Yeee-OUCH and DROOL

Yeee-OUCH...I've woken up in the middle of the night three times this week due to extremely painful cramps in my calves and feet. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it? I admit to working out harder than normal lately...but nothing too over the top. I wear very supportive Avia sneakers and always stretch thoroughly. I've never had this happen before. Any help from this "educated crowd" would be appreciated.

AND

DROOL...Thanks for the sneak peeks of the new videos, but I think it's making the wait even more torturous. I'm like an addict, rushing to this site every morning hoping for that announcement that we all want to see...THE NEW TAPES ARE READY! Alas, I'm just sitting here drooling as I watch them on CatheCam. C'mon, it's not a pretty site...put me out of my misery and give us the good word!

Me too.....

Rofl!!

I am the same way! It's the last thing I check at night and the first thing I check in the morning along with a TON more during the day. My 20 month old daughter has started saying Cathe's name too. It varies from "KickEEEE to Kackie" Too funny

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Yeee-OUCH!

Hi Candori!
I get those horrible cramps too! I've read that if you're dehydrated your muscles will sometimes cramp up like that. So make sure you're drinking enough water. It hasn't always helped me, but it's worth a try!

I know what you mean!!

I check this site countless times a days hoping and hoping!! Unfortunately, I also know what you mean about those awful cramps!! Here's something else you may want to try. Eat a banana with at least 12oz. of water about an hour before bed. I think it's the potassium in the banana that supposed to help regulate muscle contractions and {as knead said} the water prevents dehydration which can also throw off muscle contraction. When I was pregnant with my 1st child I got those cramps and somebody told me to do that and it worked for me, so even if it dosen't work for you, at least your getting another serving of fruit for the day!!! LOL!!!

Calcium & Magnesium

I finished reading "Firm for Life" and I knew I had just read about muscle cramps in there. It says "If your body doesn't contain enough calcium, it will cannibalize the skeleton to make up the difference. Leg cramps, which may indicate deficiencies, are caused by low levels of a companion mineral, magnesium." So you may also want to up your intake of calcium and magnesium. BTW, I had painful leg cramps when I was pregnant too. Boy do they hurt!! Good luck!

I Agree...

with the Calcium and Magnesium. I was having leg cramps and when I started taking a calcium supplement they went away. (I take calcium citrate. I heard it was better than calcium carbonate).
