Morning X'ers! Hope life is well & everyone feeling "spunky" today!
Was sound asleep having a nice little dream (about an X - boyfriend)- *Now ladies we were cooking not "COOKING"... He was a chef!;-)* ANYWAY... Woke up to this loud bang at 2:12AM... One of my dogs was wide awake standing at the doggy gate just wagging the tail. She just wanted me to get up and play... didnt have to go outside or anything... just a gate-banger for attention. So DH says Be quiet & of course now I'm awake and crampy so I just get up! Such shall be the day!

Final Tuesday in the X Challenge! Kenpo today- YEAH. Last time to bring it but am also still nursing that tender right shoulder... maybe I'll wear the glove on left hand only??? Also doing a Stretch Segment from Total Body Stretch. I am really liking just adding a 10-15min segment after every workout... Just helping me to loosen up. It is also part of my post X plan/rotation. Speaking of which... I should be ready to post my 8 week rotation very very soon... & get your feedback.

Back w/ personals after a cup of coffee or 2 (with Soy Milk of course!) :7

Have a great day ladies!

Good Morning all.. it looks like it is Tracy &Traci again first ones up!

Classic/Phase 3/(week 1 or 9 whichever makes sense to you!)/day 3

Did Shoulders and ARms today. I love love this workout. I think I will use this in 3 day splits when I am done with this rotation.

Traci: hope your shoulder gets better. I think you should not use the gloves at all. You may overcompensate and hurt something else! How does it feel to be on the downward slide to DONE! ? I hope you continue to post here and am looking forward to your 8 week rotation too!

Tracy: I am with you on the clean eating! I try to tell myself "one day at a time".. I think the longest I went was 2 weeks.

Have a great day all

Deb B

LEAN/Phase 2/Week 7/Day 7

Woo, hoo! It’s a rest day for me! My back is getting better and last night I was able to do KenpoX for the first time in a couple of weeks! It was especially fun after having a break from it for a while. DS did Shoulders and Arms and ARX last night. He was in some pain! It was funny because he said, “That Dreya is a stud.” I rolled my eyes of course. It must be a guy thing.

Jeanette - I know what you mean about your DH bringing chips into the house. My DH is FOREVER bringing crappy food into the house, and he knows how I feel about it! Grrrr! He just doesn’t get it sometimes. Sometimes, when he has the kids, he’ll let them get pop, chips, etc. at the local convenience store. I’ll be interrogating my poor children, “Where’d you get this? How much have you had? You don’t need any more of that!” I sound and feel like I’m some kind of junk food cop! Great job on the push-ups! I was like you and could just do 10-12 with Cathe on my toes. I’m really looking forward to seeing how I’ve progressed when I’m back to Cathe workouts.

Sandra - OOOOh, you did Step Blast yesterday? That is one of my all time favorites! Can’t wait to get that one out again! It’s so cool to see that increased muscle definition, isn’t it? I’m seeing it, too, and it’s really motivating. I can’t wait to see what Phase 3 is going to bring, since I’m already really pleased with my results so far. I only wish I had done my BF % before since I’d kind of like to see how that is improving. LOL about your dream! It’s sad how we even DREAM about exercising!

Debra - Sorry, but I think I am rubbing off on you! I had such a horrible week last week! I feel for you and hope that you didn’t re-injure your back and/or butt-ocks. If you’re like me, you’d just like to get back to normal, and be able to do your workouts like a regular person. Take care of yourself and tread lightly on that ice!

Lea - Take care of your little guy! Is he doing better today? My DD was sick last week with a really high fever, but that’s about all. No vomiting or anything. Just really, really, crabby. Weird. Yesterday, she was back to her regular self.

Traci - Up early again? I always thought 6:00 was early! LOL, I’m already counting down the Legs and Back workouts! Four more to go! I’m just going to think, each time I do another one, I’m that much closer to being finished! I’m at the point where I don’t even do the boats, but I can everything else, so I’m pretty sure my core is getting a decent workout. I can’t wait for my new GS workouts to get here, and I also got Core Max, too. I’m hoping I can alternate that with ARX to alleviate some of the boredom! Way to go on Core Syn! I think you’re right on mental strength! You know it’s your last one, so you’re going to give it all you’ve got! AWESOME! What a great feeling to be on your last KenpoX. Can't wait to see your new rotation!

Deb B - After reading your post, I can’t wait to try MM again! I was hoping I could lift heavier after doing P90X! I’ll let you know if I can! MM is one of my favorites! Also, you‘re not alone in the horrible diet department. I’m right there with you. I really have to get off this candy bar/cake/cookie addiction that I have. However, I’m very happy with the way my body is toning up and my core is getting stronger. I’m seeing much better definition, too.

DB - How did Plyometrics go yesterday? I’ll bet you’re really depressed that you’re done with that one for a while. (LOL)

Laurie - I’m right behind you - I’m going to start Phase 3 next week. I’m really excited!

Monica - I agree with you about the non flexibility of P90X. It’s really hard to fit it in to an already busy schedule. I’ve had to make some adjustments along the way in order to get through this. This was my very first rotation, too, but I did like that it was all lined out for me, and I just had to grab the workout for each day and not put any thought into it. I do think I’ll do this again in March to get me ready for the summer! I’m hoping I’ll be ready for the Classic rotation by that time.

Tracy - How’d the Yoga go yesterday? How awesome that you’re on your final week, too! Keep up posted on what you get worked up for post P90X! I’m already thinking about it!

X - Great job on the clean eating. That is one thing I really struggle with. By the way, your hybrid looks really fun. I don't have Cathe's HCE. What are you using it to replace in the regular P90X rotation?

Happy workouts today X-ers! I'll be reading posts of those that follow this afternoon!

Steph

Hi again X’ers
Back w/ personals from yesterday afternoon/evening…

*** X ***
You were sure up early today! LOL on recovery week! It is a very odd feeling the first time isn’t it? I actually adapted quite quickly to those! Ha Your workout todays appears to be a mini marathon! You go Ms Ever Ready Bunny! Congrats on 24 hrs of being clean! It is such an important part of the equation isn’t it? I HATE that part! Lololol I think all we phase 3’ers agreed that unless we get booted out for being too excited about completing – we were going to keep the thread together until you finished. After that who know! I think that you guys will help keep all of us on track with commitments based on what we’ve learned & we can let you guys know whats working or not post P90X.
Have a great day & you & DH “BRING IT” GOOD!

***TRACY***
Hope Yoga was da bomb yesterday! Guess that makes today Core Syn???? Only 2 more times! Yippee !

***LAURIE***
Happy Official Phase 3 day!!!!!!!! WooHoo!!!!!!!! Home stretch girl!

***JEANETTE***
Hope you & DH got ARX whipped out and felt it real good! ^^^5 on the low pushups! That’s a sure sign of increased strength… So tell me is DH impressed??? Soy Lite in coffee is actually terrific! The last time I tried something other than non dairy powder was back in the FF Milk days…. That was just watering down my java & I couldn’t have that! I hope that by being off the unclean stuff it will somehow have a positive effect on my hormones… All that seems to matter nowadays. Way to go building that oh so difficult chest definition! I’m still waiting for sagging to subside!

***DB***
Hope you made it home safe & sound… So how many Rock Stars did you do last night???? 50-60????? How do you NOT land heavy on those?

***DEBRA***
How are those Butt-OCKS today? Any signs of the fall? Hope you are OK today. Next day stiffness can be a bear! {{{{{{{{debra}}}}}}}}}

***DEB B.***
Good morning early bird to you too! I think you’re right about the glove… don’t want to throw myself out of the race to the end! You crack me up with the weeks! I always did the same thing as my calendar was weeks 1-13 but we talked in 1-4 here… LOL – Ya know they say genius’s have a hard time with the simple things! Glad you got a good workout in today! Seeing strength gains this phase yet?

***LEA***
Oh girl {{{{{{{{{{{DS}}}}}}}}}}}} What a good mom you are to be by his side! That just makes for a crazy & long day for you I’m sure. Hows he doing this morning? Hope you got rest last night. Yeah- I don’t think missing your Yoga is going to make or break your end results this week. Take care today and hope you get out to grab that book!

***MONICA***
Maybe today you’ll get a call! Prayers are still coming ! Hope you got in Yoga last night & that it helped with munching!

***STEPH***
How ya hanging in there? Anything we can do to help you thru your boredom factor this week? We’ve all been there! All I can say is it IS so worth it…. Perservere! Just saw todays post… ROF! Dreya’s a stud! Now lets hope Tony doesn’t hear that one or we’ll be hearing that in P90XX!!!!!! Too funny- High 5 DS for me on that one! So happy to hear you are feeling better since Kenpo! YES – pains in the body will certainly take its toll, so glad you are on the mend! You’ll like Core Max too! There are even premixes on it… I had it for a year before I realized that one! DUH

***SANDRA***
GREAT workout yesterday! Hope ARX was done and put out of your mind for the next 24 hours! Gotta love those dreams! I swear that are there to show us our potential! Keep at it. Funny that just when you are really starting to feel the back your workouts will change up again huh? Tony is a genius in muscle confusion! My next Tosca try is going to be something with seafood… I need to eat more fish/shrimp etc… and I just keep forgetting! We have an entire upright freezer that is filled with just fish (we catch it) and I STILL forget to make it 2-3x a week which is my goal.

Great morning to all- BBL

Hi all of you X’ers,

I wasn’t able to post last night because they are running fiber optic cable down our street and we have no internet at home. It’s almost worse than not having a telephone.
I did Yoga for Happiness the 80 minute routine. I just love those hip openers. Since I did yoga 2 days in a row, I definitely felt it at the base of my rear. That’s a good thing! Today is core syn. If it gets out of the 20’s I will probably take the dogs for a long walk when I get home.

Here’s to catching up on personals. This is long as part of it is from yesterday and missing a little because I don't have enought time to read all of today's posts yet.

Traci – There is something about using the weighted gloves for kenpox that always makes this little like thread of muscle in my shoulder hurt. I try to be very careful of it. Congratulations on getting everything done! Isn’t it a great feeling? I think the Core attack dvd will be a good change. From the clip it looked like some interesting new moves. I can’t wait to see your rotation. I’m still working on mine. It will definitely be 8 weeks per Sandra’s suggestion.
Traci & Jeanette – I love oreos. I buy this snack pack of junk for the kids and there is a mini pack of oreos in it. I only eat them the week before TTOM, no will power, but they are only 160 calories and sometimes I can eat only ½ of the pack. Yesterday I broke down and made a cake, but cut the fat in ½ and added whole wheat flour. I figure if it isn’t great, maybe that will deter me from eating it. As you can tell, TTOM is around the corner for me too.
Jeanette – So glad you brought it for C&B! I just love the push ups. For me they are the simplest most effective exercise that I do. I need to get a working trainer. My son has a mountain bike on a trainer, but it is way too big for me. I envy you and the riding. I don’t have any other yoga suggestions. I’ve read that Mark Blanchard Sedona something is good. It was even written up in one of the fitness mags that I was thumbing through at the grocery store, but I think its 80 for the set and I’m not willing to spend that much right now. It’s supposed to burn between 350-700 calories. I found you’re comment about DH interesting. There was a time, about 10 years ago when my relationship with DH was less than pleasant. Luckily I stuck it out, because things did get better. Maybe relationships just naturally cycle.
Fox 2 – My only suggestion about the food is don’t have it in the house, and I realize that’s not practical. I usually try to buy stuff for snacks that I don’t like (the oreos just happen to be in with a bunch of other stuff that I can’t eat because I’m allergic to citric acid). Oh that’s one, get a food allergy. That keeps you from eating a bunch of stuff!
Laurie – Congratulations on being on the brink of phase 3. Enjoy stretch x. If I had been doing it regularly, my forearms might not have gotten so tight.
DB – We are paralyzed here in bad weather. Luckily we haven’t had much this winter. I don’t envy you with the traffic and weather combo. It’s not a good one. My husband has gradually been getting me good outside gear for running and biking. I don’t have cold weather tights, but I do have enough good stuff for the upper body that it compensates for the lower. The gear is just so expensive and I usually buy shoes first because I have to have them. My new dvd purchases were the first that I’ve bought since p90x and before that it has been a while. I justify some of it purely because I don’t spend money on any other hobby and my sanity.
Sandra – You will appreciate this story. I had an MRI last fall, the month before I defended my dissertation, because they found not one, not two but 4 things in one breast and 2 in the other. It was a nightmare. I had my MRI on a Thursday or Friday and then like Monica, had to wait until the following week. It was horrible! You instantly realize how precious life is. Fortunately it turned out OK and they were fibraedonmas. I learned a lot about breast cancer, which I really didn’t want to know. That’s too funny dreaming about C& B. I love that workout. It just works the whole upper body soooo good! Great job on the progress. I have to keep doing a push/pull workout because it has just done such good things for me. I think there is real benefit to body weight exercises because they engage muscles in a more functional manner.
Monica – When I had one it was 2-3 business days. I would never have anything like that done again on a weekend because that just adds extra days. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Try to stay busy. I also find that if I workout when I get home from work I’m much less apt to eat a bunch of junk because it just doesn’t set well; especially for aerobics or running. Then I have a cup of coffee while I’m fixing dinner and that helps deter that snacking time. Those are by far the worse snacking hours for me. One time after days of afternoon snacking I decided to add up the calories and it was on average over 500! That was an eye opener.

Debra – Sorry about the fall! I find it irritating when I hurt myself doing something besides working out. Great job on increasing the weights and reps. I love it when that happens.

Steph – You just have to keep going whether you are bored or not and focus on the results and what is your best. At least each week is different, and I think that helps. You’ve come this far, you can’t quit now. I’m glad your back is better and you could do Kenpox. Kickbox is definitely hard on the back. I couldn’t give it quite my all last week with the kenpo. Yoga has really helped my back.

Lea – Sorry about the sick child. Hope he gets better soon.

X – Workouts sound great, and congratulations on the good eating day.

BBL I hope.

Tracy

Morning X'ers,

Classic/Ph3/Week9/Day1

Ok here we go on the last phase. Chest & Back & ABX is on tap for me today. :D

Traci, I have been looking at what I will be doing post P90X also. Just haven't decided yet. Am interested in what you are looking at.

Steph, The only person I get annoyed with is Dreya. In Core Syn I feel as though she is showing off (even though Tony asks her to do the Dreya roll). The first time I saw her do that move I had to roll my eyes. :D

It sounds as if I need to order the Tosca book, some of these recipies sound good. It is on my list of things to get. I have been reading way too many Elizabethan books lately. Just one more thing on my list of things to do! :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Morning,

Classic/Phase 3:) , Week 1, Day 2

It was PlyoX for me and felt good doing it. I even gave the high 5's to fake people in the room behind me. I'm so dorky! I really focused on catlike landings and can say that I'm getting that part down. The one legged crosses are still tough for my left leg. Gap jumps were better too for me. Great workout! Did AbX last night with DH and I've got to say, it was the hardest it's been for me. Know it's because of not doing it at all last week during Recovery. I'm even a little sore right below my belly button. DH did some of it but not as well as he was doing with it week before last. Muscle confusion for sure.

Traci, LOL about cooking! Hate it when the dogs get me up in the middle of the night. Think it gets to be a habit for them, just like that little nap I've been doing every evening around 6:00 p.m. Can't wait to see your 8 week rotation!!! Soy milk in the coffee, I'm still trying to get my mind around that one. Do you buy it in the refrigerated section or the cake mix section? Yep, I like my upper body changes but some sagginess will forever be there, just can't stop gravity, nursing a son, life.

X - So cool you and your DH are doing P90X. Maybe someday mine will get enthused about really bringing it. Right now, he struggles. He hasn't lost weight but I can see his stomach tightening and getting smaller. That's what he's after more than anything, not cardio endurance, muscle definition, just a smaller gut. He did switch to Michelob Ultra with lower carbs so I guess that's a start.

Fox2 - how will you use Shoulders & Arms in a 3 day split? I'm not very smart about this kind of stuff. I love S&A too, it's on tap tomorrow.

Stephanie, Dreya is pretty darned athletic, but she knows it too and that's what gets to us, huh? LOL! Enjoy that rest day today. So happy your back is better. I tweaked my lower one just barely yesterday in C&B while doing lawnmowers or heavy pants so be careful with that one. I'm absolutely okay today and no problems at all in PlyoX. I'm anxious to see where I am with Cathe weight workouts too.

Tracy, I'll have to look up the Mark Blanchard workout. Shucks, I'm out of time, will write more later. How is your DH doing with his workouts? I've got to get a new trainer sometime. Mine is an old wind trainer someone gave me and I can see why it was given away. It is soooo noisy. I'd like to get a fluid trainer someday. Much quieter.

Will write more later.

Jeanete

Good morning!

Today Core Synergistics is on the schedule. I will do it again after work. It was interesting to read that I am not the only one who tends to snack after work. It's nice because if I workout immediately after work it pretty much takes me to dinner time. Tracy -- that is a good idea to have a cup of coffee or tea then while cooking dinner. Sometimes I snack so much before or during making dinner that I end up not wanting any dinner!!

Traci -- I am really looking forward to seeing your post-p90x schedule.

I think that for two to three weeks following P90X I am going to allow myself the freedom of absolutely NO SCHEDULES!!! Then I will get back to one.

I cannot remember who said this a couple of weeks ago, but they stated that in the future if they do P90X they will just take rest days whenever their body feels it is needed and do the workouts in the scheduled order. I like that idea a lot! Not just for P90x, but any rotation. I think that when I create a rotation it will just be a list of workouts in the order that I want to do them. I won't schedule my rest days -- I'll just take them when needed. I may end up taking more than one rest day per week if it feels needed.

Okay, I have to go down to the cafeteria now and get myself a cup of coffee. I am going to use the yummy french vanilla creamer!

Monica

OK Taking the plunge and submitting my final thoughts....
Ready for review.... Will be taking rest days as I need them except on recovery weeks. Should make it come out to about 8-9 weeks.
*Altus is my home Door Gym and "Abs Combos" refer to 17 Mix n Match combos I created to work those abs good! I will be using Mix N Match Options for lifting to alternate body parts just like P90X.
For Lifting will be alternating SH, Altus Gym, Amy Bento because all 3 use different equipment and different variations on moves.(muscle confusion)

Tracy, glad you liked the 80 minute premix on Eoin Finn's PYFH. Hip openers are so good for me. Before P90X, it was so tough for me to do a yoga workout because I thought I needed to work harder, more cardio, more strength stuff, I was afraid of going backwards. That thinking has gone down the toilet. I know I wouldn't be able to get this far in the rotation without injury (so far, knock on wood) by not doing yoga or stretches. Nothing better than walking down the street or wherever and just holding yourself erect and feeling good and strong. Enjoy Core Syn today. Great workout too. I think most marriages go thru rough times. He and I both learned a lot from that time and are careful not to duplicate the events that led up to it.

Laurie, enjoy Chest & Back & AbX today. You only have one more time to do it in Phase 3. It's sure an effective workout.

Got to go to the prison now. See you all when I parole :7 .

Jeanette

Hi to all...I am crawling out of my little hole to say hello! I have just had the crappiest couple of weeks...lots of personal stuff going on and just not feeling up to par...and then, of course, I keep falling! My butt-ocks are fine...Thanks everyone for being concerned....My knee, however is another story...I cut it pretty bad...No permanent damage but cannot kneel...which then led to me not being able to do Chest and Back yesterday...since although I am MUCH better with boy push ups, I still have to do plenty on my knees. So I did Cathe's Slow and Heavy Chest and Back plus planks...It was great for a change. I really enjoy chest work with weights and I am certainly feeling it today! I was able to go heavier than I ever had in the past with weights on this one...and I kept notes so that I would know what to use in the future! I was even able to go heavier than Cathe on the back work...Woo Hoo!!! I have yoga on the books today as well as a little snow shoveling. I will do Bryan Kest either the tone or sweat section...depending on if I fall while shoveling snow! I will bbl for personals...Hvae to take my doggie to the vet this morning...she has allergies and has gotten a lot more itchies lately!

Hope everyone has a great exercise and clean eating day!!!!

Debra

Hi all. Still no working out for me. DS is doing better, and thanks for everyone's concern, but realizes that he still is not feeling good and needs "mommy". So I am going to bite the bullet and take him to the bookstore today and pick up Tosca's book so that I have something to do while I am sitting on the couch watching kid shows all day.

Hope that everyone has a grand day.

Lea

Ok, it's now 2pm my time and I am soooo excited that I will be able to workout this afternoon. DS is doing better, still sick and wants mommy, but not as much. Core Synergistics, here I come. I went to the bookstore today to purchase Tosca's book and the darn thing is on backorder!!! URGH!!! I guess it wasn't meant to be, me and Tosca. I finally decided to order it online through shopmusclemag.com, which I also purchased 2 back issues of OXygen's nutrition magazine. Yup, I am finally addicted to eating right (minus the bottle of wine here and there, LOL). My bloatiness has gone down significantly and I am doing the happy dance. YAY!!!

All right, time to check my older DS's homework. I will so catch up and write personals tomorrow. Have a great evening ladies.

Lea

Hello,
I had DH take my 60 day pics but don't think I'll post as there doesn't look to be much change from the 30 day ones. Maybe I need to go look in the magic mirror LOL! He also got some shots of my underwear sticking up. I told him to let me know, but oh no, snap, snap. Sheesh!

Debra, so sorry about your last couple weeks. Here's hoping that the bad streak is behind you now. Hope the knee starts heals up quick. Good to hear how much you enjoyed S&H today.

Traci, I printed out your rotation. Looks good. Which Amy Bento is it that you will use? I don't own any of her workouts yet. When do you think you will start this?

Lea, hope DS recovers quickly and also know that you enjoyed Core Syn. Love that workout!

Got to go now and finish watching Million Dollar Baby with DH.

Jeanette,

You made me laugh with your comment, "He also got some shots of my underwear sticking up. I told him to let me know, but oh no, snap, snap." Too funny!!! They just don't think these things matter, do they? :)

Well, if your pictures don't show much, just remember how far you've come with the number of pushups, etc. I have not increase my pushups at all!!! I wonder if that's because I was nursing that shoulder injury in the beginning or what? I was doing 32 standard boy pushups in the beginning and I was doing 32 standard boy pushups today. :( But I am able to do partial unassisted chin ups (more like jump ups :p ) and can lower myself down on some of the pullups now unassisted. Couldn't do that before. I quit worrying about making monster gains and am just happy to be sure I "bring it" to the best of my ability each day and try to do my best and, well, you know. Had I not hurt my shoulder early on I may have looked at this all differently, but I'm just happy I kept going and healed my shoulder and maybe Phase 3 will be my magic phase. :) If not, I'm still happy overall.

Suz
