrink-wrap). I think if you're a real yoga enthusiast, they might be worth checking out. They got pretty decent reviews.

Hope that helps!
