So what rotation are you doing this month?

I ordered Lauren Brooks' DVD which I should be getting any day now. I also just ordered today Mark Blanchard's new true power yoga series - my first purchase of 2009. There was a thread on VF about fitness expenses for 2008 so I decided to tally mine up. I spent $1,397.25 which includes DVDs, KBs, books, trades and SASEs and dance classes. I didn't feel so bad when I saw another person spent $2,600!

I think a kettlebell checkin would be a good idea.

Marcy~ Wow that's alot of $$ on fitness stuff. I don't even want to go there with what I've spent----I'm afraid to:p!!

this is my rotation, I think I posted it before....
monday: empire state
tuesday: alternate 4DS boot camp and kickbox
wedneday: manmakers
thursday: yoga
friday: providence
saturday: some sort of kettlebell workout leaning towards cardio

when I get my ropes, I may do them on saturdays and/or add them in on thursdays with the yoga.

How about you? what is your rotation.

I didn't get lauren brooks- one of the reasons is she does an overhead swing, which Anthony says is no good (see moment of strength #92) and her voice irritates me:rolleyes:. I hope you like her.
 
Deanie - I tried to see AOS #92 but my speakers at work don't work so I can't hear what he's saying. I could see how if you're not careful, you could really throw your back out with an overhead swing without proper form. I'll probably do a similar rotation to you:

On Tuesdays, I might do 4DS kickbox again, an IMAX premix or quick dance workout and then maybe a short barre workout or a short yoga practice. On Wednesdays, maybe I'll alternate between Manmakers and Lauren's DVD. There's a 40 min. workout and also a 12-min. "Quick Full Body Blast" which consists of several one-minute intervals followed by a 30-second rest. The exercises are all from the main workout which is:

1. Deadlift
2. Suitcase Deadlift
3. 2-hand swing
4. 1-hand swing & alternating swing
5. Overhead swing
6. One-arm clean
7. Front squat
8. KB pushups
9. One-arm rows
10. Russian Twist
11. Pullover crunch
12. Mountain climbers
13. Back lunge
14. Squat thrusts
15. High pull, catch & squat

Now that I'm looking at it, I probably have most, if not all of these on the AOS DVDs. Lauren's is supposed to have a good tutorial. If I don't like it, many people want to trade for this. This one has 2-min. intervals with one-minute rests.

Marcy~ I probably missed you but.... basically Anthony says swinging from chest to overhead- there is no benefit- basically you are wasting your time, and you can get hurt.

I am going to start a kettlebell check in tomorrow!:) Looks like there is some interest.

Good Morning

Today was a fun kettlebell workout:


I did the Magic 50:
I
used my 25# kettlebell for this one....

Perform 5 circuits of the following
*5 kettlebell snatches per arm
*5 kettlebell swings per arm
*10 burpees
*Rest 60 seconds and repeat--

since the kids were still sleeping I added on:
(I used my 30# kettlebell for this)
Must complete in 5 minutes---
(it took me 5 minutes to get thru 9, so I went to about 6ish minutes)
10 kettlebell swings + 1 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 2 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 3 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 4 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 5 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 6 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 7 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 8 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 9 burpee
10 kettlebell swings + 10 burpees

Good Afternoon!

Today was PUB and MM shoulders and then PLB standing legs and 4ds calves. I used my new weighted vest and dbbls for PLB.
Tomorrow is my long run of 8 miles. I will be going with another running partner and she doesn't take walk breaks!:eek: Hope I can do it!

Deanie~ your kb w/o today sounded tough!!:p WTG!

Marcy~I am scared to add up what I spent last year on fitness. I think you beat me though!;)
