Yoga Help

Hi,
Could someone tell me what you find the absolute best yoga dvd to be. I want to start doing yoga once a week, and I want something that will be a good workout as well as stretch/stress release.
Normally I run, do Cathe Step and weight lifting seven days a week.
Thank you for any help.
Jodi

yoga is WONDERFUL but there are so many different types. to suggest a dvd, one would have to know what kind you like. if you go to www.yogajournal.com , it has a lot of information you can use.

if you like ashtanga, i'd say eoinn finn's yoga for happiness dvd, IMHO. but that may not be the kind you like.

Yes....what kind of practice are you looking for? Relaxing/restorative ...more of just stretches, etc or a vinyasa flow with more difficult balancing, strength moves, combined with stretching, etc. Also, how much time do you have? 45", 60", 90"???

Off the top of my head.....and without knowing the above....I might suggest Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti (very versatile), Eion Finn's Power Yoga for Happiness and Power Yoga for Happiness Surf Edition, Rainbeau Mars Yoga for Beauty - Dusk/Dawn Series and Tilak Pyle's Altar of the Heart.

Another good investment are the Namaste yoga DVDs from the TV series and they are only 20 minutes each which are perfect for a session prior to bedtime. www.Namaste.tv

Lora gave some great suggestions. I got the same ones from her a while back and now have the Namaste videos but my new absolute favorite yoga video is the Power Yoga for Happiness. I do that regularly now!

Why thank you so much! When you ask what I want...I am not 100% sure. I do some yoga now. I have done a lot of Yoga Zone. There is one with Alan Finger that I love; it is for relaxation, but it has some sculpting. It is an hour.
I also have the Firm Yoga Sculpt, which is more of a stretch.
I have Bryan Kest and Rodney Yee.
I also have Yoga X, which is crazy hard!!!!

I wanted to know from hard core exercisers what you found effective. Like I said I want to do it faithfully once a week, but I will also add some sort of cardio on a yoga day, so I don't want it to be too long...definitely less than an hour.

What I really want is just a complete and comprehensive routine that includes yoga...for stretch and stress release I guess....to compliment my weight and aerobic routines. I don't want a wimpy yoga workout that wastes my time.

Please tell me, am I making any sense at all?!!!!! ;-) I hope so, and thank you again for your help. It is greatly appreciated!
Jodi
