Yay Helen and Jerry!

I can't get over how scrawny Helen and Jerry are after their time on Biggest Loser. All of them look amazing. I am so impressed. Hopefully they are all able to keep it off.

Helen Won!! I was dissappointed with the guys from NC and the friends from Detroit, their weight loss was low for Joelle and one of the guys but one of the women and one of the guys did get motivated.

You should have labeled this thread SPOILER ALERT because I saw it right before I watched the show on my dvr, and I figured it meant that they won.

It's ok though, I'm over it. ;) I can't believe Helen won!! In no way did I think she had a chance. She looked good though, except for that saggy arm skin, but now she has the money to fix it!

Anyone know when the new season starts?

I'm shocked- I really thought it would be Tara or Mike. I guess this season belonged to the seniors!

The "seniors"???? Isn't Helen 48? Didn't know those of us in our fourties would already be considered seniors :p:D

I only watched part of it. I was hoping Tara would win, her determination was inspiring! I only saw the first half hour and never saw what Helen and Tara looked like but my chin almost dropped when I saw Mike. Wow! What a difference!

I usually don't watch the Biggest Loser because because I think it promotes unhealthy weightloss. I hope for all of their sake that the weight really stays off.

I really didn't want Helen to win, her selfishness really turned me off. She was all about herself, and left her daughter at home to fend for herself. But she did look amazing! 117 lbs!

And YES!, that was a HUGE thing that irked me! They KEPT saying referring to Helen as OLD! Helllloooo!! She's ONLY 48!!! Dang!

Now Jerry was old! :p LOL!... he did tremendous. He should have won the quarter grand for doing that all on his own at home!!

I didn't like that Helen won.

I also didn't like that they weighed Tara in, but because she was last, and Helen won, no one got to acknowledge Tara's weight loss. The show was just over, and Tara stepped off the scale looking embarrassed and ignored. They could have at least congratulated her for her weight loss. Everyone else got good air time. I wanted Mike or Tara to win. Helen was a little too weird looking for me. She needs a lesson in humility also, I think. Maybe Tara did too, though, during the show...

Helen is too skinny

I'm glad she won - shout out to the "old" chick! - but she got too thin. She's 5'6", but she can put on a good 10 lbs. & still be OK. They'll keep it off if Jillian & Bob did their jobs as far as teaching them maintenance eating plans.

I wasn't sure how old she was, but she sure looked older than 48!

Older women should not.....

I wasn't sure how old she was, but she sure looked older than 48!

....let themselves get too thin - that's why she looks older. I'm a tiny bit shorter than her (and several years older!) and know that at 126, I don't want to get any thinner. I never thought I'd say that!

I was so disappointed that Helen won. She is so selfish! What kind of mother chooses herself over her daughter, not once, but twice!?!? And I thought she looked terribly unhealthy, not fit like tara and Mike. Very bummed. But, my guess would be that in the long run Mike and tara will have more long term success and get more career success with the Biggest Loser platform. I wouldn't go see Helen speak if you paid me, but I'd pay plenty to hear from mike or Tara!

I'm bummed Helen won too. I was totally shocked though; when I saw Mike come out in the beginning I thought for sure he was gonna take home the $250K. I agree with the other poster who said she felt bad for Tara after weighing in last and practically being ignored...how rude!! ;) I was really rooting for her but she looked great regardless, like a completely different person from when the show started. I don't know why but everytime they showed her progression through the show I bawled like a baby.

Jerry was so awesome!! I was happy he won. Not really surprised Joelle didn't lose as much as she could have. Even at the finale she didn't seem very into the whole thing.

Agreeing with Chris & other musings...

Oh behalf of myself and the crew of fit 50-somethings around here, GEEZ, Helen is so NOT old!!:D

But DH and I were really disappointed that either Tara or the ADORABLE Mike didn't win. We agree with Chris' comments about Helen. It was really striking to me and DH that she was the "parent opposite" of Ron, who did everything in his power (his sometimes scheming, conniving power!) to make sure Mike went the distance. Ron was all about his son. Helen was all about Helen. Early in the season we thought it was shocking and selfish that she asked her daughter to go home and let her stay on the ranch. And we noticed that when Helen went home for the 30-day stretch before they returned to campus for the final weigh-in and the camera crew was at Helen's house following her around, there was NO coverage at all of her daughter. It was as if Shanon didn't exist. (Compare that to Ron & Mike's house, where poor Max was front-and-center in the coverage of Ron & Mike's month at home.) Then last night to see that poor Shanon hadn't really had much success losing weight at home ... well, suffice it to say that DH and I were saying once again how much this turned us off about Helen.

DH and I also thought Helen looked dehydrated and we were shocked when she weighed in at 117 -- she looked to us to be around 125 - 130. We thought Tara looked fabulous (except for the eyelashes -- what was up with that??), and we were actually teary-eyed when we saw Mike. Since we have 2 young-adult sons we really felt a connection with Mike, and WOW, what a gorgeous young man he is!

Now if NBC would just invite his poor, pitiful little brother Max onto the show, all would be well in our world. ;)

BTW, just MHO but I thought Jerry looked awful. Cadaverous, flabby and ancient.

I'm with you, Becky!!!!!!!!

I didn't watch the whole season, but knew there were two teams from Michigan-Mike and Helen. DH and I were rooting for Mike or Tara-we didn't like Helen's attitude, like when she was asked if she thought she could win and looked at her competition and said yeah, I have a good chance or something to that effect.. Turns out she's from my hometown! Yuck! And maybe they didn't show her daughter much because when she came back home, she was arrested for some sort of domestic dispute involving a bag of flour! http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2009/01/michigan_biggest_loser_contest.html

I do have to say though, that the winners prove that age isn't an excuse in the weight loss battle.

I do agree with you. He looked about 80! And Helen looked WAY older than 48! and too thin to me, but then I thought it was because of the big difference from her starting weight.

Mike and Tara looked THE best! I do hope they continue to do well...

I'm glad Helen won. She and her daughter may have known that the daughter didn't have the ability/drive to be in the final. I don't know why daughter couldn't have continued to lose at home, at least when her mother was working out at home.

I hope Jerry gains 20lbs. He has always seemed older than 63.
