Hey everybody!

I stumbled across the coolest discovery on iTunes today. For those of you who have iTunes on your 'puters, click onto the Music Store and run a search for the title "Compilation Workout". What you'll get is a $10 compilation by Pumpin' House of song remixes, almost every one of which is on a Cathe workout. Awesome awesome awesome. I downloaded this to my iPod today and am looking forward to some fun time on the elliptical.

For those of you who don't use iTunes, I found the same thing available at audiolunchbox.com. Here's the link:

And the name of the game now is: Which video is which song in? (It's driving me a little nuts!)

Hope y'all enjoy this! :)

Thanks, Kathy! I have been using my mp3 player on the treadmill a lot lately and was just hinking I need new stuff to hear!

Now, if I can just get that Elvis remake of "Little LEss Conversation" for download, I'd be on cloud 9!!!!!!

I'll check this out!

Hey Gayle, that remix that Cathe uses of the Elvis song (GREAT song, BTW) is by King Junior, who also has a track on the mix I pointed out. I'll look around and see if I can find the Elvis tune too. :)

P.S. Check out iTrain.com (iTread is for treadmills but is a little fast; iCycle and iClimb are good treadmill alternatives). And have you tried Cardio Coach? It's fantastic! :)

RE: Hey Gayle, I think I found it!

Thanks, Kathy. I am having some PC problems right this moment, but I'll be sure to check it out as soon as I'm all squared away here!

You're getting me all excited! LOL

Thanks for the links Kathy! I am ALWAYS looking for new workout music.

When you say that iTread is too fast, how fast is that? It says that it is made for three levels. Which set would you recommend? Thanks for your help, the previews are so short that I can't figure out how the workouts are structured.

Kathy,
Are there breaks between songs or do they "flow" into eachother(for a step or cardio class)?
Thanks!!
Carolyn

Hey Yas,

I have downloaded one iTread, but haven't done it because the speeds Grace recommends ("jogging" at 6.2 mph and above, running at 7 mph and above) and the music tempo) are way beyond me. There has been a lot of discussion about this at Video Fitness. Here's a quick link to their forums -- I just ran a generic search for iTrain, but you could also run a search specifically for iTread.

http://forum.videofitness.com/search.php?searchid=1166558

The consensus seems to be that the iTreads are quite fast (whew, it isn't just pokey old me! ;-)) But you may find differently, if you're a fast runner. For me, I'm finding that the iCycle is just about a perfect treadmill pace for the most part, and I'm really liking using the iClimb (and iCycle, too) on my elliptical trainer.

It's just another good cardio option, I think, and it's especially nice for me because I have this indoor cardio equipment that I get so bored on, and so would be going to waste. Between Cardio Coach (my favorite of all the mp3 stuff out there now) and iTrain, it's fair to say that new life has REALLY been breathed into my treadmill and elliptical!

Hope this helps!

I am also DYING for some new tunes. But I walk on the treadmill exclusively, generally at between 3 and 4 mph. I can also go to 2.5 with a VERY steep incline for certain much-beloved songs. Would any of these work for me? I use a Creative Muvo MP3 player.

Thanks to those in the know!

Hi Nancy!

Well, hard to say for sure, but my guess is that some of these songs would be too fast a tempo. Suggestion -- pop over to that audiolunchbox link I posted above, and listen to snippets of each song (just press "PLAY" and then "FWD" to go to the next song). You'll be able to tell right away, I think. I plan to use these songs on my elliptical trainer, on which I can go faster than I can do on my treadmill.

I have to walk on the treadmill because my knees can't take the impact of running, and I usually walk around 3.8 to 4 unless I've raised the incline. I do like some of the workouts from iTrain.com for walking on the treadmill -- e.g., some of the iClimbs and a couple of the iCycles. Check those out too!
