Gin~ I love the PUB/PLB combo premix! Glad you enjoyed it, and WTG with the abs after the workout! whew! i do like my director, and yes, she is new. This is her first year with us, but not as a director. The crier was surprisingly okay, yesterday. She only cried twice and screamed once! not bad for her. Enjoy grandparents day tomorrow!

Marcy~ Welcome back!:) Your workout today seems taylor made for you! we are just the 4 of us for Thanksgiving also this year. Infact, DH's store is going to be open from 6-9pm this year (first time ever) and he is going to work. Since none of us like turkey, we are just having dairy kugel for the main course. My mom is sending me a good pumpkin soup recipe. We are usually just us anyway, or dessert with friends. We are such homebodies, we are happy to just lounge around in pjs and sweats all day and not have to get dressed. !:p

I am so psyched to do my first kb workout tomorrow, whether its the Providence dvd or the 300 meltdown I found on the internet!!
 
Deanie - You sound like us. We're definitely homebodies too. Sorry your DH has to work:(

Enjoy your KB workout tomorrow. I saw the one you posted in OD. Looks good.

I'm still thinking about cancelling STS. Maybe I'll just buy the Ab Circuits. Do you remember if that was going to be $20? As much as I liked the bonus leg workouts, they're so similar to KM, GSL and a few others.

Yes, I'm still on the fence also. We can use so many of her other dvds to replicate STS- CTX upper/lower and piece together PH and ME for the first phase, Pyramids or GS for the second, and PS or S&H for the last phase. I didn't like the legs stuff because, like you said, its very similar to KM and others. Plus I don't enjoy working my legs for an hour! (the Pyramids are bearable for some reason for me.) Also, even though its not my favorite, I still can do P90X if I want a program like that and I already have that. (well, when my brother is done with it ;)) I do think you can buy the abs dvd separately. The only thing stopping me from canceling is DH said its already paid for, so you might as well get it. I am now at the point where I don't think I will be missing anything if I don't get it. Actually, if I get the Providence dvd and really enjoy it, I may cancel STS and get Newport and The Empire State instead. My body responds much better to full body workouts.

Good Morning

Today was kettlebells for me. I didn't get my dvd :( :( :( so I did
the kb meltdown 300 workout instead:
25 vups (I did in and outs)
50 snatches: 25 right/25 left
25 pushups
50 2 handed swings
50 burpees
50 clean and press: 25 right/25left
50 mountain climbers

However, this was really hard so I did it this way:
25 in and outs
12 snatches: each side
12 pushups
20 2 handed swings
25 burpees
12 clean and press: each side
25 mountain climbers

rest one minute

25 in and outs
13 snatches: each side
13 pushups
30 2 handed swings
25 burpees
13 clean and press: each side
25 mountain climbers
and I then added on: 12 figure 8 to a hold (just a fun move!;))

I used a 20# kettlebell for the workout!!


This was really hard, but I made it thru. :D :) :D Its weird because my whole body feels it, but Ididn't actually "work" on one specific body part. And also It was about 20 min, as opposed to a full body workout with weights which is about 60ish min. I definately feel it all over:eek: upperbody, abs, quads, and especially my glutes!!! There was al lot to remember: breathing, snapping your hips, form, and because I was doing it without a dvd, I had to remember what rep I was on!!:eek: So my count may be off. If I wasn't sure what # rep I was on, I did one extra. I hate to be an enabler.....but WOW WHAT A WORKOUT!!!

After the workout, I stretched out to SM#1. If the vcr had been set up, I would have done David Swensons 30min. practice on the short forms video.
Oh, I did a 5 min warmup on the elliptical.

Good Morning!

Today I did SM#3 and then ran 3 miles. The wind chill was in the 20's, but I had so many clothes on I was hot! Today is Grandparents Day and it should be crazy! Tomorrow I will do my longer run/walk and then leave for Houston.

Deanie~You are really getting into this kb thing! WTG with the great w/o!!:D

Marcy~I am with you girls on the homebody thing. I just want to stay home and clean and organize and piddle around the house druing my week off. But not so sure if that will happen! I may be the only one of the 3 of us to do STS now!:(

Gotta run. It's my early day!:eek:
 
Good Afternoon Ladies!

Today turned out to be pretty much a rest day for me. I just didn't feel like getting out of bed this morning. I've been swamped at work all week and traffic has been a nightmare. I figured I had to do something though so here's my big workout for the day:

2 chinups
20 pushups
plank - held for 1 min.

Deanie - What an awesome workout! I commend you for doing the workout without a DVD. I saw your above post. I think P90X is more suited for me than STS. I still want to see the Meso 3, Plyo and Abs clips. I had forgotten about the plyo stuff. That's what I really want to see. It's nice to hear you're really feeling things after only 20 mins. I really can't do workouts over an hour anymore. Not enough time in the morning.

Gin - Sorry we're not all with you on STS. I hope it's going to do great things for you. It was cold here today too. Only going up to 45 but 20s in the am. Have a great trip! Hope your mom's getting better. Is she able to go home today?

Bad news~ My brother called AOS and asked where the dvd is. They never mailed it out!!!!:eek:

Good news~ They will ship it out today or tomorrow and as a "sorry we goofed" they are also including Newport!!!!! So I should be getting it by Tuesday!!:)

Gin~ I hope you have a wonderful visit with your family and your mom is able to come home (or she is home) Will you have access to a computer to check in? Sorry about the whole STS thing.:( Hopefully we will see some more clips soon.

Marcy~ I hope you had a nice rest day. Sleeping in is always nice. I hear you on the hour long workouts.:p I saw on another forum, they are going to show one or two more clips from meso 2 and then will start showing meso 3. Its already so late in november, I'm wondering if end of Dec. is still their shipping timeframe.? HOpefully, they will be putting up more clips before they ship so we can make an informed decision about getting it! Seeing as you usually don't check in on the weekend... I hope you have a great weekend!!!!

Deanie - I guess good things come to those who wait! I'm so jealous! Which one are you going to do first? Is Newport supposed to be more advanced or just different?

So do you think I should get a 20# kb as well? Were you really struggling with 20# or was it a good weight for you? Seeing as we're almost equal in weights (although you're a little ahead of me), I was curious what you thought.

Marcy~ I think a 20#kb would be the right starting weight for you. I wasn't struggling with it and it was perfect for all the excercises except for the turkish get up (which I recommend starting with a 10# weight and working your way up--which is what I did). So for you, like me, I would start with the 20#, but I'm sure you will need the 25# soon. I am definately going to try Providence first. They recommend to do the first half the first time and the second time the second half, then the third time you do the workout to do it all the way thru. I think Newport is more cardio and Providence is more strength. I'm not sure exactly, but I am excited to find out!!LOL:p

Are you getting a kb????:eek: I am excited for you if you are!!!!:D:D:D
 
Deanie - Yes, I do plan on getting a KB. Unless I see something astounding on the rest of the clips, I think I'm going to cancel STS. I think with the benefits of doing total body workouts in half the time and getting results, it sounds like a winning combination to me. I'm sure anything different than what you're used to, you'll be feeling in the beginning but the majority of what I've read is that people love KBs and are getting positive results.

Good Morning

Today is HIIT on the treadmill and abs. I will do it later today. DS12 had a friend sleep over and I'm going to wait till they are settled.

I woke up this morning with nice DOMs (haven't had that in a while) my back, obliques, biceps and legs:eek: Those kb really are really good.

Good Morning!

I ran/walked 5 miles today with my friend. I guess I won't be starting STS until after the half marathon, which takes place at the end of Feb. So, STS will be in March. But, I still want to try it.
BUT, I am also interested in kb, just need to add that to my "wish" list.:eek:
I'll try to post if I can from Houston. I'll be back Tues. I am only taking CS, yoga and CK.
The copy of Paula Abdul's Get Up and Dance came in the mail yesterday from NetFlix! I'll try it when I get back. I don't want anyone to watch me trying that one!!:p

Deanie~Can't believe we made it to 4 pages this week on our thread!;) So glad you are enjoying your kb.

Marcy~I am hoping that you and Deanie see something wonderful on the next STS clips!!;)
