Xers ~ "Takin' On Tuesday!"

RE: Xers ~

Hi ladies...My day kind of got away from me and I am just now sitting down with time to post! I ended up taking my pooch for a long walk this morning and then this afternoon I did 30 minutes Eion's magical hips and then I did SH shoulders. I felt really good today...and the gods were with me because my scale showed that I haven't gained any weight. Funny story about yoga...just as soon as I laid down for shivasina (corpse pose) DD decides this is time for a chat...I explained that I was in the middle of something...so she goes upstairs and turns her music on full blast...so I got to listen to Hanna Montana and the Cheetah Girls while TRYING to relax! LOL I got a lot done today...2 closets cleaned out, new email address for after the move, lots of other phone calls also made a healthy dinner for myself! I had roasted some wild salmon with cherry tomatoes, olives and capers with a little olive oil and some herbs de province ( my FAVORITE spice mix...if you haven't tried it on chicken, fish and veggies, you must get some!) plus I had some steamed asparagus. I have a neighborhood lunch tomorrow and I am in charge of the veggies and dip..so I spent some time chopping veggies this evening too...All in all a very productive day! More things to do tomorrow...but my cough is much better, so I think I'll be okay. I am going to try to get some more light cardio in...but we'll see how I am feeling in the morning.

DD is wearing her new Xer t-shirt tonight to bed...So glad I got the medium...the small fits my 6 year old!

Okay...Just a few personals...Since it's getting late, I am sure I won't get to everyone, but I promise I read all your post and will be a better cheerleader tomorrow!

Jeanette...Way to go on your relay time!!!!! You are the woman!! So sorry that your poor baby lost her eye...hope she is doing well. My bestest friend also has a dachshund who is her whole little world and I told her about your pooch tonight. I thought she was going to cry! Anyway, glad you and DH had a nice day together yesterday. Looking forward to seeing my DH in June. So, since you recently redid the paint in your house, just want to run a couple of paint choices by you...I am thinking that I am going to paint my dining room a mustard color....I have lots of blue and white pottery which I think would give the DR a bit of a french country look...Then I will do the rest of the downstairs with some kind of taupe...And then our master bedroom will be a sage-y green. Let me know what you think!

Traci...Sorry I can't cry any tears for your wardrobe dilemma today! It just doesn't ring true..."Poor baby, all you clothes are too big. I guess you'll have to do some shopping." I am thinking that is a GOOD thing! So sorry about DH's aunt, though. At least you know she lived a full and happy life...which is all any of us can ask for. Hope your DOMS are better in the morning so that you can get Plyo in. And hoping your rain lets up so that you can putter in the garden.

Sandra...I think DD could go vegan...She barely eats any meat at all! Mostly fruits, veggies, oatmeal, yogurt and pasta. And of course, after I wrote that, I realized that I'm not sure if dairy products ARE vegan! Hope you got some yummy veggies to plant in your new garden.

Okay..I am really tired, so I am heading off to bed. I promise to get to everyone tomorrow.

hugs to all! Nighty-night!

RE: Xers ~

Hello fellow Xercisers:

Didn't get my bike ride in after work today, it was a little on the cool side, with some wind. Tomorrow looks better. I have an organized metric or possible century ride this Saturday so no tough rides after tomorrow's.

My niece and her husband just came by to check on Tillie. It was their border collie that took her eye. I am really glad they came over, I was wondering and really disappointed that they didn't care more. At first they said it was partly their dog's fault, to which I came right back and told them it was ALL their dog's fault. My DH saw it all happen and it was one of those sneaky attacks, Tillie wasn't even facing the dog when she was attacked. Anyway, they offered to pay for part of the bill (I thought they should be responsible for ALL of it), but because they finally showed real remorse and quit the defensiveness, I am a softie and told them to just let it go. Anyway, DH and I feel better now, and little Tillie is doing just fine. Thank you, everyone, for your concern and kind words.

Sandra, I so envy you getting to work in your greenhouse and do some gardening. I have very fond memories when I was young, of going thru our tomato plants with my Dad, with a salt shaker and picking fresh tomatoes and eating them. Our afternoon in the woods yesterday was so very relaxing. DH and I make it a regular part of our spring/summer/fall weeks. It's nice time for us to just be. Believe he loves it as much as I do. Tillie is doing just fine, but when my niece came over, she trembled all over when I held her. Guess maybe she could smell the border collie? How was the premix from Cardio Fusion? I love that workout.

Debra, sounds like you are feeling a bit better. Know you will be smart and not overdo it. Glad the cough is better. Once that cough gets better, we start getting more sleep. Coughing does tighten the abs up, one good thing. I love all of your color choices. I really wanted to do the mustard thing, with white trim in my house, but I don't have that much natural light coming in due to the decks and overhangs, so I went with the light sage, as I thought the mustard would be too dark. Also thought my DH would call it "turkey turd tan, or baby poop brown". I think that sounds fabulous with the blue. Mauve, well, I painted one of our bathrooms that color (pale mauve) and it looks awesome, not enough to say it's purpleish, great color and I get lots of compliments on it when people go into the bathroom. The sage looks cool too. I say go for it. Are you going to have it painted or do it yourself?

Laurie, what is an indoor triathlon? How do they do the bike part? Don't tell me it's on a stationary bike!!! That would be sheer hell for me. Did you get your workout in tonite? Hat's off to all the ladies that can work out at night. Night time is when I drink my cocoa and get on the computer. Don't want anything interfering with that VERY important time.

Traci, your casserole sounds yummy. So you just decided to do 5.5 miles on your first time out? Please tell me that's not what you did. Heck, I'm crazy too and did that silly triathlon last year and couldn't even swim (and yes, it showed). Glad the stretch felt nice. Maybe it will be PlyoX tomorrow? If it was me, 5.5 miles would put me out of commission for Plyo for at least a week! You animal!!! Wish it was me with my clothes too big. I love buying new ones. You have worked very hard and deserve some new stuff.

Teddygirl, how many chocolate chip cookies? Hopefully not enough for a guilt trip. What kind of work do you do? I think walking on my lunch hour is almost the best part of my work day. We're the lucky ones, aren't we? Do you own the Barry's workouts yet? Are they a set? What is the website for them?

Tracy, when you talk about Sweat and Tone workouts, are they yoga? Are they the Bryan Kest ones? You have the best workouts, so creative and obviously effective.

Wendy, your DH is sure a peach, he works like crazy on your house every night. My DH is pretty handy, but sometimes he requires the whip and spurs (don't get any ideas). Are you doing CS with him tonite? I went to the store tonite and bought the ingredients for the CC and then decided to make it. It's cooling in the oven right now and smells DIVINE!!! DS will be dropping by for a few minutes before returning to his home in Reno. He'll be coming back on Friday to go camping with us so we'll celebrate then. The recipe was easy to follow. I can't tell you how good the house smells right now. I should take a picture for my Picture Trail too.

Nicole, got to tell you that I've done a Slim Series rotation twice now, with many months inbetween them and I always get the kind of results that I want from those workouts. I like how it defines my arms and doesn't make them bigger and it seems to slim my legs. Those kinds of workouts are good for my legs, but then again, PlyoX and Legs & Back worked well too. I don't ever care to hoist a big loaded barbell on my back and do squats and lunges anymore. Slim Series can be pretty repetitive, but you can turn the music off and listen to your own. Lots of lunges, squats, unweighted leg work. Firm It Up is a good lower body workout. Slim In Six I know nothing about, nor the new SSex series. Thank yo for sharing about your anorexia. I hope that is all water under the bridge and gone from your life. We are all here for you, if you ever need to talk or confide. Thanks for the congrats on the bike ride. I feel like I'm improving slowly, and not overtaxing my body to get there. Also having lots of fun riding.

Swifty, good to hear from you. Glad you have been taking care of your wrists. We just really need to be in tune with our bodies to make sure we don't push too hard. I started to feel a leetle tweak this morning when doing some back work (pullovers), but quit before it got to the pain part. I've actually never done CardioX before. Glad you love Tony. I never got tired of his jokes. How come you haven't ridden your bike?

Cheryl, I have GS Legs on tap for tomorrow. I may do a mish mosh as I don't really like all the standing work. Regardless of what Wendy says, I really am the laziest Xer and like to lay down for my legwork.

Well, better sign off and do a bit more reading, DS should be here soon to visit.

Jeanette
