You guys MUST have this

It will completely change your floor ab work. I tried it at my gym a few weeks ago & liked it so much I ordered one (it's cheap, it's easy to store, how could you go wrong?). I used it for CM sec. 1 & it was so much tougher! I'm thinking I can also use it for stuff like pilates to make it more challenging.

Oh--on a side note, you need a real bicycle pump w/the needle to inflate it--the regular stability ball pumps are too large.

I have a couple of these.
They also work well under the knees when doing push-ups (when the 'on-the-toes' ones get too tough, but the 'on-the-knees'ones are too easy) especially under one knee, with the other leg held off the floor.

Laura,

Do you have a Bosu? What does this offer that the Bosu wouldn't? I'm finding that traditional floor ab work is MUCH harder on the Bosu - I'm LOVING it!!!!! But I probably have it covered with my Bosu, no?

You can also sit on it when in a computer/work chair! It helps you align your pelvis correctly, as if you were sitting on a stability ball. I like mine because it's more discrete than a big stability ball, LOL!

I don't use mine very often, though. Thanks for the reminder!!

Also, I recall Cathe using this to stand on while someone threw a medicine ball for her to catch. She was standing on the disk with one foot. }(

I originally got mine for the same kind of activity after my stress fx. It is a handy piece of equipment!!

And all this time I thought that you were using it because George took the chair!!!:p

Hi m.--I have the bosu also. This thing is a little tougher b/c you're in a more prone position & it's basically preventing your shoulders from hitting a solid surface. This is more cushioned than the bosu, so it makes crunches & stuff more difficult.

I use one of mine as a chair when I sit on the floor in front of my laptop (which is on a Firm Fanny Lifter!).

So sorry to sound *dumb*, how do you use it, other than stand/si on it or with push ups? In CM your laying down, mostly.

Oh stop it, you don't sound dumb. If I saw it w/o explanation I would just think it was a beach pillow or something. :)

You put it under your shoulders for crunches. That's all I've used it for so far, but of course it came w/a little insert w/a variety of other exercises. I haven't gone through it thoroughly but there were some variations on push ups (hands on the cushion or feet on the cushion), some back extension stuff, plus some balancing exercises.

It's well worth it for the $15.

This looks like the discs we use in our school to help out Sensory integration children stay in their seats. They're very comfy!

Workout equipment is so versatile!

My trainer at the gym had me put one under each foot and do squats. It really make you work the on the stabilizing. I feel that it will help me strengthen my ankles with all the stability work.

LauraMax,

Do you put this disc under the small of your back when you do your core works (crunches) or just under your shoulders.

Mine came in the mail this week, and I've been experimenting. What have you found?
