Xers......Wonderful Wednesday.......

Back for my closing arguments... You shoud see me... I decided to give myself a mini home-facial and I have green stuff on my face, looks like Mrs. Doubfire :+ :+
Well I di not have a good day x( not proud of myself x( . First as soon as I finished my morning first post and wanted to go out it started raining and I mean raining. It lasted all day. I could have done the elleptical or bike but I hate the ones we have here in Lux. We have great ones in MI but here they're cheapies with the cranks....OK...I am looking for excuses and I can't find any good ones... Did you deduct by now that I did not workout today. Well you are right ;( I cleaned the apartment, so that's done and did the errands. PLUS I did not eat very well today. Just a bad girl...:( :(
So instead of having "in my head" what I'm supposed to do tomorrow, it's in my planner, so I am accountable for it. It's phychological!
OK on another note, here is the site for the Yamuna body rolling. It is a self-massage technique using different sizes and consistency of balls that you roll your body onto in order to relax the muscles. It is www.yamunabodyrolling.com

Now personals...

Tracy~~ As you can see I know what you mean by not "bringing it". At least you did something. I just forgot to show up! Let me know how P90X+ is, though DH would kill me if I order any new DVD. I first have to get through this round. I would also welcome any suggestions if I need to sub for Phase 2. My right shoulder is definetely a weak area and it's because I pushed it that I took all the stress in the neck and popped a muscle.

TracyX~~ My shoulder injury is almost 14 years old... I dislocated it with a stupid sudden gesture and reinjured it a year later while doing an arm lock during a Tae-Kown-Do class with my 6'5" instructor. It took me several months of therapy to be back. It's always been weak since. But with P90X really pushing all to the X (!) it's worse than usual. What kind of business do you have? Just curious. ;)

Lea~~ Good luck with the physical. I am happy that the kids are enjoying their Yoga class. It will benefit them so much in the long run. ;)

Sandra~~ Sorry to hear DD#2 is hill. I hope she gets better. Hugs to you and her... I learn German with Berlitz while I am in the US and with an independent teacher when here in Lux. I heard that Rosetta Stone is a very good method for people wanting to learn by themselves.I have the German one for Level 1&2 and it's very interactive. And by the way... my reverence to you for pursuing your PHD...

Carol~~ CST + PlyoX... WOW! Don't think I can pull that one. When I get back (hopefully this weekend) I plan on doing some sort of double but for me adding 40-50 min of Cathe's step will be enough.

AmyX~~ Core Syn is a toughie! DH did it for the first time when we were in Pittsburgh while visiting DD. We were all at the gym (him, DD and me of course) and he was grunting and panting so much that many people came by and asked him what in the world he was doing :+

Wendy~~ How long where you away? Was this for work or personal (or is it too personal and none of my B...)As for working out again, the bug will get to you soon, chatting with all the "girls" here. If you need a push, go check Hardcore Maniacs.. now these are... Maniacs... What I did before getting into P90X is the 4DS rotation for a month. I felt that the heavy lifting got me ready somehow. That's just my 2cents...
Talking about deer. Where we live in MI we have herds of them. They come right to my house by the widows. Of course it's a challenge to keep my garden... which is another subjet. Anyway DS got hit by one 2 years ago and also DH was hit by one here in Lux. It is true, they just charge!
About flying... Well as you can imagine, I'm well equiped. Have a nice cushy neck roll, Bose headphones and I take with me a small Evian sprayer that I use throughout the flight. Drink also a lot of water. As for the feet, well you don't want to see them. Somtimes I can't even fit them into my shoes...LOL

Jeanette~~ I'm with you when it come to the right shoulder joint. That's where my weakness is. As for snow here in Lux, we have none now. Apparently they had some while we were in the US but it usually doesn't stay. But we have plenty of rain though...x(

Laurie~~ Round 3. WOW. This is my first one but I know that from now on P90x will definitely be part of my life (our lives; DH feels the same). What do you do after to keep the momentum going and the gains that you've maid? I'll be looking for your advice (all of you). But first let's get this one done...;-)

Nicole~~ I am glad you are feeling better. Migraines are the worst and it seems that yours were pretty bad. I command you for keeping up with your workouts even though you were not at your best.

Debra~~ What class are you taking? And don't worry about being the oldest. They don't know how lucky they are... LOL As for us, we still have our house in MI. We have an apartment here in Lux.

Well that's all for me tonight. Have a great evening... Night/night.

Back again for another speed post...I did finish my workout...CM3 plus SJP, the step and hi/lo circuit premix....which was a nice change from just regular step. Okay...hopefully I can get to a couple more personals in between stirring dinner and urging the diva to eat. CB will be here in a few minutes to eat dinner and watch the game. He is actually spending the night tonight, which will be nice...usually he is scooting out the door between 10 and 11...so it will be nice to have him close for a while longer.

Personals...

Carol....
I preordered Eoin yesterday on Amazon yesterday...I don't have the link handy, but I just searched for Eoin Finn and it came up. Look at you go with the doubles, you crazy lady!! I am sure you have mentioned before, but what ages are your kids again??

Swifty...
Waving a great big hello to you!! So nice to see you 2 days in a row! I guess your DD had a wonderful Xmas...what was her favorite gift this year? My DD got a Hannah Montana stage that was a big hit...and she is also into Littlest Pet Shop things right now. Class went great....much better than I expected...but I haven't hit anatomy yet!

Wendy...
You crack me up as usual! Poor baby...no cellulite...LOL! You are just a naturally thin and healthy lady...Take it and run with it!! Keep up with the weight lifting...just because it is good for your womanly bones...and helps prevent osteoporosis. And you need a bit of cardio to keep your heart healthy...So that is my only lecture for the day....LOL! I agree we should get full body massages and facials...I was thinking about seeing if I could book us somewhere once we got a final head count. We'll see when we get a little closer, I guess, what folks want to do. Dancing, hunh?? We'll see about that. I don't know if I want to go out with you and your size 1 self...LOL!

Laurie...
Hi there lady! I know it is too late, but I have some "L" words for you....laudable, laughing, lavish, lean, legendary, lighthearted, lively, and I just have to add...lustful! Okay...Your list for the day! I am sure DD will do great in track...she was definitely dedicated last year. Hope you have fun in your meeting tomorrow...not.

Okay...gotta go...I will catch up with everyone else tomorrow...it should be a less busy day for me!

Big smoochies to all!
Debra

Hi all,

I just finished B&G leg blast premix and Magically Hips. My legs still felt fried after S&H and then Hi/Lo Challenge, but I had a good workout.

Everyone has been really chatty. I don't have much time because I've got to fix up some dinner.

Debra - Your comments about school just cracked my up. I'm sure DH has had some school girl fantasies himself. It is depressing when you can be someone's mother. I'm mentoring a girl at work and I could easily be her mother.

Sandra - I was making great progress, maybe better than now, by integrating pull/chin ups once every 10 days. That way, I can keep the injuries at bay. The way to increase the pull/chin numbers is to do a max set, and then pyramid down sets until you get to 1. If 12 is your max, assisted or unassisted, then do 11, 10, 9, etc. that helped my increase my numbers the most (it's not my idea, I read it in an article on mens' fitness). I will go back to that when I finish the x, if not before. I can't take pull/chins twice a week, so I'm only doing them once.

Traci - I love Amy's core workouts. They are so innovative and really engage the entire core.

Nicole - Glad you are feeling better. Was it the flu or just a virus.

I'll be back later,

Tracy

Hi everyone! I feel so bad that I don't have time to read all the posts and do personals but had a minute and just wanted to let you know that I'm still pushing play!

I've followed the Classic Schedule to a "T" so far and have lost one lb. Just finished Day 9. I went back to work on Monday after 17 days off for Christmas and it's just been so busy. Work is really busy with having an intern. Then the last three evenings there has been kids piano and hockey, both kids had dentist appointments, I had a board mtg for a board I volunteer on and this evening I helped ds with his paper route again and of course the usual homework, making lunches etc. I've been happy that I've been able to squeeze in the workouts mostly late at night and DH has also been doing them!

My calf is slowly getting better although it still wakes me up at night as the muscle really tends to start to tighten up. I was worried about doing PlyoX tonight as I think that's where I injured it.IT feels okay now so I'll see how it feels later once it starts to tighten.

Hopefully I'll catch up with everyone on Friday when I have the day off work. Gotta go get dd into bed Kim

Hi! I'm coming at you from the comfort of my bed. Nice. Lovin' the wireless network! So, to catch up with you all today....

Carol....Wow, you're bringing it but good!! You must be ready for a yoga day by now. Will you be doing YogaX this week, I wonder? I enjoy the Imaxes, too. My favourite is Imax3. I love blast #7. I burnt out on Imax2, a couple years ago. It's still fun to pull out occasionally, but it has to be relatively infrequent. I also burnt out on the first one, back in the day when it was the only one. I'm currently enjoying the change of pace with her bootcamp/drillmax cardios. On his website, Eion's been saying for months that the dvd will be available for preorder on Amazon "soon", but there's been nothing. I guess he's too busy surfing....

SwiftAmy....Hello hello! Are you doing Round 3, and just haven't mentioned it? It's so funny what some people find hard and others don't. I've never had a problem with those superman/bananas, but can't do a handless Dreya roll or levitation hold to save my life. And although I can now do them all, I still don't find those mason twists "easy."

Wendy....Well your earlier post about Less being More just goes to prove that stress consumes calories. If you're happy, then I'm happy for you. I wonder whether you'll see your former self return after a few more weeks of being home? I imagine building a house in Thailand took some energy? I hope you get the guidance you're seeking to decide whether to adopt a baby. That can't be an easy decision. Even if you decide to adopt, how do you decide which one? It would be so difficult to look at all those babies and say "not you." The chai tea would taste even better with real sugar :) Honey goes well, too.

Jeanette....The X seems to get everyone, one way or another, doesn't it? All this hard work is effective on building muscle, but the joints seem to really get some wear and tear. How was the spin session tonight?

Laurie.....Oooooh, what L word did you use to describe yourself? Tell us about this meeting; I'm intrigued. I'm liking the BC-type drills, too. I think I like them because, for the most part, they work you pretty hard without the high impact of many of the IMAX blasts.

Lea....You get to hire cleaning staff?? I'm so jealous!!!!

Traci....LG with 6# ankle weights?? Ooooooh, that's gotta hurt! I don't know if I could endure that. You ordered the BB pull up bar? REEEEALLLY! You won't regret it. Oh yeah, Strike ZONE. I knew Box didn't sound right. If you thought you saw Bad Sandra this morning, be glad you weren't here at 4:30am when DH finally roused himself enough to mumble "What's the matter with Kate?" I threw an F-bomb at him and stormed out of the bedroom for the 5th time in an hour. Debra throws glue, I throw words. Push ups against the wall today? Wow, you're dedicated! If I couldn't at least do them on my knees, I'd probably give up. Are wall push ups worth the time for someone who is used to handling the harder versions?

Nicole....Thank heavens you're on the good side again. That sounded like an utterly dreadful illness. Yet you managed to do IntervalX? You're crazy! Btw, how was it, compared to PlyoX?

Debra....Oh my gosh, your post brought me back to my early undergraduate days. I was the 19 year old, admiring the "mature" students with their determination to improve their education. You're the mature student LOL!!! Dear lord, if I went back to school....I'D be the mature student!! Dang, you'd have thought I'd at least have something to show for the intervening years, wouldn't you? If I'd gotten the leg compliment you did, I'd have just thought, great, what I'm doing now is enough, and left it at that. But no....you have to go and step it up LOL! I'm glad you hurt ;) I look forward to the grand unveiling of the lean rotation. I don't know yet how much time I'll have to play versus work. I don't plan on disappearing, though. Just practice my editorial skills a bit more. I hear good things about this thing called "brevity." Thank you for the communications course synopsis. So, it's interpersonal communications, I see. The sociologist in me immediately thought it was about how society in general communicates, and the impact of various mediums over time on how we do so. What you're describing sounds more like the social psychology course I took as an undergrad. It seems ironic that a course on communication uses obfuscating language LOL!

Christiane....Thanks for the Rosetta Stone suggestion. I'll check that out. Don't feel badly about not working out today. You're in a recuperative week, and rest is your primary concern. Thanks for the nice words about my phd endeavour. I hope I can one day say that I've actually completed it.

Tracy....Very nice workout for you today! Those legs are toasty-toast, no doubt! I really like your pull/chin up suggestions. I've gotten excellent results by focusing on the negative for a few weeks. I can knock out a few unassisted ones throughout my workouts. Now I'm trying to concentrate on the positive half. I'll adopt your suggestions in my post P90X life. I'm thinking of dropping the back work on Fridays, too. I just don't think my elbows are up to it.

Kim....Wow, good for you for still pushing play, with all you're juggling. There's no obligation to be as long-winded as some of us can get; just do your best and forget the rest!! We enjoy just hearing about your progress.

Okay, I won't be going back to yesterday's personals. This message is long enough already. My meeting with my supervisor went well today. He's been struggling with some serious personal situations, on top of being the departmental chair, and was very apologetic about how long it's been since he's been able to deal with my writing. I feel so badly for all he's been through lately; he's aged quite a bit since the last time I've seen him. Stress is so unkind. Anyhow, we've set up a schedule that, if all goes as planned, will see me defending on (or about) June 15. I don't have much to do for the next few weeks except to reread my thesis and get back up to speed again. In mid-February I'll get his full feedback and have to put my nose to the grindstone.

I've got to get to bed; it's way past my bedtime. I guess tomorrow morning I should do some kind of yoga. I'd like to do some Shiva, but don't want to do anything with lots of sun salutations or vinyasa's. I want to stay off the elbow. Not sure yet what I will do.

Yawwwwn,
Good night!
Sandra

Good evening,
Well, I did not get a Garage Boys spin session in as there was drama in my parent's house this morning and my Dad wanted all of us kids to come over and help with a problem they are having with my nephew. Ends up the meeting never happened, but by the time I knew it was cancelled, it was too late to go to the spin class. I may try the spin session again on Saturday. The good thing is I did do over 1/2 of AbX and then switched to Amy's Dome Challenge workout and was glad I did because it kind of mixed things up. It's all good.

Wendy, I'm so jealous about your good results with unclean eating and minimal structured workouts. That would be my dream life! Maybe I'll give you the title of the "laziest Xer with the best results". I'd say if you like the results, go for it! I would! LOL re: Traci's response to your post!!! Some people get so angry about anyone wanting plastic surgery done. What's the difference between that and braces? No one gets mad about that choice. I had braces so guess I can go to my next level of cosmetic improvement with a thigh skin lift. Meet you in Thailand? I'm hearing that the new boss only has a couple more months until retirement so doubt he's going to set the world on fire with new changes. The chai tea recipe that I originally had included sugar instead of Splenda. It had 99 calories per serving and I'm sure with less sugar would taste very good. Yes, Grandma loves her Thursday hair appointments. When we were young, she always wore her hair in a bun. We'd be so mesmerised watching her get her hair ready. It was a "fake" bun though. She just wrapped her hair around the bun. Kind of like cheating, huh?

Laurie, your meeting tomorrow sounds very interesting. What will your "L" name be? If I did your 30 minute job around here with all of the ice and snow, I'd be "limping Laurie". Are you going to bring your Xer T-Shirt? Funny about your GM's nickname. My GM never was much fun when we were growing up. She always wanted us to lower our voices and have "manners". Even bought us a book about manners. She was very prim and proper and still is. That's why when she mentions the steamy novels, it makes me think she's a real person. I think I might cook a little better than your GM. That concoction doesn't sound too appetizing. When we were kids, we were pretty easy to please foodwise.

Sandra, glad we could "center" you today. How did it go at the University? Goodness, -6 degrees is darned cold! I'm so thankful for my car in the garage every day. Poor DH's pickup sits outside and he has to scrape.

Nicole, so happy to see you back with us. Hopefully the worst is over. Glad the migraine didn't materialize. I've never had one before, thankfully, and never want to experience one. Usually when I get a sore throat, it goes into a full blown cold. Maybe I've dodged the bullet this cold season?

Debra, so glad that school went well for you today. LOL about CB's schoolgirl! Yep getting off a half hour earlier in the day would definitely help me to get more biking and golfing in, also going out to the woods with DH in the summer as he gets off work at 3:00. I feel pretty positive that the new boss will grant it. Yep, gravity is pulling everything on my body down to the ground. You too? I hardly think so. Not a schoolgirl like you! Take advantage of any elective surgery you can get while you're still eligible. Think Wendy can get us a group rate. What was for dinner tonite? Know you are having a nice time with CB.

Traci, got to say that I'm not loving pushups this time at all. I'm just feeling them too much in my shoulders. Both of them are a bit off tonight. Can't be having that.

Kim, great job on sticking with the rotation. I've modified so much you would not even know I'm doing P90X. My first round, however, I stuck to it almost exactly. You are a busy lady, just post when you can and don't worry about the personals.

Must get a move on. Oh yes, talked to Dell and they are sending me a new laptop. No questions asked, very good service so far. Hope it doesn't take too long. I enjoy having the laptop and being out in the living room with DH.

See you in the morning,

Jeanette

Christiane, you gave me a visual with the Mrs. Doubtfire LOL! Sorry about you not getting the workout it, but hey, you got the apartment cleaned. I think that counts. I almost thought of taking a rest day today, but was glad I still went thru with CST. Sorry to hear about your shoulder problems. I have a thing about dislocations. I can't hardly even bring myself to talk about them so I won't go into what caused my fear. You are so wise to listen to your body. Hopefully, the rain will let up and you can get out for that walk/jog soon.

Sorry girls,

Here it is 9:00 again and I didn't get back for personals. DH said I needed to get the house in order since it's a disaster. I am barely getting the top layer off the mess but I'm trying:p

I really liked the IntervalX+. It was tough but went by fast. I think the set makes a great addition to P90X and I look forward to using it. I don't know when I'll be able to add on the plus series to the regular one. Maybe I'll do it for the last phase. CS&T kicked my butt today. It's amazing how fast you can lose your strength.

I didn't get a chance to welcome Christiane, so WELCOME! You and Kim are doing a great job at keeping up with all of us crazy girls:D

I'll be back to chat tomorrow,

Nicole

Bring it!!!
