Happy Saturday!

Enjoyed a wonderful Mexican Dinner last night (no booze!)
Spinach Enchiladas – hold the cheese!
Guacamole Chips Salsa
Very good and was able to stay Vegan!

Heading out about 430am to be at bay by 6am so DH can be fishing by 7am! PRIORITIES!
I’ll workout with KickMax & Yoga once he’s safely out from under my feet.

Amy:
Your plan of eating looks like Bodybuilding Nutrition Precision! You are so good to figure that all out and then stick by it! Let us know how it works for you and if your cravings go away…. Usually takes me 30 days or so before I know for sure about the cravings being in check. GREAT CC workout! Glad you got to pullout The Monster and climb aboard! Have a wonderful day of sleep!

Cheryl:
Thanks for both the recipes! I have printed them out & will plan to make next week! DH tried my Vegetarian Enchilada (not knowing what it was) and promptly asked why he didn’t get any of it last week! LOL – I think I used reverse psychology on him without meaning to!! Hope you and the family have a wonderful weekend- I’m sure you have a long run on tap- so ENJOY!!!!

Debra X:
Big day for DD! Hair cut + more $$ due from TF! She sure seems to be at an age where shes keeping you busy! LOL on the THRASHER in bed. My sister always has been and since we shared a room growing up I learned to just Get Out Of The Way! No-one wanted to double up with her for sure! What a family we were- I was sleep talking, Kelly was thrashing and Lori was smoking in her room hanging out the window! LORD! HEheheheh on on The Loving vs Living! I swear my hands have one thing to say and my brain has another! Congrats on the new buffet! What a bargain hunter you are! NOT!!!! ROFL! I do believe you are the first person I’ve ever known who was waiting to move and started buying everything in site!

Nicole:
Ok is something in the air??? Between you & Debra we shouldn’t worry about a recession in the future! Congrats on all your new stuff!!! I so wish I could get the hang of coupon shopping to make that big of a difference! I just seem to spend the same no matter what- is it because I buy generic brands normally? I need a class! Your savings is really awesome! I’m with you on prepping veggies – I try to buy the precut – I’m horrid with prepping it all to have it ready to eat.

Ok- Gotta get everyone fed and truck packed up! I do have the lap top ready to go so I shall see you all later!

Graet morning to all!

Good Morning!!!

Traci- It's nice to see you this morning! I hope that you have a great weekend! Yes, I am being 'coached' through this eating plan by a bodybuilder. I am not looking to be one, nor become even fitness competition-esk, but I just want to reach my goal weight and look awesome! I want to look like someone who works out and takes care of myself. I can't look that way with 30 lbs of extra insulation on board! I will definitely let you all know how it goes. I have a feeling that it will be good though, because I get my fruit back where P90X took it all away (except 1 serving a day!). LOL about the coupons! I clip them and clip them, but then forget to use them!!! I was also the "sleep talker"!!! I think that we are more twins than we realized!D)

Just finishing up a decent night, I just wanted to check in before closing down the computer and heading home!

Hi all who are around this weekend!

Today is cardio, legs, and yoga. I'm going to be here by myself as everyone is gone. Our AC is broken and it's just as well that no one is here. They are such complainers about that. It doesn't bother me, but it's not my first choice. It was 90 yesterday and did get a little toasty in here.

Traci - Enjoy the bay, it looks like you have your workouts planned nicely. I plan loosely now that I'm still working with the back. Yes, the mental attitude towards working out is key, whether it is related to an injury or not. The book I read suggested an epidemic of back pain, which I have to agree with. Especially when medical doctors can't step out of the medical model and many physical therapists aren't very good at what they do.

Sandra - Yes it's amazing what men do or don't notice. My family is so used to what they call, my weird eating or eating like a rabbit, that I just ignore them. I wish that I could get them to eat more veggies and survive with less meat, but it's always the question of where is the meat?

Amy - I looked at your new diet and I have to go print that out to digest it. I've never been one who could follow strict guidelines. My diet probably needs a revamp, more calories I think, but I'm into this phase of eating more fish and less meat protien. It sure is a lot easier to manage the weight and I like the way my core is looking. I don't have quite enough energy during the cardio though, so I'm going to have to work on that. I've pretty much cut out all pasta/rice/and potatoes and I don't miss them.

Nicole - I used to do coupons when I was a SAHM. For years I never bought paper towels, foil, plastic wrap etc. Now I'm too busy with work and working out. I still am considered very cheap by the family, but they don't pay the bills. I don't mind spending money for food if we eat it. It's when it gets thrown away that I get a little upset.

Debra - Sounds like you and DD enjoy yourself. They grow up so fast. i can't imagine what it would have been like to have a DD instead of two DS. I'm sure life would have been quite different.

I'll catch up with everyone else later. I put a 20 minute time limit on this because I have to get going on painting the bathroom. I'm not so sure about the color that I choose, but it's better than the white that it is now.

Tracy

Tracy- LOL...now you understand why it took me so long to figure it all out! That schedule that I typed up is just a rough 'sketch' of what it's like for me when I work at night. The 'regular' days would basically be the same, except the order would be a bit different due to my workout being timed differently. All in all, though, your day should always end in a Protein+Fat combo. I am eating more fish as well. I love the frozen fish filets that you can get in the seafood section of the grocery store. Super easy and they are individually quick frozen, so you can grill up one or the entire bag! I like to marinade them in cumin and lime juice, grill them up and make fish tacos!:9

Have fun painting the bathroom!

I'm off to bed, all! Have a good day....and oh, unless you want to be mistaken for 'batting for the other team', I would stay off Pensacola Beach this weekend. Memorial Day weekend in traditionally the Rainbow Party there!;-)

Good morning ladies! Hope everyone is feeling well this morning. I am still coughing a bit...so I will probably do some pilates today with my SH back that I didn't quite get to yesterday. The weather is cold and gray here today....Kind of a bummer since it's the first day the pool is open! So, no big plans...just some more chores around the house. I am hoping the weather will be better by tomorrow afternoon so that we can to the poll then.

Traci...I am glad to know you were up the the roosters this morning so that you could get your fishing in today...LOL! Well, hopefully he will bring home some yummy fishies to cook up. Sounds like you have a nice workout plan for the weekend. There is just no way I could go vegan....I just love cheese too much! It's a sin for a person to love melted cheese as much as I do.

Okay...gotta run for now...will bbl...gotta take DD to the doctor...long story...will go into later.

Classic: Phase 2/ Week 7/ Day 6/ Round 1

KenpoX

I'm going to do Kenpo in just a sec, but I wanted to pop in while DH is on a bike ride and say HI!

Traci-X, Have fun with yoga and KickMax. My Squeeze, All Pump X-Treme and Y4H DVD's arrived yesterday and they're burning a whole in my DVD p;ayer:) I want to use them so bad. Maybe I'll do a double one day next week. Just a heads up, if you can get it back there, SoyaKaas is the best soy cheese ever. I used it for quesadillas and grilled cheese, yum:9 Enjoy the bay!

Tracy, 90 degrees and no air conditioning? That is rough. I have a swamp cooler but this year I told my DH that we were getting a window unit, period. Have fun painting the bathroom. At least with the heat it will dry fast.

Debra, Sorry your cough is still nagging at you. Bummer it's May gray there. My sister's neighborhood pool is opening today as well. Hope you fell 100% soon.

Good morning,

I just spent a good part of my morning downloading, uploading, and editing pictures, so I'll come back later for a check in. Just wanted to let you all know that my picture trail is updated with a few of our vacation photos, including the Niagara Falls rainbow pics.

Today I'm going to do HSTA, then PLB stability ball floor work (my nemsis }( ).

Cheers,
SandraX

Happy Mid Day to all!
DH hanging around house ie: Under foot- as its blowing like a hurricane outside...That means working out has to wait.... tap tap tapping my foot waiting! I cant wait to rebuild and actually have more than 2 rooms!

Anyway- Looks like we have a good group today so on to personals!

AMY:
I totally understand about extra weight! Its really hard to stay motivated to eat/workout right if the bodyfat isnt cooperating! I think its great that you've embarked on something totally new for yourself... That "sweet spot" is surely soon to be found!

Tracy X:
Nice to be solo after such busy weeks at work I'm sure! Great workouts planned- I like it when DH comes to bay with the kids and I am left at home- I like working out all day, not showering until I decide to and eating as I please! I never once disliked being single! Happy painting!

Debra X
Hope DD is OK and nothing serious going on! Maybe shes overly fatigued from loking at all mamas purchases lately! I am keeping my fingers crossed for fresh fish this weekend... My frezzer is almost empty at home- HORRORS!

Nicole
Thanks for tip on soy cheese! I dont think Ive seen that name before but often times the same maunufactures are called by various names around the US... Kraft / Best Foods etc... I shall look as i LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE my cheese! Hope Kenpo was great today!

Sandra X
The pics are fabulous! I will have to look again on the big screen at home as my little laptop screen seems to be shrinking as I age! I LOVE the airplane shot! Too cool for herself isnt little Paris? You have BEAUTIFUL girls- keep that leash handy as those canadian boys are known to love the lookers! Enjoy your workout- only you can love PLB abs so much!

Happy day to all else- who knows when I'll be back- DH giving me "the look" when I get on computer at bay....

Hi all,

I'm glad and surprised that there are a few of us around today.

Bathroom ceiling is painted. Now I have to finish preping the walls, but the workout is going to happen first.

I previewed Tracey's Sculp Sweatfest yesterday. It sure looks like a mish mosh of exercises with no continuity. Some of them look unique and like good ideas though. Maybe the premixes are better? Any thoughts? Maybe I'm just not used to functional fitness routines.

Amy - I buy the bags of frozen fish filets. I bought some tilapia and it is really pretty good. The flounder is pretty much tasteless and I just eat it to be getting protien. I throw it on a salad and the only real change is it adds some texture.

Nicole - I can't wait to hear what you think about Squeeze. I'm on the fence about that one. I'm not sure that it is my style. Good thing DH goes out some so you can use the computer.

Debra - I hope you start feeling better soon. Bronchitis can be very difficult to get over; especially if you wait until you are really sick to go to the dr. It took my son months one time to get all his energy back.

Sandra - I'll be looking at the picks soon. Isn't that sort of stuff time consuming? I tried to add an avatar once and gave up quickly. I need to try again though. I'm faily tech savvy. PLB floorwork?
Can you really ever see a difference when you do floorwork? Maybe I haven't done it enough to make a fair judgement. It is soooo BORING!

Traci - You have the laptop this weekend! Do you have to wait until DH leaves to workout? Bummer, I'm not a happy camper when my workout plans are put on hold. Have you decided what kinds of upper body workouts you're going to do next?

Off to workout. It's already 12:45. My time flies when you are having fun!

Tracy

SandraX, The pictures of Ontario are beautiful. Your girls are just adorable, such sweet smiles:) I can't believe I forgot to write your name this morning:( It's gonna be a long day!

Traci-X, Soya Kaas is the company itself. It's a small brand and I can only find it at Whole Foods and my local Wild Oats. It is the BEST!

Okay...so I am back after the doctor and lunch...So, last night DD hurt her ankle...but I didn't think too much of it since she continued to run around after she twisted it. She did not complain about it hurting or anything...so this morning while I started my post she comes down stairs hobbling and saying her foot hurt. So I take a look at it and it is bruised and swollen. So I took her to the doctor and she has a mild sprain. She has to keep it wrapped in an ace bandage and Tylenol for pain...then ice it at night and keep it elevated. It's always something around here! Of course, I feel really bad that I didn't take her last night! Just call me SandraX!

Rest of personals....

Sandra...I will have to look at your pics later...don't want to lose my post. Hope you are having fun with HSTA...it's one of my favorite of Cathe's circuits!

Amy...Hope you are having sweet dreams...I love fish tacos!! Send some my way!

Tracy...I would be checking into a hotel or saying at a friend's if I didn't have AC...I would rather have no heat than have no AC...I always feel you can put on enough to keep warm, but you can't take off enough to stay cool...I am also perimenopausal, so I'm always hot anyway! Hope you enjoy your workout today. What color are you painting your bathroom?

Traci...Send that man out into the storm to catch you some fish...and to get out of your way! LOL!

Nicole...Hope you enjoy Kenpo today. Do you do it "naked"? Now it's raining here and 63 degrees...I can't wait to get moved!!! I order Squeeze the other day and I am looking forward to its arrival!

Okay...I'm outta here for now...I think I am going to lay down for a bit...my chest is feeling really tight today...don't know why...just the joys of my illness, I guess!

Hi all,

I have worked for hours on the painting and was so unhappily reminded of why I don't paint very often. I'm not very good at it and it takes forever. I'm still not finished. I wouldn't have done it, but we have had this bathroom looking like this for 6 years and I was tired of it. I told DH on the phone when he called and I here an "Oh no!" from DS and a "Did you fix the drywall" from DH, which I said, "Sort of", which is a distracting strategy I learned from DS. Don't lie, but don't be specific about the truth either. I did fix one nail hole. That's why it has never gotten painted because of the stupid drywall fixing. I'm like nobody is going to notice.

I did BM2 cardio and blasts only. I did a step segment then a blast etc. It is probably easier that way, but that is the first time I've done an hour of step cardio since my injury. My back is sore, but it's probably from getting on and off the ladder or stool, what seems like a hundred times. I'm going to do some yoga in a minute.I'm really just thankful that I physically can paint.

Debra - Sorry about DD. I wouldn't feel too bad about not taking her to the doctor last night though. You know how things feel really tight and sore after they have been immobile for a while. I wouldn't put you up there with Sandra yet! AC did work for an hour or so this morning. It doesn't bother me, but the sheppards are miserable; especially the old one. I'd take your 63 and rain any time.

Later,

Tracy

Hey gang! I'm posting from home. I was in the middle of drying my hair when work called and asked if it were okay not to come in. I knew that they were going to "clean house" today when I left.

Debra- I am sorry that DD hurt herself! Keep the ice handy, and actually I would have recommended Motrin for the anti-inflammatory/pain instead of Tylenol, but I know that Tylenol is safer for kids (motrin contains a minute bit of aspirin, known to cause Reyes syndrome in kids)

Tracy- LOL on the painting. I'm in the same boat! I hate painting by myself and DH has been wanting me to paint the living room for a couple of years now and I keep putting it off! I like the tilapia as well (and the marinade is why I use it on the flounder...to give it some flavor!)

Traci- Are you still getting 'the look'?

Sandra- the girls a gorgeous!!! It looks like they had a great time visiting! Thanks for the pictures!

Tonight was PLB. I looked back and realized that it's been 2 1/2 mos since I last did it! Holy cow did I work! I even floundered my way through the floor work....as much as I hate floorwork!!!

Later, taters!

I've made my way back. Ugh. That bug I was talking about yesterday has come along and sucked out my life force. I don't feel stuffed up (much), but my throat is mildly sore, and I am Fatigued. I spent 2 hours lounging in bed, watching junk tv this afternoon, and that felt good. I hope I get my energy back soon.

Before I convinced myself that I was sick, I did HSTA and PLB stability ball floor work. It was actually a really great workout for how I feel today. The cardios are short enough that they didn't drain my energy. I was very, very pleasantly surprised to find the PLB stability ball work, well, almost easy! I've struggled with that hamstring section for years. What's up? I don't know. Is it possible that the other floorwork I've been doing recently has actually made a difference? Whatever the reason, I'm thrilled.

Thanks for the comments on the kids and the pictures. We're kind of attached to them, and think they're pretty sweet. I honestly wanted to include a picture of myself (other than the back of my head!), but there wasn't one in the bunch that was postable. In no picture did I ever look like Angelina Jolie! Well, there's always the next vacation...

Now all of you settle down from picking on poor old me. My children are still under the impression that I'm The Best Mom in the Woooooorld, and it's normal for parents to put away money for both a college fund and a therapy fund.

TracyX - I give you great credit for painting your bathroom! Like I've said before, that whole process seems mysterious to me. DH is going to begin painting our basement tonight. I will go to bed, and let the colour simply appear on the walls in the morning, as though the Paint Fairy had visited overnight. About floorwork, I decided a couple of weeks ago to start doing it 2x a week and see if it became any easier for me. I think if I work on strengthening all those pelvic-area muscles, I might see some improvement in my flexibility in that area. Of course, I also need to work on stretching (yoga), but strength is also important. I think strength and flexibility are closely intertwined. You did the BM2 cardio? That's a huge measure of progress for you! Congratulations! I like the way you alternated the combos and the blast segments. Why isn't that a premix on the dvd, I wonder? It seems like a fairly obvious set up. You can bet I'll do it myself some time.

TraciX - I'm glad you brought the lap top! Did you get some fresh fish yet? Did DH ever get out of your way? If he's not thrilled about you being online at the Bay house, he shouldn't have told you it was possible to set up the laptop there. He only has himself to blame ;) You know, I've never lived the single life. I went from my parents' home, to living with DH. I really, really, really envy those who got to live alone for a bit. Thanks for viewing my new pics on your laptop! That must have taken you a half-hour, with the dial-up modem!

Wendy - I see you must have had another busy day. Did you decide to build an addition on the house at 3am?

Amy - Yay, a night off! I hear you completely on wanting to look like someone who works out! I'm finally just taking the easy way, and wearing my new Xers tank top almost daily. Your new eating plan sounds so complicated. I know you're right about how it will become easier once you've done it for a bit. Keep us in the loop on how it goes. I hope all your time and effort pays off for you. LOL about floundering through the PLB floorwork. I always smile when Eoin tells us to "flounder" back to plank pose during one of the vinyasa's. Makes me feel better about my own efforts.

DebraX - HSTA is one of my favourite Cathe circuits, too. I never thought I'd actually enjoy doing 6 rounds of leg presses, but I do! You're still feeling ill, are you? I'm sending you fresh healing vibes. The previous ones must have gotten sidetracked and gone to your new house. Didn't take DD to the doctor last night? Tsk tsk. And you call yourself a loving mother.....;)

Nicole - OOooooh, you got a great package of dvds! I don't blame you for wanting to try them. Sounds like you had a great grocery shopping experience! Good work!

Well, I've got to go pick up a handful of essentials from the grocery store while DH gives the kids their bath. Tomorrow's a "rest" day for me, but I'd really love to get in a solid yoga session. If I can get to bed early enough, I might get up early and do Yoga Shakti, Solar Flow 2.

Have a great night,
SandraX

Okay...I am back for a few minutes after getting the abusive mother of the year award! I have a dvd to let you guys know about..."willPower and Grace" with Stacey Lei Krauss. I really enjoyed it, but it is very different, so I will try to explain it. First of all, the whole workout is done barefoot, so if you like "naked" kenpo, then this one is a possibility for you...By the way Nicole...When I said naked I meant barefoot! I guess I should have explained!!!lol!! Also there is no equipment used in the dvd except for a mat. Anyway, it starts with a warm up which is a lot of ballistic stretching, then on to cardio. The cardio section is about 17 minutes, but I found it pretty challenging (keep in mind I have bronchitis)...it has lots of squats and dancey sort of moves with some yoga thrown in as well as some functional fitness moves. Then you move onto stretching...which is mostly yoga based moves...then onto core which is about 25 minutes...planks, bridges, and other pilates based moves done VERY slowly and controlled which really worked my core in a nice and different way. the whole thing was a little over and hour, and for me, it really flew by...since you are always doing something different, it moves pretty fast...I liked the instructor, too...very perky and funny, I thought...and I would kill to have her body shape! Anyhoo, I got it on Collage, so you can go and look at the clip if you want something different. Then I did SH back, so between the planks, the bridges (which were held for an incredibly long time!) and all the weight work, my entire backside is screaming. I will definitely have DOMS tomorrow!

Okay...onto some personals...

Amy...It's funny you mention the motrin, since that is what I normally give DD for any aches and pains, but the pediatrician said there has been some recent evidence that motrin-type drugs actually hinder the recovery of strain based injuries in kids...Who knew?!? Anyway, she is doing fine and we will be icing the foot and keeping it elevated this evening! Glad you enjoyed PLB...it's a good one!

Nicole...See my above comment about your naked kenpo!!

Tracy...I didn't even think about your poor pooches! They must be miserable...I know mine would be. Don't overwork that back today. Take enough breaks to give it time to relax. And congrats on the longer cardio section...sounds like you are almost there in your recovery.

Okay...gotta go for now...and rest MY back...Hope you guys are all well and enjoying your weekend.

Hey Sandra! We were posting about the same time, I guess. Well, I always picture you looking just like Angelina, so I guess I was right! Your girls are soooooo cute!! I love the picture of Kate sitting down just grinning. Your vacation looked beautiful...it's relaxing when your surroundings are so gorgeous! LOL about the paint fairy...How do I get one of those?!? And it sounds like I should be sending those healing vibes right back to you! Hope your bug doesn't hang around for long.

Debra - I just looked at your new house. It is beautiful. I bet you can't wait to move.

Sandra - Please send the paint fairy over. I hope she gets here before I have to get out that paint mess again.

Debra & Sandra - Your girls are dolls. As cute as little girls are, I'm not sure how I would have possibly managed if I had had to do hair and fuss over clothes. You know boys are so easy.

Well, I'm done with the heat. Maybe if I go to sleep I'll forget that it is hot. Now that it is dark, the dogs are enjoying some cooler time out of the deck.
