Your Age In Push-Ups Challenge

A lot of you have decided to try to do as many push-ups as your age in years, so let's make a challenge out of it. If you're very young, maybe you could do twice your age. Say, if you're 25, you could aim for 50, etc. And that would be consecutive, non-stop push-ups, I thought we would clear that up from the beginning.

How about it? Repeat after me, "YES, I CAN do it!

"It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." Mark Twain ;-)

Maybe aim for whatever your birthday is, or for New Year's day if your birthday is tomorrow!

Ooooooooooh, I have a long time then. My birthday isn't until next March:p

I guess I should see how many I can do in a row first. I've never actually done that.

Can we cheat???? Or does it have to be on the toes??
I know I know, but it doesn't hurt to ask!?! LOL
Guess I better double the age thing (26). My birthday is in July, so I better get working!!

Are these "on the toes" push-ups or any kind? What are the guidelines? Can we take a mid-set break (at the top of the move?).

Why did I know it was you HB that started this thread :p Ya know, I am not sure how many I can do in a row. I usually am doing mini sets ~ 20. I have done 30 in a row without stopping. I turn 40 in one month. Wonder if I can work up to that. I know (hears HB's voice in my head) YES I can!!!

YES YOU CAN, Catherine! Get workin'!

I'm in for this challenge. I'm 34 and when I started teh 12 week challenge that's going on, I was able to do 31. I made my goalto be able to do 50 by the end of that challenge, which is sometime in July. SO that's my goal....50 by mid-July.

Well I don't have a hope in heck, I only have 16 days until my birthday and it ain't my 20th, it's my 39th! I've been focusing on fat loss so strength is not something I have a lot of at the moment! :p

I'm starting a 4 week rotation with the Gym Styles and S&H next week. I wonder if 2 weeks of that would be enough....I'm curious! :)

That means I have to do 76? OMG! LOL! Well I am going to give it my 100% best shot today since I am off today from work. I will let you know later how I do. Thanks for the challenge...GREAT IDEA!

Count me in. I'm turning 40 in September. I have my work cut out for me as I can only do four to five on my toes. I can get fifteen to twenty on my knees without stopping. My goal is 40 on my toes by September. That sounds very doable.

Ooooh I like this!!!! :)

I just stopped in to say bawahahahahaha...my birthday is 06/09, I'll be 48...bawahahahahaha. Ain't no way.

HB, I'm trying to do a chinup, cut me some slack.:+

Seriously, I have begun working diligently on the pushups but can I work on being able to do 49 for next year's birthday?

I need to know the guidelines before I accept the challenge. Sheesh, I'm having a hard enough time with all this friggin cardio and now you want us to do push ups--lol!

If I do this, I'm definitely aiming at getting my 49! in before February, because I don't want to do 50!

Again: what are the criteria? One set with no breaks all on toes?
