Hi all,

I took a break from the hard thought process of starting the thread with something whitty! At least until Traci and I start to write our book on interesting thread starters.

I had a nice short fast run yesterday and then did Eion, strong, free and happy, which was a nice change of pace from magically hips and had more backbends and front side openers, which I'm really trying to incorporate. I definitely have an imbalance between the flexibility of the front and back of my body.

I'm going to try to get in an upper body workout this afternoon, but we are going out to eat early because it is our 25th wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe!

Have a wonderful day.

Nicole - I hope you are safe where ever you are.

Lea - You don't have to workout to still be friends! We always enjoy your comments.

Hey Guys- Just wanted to update you all on the San Diego Fires this morning---- Our Nicole & her brother (firefighter) can use prayers!

From San Diego - At least 655 homes burned — about 130 in one mountain area alone — and 168 businesses and other structures were destroyed. Thousands of other buildings were threatened by more than a dozen blazes covering at least 240,000 acres, the equivalent of 374 square miles.

"The sky was just red. Everywhere I looked was red, glowing. Law enforcement came barreling in with police cars with loudspeakers telling everyone to get out now," said Ronnie Leigh, 55, who fled her mobile home in northern Los Angeles County as smoke darkened the sky over the nearby ridge line.

Early Tuesday, President Bush declared an emergency for the seven-county region, speeding federal disaster relief.

Soon after nightfall Monday, fire officials announced that 500 homes and 100 commercial properties had been destroyed by a fire in northern San Diego County that exploded to 145,000 acres, said Roxanne Provaznik, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Forestry. The fire injured seven firefighters and one civilian, and was spreading unchecked.

A pair of wildfires consumed 133 homes in the Lake Arrowhead mountain resort area in the San Bernardino National Forest east of Los Angeles, authorities said. Hundreds of homes were lost in the same community four years ago.

Firefighters — who lost valuable time trying to persuade stubborn homeowners to leave — had their work cut out for them as winds gusting to 70 mph scattered embers onto dry brush, spawning spot fires. California officials pleaded for help from fire departments in other states.

"A lot of people are going to lose their homes today," San Diego Fire Capt. Lisa Blake predicted earlier.

At least 14 fires were burning in Southern California, said Patti Roberts, a spokeswoman for the Governor's Office of Emergency Services.

From San Diego to Malibu, more than 150 miles up the coast, at least 265,000 people were warned to leave their homes. More than 250,000 were told to flee in San Diego County alone.

"It's probably closer to 400,000 total evacuations," said Supervisor Ron Roberts.

Hundreds of patients were moved by school bus and ambulance from a hospital and nursing homes, some in hospital gowns and wheelchairs. Some carried their medical records in clear plastic bags.

A 1,049-inmate jail in Orange County was evacuated because of heavy smoke. The prisoners were bused to other lockups.

In San Diego County, where at least four fires burned, more than 200,000 reverse 911 calls — calls from county officials to residents — alerted residents to evacuations, said County Supervisor Roberts.

About 10,000 of them ended up at Qualcomm Stadium, home to the NFL's Chargers, where thousands of people huddled in eerie silence during the day Monday, staring at muted TV news reports of the wildfires. A lone concession stand served coffee and doughnuts.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger arrived later Monday to a more festive evening atmosphere, with live music and mountains of catered food. The crowd hooted and hollered as he passed through, and Schwarzenegger later declared that the people of this makeshift city "are very happy."

The Federal Emergency Management Agency was sending cots, blankets and other supplies, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in a telephone interview.

The sprawling Del Mar Fairgrounds on the coast was also turned into an evacuation center, along with high schools and senior centers. Marine officials at Camp Pendleton opened their base to residents.
At least one of the fires, in Orange County, was believed to have been set. And a blaze threatening the homes of the rich and famous in Malibu might have been caused by downed power lines, authorities said.

"It was nuclear winter. It was like Armageddon. It looked like the end of the world," Mitch Mendler, a San Diego firefighter, said as he and his crew stopped at a shopping center parking lot to refill their water truck from a hydrant near a restaurant. Asked how many homes had burned, he said, "I lost count."

Tom Sollie, 49, ignored evacuation orders in Rancho Bernardo to help his neighbors spray roofs on his street with water. His home was untouched, but he watched a neighbor's house reduced to nothing but the remnants of a brick chimney. "The house went up like a Roman candle," Sollie said.

He added: "If we weren't here, the whole neighborhood would go up. There just aren't enough fire trucks around."

Parts of seven California counties were ablaze. By nightfall, embers had ignited spot fires in ultrawealthy Rancho Santa Fe, a suburb north of San Diego. The fires burned in lemon orchards, their smoke choking the air around gated mansions.

"The flames were like 100 feet high and it moved up the hill in seconds. It was at the bottom, it was in the middle, and then it was at the top," said Steve Jarrett, who helped a friend evacuate his home in nearby Escondido.

Fire near the San Diego Wild Animal Park led authorities to move condors, a cheetah, snakes and other animals to the fire-resistant veterinary hospital on the grounds of the park. The large animals, such as elephants, rhinos and antelope, were left in irrigated enclosures.

Waving good morning to all and sending special thoughts and prayers to Nicole and her family and friends. I am hoping to do my workout as soon as I get back from taking the diva to school. I promise to stop if my back is feeling it too much. It wasn't hurting at all when I got out of bed...but the longer I have been up the worse it is feeling. Oh, bother!

....Traci....Sorry ttom is still MIA! How wonderful to see the gains your client is making. That must be hugely satisfying for you, too! Be easy on your workouts, though...no more aches and pains for you. Thanks for the fire info too.

.....Tracy.....Happy Anniversary! I think it is definitely admirable in this day and age to make the commitment to be with one person your whole life. Hope you guys have some plans to celebrate! You are such a well rounded yogi!

Okay...caught up with everyone else last night...except Jeanette who I will get to later this morning!

kisses!

Good morning,

Tracie: Thank you so much for the updates:) man oh man, PRAY! What’s happening around our globe so much trauma. I was watching the news last night almost in tears as I was praying for all the people and families. Lord Help Us!

Debra: ROFLOL with all the T words, what’s going on with you. When my back is bothering me I sit in a hot tub of Epsom Salt, that helps too relax my back. Me and Ted STARTED watching a movie called Solan (sp) it’s a Hitler kind of thang not sure what was going on then........onto a cardio movie, called BOY what vitamins our you taking lol}( :+ :D

Jeanette: I decided not to watch a movie last night. I got home in a blah......blah.....mood, so much going on I guess I wasn't feeling up to it. I was more like, TG why in the heck did you eat like that get a grip :( much better today:)

I did not sleep at all, I fell asleep around 8ish woke at 9:30ish than again at 11 and twice after that. My brain is going a mile a minute, finally I heard Ted in the kitchen, got up an checked on my baby He’s was spreading Lobster Spread on wheat crackers that he picked up from BJ’s yesterday, brought home the biggest bag of chocolate Whey Protein I ever seen, didn’t know they come so big. I ate a few crackers with spread and we went to bed. I tried to stay up with him to chit chat, I missed him yesterday he left out before I got home went and cleaned carpet at my sister's house.

I got up and hit my treadie, did an hour jog and MIS abs. Tonight I *HAVE* too finsh legs I'll be doing L&G.

Cherly, Amy, Swifty, Wendy and Nicole(Great Big Hug) missing you guys:)

Good Morning Ladies,

Popping in quickly. Did daily dose of bliss yesterday. Today yoga and fluidity.

Its's going to be a busy day today. I have to teach the lesson at Bible Club this afternoon. So, I need to practice. I don't know what she was thinking having me teach. Guess what the lesson is? Loving your enemies!!!! God does have a sense of humor.

Nicole: I'll be keeping you all and the firefighters in my prayers. My heart goes out to everyone involved!!! It's so devastating!!! My sister's home burned down about 15 years ago due to a kitchen fire. They were renting and didn't have any insurance. Thankfully, her 5 children and the babysitter were able to get out before the fire consumed everything. They had to relocate to a less expensive area and start over. All in all, they say everything turned out for the best. But, like I said, it was 15 years ago. It was a tough road for them in the interim.

I'll have to continue personals later. So much to do, so little time!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Morning Xers,

Rotation: LGI8 Week6/Day 2&3
Workout: 4DS Chest & Back Weights/4DS Legs & Core Weights / Kathy Smith Peak Fat Burning

As you can see I didn't get my workout in yesterday. :D Oh well. I was able to take the dog for her afternoon walk, then oldest DD called that she needed to be picked up from school. By the time I got home I had about 20 min. before I needed to leave for dance class. :) When we got home I just didn't have the energy to get my workout clothes on and head to the basement. :D Hey today is another day right!

Nicole, I am keeping you and yours in my prayers.

Wendy, LOL about the love your enemies. Hey I think you will do a great job on this.

TG, Sorry you had a hard time sleeping. Or should I say both you and Ted. Great workout again.

Debra, I'm so glad that your back is feeling better. Maybe it was just having to sit on those dang seats on the bus. All that bouncing when the bus hits those pot holes. :D

Traci, Had to have a talk with youngest DD about dance class. She was (in my eyes anyway) goofing of last night. Talking and spinning around. I told her I don't pay for her to goof around. And I think she understood what I was talking about, because she got the guilt face on. :D :D It looked like she may have been bored, because some girls didn't know the dance step and DD did. So the teacher worked with the girls that didn't know it a little more. Guess we need some F and S words. Boy does that sound funny. :D Hope that AF comes to visit you soon.

Tracy, Happy 25th Anniversary.

Jeanette, Having nice weather to play golf is wonderful. I'm looking forward to my two days off. Even though I will be running around to the store, and I have orders from youngest DD that we need to get some pumpkins. :7 Isn't if funny how public institutions have become less public. Our DMV doesn't have anyone at the windows on their lunch hour. But the DMV doesn't close for that time period. So if you show up at that time you have to wait the hour for lunch, and then wait for your turn. So a trip to the DMV could turn into a two hour visit. x( So fun. Hope you get your DVD's today.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Tracey: Happy 25th anniversary :)How nice :) Can I tell you a little secret both of my marriages did not equal too 25 years lol :+ Wishing you and your hubby a wonderful and bless day.

Laurie: Woman were in the world did you get all this energy from? Niicceeeeeee Work!:+ I will get some zzzzzzzzzzzzz's tonight.

After work going to drop car off at shop I believe you gals are right, I had my Nissan for 5 years and never replaced the battery. Even now, when I start my car there’s a fading sound before it starts, did that make senses:D

We better get prepared to spend $300 scared to put the + on that, OUCHie... I know it has everything to do with Fuel Injector, I'll know more tomorrow, heck the dialogist(sp) test is $70 bucks. I tell you, if it ain’t one thaing, its' two and sometimes three:+ :p

I went ahead and ordered Amy new workout SloMo just looking at the previews gave me chills, so many new and creative moves needing that:) I forgot I ordered Janis Saffell older workouts Kick It:) I still want Kim Spreen’s that's awesome.

Finally, I need to buy me a wig yep! a wig hair is growing slow need dreadlocks:7 I should be ready for them in 6 weeks, I hope. I am so excited about getting my hair locked.

Round2/Phase3/Week9/Day5/Legs & Back & ARX - complete

Hello lady xers! I’ve been missing you all!

First things first-
Nicolex, may you be safe and sound today. Best wishes, hugs and thoughts are with you. Take care! Love.

Sunday - Shoulders and Arms(is that correct?) ARX. I was moving some serious weights (to impress my on-looking family). Shoulders are getting bigger. Hoping to prep for those scary dive bombers in X+. Ha!

Monday- YogaX- (subbed Shiva again! This woman rocks) My flow is good and flexibility is improving weekly. I’m so happy Tony reintroduced me to yoga and now I’m cheating on him.
Tacked on 15 mile bike ride. The weather and fall colors are spectacular. Now it’s rainy today. Good bye pretty leaves.

Nettax, WTG on the Sunday ride! Your stats are fabulous! Thanks for the invite to ride- maybe someday we will meet and ride.

Tracix, hope you are feeling better today and keep on mending. Your dedication to keep lady xer’s talking and sharing is inspiring! You are so good at what you do- personal training and posting informative exercise news and sharing. Thank you!
My energy and focus are a work in progress. As of today- DH and I work off one another. He is up at 4 A to teach spin 2x week and bike commuting 26 mi 3x week to work. I’m up early, love to workout, and finally found P90X. X wo’s really produce the results I’m looking for.
It’s in my nature to push hard and give my personal best. This is what I brought into the marriage. DH brought relaxation and how not be so hard on myself. So DH and TH are my fitness guides. Plus I was born with good lean muscle genes, why let them go to waste?
Let me ask you a few questions- How did you find time to study for your PT certification? What type of goals did you set for yourself? I am truly amazed at how quick your success as a PT career has been so far in such little time. WOW! Keep it up.

Tracyx, Happy 25 Anniversary! CONGRATULATIONS!

Debrax, take care of the back thingie! Darn those buses!

Wendyx, love you for taking on the Bible teacher position. You are too sweet! I’ll check out your luggage link. Thanks for the kind words.

I’m going to have to check-out now, it’s time to do a few chores and pay a few bills. I’m figuring out the statement from the dentist. Hello to TG, Cheryl, Amy, Sandra, Laurie, Lea and Carol. Did I miss someone? Hi!

Hey gang!!!

Sorry to be MIA this weekend....it's been a really bad weekend!!!

Friday night, work, was super busy....started with 2 patients in the 6 bed section, moved one out and got 5 in from the ER! No big deal there....

Saturday morning....

0715- work phone rings, it's DH, he tells me not to leave work, he's on his way in by ambulance. I clock out and head to the ER to wait for him

0815- DH rolls into the ER in full C-spine precautions (i.e. C-collar, back board, etc). It turns out that he fell in the shower and knocked himself unconscious!! He doesn't remember how long he was out, but long enough to run the hot water heater out of hot water....the cold water was what woke him up! Anyway, the doc comes in to check him out and Dave is pretty much out of it. He can't stay away, his words were slurred and he wasn't able to follow commands....and the ER doc YELLED at him!!! He was x-rayed, and had a head CT scan, all were negative for injury, thank goodness!!! Anyway, the doc was super rude and basically pegged DH for a drug seeker (because of his back problems) even though he was in the ER for a head injury!!! About noon, the doc came in, said that everything was negative and that they were going to get him up, walking and send him home...even though Dave was still unconscious and not waking up!!! They ended up keeping him for observation until about 6pm and we finally got home about 6:30 Saturday night. Oh, don't forget, I'd been up since 4p the afternoon before!!! When we got home and I got Dave fed, we started checking him over....found that his right knee was bruised and swollen to twice the size of his left....completely missed by the ER doc!!! I called the hospital supervisor to let them know about Dave's 'wonderful' treatment in their ER and they asked if we were coming back in to get the knee checked out. Heck NO!!! Not after the way that he was treated!!! Oh, the best was that the ER doc told him, "I'm going to send you home because you have better drugs there than I can give you here in the ER!!!" WHAT!?!?!?!?

Anyway, fast forward to Sunday night....I worked then, stuck around to take care of some 'administrative' duties, i.e. turning in the 2 page, single spaced, typed letter that I wrote about Dave's atrocious and prejudicial treatment in the ER. I can't wait to see how they resolve that issue!! Then, I called, got Dave an follow up appt with his regular doc at 11a yesterday morning, so I had to run home, change out of my uniform, and haul Dave back to the hospital (it's a 40 min drive each way). She was able to get him scheduled for an MRI of his knee, but not until 5pm. So we got something to eat and hung out for about an hour at the local bookstore where I chugged some coffee at 4pm! Back to the hosptial for the MRI, which took about 45 minutes, then finally came home! I had been up a total of 27+ hours yesterday and was in bed by 8pm!!

Oh, on top of all this, we got a new kitty last Tuesday!! His name is Peanut and he's orange and white with yellow markings. He's absolutely adorable and LOVES to snuggle with him mommy!!! We really counldn't leave him at the store because he'd been thrown away in a dumpster. He has an absolutely sweet temperment (I think that I told you all this part before, but it's so hard to remember after this last weekend!!).

I am thinking about playing with Cathe's new stuff today, but I don't want to lift any weights because in the middle of all the appointments yesterday, I got my flu shot, so my arm is a tad sore. The girl was funny, though, because she commented on how she didn't have to hunt for any muscle on my arm to give me the shot in!!! (I have to say that I really do like my arms.....all except the waggle of the triceps, but I can't help that....;-) )

Nicole- I am so very sorry the fires! I hope that you and your family stay safe and I will keep you in my prayers!

Hi all,

No workout today. I'm just waiting for Dh to get ready so we can go out to eat.

Thanks for all of the congratulations about the 25th. Yes it is to the same person. Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or what.

I'll catch up later.

Tracy

Hi all...Sounds like there are lots of mixed reviews on our lives today! I am hoping the Nicole and family are all well and safe. I ended up doing LIS07 plus the tris from BC07...I went through the tri exercises twice. Didn't go quite as heavy as Cathe, but doing it twice must count for something. I have my yoga class in the morning. I am planning on doing either back or chest work after that. My back is better...Not hurting as much as yesterday, but not quite right either. I am sure it will be better tomorrow.

On another note...my mother found a lost domestic bunny in her back yard...she has been searching all over for the owner...but hasn't located them, and she has also been searching for a bunny rescue group to take it in, but no dice on that one either. He/she is litter box trained and very cute...so it looks like DD and I may take it in if she doesn't come up with something over the next couple of days or so. What is it with me and the critters??? I will have to take it to the vet and get it checked out to make sure it is healthy....but then I may be the proud owner of a grey rabbit!

......personals........

....Nicole....Hugs to you and yours! Praying for your safety.

....Tracy....Have a great dinner with your hubby!

.....Teddygirl...I am trying to live my love life through you, girl...I am sure I can come up with all kinds of things for you and Ted to do! A wig, hunh? Gotta see pics of that!

....Wendy.....LOL about your subject matter for Bible Club...I bet you had to study hard!! Hope Eoin sent lots of nectar and honey your way yesterday.

....Laurie...I am sure you will get that workout in today. I am sure that Cami enjoyed her walk, so at least there is that! There has been plenty of times that I have my workout clothes on, but still don't actually hit the play button!

....Swifty...Don't feel guilty about cheating on Tony for yoga...Although his form is good, I think you miss a bit of the mind set of yoga when he is yelling at you..LOL! Congrats on the shoulders, girl!

....Amy...My goodness!! You guys have been put through the wringer! Hope DH is feeling better...and hoping you can catch up on all of that missed sleep. It is amazing how the ER doc treated you guys...especially knowing you are a nurse! I hope you get some satisfaction from your letter. Take care of yourself...and that new kitty...and DH, too. And congrats on the arm muscles!

I guess I need to go and fix dinner for DD. My "friend" is coming over later for dinner with me...I am just making boiled shrimp and roasted asparagus. See...I cook when I have someone to cook for! See you ladies in the morning...

hugs to all!

Good Evening Xers!

Bible Club went well by the grace God. I forgot the girls had to wear their team's color. Since I haven't washed darks in a bit, we squeezed in a quick stop to find something red. I also found a cute pair of skinny jeans at the Gap in a size 1. I hope they still fit after they go through the washer and dryer. :7

Debra: I haven't tried the 4DS Triceps yet. Normally, I can't go very heavy with those. Good for you doing it TWICE! Repeating weight work doesn't happen here!:p :7 A new bunny huh. Well, I'm sure your home is peaceful without too many surprise sounds. From my limited understanding, bunnies can startle themselves to death. Enjoy dinner with your "friend". Sounds delicious. Unlike you, I have someone to cook for, but didn't. Tonight we're going to Longhorn. What kind of motivation does Phil think that is! LOL I'm usually try to do 3 reps of one type of pull-up or chin-up every time I go into my bedroom. Sometimes, I'll avoid walking upstairs if I'm feeling tired. LOL Your pumpkin outing sounded so fun! You're such a good mother for helping out!

Tracy: Happy 25th anniversary!!!!! Hope you had a wonderful, romantic evening with your dh! Time flies!!!!

Amy: I was wondering if something was going on with your dh. Okay, first, you must be tired because you already told us about your new kitten and how she was found! You're world is a mess! Dave is so blessed to have you in his life! HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankfully, he didn't hurt himself worse! Keep us updated on the MRI results.

Amy-X: Shiva is a good one to cheat with! I'm thinking about taking a Doug Swenson workshop. He's coming to a local studio. Anyhow, Friday night's class will be a flow class. I'm thinking it would help with the flows that Shiva does. Round 2 is just around the corner to being completed. Are you going straight into Round 3 or taking a break before the new workouts are finished? The new workouts should be released around the time you finish Round 2. Tell dh that I plan on trying out the new shoes and clipless pedals this weekend if the weather holds up!

TG: Cars are so expensive!!! I have to spend $300 to get my driver's side window to work again! UGH! I hate spending money on stuff like that when there's more fun stuff it could go!!!

Laurie: Thanks for the link. I still need to read it. Congrats to your dd for making states!!!!

Traci: ^^5^^ to you and your client!! Your job sounds so rewarding! You sound in much better spirits! Now, if that darn Aunt would simply visit!!!!!

Jeanette: LOL on the priest not cussing. It must have been a humbling experience. Couldn't you mail a request and money order to the CC's office? I almost had to do that when I couldn't find my marriage license.

Carol: Good job staying on track with the 4DS! Hope things return to a peaceful, steady state in your life soon!!!! OH! Did you see the Philadelphia Orchestra's school concert series? The next one is Oct.24th. I'm going to call and find out prices. The school concerts are the same as the family concerts with cheaper prices and weekday performances. If you want to join us, let me know. I think it's Peter and the Wolf.

Lea: It's so nice hearing from you. I wondered where you've been. Agreeing with everyone else... stop by and chat even if you can't workout!

Gotta hurry before the family leaves without me!

Cheryl: Hi! Hope all is well with you!
Nicole: Let us know how you're doing!!!!

Talk to y'all later,
Wendy

Good evening,
I slept longer this morning, worked out late and missed time on the computer. I had the carpet cleaning man coming this morning so had to get things ready. After he was done, I went in to work. Also had golf class after work and had a good time and hit the ball pretty well. Oh yeah, workout this morning was some Christi cardio. My stomach was a little blah so I didn't want to exert too much.

Tracy, congrats on the 25th anniversary! Hope you have many more happy years together. Where did you go out to eat?

Traci, thanks for updating us all on the fire. The pictures are so awful on the news tonite. Looks like the winds will get better soon and help out. So many homes destroyed. Hope AF has finally hit for you. Way to go on the gains that your client has made. Bet she looks forward to working out with you. LOL re: the priest's balls! They were missing for a while there. I think the light weights are helping my tennis elbow. It's feeling a lot better and my mind isn't on it so much. When I get done posting, will get out my 3# pink DB's. Hey, they match my golf bag.

Debra, how is your back today? Hope it's feeling lots better. Enjoy dinner with your friend. Shrimp and asparagus are some of my favorites. The bunny sounds cute. Hope it works out that you can keep him/it.

Anointed, hope the sleeping tonite is better than last night. I'm only drinking one cup of coffee tonite as it's too late for a 2nd. Sure hoping they find something simple with your car. I detest car problems.

Nicole, hope you are okay. We are all praying for your safety. Know you will let us know you are okay when you can. ((((HUGS)))) to you.

Laurie, sorry the workout didn't happen yesterday. Hopefully today was better for you. I had a nice walk today during my break. I listen to my Soft Rock 70's hits (Time/Life series) on my mp3 player.
I haven't had to endure a DMV session in some time thank goodness. I'd rather be beat... Today's golf weather was wonderful. One guy even wore shorts, but regretted it later as it really got cold when the sun was going down.

Swifty, you are such an inspiration! Wow, so neat that your DH is as active as you are. Glad you got a bike ride in today. I haven't had much time to ride lately, just once on the weekend. Don't think I'll be able to keep my speed up much longer by only riding once a week. Oh well, think I needed a break anyway.

Amy, you guys have been thru too much. Hope your DH is feeling better. So sorry for the lousy ER attitude to your DH.

Wendy, glad the Bible study lesson came off okay. I did print a form to request the marriage license and will mail that in along with $13. I'm sure the priest was feeling frustrated with his golf game, like I did the last time he was helping me. It was actually nice not to be the one that was in a slump this time. Bad me!

Must mosey on to bed now. Oh yeah, I got my new Cathe's today via UPS. Guess I'll just jump right in there with them tomorrow. No time to preview today.

Nighty, night!
