Hi Everyone,
My husband went to his regular massage clinic but they have now moved and are offering yoga classes. When he was leaving the other day, he signed me up.I am so excited, but should I expect? I have never attended a class of any sort, so I have NO idea what this is going to be like.I have only ever worked out at home.(with just me)
Any advice on the matter would be great. My friends are going to sign up to.I think 3 days a week will be good.I will have to try to squeeze it in there somewhere.

Where I used to work we had yoga classes we had a really good instructor she was very careful in teaching moves correct breathing and posture and reminding us and correcting us as we worked.

We trusted her so much we did shoulder stands (which can be quite a contraversal move). It is hard to say really I haven't had a "bad" instructor in my experience when it comes to yoga and pilates I actually like people who are trained who actually have their own problem areas.

It just makes them more sympathic IMO. Just make sure that you don't try to copy anyone to start go by your body if the moves don't feel right stop or modify if you are not comfortable don't do it is my motto.

Hi Lori,

Call the clinic & ask them what you need. Some places provide everything (mats to props) while others provide nothing. If you take to yoga, you will want your own sticky mat.

Anyone new to a class, should arrive early to introduce yourself to the instructor & let her/him know you're a rookie. I like to position myself where I can see other students rather than being front & center in front of the instructor (who will probably wander around the room).

Loose, stretchy clothing obviously. But beware of the low on the hips pants that's popular now. Also, consider the view down your top. You could be showing more of your assets than you might like!

Have fun.
