Cathlete
Happy Good Morning Xers! Looks like our team was up for a chat fest late last night! I am going to shoot Jeanette X an email if we don’t hear from her this morning…..

Let’s see- yesterday’s workout….. No bike ride- It was ME vs. Mosquitoes and they won! I did a 20 minute BBC Non TM Cardio instead- those suckers wipe me out! Moved on to some floor booty work and quickly realized my booty was waaaaay to sore from GS Legs on Monday so I did 30 minutes and called it a day. I can sure tell I am moving into the “Moderate Zone” of cycle workouts… My energy is waning and recovery time for my body is taking longer. I tell my Dr that these are still the days I actually feel my age! We’re working on that! LOL this is also when I start modifying intensity of my workouts to avoid injury. I also like to split them up into AM/PM to avoid excessive fatigue which translates into CHOCOLATE FEST!

Today::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
AM*Lower: BBC (30 min)
AM*Shoulders & Back: BBC
PM*Cardio: KickMax (30 min)
PM*Stretch or Yoga

Just a few catch-ups from last nights little party that I slept thru…..

Wendy: LOL- We are on day 18 of our cycle dear…. We have a few days here where we need to be careful of that dip in energy & focus. Maybe split Tony into 2 each day??? So sorry about the blisters! OUCH! I guess it could have been worse- blisters from Banana Rolls? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Phil’s a delightful husband! Do you think he is pushing himself so he can JUST GET DONE ALREADY?! Well if there cant be hanky panky with Tony then why would I come? I cant wait to see his new X stuff just because I know he’s buffing up before filming for me… I mean- FOR US! I want to see a hot man in my generation for a change! I adore older men- but must admit most don’t age nearly as well as we workout queens!

Cheryl: Well aren’t you a sneaky thing posting so late! All that internet shopping must have wired you! TOO cute on the clothes choices! I was going to ask our 4 R/T Warriors if new clothes were part of the plan!

Nicole: LOL on DMV…. I’ve been in Texas for over 15 years and I STILL call their DPS the DMV and people always comment- You aren’t from here are you? LOL

The boys have SPA day again today…. They are fully grown out after just 2 months! Shave Shave Shave! Sandy doesn’t have to go because of her little antics last time but she does have to go to vet for nail clipping!

Great Day to all!!!

Hi all,

We didn't get the elliptical put together last night:( By the time I showered it was almost 8 and DS said that he really hasn't been feeling very well. It may be the heat and for some reason we've had a surge in pollen again.

Today is legs and yoga. I may do S&H or PS legs, but I haven't decided yet. My leg rotation is really complicated: pick one of Cathe's leg workouts and do it on Sunday and Wednesday. Then of course yoga and it will probably be Shiva something or another.

Traci - I definitely get fatigue from GS legs. That is such a great workout and the floorwork has the least dread factor for me. My little Buggar will have to be shaved again too before the summer is over. He's already growing out and we have a lot more hot weather coming our way. Did I miss a post that Jeanette is out of town, or is she just MIA? I hope that nothing is wrong.

Hi to all, and I'll check back in a little later.

Tracy

A quick good morning folks! Haven't had time to read everyone's posts but looks like everyone is staying motivated and working hard. I just got back from my trip yesterday afternoon, unpacked and then DH and I went out to the woods and relaxed with the dogs.

The wedding was wonderful and I had a very nice time visiting with my sister. Also met up with 2 friends that I hadn't seen for over 30 years. One of them I didn't have much in common with, but the other one I think I will maintain contact with thru emails.

Re: workouts, I took a couple DVD's with me and was able to do Christi Taylor a few times and Cathe SJP hi-lo routine a couple of times, other than that, it was walking to the store for coffee (Wendy, no DD in that town) and some other walking. Eating was atrocious but I enjoyed my time and the yummy ice cream treats. Back on the wagon again.

Probably will pull out a Jari Love workout this morning. Will BBL!

Jeanette

Hi!

I'm off to do Low Impact Step, then tack on GS Legs floorwork. I was going to do the BG floorwork, but then the Traci/ys reminded me of GS. So, that's what I'll do.

I'm grocery shopping this morning, so will drop by later today for more chat.

Great to see you back again, JeanetteX!!!

Cheers,
SandraX

Good morning ladies...No time for personals right now...I should be able to really get back into the swing of things next week. My only workout will be moving boxes and doing laundry. I keep shifting boxes around without much unpacking...but I am trying to get organized! I went to the grocery store yesterday to the tune of over $400!!! I had to buy all of those things that you just normally have like mayo, mustard, soap, olive oil, etc. Nice, hunh? I don't think I bought any real food! The painters are starting today...which is good....I'll be happy to get going on that. We did get the irrigation system put in yesterday, but it doesn't seem to work...or maybe I am just too dumb to figure it out. Traci, my pooch is heading to the groomer today too.

Okay, gotta run!

Good Morning,

I have to mention this yesterday I posted a Dear God Poem in OD. Please read a few of the girls comments. I deleted the poem, because it would have gotten nasty. But, I thought the poem was interesting if one had any morals about themselves.

One of the girls called me a TROLL:7 :7 :7 :7

Good morning,

Today's workout was Jari Love's GR 1000 and will do an easy bike spin after work and grocery shopping. Have the STEEP hill climb competition tomorrow night and I haven't ridden since last Wednesday when I did that same hill. I'm hoping to break my record and get into the 39 minute area.

Debra, so glad you are back. We all really missed you. Hope the vacation was a blast with your DH. $400 for condiments, huh? LOL! Is your DH still here from Russia? Hope he gets to stay for a while.

Hi Sandra! It's good to be back, probably have a pile of work at my desk this morning. Oh well, do my best and for.... I like the floorwork from GS Legs. Heck I like any kind of floorwork. I like doing chest work when I get to lay down. Do you see a pattern here?

Tracy, guess the eliptical arrived? Hope you can get it put together soon and hope that your DS is feeling better. Know you will go crazy on that thing. You sure are an inspiration to me for having done so well with a back injury. So many people just give up and don't push at all. You've overcome by being smart and listening to your body.

Traci, good to know that you were concerned about me. I missed you all and even read posts while I was down at my sis's house, but didn't want to take the time from her to be posting. Day 18 of your cycle!!! Bummer for me because I'm almost in synch with you and Wendy. Hot men in our generation, hmmmm, most of the guys I know (that I don't bike with), don't seem to care too much about their eating or working out. I think guys are basically just not as vain as us women, or as obsessed by how they appear to others. A lot of them are even proud of their gut and will pat it lovingly... Your dogs are grown out already? Hope it goes well with the clipping, seems like one of them was upset the last time if I remember right. My little Tillie was so happy to see me yesterday. She gave me quite the welcoming and then widdled in my lap. Couldn't get mad at her though.

Hi Teddygirl! I'll have to go check out the poem, you've got me curious now. Hope you are doing well. How's the protein eating plan going? Can you tell a difference?

Got to run now, looking forward to posting more tonite.

Jeanette

Morning Xers,

Doubles: Ph3/Wk12/Day3/Rnd2
Workout: Back & Biceps / B&G Stability Ball Abs / 3 Mile Run

My hair is now void of gray.:D Now I'm ready to play the Countess of Derby at the fair. No ugly outgrowth. And they offered me $20 of free product, so of course I took full advantage of that. My hair will have some shine, and she also gave me a sample of an intense conditioner that you leave in for 3-5 min and then rinse. Also have beautiful eyebrows to go along with the hair. :D

Had fun at volleyball last night. The team we played had the same ability as us, so the games where really close. They won 2 of the 3 games we played. I think we could have won the last game, but two members of our team where worried about the next game they had to play at 9. So there heads where not in the game. I managed to get a spike with the nets set for men. :D I did the cardio from BBC Arms and Abs also.

Have to start checking out what we will do on our vacation. My DH took off the 3rd week in July. We will take one day to go to the water parks in WI Dells. It is like the Water Park capital of the world, and lots of fun. DH wants to go to the Museum of Natural History in Chicago. Neither of us has been to it, so that should be a good time. Maybe one of the days we can head out to Devils Lake for a hike and picnic. Just don't want to see any snakes.

Traci, You are right BBC cardio can really make you tired. :) I like how you can get so worked in just 20 min though. I think I may be trying a BBC rotation after my XX is done.

Debra, Glad you are able to check in with us, and hope that unpacking goes quick for you.

Tracy, Hope you are able to get the elliptical set up today. Hope your DS feeling better?

Jeanette, Sounds like you had a great time on your trip. So fun that you can meet up with old friends.

Wendy, You only have a little bit of the X left. You can do it! Look at the workouts this way. You only have to do this workout so many times. That is how I got through my last few weeks of my first round of the X. :) Since this is my last week of the weights, Friday will be my last ARX. :D See how happy that makes me. :D

Sandra, You are having a great time with your cake creations. :) This will be a great new business adventure for you, I can see it right now. :) Sergeant Sandra will have to figure out what her new business will be called. :) A friend of mine has been working with fondant, she made a cake for her sons wedding that was beautiful.

Amy, Quit looking at that scale, you are building that muscle really good. :)

Nicole, It's the DMV in our state too, so I knew what you where talking about. :) You don't have much longer with the X either. Let's do our best. :)

Have a great day!

Laurie

Jeanette: glad everything went well and you had a wonderful time, I love weddings :)

Last night, I did legs & glutes (standing only) I was tired, like I am now. I cleaned my apartment for about 2 hours boy was that a job then I watched BET awards, did anyone see it? I finally fell asleep but I woke back up around 3:30 and been up ever since. I almost called off this morning but I decided not too, only one more day left than I’m home free.

Tonight’s workout, MIS this will be the last week of doing MIS then back to GS, S&H and PUB. I’ll chat later.

Teddygirl~

Workout completed for day… Just decided to get it done as I KNOW I wont have much drive later this afternoon. ..
Doing BBC I can sure tell I don’t do endurance strength work much!

KickMax- W/U + Drills 1-3 + Stretch
BBC Shoulders & Back
BBC Legs & Butt
90 minutes total

Wendy: Before I forget…. The gal that leads the BBC Legs/Butt is somehow EXACTLY how I imagine YOU! You look similar but I somehow think your personality is just like hers! So that means I thought of you as I was doing my booty today… I was NONE TO HAPPY with you SEVERAL times this morning!

JeanetteX is back! Happy Dancing!!! I swear Jeanette I thought I read you were already back from the wedding! Hug Tillie!!! She obviously missed her mommy! How cute about her little accident! The true sign of LOVE!

TeddyGirl: LOL on your post yesterday…. They are STILL over there arguing and the dang things deleted! Your workouts are really something! You go girl!

LaurieX: happy vacation planning! I need to do more planning but I kind of take the spontaneous approach… Our vacations ALWAYS include water, fisghing and we fit in stuff other than that IF we have time! Even when we went to Cabo to get married DH fished off shore the first half of trip and we got married the day before we came home… PRIORITIES! Congrats on last nights SPIKE! You probably amaze those 20 somethings! You sound like you are all nicely groomed now! LOL ENJOY!!!

DebraX: Good thing I’m not your helper as I tend to reorganize the boxes too!

SandraX : So happy I could give you a new perspective on floor today! You crack me up… I wish I had your passion for the floor work.

TracyX: Do you know I have NEVER opened SH Legs before? Whats it like…. Does it drag on & on like SH Biceps? (imo)….Hope the elliptical is put together by the time you get home tonight!!!

Hi to all who follow…..

Good morning! Yes, it's morning and I am up!! Imagine that!

We have a trench in our yard that goes almost the entire way around the edge of the property. Our neighbor is putting in a sprinkler system for us and started hand digging the trench for the pipe yesterday around the edge because that's were all the power, cable, phone, and gas lines run. Today he's bringing out a friend of his to run a trencher in the rest of the yard. Traci.....can DH come and mow my yard too, while he's at it! It's dry...... ;-)

Anyway- DH's appt didn't happen yesterday after all. They called and wanted to know if we could come in a couple of hours early and since neither one of us had showered, I didn't think that it was going to happen. DH called them back, found out what was going on and rescheduled his appt......the pain management doc and his wife are in the process of adopting a baby from China and a last minute emergency meeting with the lawyer came up yesterday.

Lower body is humming nicely. I am truly enjoying the freestyle thing for now. I'm basically doing 1 lower body day, 1 upper body day, and 1 total body weight workout alternated by 1 HIIT sprint day (today, ugh!) and 1 HIIT resistance cardio day. My 6th day I either do a steady state cardio or go out for a walk. I'm told that those HIIT session are awesome for fat stripping!

Wendy- Please, please, please do NOT let me put you to shame....I don't have to chase after 6 kids!!! I only have to keep track of myself, DH and 3 cats! Not to mention that the house looks like the mail truck threw up on my kitchen table!!!

Jeanette- Welcome back!! I am glad that the wedding went well and was enjoyed by all! (in more ways than one!;-) )

Traci- LOL about Sandy getting out of her SPA day! Obviously she's not a girly-girl!!!;-) Give me a spa day ANYDAY and I will love you forever!!! Speaking of which, I need to get my toes done, too! Should I take Sandy with me??? Just kidding! How's that workout room working out???

TeddyGirl- You poor thing....first you get called a man, now a TROLL??? What's up with that? I guess that they didn't notice that you're on the boards all the time! At least in the Check-in!

Thanks, everyone for keeping DH in your prayers. He's still getting used to the new diagnosis and I am not hanging over his head about what he eats. He's 46 yrs old, old enough to know what he's supposed to eat and what he's not. I don't like to nag at him about anything, so I really try to keep quiet, but it's hard some days.....especially when he thinks that he can have a root beer float and not suffer the consequences! I also have a hard time not riding him about not eating all day long! That's a huge problem with him is that his pain levels get so he actually is nauseated some days and can't eat, so he will go all day with maybe a bowl of cereal.

I had to laugh the other night. When I was at work, on the different floor than I usually work, one of my patients complemented me and called me 'graceful'. I told that that was a new one on me, because I'm usually such a klutz....just look at my legs, they are always bruised up from me running into things. She said, "No, you have so much on your plate with your husband and a demanding job, yet you handle it with such grace and still have compassion and empathy left over for people like me!"

I think Teddygirl's endorphins are contagious. I didn't get to CST until 11:45. Even though I felt wiped out, I couldn't fall asleep. Maybe it was the sounds of Phil grinding down the stucco in order to fit the new door??? :7 Anyhow, he finally got the door up around 2 in the morning. By then, the endorphins were flowing. I didn't fall asleep until 5:30 AM.

One nice thing about it... I discovered Margaret Richards is on PBS at 5 every weekday morning. :) Of course, I worked out with Margaret before falling asleep to some Chinese? lady doing Yoga at 5:30. I think her name is Wai Linn? I just may set my alarm clock weekday mornings now! :)

Jeanette, you're back!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? Didn't you come home Sunday??? }( Don't go back and read. Stay here and chat. I got a Roadmaster bike at the community yard sales for $20. Then I got my eldest dd a Trek 220 mountain bike for $75 from craigslist. :) I have a few questions: I would like to get another used bike for riding around here since I'm keeping my Roadmaster up at my friends. There's a Schwinn Frontier in great condition for $100. Should I get it? What type of bike should I look for? It would be for once a week, pleasure riding, up and down hills, possibly back country roads. Oh! How do you measure the incline? Do you have a gadget attached to your bike? I swear some of the back country roads had KILLER hills. I couldn't do more than 10 miles. Glad you were able to enjoy the wedding without DDcoffee. }( Isn't it strange to see how far apart you've grown from people you haven't seen in a LONG time. I only have one gf that I've keep contact with. She keeps me up to speed with everyone else from jr. high and high school. Enough monopolizing your time. I'm GLAD you're back home!!!

Time for me to open up another window to continue personals.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!!!
Wendy

Traci-X: Thanks for the cycle update. My hormones are raging. Phil's praying it's a short cycle month for me so the toxins can flow away!}( GROSS, I know. You have to forgive me. I'm still physically sick which wears me down mentally!:7 I'm trying to stay away from the chocolate ie. Take5 candybars.:9 I had strawberries with whipped cream instead. Okay, and a small slice of pound cake too. :9 :7 }( You know that sounds like a GREAT idea. I'll do half of Plyo this afternoon and the other half this evening. That should help with the coughing fits I'm still experiencing. The phelm is way down. I wonder if all the dust is making my cold linger. You're right about Phil wanting to be done already. I keep reminding him that he's only one man with a labor intensive full time job. He's only asked a friend for help two times (replacing the support floor joist & hanging wall cabinets). I love his work ethic. But, he needs a break. LOL about older men. Phil is 9 months younger than me. He doesn't let me forget it either! He's not allowed to call me his old lady though. Older or younger, Tony does look HOT period! I was talking about Tony Snow!!!!:p }( }( But, our Tony's body is just as HOT as Tony Snow's thick gray tresses, tall lanky body, and handsome face. :D Only 90 minutes of workouts? Yes, you're in the take it down a couple notches cycle stage!! Also known as my bring it stage. LOLOLOL Now, I have to buy BBC!!! Does she have her personal whip too? ;-) You might be swearing, but you'll thank me when you booty is high and firm!:D Hope your babies enjoy their spa day!

Okay, this post is going to be a Traci personal. BBS for more personals. Gotta make a DDcoffee run. Anyone want anything while I'm there? ;-)

Ballistic Hugs!
Wendy

Phase 3/ Week 11/ Day 3/ Round 1

B&B

Today is the glamour muscles. I guess we'll see how "glamorous they look in a few weeks. I have been eating really clean so I haven't counted my calories since I came home from vacation. i guess we'll see if it all pans out:)

Jeanette, Yeah, you're back!!! I thought you were going to be gone until yesterday but I didn't remember that until Monday:) I'm glad you had a fun time at the wedding. I felt the same way about my eating on my vacation but I was so motivated to eat right and workout once I got home. Good luck beating your time on the hill climb!

Traci-X, I'm glad you are taking it a little easier. I was picturing your body going on protest soon if you didn't give it a break:) Your easier is my everyday, so have fun with it!

SandraX, Sounds like a fun workout this morning. Have a good time at the grocery store, I did that yesterday.

Debra, Isn't it amazing how much all of that stuff costs? I have a darling grandma who took my DH and I to buy that stuff when we got our first place.

Laurie, Sounds like good fun at volleyball yesterday. I hope you have a great vacation in July. It's so fun planning those things and even more fun to go:) I'm glad your hair is shiny and lovely once again!

Amy, What a nice thing to be said about you. I would have to agree:)

Wendy, You crack me up:):p

Tracy, I sure hope it cools down for you soon. The heat here in San Diego is a pretty dry heat in comparison to other states so I shouldn't complain. I'm nervous though because last year we had a week where that it was 110 degrees. I get very irritable when it is that hot!

Hi all,

Just a few minutes to check in and see what everyone is doing.

Traci - S&H legs has the dread factor for me. I'm not sure that I can take that slow mo stuff today. Do you have Absolute Kickboxing? There have been a lot of comments about it, but I don't remember you saying anything. Are you still doing kickboxing regularly?

Wendy - I hate it when the hormones rage. Can you tie it to anything that you've eaten recently?

Nicole - Code orange here today. Yes it stinks. It's 96 and feels like over 100. That is one good thing about camping out west; the weather is pleasant.

Amy - Uggh about DH and the diabetes. I'm sure it's hard to watch when he doesn't take care of himself. I'd probably be like you though. He is old enough to take care of himself. Nagging never works anyways.

Debra - Food costs so much. I feel like I spend every spare penny on food. I have to go to Costco today. I never get out of there for less than $250 and we do not eat extravagently.

Off to work.

Tracy

Well after much debate w/ DH for the past several days we decided to head to bay this weekend for a long stay until the evening of the 4th. He’ll go down Friday night with boys- Sandy & I will leave Saturday morning some time- He has to work Mon & Tuesday so I’ll stay at bay with kids & he’ll come back down Tuesday afternoon. My only concern is Sandy and the stairs for so many days but worse case scenario is DH has to come down one night after work and pick the boys up if I have to take Sandy home. I think we’ll be ok tho- I’ll double up on her arthritis meds starting tomorrow.

I’ll take my lap top so I can stay in touch and plan on taking some Yoga DVDs as my lite cardio- for strength I’ll just use the TimeSaver DVD at bay and use my 8# wts that are down there- I’ll take a band as well for variety…. That should be fine seeing as I am pretty fatigued this week anyway. 5 days of light stuff will do me good I’m sure.

Back to catch up on personals later…..

Tracy-X: I hope my hormonal, internal, momentary craziness is due to food and not premenopause. I think it's due to my cold. I'm not a good sick person. I am getting better. I didn't get any DOMS from CST and I brought it on at midnight!!!:D Sorry you weren't able to play with your new toy last night. I'd be too impaitent and end up trying to put it together myself. I'd end up with a huge mess. Good for you for exercising self control. Enjoy Shiva. I'm impaitently waiting for Eion to arrive.

Sandra-X: Talk to me about GS legs. (Anyone else feel free to chime in too.) How much weight does she use? Is this something that my fat ladden legs would benefit from doing? I'm thinking of getting GS instead of the presale dvds. I already have the X and S&H if I want to heavy it up. Try to enjoy grocery shopping. It's one of my least favorite activities to do!!!

Debra-X: Lucky you! Painters! OTOH, stocking the pantry would suck! Enjoy your weeks worth of functional fitness. It should more than keep you maintained. You'll be looking great by the end of the week!!! But, how would I know????? You still need to post your bikini ladden self on picturetrail. No rush! I understand the need to eat and wear clean clothes and unpack. I'll practice self control and paitently wait for proof you're not a man!}( ;-)

Troll Teddygirl ;-): You sure know how to stir up a contraversy! LOL I didn't see the original post that some found offensive. I'm sure you didn't intend to piss people off. I'm often accused to being offensive. Most of the time it's purposefully crafted. It makes me happy when I'm not misunderstood.}( Shoot! I see offensive, off topic crap on OD ALL the time!!!!!!! Sometimes I can't help myself and feel compelled to state my 2 cents. Which, BTW, my long time ago hemmoroid post WAS fitness related!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem, I think it's just as valid a topic as discussing one's cycle days! Both fall into the TMI category. Email me the poem. I'd like to read it. Stepping off my soapbox now.

Jeanette-X: Good luck with your hill climb tonight! I bow in awe of you and all the other ladies who can climb hills and ride more than 10 miles!!! Oh, you would have liked Margaret this morning! I did her floorwork in my bed. Poor Phil was so tired, he didn't even budge.

Laurie-X: Lucky you too! Free hair care products! JOY! Your vacation plans sound perfect. Take lots of pictures. Wait! You still NEED to set up your picturetrail account!!!!!!!!!! Yes, always look at the bright side of ARX! Here's a secret: I skipped ARX all last week. Didn't have it in me to do it. Will that void my graduation? I'll make it up next round! ;-)

Nicole soon to be X: I think it's the DMV here too. My brain isn't working properly these days. Just wanted to double check. In a couple of weeks, you'll look awesome!!! I can't wait to see your progress pictures! I can't wait for the X to be over!!! Ha-Ha

Amy: Where did you find information on putting together a freestyle rotation? Did you buy a book? Or is it from personal experience? I'm interested in this type of workout from hearing how it does wonders for the lower body. Awwww! That was the sweetest compliment! It's much harder to have grace that comes from within than physical grace. I was just thinking on this today. I was thinking of spending more energy on developing a beautiful, peaceful, encouraging spirit and less focus on developing an ideal body.

Well, it's time for me to attempt the first half of Plyo. Hi to Cheryl, Swift Amy and all who follows!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Hi, ladies! A wonderful Wednesday so far.

Workout was awesome - Step Works (Growing on me, even though its an oldie) minus the cooldown for 51 minutes plus all of GS Legs for a total of 1:50.

Then two AWESOME business meetings - yippee!

And now to finish up work - sigh - I can make it -

Traci, sorry about the mosquitos! And sorry about hitting the harder end of the monthly cycle. Glad you're getting your workouts in still. I hope you have a lot of fun at the Bay.

Teddygirl, yes, to be called a guy and then a TROLL????? Not even close to funny. Good job on L&G. A girl after my own interests! Good luck on MIS. Love those Gym Styles.

Amy, yes, you have grace, and for all the reasons your patient mentioned. Interesting feedback on the freestyle. Glad you're liking it so much.

Wendy, good luck with Plyo! Back away from the Take 5 bars! (I know what you mean about that nice combination of salty pretzels and chocolate, though... sigh....)

Sandra, Netta, Swift Amy, Laurie and Debra, have a wonderful day!!

Cheryl
