Hi all,
OK I had a bad day at work! I NEVER get mad, but today I did. Our ongoing situation with the difficult student I spoke about a few months ago is back in full swing. Just to make a very long story short, he doesn't listen and will run out into the parking lot without any regard for traffic. He did this multiple times in Sept, again last Thursday, and Tuesday. We just cannot stop him. I personally feel it is a huge safety issue and that it is unfair to put staff in the position of being responsible for him when we know this is a long standing behavior. Well, my supervisor thinks differently and we got into quite a heated exchange. UGHH.......
Anyway, on the bright side, I got out of class early, and yes as I read Wendy's post, I was spitting in my evening coffee too.
Since I seem to be spending lots of money on dvds, I'm planning to buy STS and anything Amy or Shiva produce, plus Eion and that's it!
Sandra - I basically started the X again, just to have some variety and have a few months planned out so that I didn't have to think about what I'm doing. Also, I was ready to do some more push ups, because you know I love them, so this fit the bill. Honestly though, I've gotten great results strategically using Cathe's weight dvds and I usually remain injury free. I can't say that about anything else that I've tried.
Wendy - Do you really want another child? I love my kids dearly, but there is no going back to little kids for me.
Jeanette - I use the Dome Challenge as a core workout. It doesn't have enough upper body work, except maybe as a finisher, but if you really contract the core it works.
Debra - I don't think anyone realizes what struggles parents with handicapped children have to endure. It really makes you appreciative of what you have. It took me several weeks to get over the initial shock when I first started working with severely disabled children. We have some really disabled kids at work; cp, traumatic brain injury, and lots of other unusual be debilitating conditions.
Laurie - Nothing worse than a boring meeting. I've sat in my share of them recently.
I guess I'd better go finish up the BBQ.
Tracy
