CL/PH3/Week4/Day7: XStretch
Hello!
Anyone watching the Oscars tonight? The advantage of living in the west is they start nice and early, so I don't have to stay up until midnight to see it all. I'll watch bits and pieces. I'm interested in seeing how well Ellen does hosting. "Am I right, Ladies?".
TracyX - Absolutely "man arms" are a compliment! In my book, anyway. I can't believe your workout yesterday!!! Oh my!! Tough tough! I hate the MIC hi/lo, too. I don't know anyone who actually likes it. I do it because I know it's good for me, but there's always dread. It goes so fast, and is so high impact. Thank you for the comments about my workout area. It really wasn't such a bad adjustment. I really didn't like having all my equipment cluttering up the living room, and it was a pain to have to build and tear down my exercise mats every day, but other than that it was okay. P90X is a great system if you don't have tons of room to workout. Carrying all my weights back down to the basement on Friday night was probably the best workout I had all week! Legs & arms at the same time! Frozen crap on the ground sucks. I hope it gets all warm and sunny for you, and it all melts away. I don't know what NB Web Express is, but have fun spending the money! Oh wait, you say shoes? So it's New Balance, right? How'd you get a $50 GC for that? If you want to find that rotation, search for "1082, April Rotation". Cathe posted it on April 1/04. I'm not going to actually do the rotation, yet anyways. I was looking through her strength focused rotations to see what balance of cardio and weights she puts in them. I'm going to structure something along those lines, using the workouts I want.
LeaX - a simple solution to the computer problem that works for me: headphones. Keeps everyone happy around here. How do I handle the kids when I workout? It's not so bad, actually. I figure that anything I'm doing is better than nothing, and a few brief interruptions here and there won't do any harm. Mind you, I have taught my kids to respect my workout time by refusing to stop every time they ask for something. It required a lot of patience on my part, but it eventually got through. Now DD#1 pretty much leaves me alone, and DD#2 is getting better. I don't mind being interrupted during the yoga, after all the moving vinyasa's are over. I just hit pause after I finish the pose, deal with what the kid wants, then get back to it. No harm done. Oh, I also plan ahead for them by making sure their snacks and drinks are accessible to them, and will sometimes turn on the small kitchen television to keep them amused. Oh my that's a lot of dental work you had done!!!!! Yuck!!! How's your mouth feeling today? Pizza and vino for an Oscar dinner. Sounds like a hootin' hollerin' kind of night. I want to come! I don't buy Oxygen, but pick it up occaisionally. I'll check out your new shirt options when I'm done writing this post.
Debra - you're so close to the end, too! Given your wrist problems, I don't really know what to suggest for your recovery week. As you said, there are too many down-dogs, etc in the yoga and stretch workouts. Maybe some StretchMax and CoreMax? Some light cardio like walking? My 17mth old's name is Kate/Katie and when I do B&B she's always running to the tv when Tony talks to Kate. I like that workout alot, too. Maybe the next time you do it, it will feel better (but YAY! You're done!!).
Jeanette - so glad to hear you had a great time with KenpoX yesterday!!! Is there a bike ride today? I hear you about the critical role of convenience in sticking with workouts. If I had to go to a gym to workout, it wouldn't happen very often. I'm all about showing off my arms at home, too. People around here really don't appreciate it, though (sigh).

No cereal since starting P90X?? Wow! It makes such a quick and easy afternoon snack. Please come on up any time! Every July we have a "Tour de l'Alberta", which is a 100mile bike ride through a bunch of small French towns around Edmonton. DH has done it for the past 3 years and loves it. It's not competitive, just fun.
Yesterday I did KenpoX and KM Blast Challenge. It felt really good, I think I brought it very well. DH and I will be doing XStretch some time today. The Producers was a hoot. Very funny. It's good to spend an afternoon laughing.
So, who's left after Debra? I think Monica's no longer officially on the P90X clock, X, DB & Gayle seem to have disappeared, as has Stephanie? I'm not sure where Laurie is in the process? I'm just wondering when this forum will officially become the Post-P90Xers?
Well, the family is really getting impatient with being ignored, so I'd better go. Have a great day! I'll BBL with comments about the shirts.
Here's a "welcome home" wave to TraciX!!! I miss you when you're gone!
Cheers!
Sandra
