X'ers ~~~~Sunday_______!

Hi all,

I guess I'm first today. It is snowing/sleeting here. Ugghhh.... We don't need anymore frozen crap on the ground!

Today is some kind of kickbox mish mosh, abs, and yoga. No where to go today with the bad weather, so I can spend some time working out. I need to plan my recovery week too.

I got a nice $50 gift certificate from NB Web Express yesterday in my email, so I guess I'm going to get some new shoes soon.

BBL with personals,

Tracy

Back with personals,

Traci – I bet you are soaking up the warm sunshine. I envy you.

Sandra – I hope you had a nice evening. I was looking at the rotations and I thought the list was pinned at the top, but I didn’t see it. It’s too hard to go through all of those posts. I love SH, but I’m just not in the mindset for that slow motion stuff right now. It probably would be a good follow up after the X though.

Lea – The shirts look good. I’ll wait to see what you come up with today. You must be sleeping in.

Jeanette – Thanks for the description of the CC. I’ve been wondering about it too. I have to get a HRM first. I’m sure they would help my running, but I don’t like to wear anything that obstructs my hearing. I guess I’m paranoid running by myself. I never hear anyone when they come up anyway. Just a mental block I guess. I ate a piece of chocolate last night myself. I think that I ate so much chocolate when we went to New Zealand, and gained a few pounds, that the memory made the act of eating chocolate be not so pleasant. That’s good I guess, but I used to love chocolate. My weakness is cake.

Debra – Since you haven’t been feeling that good, you might do Kenpox or stretch x since they are not so hard. That way you are working out, but not overdoing it. Are you doing the recovery week as written or fabbing up your own?

Hi to anyone who follows, Monica and Steph, I hope all is well.

Tracy

Hello. I tried to sleep in this morning, and I did, 5:30!! Woo hoo. The cat gave me a little time to sleep. You think that it would be the kids waking me up. And I tried to do yoga this am. We have out computers in the workout room and the kids play on them. Well, when I told my lovely darling 3 year old to turn down the volume he started to yell at me. Totally ruined yoga for me. I was not a happy mom. So anywho.....

Tracy - LOL about the sleeping in. Sorry that the weather is so miserable there. We are going to be in the 60's today, which, you are going to laugh, wait for it, wait for it, is cold here. HA! Have fun planning your rest week.

Debra - Do what Tracy suggested. Take care of yourself. The dentist, I was there all day yesterday. Made friends with the staff. Got three crowns, have a possible root canal, and another crown to go. Also need a nightguard because I have TMJ. It was a wonderful visit. I must do it again some time soon;). My kids are taking care of their teeth darn it if it kills me so they don't have to go through all of this.

Traci - Hope you had a fabulous time at the bay. We missed you.

Will do the rest of personals later. Have to get ready. I am making pizza tonight for our Oscar viewing. Pizza and vino, could it be more sinful? Which means I have to stock up on the water since I know I won't be feeling so hot tomorrow. And I have a question, does anyone subscribe to Oxygen mag? I know that Tracy has asked, but I seriously don't remember the responses. Until later guys, happy Sunday.

Lea

Ok here is another version of the shirts. I will post both links so let me know

Shirt version #1:

Shirt version #2:

http://www.customink.com/cink/r.jsp?E=ldandrea430%40yahoo.com&F=xers3

The estimate for the shirts are $26.81. Shipping around $2.70. I was going to wait and see since everyone lives in different areas what your actual shipping cost would be.

Please let me know if you have any comments on the shirts, if you want a different color, don't like tank tops, the price is too much, etc.

CL/PH3/Week4/Day7: XStretch

Hello!

Anyone watching the Oscars tonight? The advantage of living in the west is they start nice and early, so I don't have to stay up until midnight to see it all. I'll watch bits and pieces. I'm interested in seeing how well Ellen does hosting. "Am I right, Ladies?".

TracyX - Absolutely "man arms" are a compliment! In my book, anyway. I can't believe your workout yesterday!!! Oh my!! Tough tough! I hate the MIC hi/lo, too. I don't know anyone who actually likes it. I do it because I know it's good for me, but there's always dread. It goes so fast, and is so high impact. Thank you for the comments about my workout area. It really wasn't such a bad adjustment. I really didn't like having all my equipment cluttering up the living room, and it was a pain to have to build and tear down my exercise mats every day, but other than that it was okay. P90X is a great system if you don't have tons of room to workout. Carrying all my weights back down to the basement on Friday night was probably the best workout I had all week! Legs & arms at the same time! Frozen crap on the ground sucks. I hope it gets all warm and sunny for you, and it all melts away. I don't know what NB Web Express is, but have fun spending the money! Oh wait, you say shoes? So it's New Balance, right? How'd you get a $50 GC for that? If you want to find that rotation, search for "1082, April Rotation". Cathe posted it on April 1/04. I'm not going to actually do the rotation, yet anyways. I was looking through her strength focused rotations to see what balance of cardio and weights she puts in them. I'm going to structure something along those lines, using the workouts I want.

LeaX - a simple solution to the computer problem that works for me: headphones. Keeps everyone happy around here. How do I handle the kids when I workout? It's not so bad, actually. I figure that anything I'm doing is better than nothing, and a few brief interruptions here and there won't do any harm. Mind you, I have taught my kids to respect my workout time by refusing to stop every time they ask for something. It required a lot of patience on my part, but it eventually got through. Now DD#1 pretty much leaves me alone, and DD#2 is getting better. I don't mind being interrupted during the yoga, after all the moving vinyasa's are over. I just hit pause after I finish the pose, deal with what the kid wants, then get back to it. No harm done. Oh, I also plan ahead for them by making sure their snacks and drinks are accessible to them, and will sometimes turn on the small kitchen television to keep them amused. Oh my that's a lot of dental work you had done!!!!! Yuck!!! How's your mouth feeling today? Pizza and vino for an Oscar dinner. Sounds like a hootin' hollerin' kind of night. I want to come! I don't buy Oxygen, but pick it up occaisionally. I'll check out your new shirt options when I'm done writing this post.

Debra - you're so close to the end, too! Given your wrist problems, I don't really know what to suggest for your recovery week. As you said, there are too many down-dogs, etc in the yoga and stretch workouts. Maybe some StretchMax and CoreMax? Some light cardio like walking? My 17mth old's name is Kate/Katie and when I do B&B she's always running to the tv when Tony talks to Kate. I like that workout alot, too. Maybe the next time you do it, it will feel better (but YAY! You're done!!).

Jeanette - so glad to hear you had a great time with KenpoX yesterday!!! Is there a bike ride today? I hear you about the critical role of convenience in sticking with workouts. If I had to go to a gym to workout, it wouldn't happen very often. I'm all about showing off my arms at home, too. People around here really don't appreciate it, though (sigh). :) No cereal since starting P90X?? Wow! It makes such a quick and easy afternoon snack. Please come on up any time! Every July we have a "Tour de l'Alberta", which is a 100mile bike ride through a bunch of small French towns around Edmonton. DH has done it for the past 3 years and loves it. It's not competitive, just fun.

Yesterday I did KenpoX and KM Blast Challenge. It felt really good, I think I brought it very well. DH and I will be doing XStretch some time today. The Producers was a hoot. Very funny. It's good to spend an afternoon laughing.

So, who's left after Debra? I think Monica's no longer officially on the P90X clock, X, DB & Gayle seem to have disappeared, as has Stephanie? I'm not sure where Laurie is in the process? I'm just wondering when this forum will officially become the Post-P90Xers?

Well, the family is really getting impatient with being ignored, so I'd better go. Have a great day! I'll BBL with comments about the shirts.

Here's a "welcome home" wave to TraciX!!! I miss you when you're gone!

Cheers!
Sandra

Sandra - Very cool. Gotta thank my DH for the ideas. He's a keeper that one. You know, I do all of those things with the kids. Make their chocolate milk and snacks ahead, 3 year old hates headphones. Oh well, have to practice patience. Usually I don't mind the interruptions, but there is something about doing the vinyasas during yoga that the interruption bug me. Kids, what are you going to do?

Lea

Sunday oh Snowy Sunday,

Either t-shirt is fine with me, so I'll go with the group. Both look good.

Lea - My heart goes out to you on the dental work. That is my least favorite place to go, and I need to go. I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled late last fall and found out I have a few cavities. Ughhh...And you have to go back, that's even worse.

Sandra - I think we are pretty much down to a few dedicated X'ers. I guess when we are all done, we can decide if we want to change the name? Glad you had a nice time. DH and I rarely go anywhere. I guess it's just a continuation of when the kids were little and the routine we go into.

Debra - I've been having numerous brain freezes lately. Of course you are not doing the recovery week as planned. Do you have any other yoga? Shiva and Eion have some good standing and supine stuff that wouldn't stress the wrist. Have you tried push up handle bars? They keep the wrist more upright. Even a dumbell will work. A sub for core syn. will be a little harder. What about boot camp with light weights?

BBL,

Tracy

Hi ladies!

Woke up to a very slushy day...not the ice that was predicted...We are supposed to get more snow this evening...Whopee...I think I will follow your advice and do Kenpo and StretchX today. I do have a funny story...my DD was running around while I was exercising the other day and she said "Tony's muscles are as big as a house!" I got a kick out of that!

Lea...Sorry about your hellish day at the dentist! They just had a party in your mouth you poor thing! I like the second shirt better, too...And please sign me up for 2 shirts...My DD wants one, too! She does about half the wokouts with me...and she can Mason twists like nobody's business! Thanks again for organizing all of this. Don't you love the sass you get froom your little ones? My DD has only gotten worse lately...it certainly doesn't lead to a very relaxing yoga session, though! Have a great evening with the wine and pizza..sounds very decadent!!

Sandra...Glad you had a good time at the show yesterday! Have fun with StretchX today. My DD likes to workout with me...She uses 3 or 5 pound weights...very cute! Also have fun watching the oscars tonight...I haven't seen but a couple of the movies that are nominated, so I'll probably just check in every once in a while. I do hope that Alan Arkin wins for "Little Miss Sunshine"...I thought he was great in that!

Tracy...Hope you survive your storm today....Yucky weather! Have fun with your gift certificate! Did I mention I love shoes?!? I'm sure you will have a great time with your workouts today...Try to stay warm. Thanks for the suggestions for recovery week...I keep saying that it is my wrist that is hurt, but it is actually my palm..the pad just between the thumb and wrist (if that makes any sense)...so I cannot put any pressure on my that part at all. It hurts all through my wrist when I put pressure on it...I was getting into bed yesterday and tweaked it again.. I will call a doctor this week...So using the pushup bars are out too...but I may do some of Core Syn...just not the push up parts. I don't have the other yoga DVDs you mentioned...where did you get yours? They're not on Collage are they?

Jeanette...Thanks so much for the info on Cardio Coach...I will definitely get a couple for my treadmill work. It's so boring...but I need to use it this time of year. Glad you had fun at the shower last night...Glad you missed the bunny poop!

LEAN/Phase 3/Week 11/Day 4

Hey, ladies! I've missed you all, but I'm still here, reading posts sporadically! I haven't dropped out, but just been extremely busy this week. I usually work during the day, then have to go to class on Tuesday night, church on Wednesday night, DS has some sporting event on Thursday nights, and Friday nights are booked usually, too. Thanks for thinking of me still! I still have 2 and 1/2 weeks to go, so I'm not sure if I'm the last one to graduate or not. At his point, it seems like it's still forever until I'll be done, since I'm reading the posts of all you P90X grads. (sigh!:) ) I did sub IMAX 2 for Cardio X a couple of days ago, because I just needed some fun Cathe dancy moves to keep me motivated. I also really felt like I needed to work hard at some cardio. I'm so close to getting through ARX with no breaks. I only missed 3 Fifer Scissors, and a few Heels to the Heavens. Oh, and I can only do about 30 Mason Twists without taking a short break, but then I finish them. The core area is the major place I see improvement with this system! It's really unbelievable! I did the stability ball segment of Core Max the other day, and with the exeption of the ball transfer thingys, I found it pretty easy. And I did try to challenge myself. I even did the pikes, which I could never do before!

Well, I'm glad to see everyone doing well and sticking with their exercise programs.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!

Steph

Good afternoon!

Classic/Phase 3/Week 4/Day 7

Today was a rest day for me. No bike ride either because a storm blew in last night and we have about 4" of snow (LOL, I typed snot). Good day to finish painting the kitchen so that's what I've been doing. Also flipping the channel between the NASCAR race and the Tour of California bike race. I'm taking a break right now, just have trim to paint later. Will also be watching The Italian Job tonite with DH.

Tracy, I checked out NB Web Express. Great site. I'll be using that one. How did you get the gift certificate? The memory of chocolate is bad. That's what I need. Unfortunately, I love Dove dark chocolate. My weakness. Nothing better that I've found. So how do I get bad memories, buy like 3 bags and eat them all at one time? I actually have 2 HRM's. One of them (a Polar) doesn't work near the TV so I can't use it with workouts. I then had to buy a digital one made by Timex that works fine with the TV. Don't know how close to equipment you would be working out, but my Polar had like a range of 6' that I had to be away from the TV. It also malfunctioned when I rode my bike under power lines.

Lea, bet you are eating pizza about now. Enjoy a piece for me. I don't subscribe to Oxygen, but every once in a while I pick one up at the grocery store. Lots of ads for fat burning products and such. Lots. Like the 2nd tank you showed. I was wondering, is it Xers or X'ers?

Sandra, no bike ride today due to snow, but that's okay cuz I got to finish painting and it took a while just for the prep. It's okay with the no cereal thing, my real love is oatmeal. Actually DH and I went out for breakfast this morning and brought flaxseed, walnuts and dried cranberries in a little bag. Also asked for 1/2 & 1/2 for my cereal. Think the waitress thought I was an absolute nut. The Tour de Alberta sounds awesome! I love seeing new country. I don't do any competitive long rides, but I will be doing a competitive 14 mile hillclimb at Mt. Shasta in August (what a glutton for punishment I am)
and some time trials (flat and hilly).

Debra, hope KenpoX and stretch were good for you today. No injuries either LOL. Hope you like the Cardio Coach workouts. Let me know. To me some of the sprint sections definitely qualify as HIIT!

Must go eat dinner now and try to get the trim painted.

Oh forgot to say that yesterday at the baby shower, I saw a lady friend that I hadn't seen since October. She commented right away that I was "thin" (I had a jacket on). She didn't say I looked great or anything, just kept saying I was thin, more in a concerned way. She herself works out still (she's in her late 50's, lifts weights and looks good and is not heavy at all.) Truly, I haven't lost any weight, but maybe some inches (not even whole inches). DH did tell me last night that my upper body has gotten really lean (he likes it) and that my legs and butt are the best they have ever been. Maybe my face is looking thinner and older. Oh well, I feel great and I know that at 5'2" and 121 pounds, that is not emaciated.

Hi to everyone else and Traci, we miss you!

Jeanette

Hi there ladies...Just sitting here half watching the Oscars...And wanted to catch you guys up on my day! I did Kenpo which I enjoyed as usual...and then I did StretchX...not quite in it's entirety...I got bored close to the end and didn't finish...but still felt the benefits. I have Legs and Back and ArX for the last time tomorrow....WooHoo!!!!!

So we got 2-3 inches of snow today...on top of what we got yesterday...and it's still snowing...So my satellite TV was not working since it was covered with snow. You may want to close your eyes for the next part...I had to drag a 12 foot ladder around my house and climb it with a broom in my hand to reach the satellite which is attached to the second floor...So that I could brush the snow off of it...Luckily I did not fall! A real accomplishment on my part since the ladder was not on a flat surface and it was still snowing like crazy...Why oh why don't I live in Houston with Traci?!? Other than that it was a pretty uneventful day! I spent some time getting DD's invitations to her upcoming birthday party done...so At least that is checked off of my list this week.

Okay...A couple of personals

Jeanette...I think you look great...I checked out your picture trail and you look awesome! Sorry you didn't get to ride today...but at least you got a lot of your painting project done. What color did you do your kitchen?

Steph...Gald to see you are still hanging with us! I know how it is about checking in...life can definitely take over sometimes...I'm glad you have been able to keep up with your workouts...The finish line is in sight!!!!! Congrats on the core gains you are seeing!

Okay...I think I hit everyone else earlier today...hi to Monica, Laurie, and Traci...where ever you guys are..I hope you are having fun!

I'm still working out my plans for recovery week, which will officially start on Wednesday this week...And the of course, a post X rotation too! I guess I'll be shoveling snow in the morning...along with Tracy and Jeanette!

Debra

Hi Debra,

Sooooo sooooo glad the mission to clear the satellite dish went without incident! We are having snow too. DH has gone outside a couple of times to clear. Good for you for doing some of StretchX. I've been really bad and not done that one in quite some time. Tomorrow is YogaX (Recovery Week). Maybe I'll do YogaX for a change. We'll see. I don't know why I just have not made myself do it. Could be the 90 minute thing. Legs & Back for the last time, oh what a feeling! That workout has not failed to make me sore. There's something magic in it, but I'm not sure which of the moves does it to me.

I did miss riding my bike today, but the painting is almost all done. My brother and my nephew are here now so I held off painting the trim on one more doorway. DH has to do some caulking around the sink and countertop in the morning and then I can move everything back into the kitchen. The ceiling is white and the walls are a pale sage green. It's the same color and motif as the family room, hall, and living room I did. The white comes down from the ceiling 8" onto the wall.

Steph, glad you got the time to check in and so glad you are still with the X. You are one super busy lady!!! You are hopping all the time. Good thing you work out and create more energy to cope. Isn't the core work awesome? I have Tracey Staehle's Core Conditioning workout coming and hoping that will help extend the AbX results I've gotten too.

Hope eveyone has a great evening tonite, will be back tomorrow to check with everyone.
