Morning gang-
Up til 1am with storms... March definitely coming in like a lion & hopefully will go out like a lamb! Slept curled up in a chair with the crazy dogs so back not feeling all to great. A BIG coffee day for sure.

Thinking of Low Impact Step (LIS) today as I dont know if I can do a full body strength on no sleep... We'll see!

I really liked and got a great workout with Kickbox Bootcamp - 10 min Solutions. I did 4 of the 5 segments (no abs) and the 10 minute blocks kept my attention. Not a cathe fun factor but some good form work. Ended up burning over 300 calories in 40 minutes. My HR is always higher in the evening workouts - I think my body is just tired to begin with. I will be doing this one regularly-

Think I caught everyones personals last night but 2 of you night owls on west coast!

Debra:: So excited for you and your fun first day of vacation! Glad you checked in and are reading!

Jeanette:: What a wonderful thing when you love your work! Happy it is all & more than you had hoped for. I had to laugh about the SS Timers.. I have always thought those were "off" or I'm just not smart enough to figure them out! Drives me crazy!! On the circuits... They did great for me for 2 weeks post X and on week 3 I started seeing diminishing results. I think they will forever be part of my "shake up" plan because I do love cathe circuits best of all but as a staple I have to stick with X like programs. I think I have finally figured out that theres a place for everything just not like I used to format it all. Another learned X lesson that took awhile to sink in the past few weeks.

Thats it for me gang.... Have a great day to all!!

Morning Xers,

Today is SH Chest & Triceps.

SH Legs I went as heavy as Cathe on this and was very impressed with the fact that lifting 50lbs of barbell over my head was easy. :) I have always been weak in my shoulders, so this makes me happy. It was fun to visit Ab Ripper X again, or was it visiting with Tony! :+

Sandra, as promised I did one of the workouts from the Yoga DVD I purchased from Target. It is called Yoga Target Zone and Sara Ivanhoe is the instructor. It has two discs, and each disc has three 20 min. workouts plus a 4th option to play all three workouts. I have found out that this is the 5 disc 20 min makover, and the On the Ball for Beginners workouts that she made with Natural Journeys. So I paid $9.99 for something that they sell at Natural Journeys for $30. Figure I got a deal. Anyway I did the Lower Body Power, this turned out to be a very good stretch for the legs. Started out with chair poses, then she went into poses on one side then the other. Followed all this with stretches. The workout didn't get me sweaty, but it sure felt good after doing SH Legs! Set was Hawaii and Sara didn't irritate me at all! :D I will say I enjoyed this as a stretch more than stretchmax.

Debra, Glad you are enjoying your vacation!

Traci, Sorry to hear the weather affected your sleep. I will have to get that Kickbox Bootcamp workout off the shelf. I've been trying to get out some of my older kickboxing workouts. I have been planning to dust off Kathy Smith. :D Yes, I would love to find another workout like Core Syn. Barry's BC Total Body is suppose to be like CS also. I haven't tried that one yet.

Jeanette, We used to have a dog, and she always loved getting smelly. She thought she smelled wonderful, and was always upset when we made her take a bath. :D

Have a great day!

Just had to tell ya that I saw a Ford Expedition commercial this morning and who was in it? Our Slim Series / Beach Body Debbie Siebers! I did a double take as I missed the first few seconds of it... Maybe Tonys next???!!!

Morning,

Wow, I'm the 2nd one on this morning. I did Slim Series Mix It Up today and it had more variety in it. Will do Ab Ripper X tonite.

Traci, are the dogs bothered by the weather? Sorry you didn't get much sleep. LIS is one that I didn't buy when they came out. Hope you feel more rested after a while. Maybe a nap is in order for today. I'm going to keep with the SS for a few weeks and see if I notice any difference. I'm still trying to go with less workout time cardio, but of course I have the bike riding so don't want to overdo too much, but don't want my cycling to suffer either. Oh, I just want it all! Tomorrow is yoga and cycling (hill climb) in the evening. I read that about Debbie Sievers being in a Ford commercial. Now we want Tony in something too. Isn't he an actor or wannabe actor? Our luck it'll be Dreya that we see next.

Laurie, good going on your workout today. I have never done S&H legs. I think the name always made me think that my legs would be that way LOL. I want quick legs and not heavy ones. My shoulders are my weakest body part for sure. Sounds like a good yoga DVD purchase for you. Don't you love a deal?

Hi to everyone, will check back later on.

Jeanette

Good morning,

Well, I procrastinated on deciding the day's workout until the very last minute, and then I threw in BodyMax, the original, and did the step segment, and the step/circuits segment. After all the traditional leg work in that one, I decided to add some fun to the mix and tacked on Drill Max's lower body work. I really wanted to do the wall squats, firewalkers, and walking lunges. They're all terrific exercises for the lower body. About 4 inches ripped off the end of my green dynaband this morning. I should probably start investigating where I can buy a suitable substitute. I got this one when I preordered the whole Hardcore Series.

I was successful again last night in avoiding the evening munchies, but it was hard! I was definitely hungry by bed time, but when I mentally tallied up my calories for the day I was already around 1900, so I figured I'd had more than enough! I'm trying to keep my calories around the 1800 range, per day. It's not that easy. I don't know how I managed to survive for so long on the piddly 1200-1500 calories allotted by weight watchers. No wonder I was constantly "fighting" my cravings; I was seriously calorie deprived, and doing some intense cardio workouts to boot! Not healthy, IMO. I'm hoping my evening hunger is just a learned habit, and after a week of not eating after dinner, I will stop feeling hungry.

Laurie - Thank you for the yoga review. I like the sounds of that. You reminded me that I have a "yoga for the back" dvd from YogaZone that's 20 mins, and has lots of chair poses, and twists. I think I'll pull that out some time today. Isn't it wonderful to notice so much progress after finishing P90X? Did ARX feel harder than when you finished the program, or have you maintained your strength there, too?

TraciX - I like LIS! It's great for those low-energy days because it gets the blood moving, warms up the muscles, but doesn't require a huge amount of effort. Your night sounds dreadful. I get better sleep than you most nights, and I have 2 young children! I feel badly for you! When I do circuits, I count them as completely cardio, with the weight work being low-impact cardio. Great for if you want to be slender and toned. The suggestion to do PowerCircuit yesterday was tempting, but BodyMax won out. I don't use PowerCircuit very much, but I always enjoy it when I pull it out. The hi/lo doesn't kill me! The doctor's happy with your progress? Yay! What's next then? Do you get to go back to eating everything you choose to eat? Is there anything you're removing from your diet entirely?

TracyX - Yes, OD seems to have lost some of its oomph these days. Maybe because of the nasties that have come out to play recently? Or because everyone's so busy chatting on their check ins? How did ARX go yesterday? Did you get the burn you were looking for?

LeaX - ((((((hugs)))))) These have been busy, frustrating weeks for you. Was the chiropractor able to help you at all?

DebraX - Happy belated birthday to your mother! 65 is a significant birthday. I'm sure she was thrilled to have you and your DD there to share it with her. Are you exhausted yet? Your last few days have sounded very hectic.

JeanetteX - Dried fruit is a killer for me, too. It tastes so good though! If you still want to treat yourself to some craisins, put a small amount in a sandwich bag with some raw baby carrots, and eat them for a snack. They go great together, and you end up eating far less of the craisins. You have a busy race season starting soon. Are you excited about it? I'm sure you are.

Have a great day!

Hey, ladies! I have to make a quick check in because I just wanted you to know I've missed you terribly, and I'm still alive and plugging away here. It's going to be a crazy week because we have Parent Teacher Conferences, so I don't know how often I'll have time to check in, but I've got a few seconds here. Next week, I'll have a week off for Spring Break - I CANNOT WAIT! A whole week to sleep in! Yesterday, I did KenpoX, and I think tonight I'll go right ahead and start my recovery week with YogaX. I might only have time to do the actual 45 minutes or so of yoga, and the yoga belly part. Can you believe it? LAST RECOVERY WEEK, BABY!!!! I'm going to gasp and claw my way to the end of this! Enjoy reading all of your posts! Keep up the good work, gals!

Steph

Whew!! Ok, I have a moment to try to catch up. It has been crazy busy around here. I ran for 10 miles today and lifted very heavy weights for my arms. Wow. I was rocking.

Traci X - Wow. That storm sounds harsh. I am with you on the coffee though. Stayed up with DH last night celebrating his birthday. He just started to golf a year ago and he bought himself some new clubs and was showing me last night. He was very very excited. I think I seem to remember that commercial. At the time I had no idea who Debbie Siebers was!! LOL. DH says that I should hold off on going to the doc because it really hasn't been that long that I have hurt my elbow and knee. He wants me to be patient. PATIENT!!! Not in my vocabulary when it comes to working out. Bleh! And I will be better by April 2. If not, I am going to go CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My eating has been horrible. I am breaking out in rashes from whatever I am eating and really am trying to clean that up today. What's a gal to do?

Laurie X - Great job on the SH weights. Are you saying that you have a slight crush on Mr. Horton? Hmmm?

Jeanette X - Glad you were able to workout with Imax 2. That is a fun one. Because of you, I am thinking of purchasing Turbo Jam and such. Thanks Jeanette. My DH thanks you too! :p Talk about always being busy miss energizer bunny!! You crack me up. Thanks for the info about the cortisone shot. I just hope that it heals on its own. Sorry to hear about your smelly dog!! Ewwww.. thank goodness you took care of him though. That must have been fun.

Sandra X - Hey, if you don't get a new Dynaband by the time the shirts come in (nope, haven't ordered them yet), let me know, and I will send you one with the shirt. I have one extra. Your workout sounded great. I am jealous. Good job on the munchies. But I am taking over for you, so watch out :+. Great idea on the dried fruit front. Thanks for the suggestion.

Steph - YAY on the last recovery week. Way to go. Parent/Teacher conferences huh? Must be hard being the teacher and talking to all those parents. Have fun with the spring break.

Tracy X - OMG, no coffee yesterday morning? You poor girl. What did you do? I hope that everything went all right. You are not going to join in on the next round of X? ;( I wish I could go in the pool, but for me, it is too darn cold right now. The kids don't care, but I do.

Debra X - Thanks for checking in last night on your vacation. How special are we? And a very happy belated birthday to your mom. She is on the same day as my DH. Oooohhh....I hope you have a great time with CC. I am jealous. And have fun with the gorgeous weather.

Until later gals. Oh, and if you haven't noticed, I was so joking about my workout today. A girl can dream can't she ;-)?
