Morning Xers... Did Ya'll have excess caffeine yesterday afternoon... When I last looked yesterday there were like 5 posts... Then Jeanette- Debra - Wendy had a little party!!! :+

Doubles: Phase 1 / Week 3 / Day 1 / Rd 2 (XX wannabe)
Chest & Back (only 3 more times!!!)
Double: Brand New Butt- Janis Saffell (probably will regret this as tomorrow is Plyo- OH WELL! I NEED a new butt!}:+

Starting Ph 3 without rest day because I am changing to a Thursday off this week … I have a rest day falling between Yoga & L&B… That works because I’m pretty tired by that time of week and I can keep Kenpo on Saturdays which I need because of bay weekends. I think I’ve had PLENTY of rest considering all the chocolate in phase 1!

Gotta do a quick Re-fill then I shall return to get into yesterdays events... All I did was workout & sleep! LOVE GIRLS WEEKEND!!!!:7

BB Soon:* :+

You bake the most amazing things! I know you are allergic to all sorts of things so do you eat these creations but just in tiny pieces? (There’s a novel concept for me!)… Such good news that you are feeling even stronger now! Maybe seeing that Dr freaked your disc out enough that it is just whipping itself back into place! I’ve been considering a 5 disc changer for exactly the reasons you talked about… Not sure if that’s REALLY what I want to do tho – With exception of the Doubles with X I really don’t want to get back into marathon workouts – which is what my mish-moshes tend to be… I do commend you on keeping up with both Yoga and regular workouts – yes 2 hours is a lot to me these days…. AND you work…Amazing

:::LEA-X
That’s interesting about stronger in mid-pm. I have found the same as well… My energy is sky high in morning but my actual strength is always better in afternoon… The great mental debate in Mid-PM time frame is what I struggle with. Doing Doubles tho has helped – I try to do fasted cardio in AM and do my weights work in mid day… If I didn’t have doubles I’m not sure I’m dedicated enough to do it that way. Glad you are enjoying the Tortilla Less burrito OR should we call it Burrito in a Bowl? I received my 3 Oxygen eating magazines yesterday… WOW! What I really love as I skimmed thru was that the eating plans are all pretty consistent with Tosca Philosophy. I don’t like reading an article on food then turning the page to find another article & eating plan that isn’t on same wavelength. It just sends way to many mixed messages for me. Thanks for referrals- I’ll be using these plenty from now on. If I ever get certified I will be able to write off all these purchases as business expenses. BTW: I may have to call you to order my tank in XXXL if I keep eating chocolate!

:::SANDRA-X
Hope your Saturday afternoon was delightful!

:::JEANETTE-X
What a graet ride you’ll have today! BIG HILLS huh? As you probably know we lack hills & mountains in TX- I still miss the mountains in background after 15 years…Always leaves me feeling like theres just something missing & not quite right. Have a fabulous ride! NO BB Pin??? NO WAY! Maybe my grandma just bought it for me as a symbol… I’ll have to ask my mom about that. I know they weren’t awarded for top cookie sales or anything. Baron Long- handsy- ROFL! Isnt it funny how we notice all this stuff? Why don’t THEY in edit? I have the same fear on steep hills… When I was a kid a used to fall down full flights of stairs regularly and now whenever I am in a “steep” position (either direction) I freak out… I probably had Vertigo but it wasn’t really known until Hitchcock’s Movie VERTIGO- One of my favs! A honed sense of survival is a VERY good thing in my book! Congrats on seeing tangible proof of your endurance! Billy does indeed make me winded- He actually exhausts me! I always have to plan his stuff early in my workout week. Very nice day with mom & shopping… Glad you are enjoying the new sofa and all the shopping for “add-ons”.

::: DEBRA-X
Let DH know if he wants to chat @ 2am he can call me! So do you have to keep house clean ALL weekend now because of inspection? DRATS! Really enjoyed the feeling of Kenpo shoeless! I was surprised because I do have weak ankles but there’s really no Cathe jumping – made me feel more like I was in a real fight…Made me throw & kick harder too! Very nice workout yesterday! How’s your body holding up Post X? “Farts are funny in our house!” ROFL! Not funny when you have 3 large dogs & DH all doing them regularly!!! On weighted gloves…A MUST to really sculpt those arms I think… Go ahead- SHOP!

:::LAURIE-X
Another busy weekend for you! Hope all is well.

:::Wendy
What will you do with all your free time when kitchen shopping is completed? That slide show was very cool. The WTF? & I Pee’d had me ROFL! That’s how you can tell his real age- they look all grown up but YES I’d say boys mature slower than gals! What a handsome young devil! Thanks for sharing!!

:::Amy
What a busy bee you must have been last night! If I get sick I so want you as my nurse…. Do you make people laugh? Oh don’t worry about re creating the graph- I thought ya might have it saved …. TRULY I need no more tracking devises… I’m a collector of paper don’t ya know? I tossed my food log in the drawer yesterday and vowed to not sign on to SP for 30 days to see how I do… Reality is logging didn’t keep me from eating chocolate- and that’s my only nemesis these days… I know what works for my bod and just need to do it without a crutch! If I eat Tosca way my body shed fat like crazy.. when I don’t I struggle. So simple yet so difficult! Have a good sleep day!

:::Swifty, :::Katie, ::: Debfer
Do we lose you on weekends like we lose TeddyGirl? Hope all is well… ALSO- I hope you guys weren’t scared off by my CRAZY post on Friday! You really don’t have any rules to follow here!!!! Gosh I’d feel terrible if anyone took me too seriously… COME BACK!!!

::: TeddyGirl
As you read & catch-up THANK YOU – I am getting all my water in this weekend with no problem at all! Hope your first few days of X are going well!!!

Great Day to All!

Traci, love your Avatar. Didn't notice it yesterday.

I caught the Phase 3 comment and wondered. I'm usually the last to notice stuff. DH just left for work. I'm drinking a cup of coffee but will probably lay down on the couch for a while until time to get ready for bike ride. BBL,

Jeanette

Morning gals. All I have to say is mmmm....coffee. I have to go make some and I will be back and try to catch up with all of you gabbers. (Can you tell that I am trying to put off yoga as much as possible). Maybe it is time to start buying some subs. Do you think Bryan Kest is a good one for the first time??

Traci X - BTW, is it that time all ready? I saw you hating the other day and was wondering if the big monster was taking over???? (((BIG HUGS))) if so.

Lea

Good morning ladies!

Phase 1/ Week 3/ Day??/ Round 1/ Xless

Today is S&A and ARX and tonight is the second half of Yoga. Before I enjoy all that, I plan to drink my coffee, catch up and post personals.

BBS,
Wendy

Hi all,

Everyone was busy chatting last night. The rolls were really good. Of course my son asked, "Are they healthy?" I said, "Do they look healthy?"

I'm doing upper body today and then the usual stationary biking and yoga. I'm not sure if I'm doing a push up/pull up medley or something else. That is working so well for me.

Traci - Yes I did catch the slip.I'm thinking has it been that long already? I really must have been delusional with pain to miss all that time.....I can't wait to her about brand new butt. I ordered it yesterday, the kickbox one, and Shiva's new fluid yoga.

Lea - I think that Brian Kest would be a great sub. I think that it is a little harder than Eion. He gets so much done in 50 minutes. I really have to be in a yoga mood to spend more than 50-60 minutes doing yoga, otherwise I feel like I'm being persecuted and don't really get the full effect. I think it's only about $12 at Amazon. Check DDDvd it may be cheaper there.

Wendy - Shoulders and arms was my all time favorite. Are you getting lots of rain? We are.

Jeanette - Enjoy your ride today. I'm sure you will. The only consolation for me right now it the weather hasn't been really cycle friendly, so I don't feel like I'm missing too much of that.

Debra - I hope that you catch up on your sleep and DD gets better soon. I'm doing the same as you with the upper body workouts, except doing total upper each day instead of a split. I'm enjoying mixing and matching some of Cathe's shorter upper body workouts. It makes it kind of interesting to do something different each time.

Amy - Glad you liked S&A. Have fun working.

Well, off to finish cleaning the bedroom. I only got half done yesterday because it took me SO long to pick up all of the clothes and other cr@** that was laying everywhere. My husband helps wash clothes then folds them and just leaves them where ever there is a flat space, in the bedroom. He always feels so proud of himself for cleaning off the top of the dryer. I'm like but the room is a mess. I'd rather wash/fold myself, but he likes to wash and fold. I'm not sure why. It's almost worse to have to go along and put everything away in mass quantities.

Later,

Tracy

Doubles/ Phase 3/ Week 2/ Day 7: Rest or XStretch

Good morning,

I did Janis Saffel's StrikeZone yesterday. I liked the first half of combos quite well. Next time I'll put more intensity into it, since I'll know the moves better. The second section with the paddles didn't do it for me at all, primarily because the breaks were too long. The third section was good, but not as hard as I was anticipating. I would do them again. I feel my hamstrings today, which surprises me, because I didn't think I'd worked overly hard. Must have been all those hook-kicks, which are new to me. I like Janice. How come every kickboxing workout that came out 10 years ago uses the same music, and always includes a big black guy? I have nothing against the guy; it's just rather conspicuous that those are the ONLY home videos they appear in, and they do so with great frequency! Is there a stereotype being perpetuated here?

TraciX - I love the sound of your girls' weekend! Feels so good to catch up on sleep, doesn't it? You've never heard of Girl Guides?! I know they exist in the US as well as Canada. It's the next level up from Brownies. You wear blue outfits. Is Brand-New Butt a cardio workout? I like Janis. She seems more natural, relaxed, and confident than Amy does in APX. Maybe she's had more experience. Janis needs to get a better set coordinator, though. Too bright!!! My eyes! My eyes! My afternoon was busy, but I wouldn't say delightful. Had a house full of kids who went through each room like tornados. When there wasn't a spot left in this house to destroy, they started pleading to go to the neighbour's house. I told them, quite firmly, that they were not going to be allowed to go do this to the unsuspecting neighbours, whom I like. Mind you, one of the mini-tornadoes was *their* kid....Anyway, I sat down at least 5 times to write a second post to the group, and got interrupted each time, so gave up in frustration. How did you like doing Kenpo shoeless? You want a day like I had on Friday? Really?? I have days like that all the dang time. I wish for just the opposite! All this talk about people never cleaning their homes - I wouldn't dare let it get too bad because odds are good people will be visiting at any given point! I think people are more likely to make "friend couples" when you have small children. We are much more restricted in our socialization options right now, so this is how we do it. This afternoon my friend is having a b-day party for her daughter, and I will go and help out (it's a swim party) just because I want to socialize with a couple of the other moms. Same thing for next weekend. I look forward to childrens' b-day parties, just so I can have someone to play with for a bit. Very different than my childless days!!!!

DebraX - You sound like me, yesterday! "How come I never get to sleep??" I had to stay up late again this week, to play "Toothfairy", and still get up early with the kids! They're sending us to an early grave, there's no doubt! I'm glad you and DD had a good nap in the afternoon. Is she feeling better today? That was a creative way to use SJP/SB! Those two are sooo good together. My favourite 45 min workout using those: SJP Step followed by SB Blast Challenge.

LeaX - Do you say it along with him, too? Ab...Ripper...X! One of the best lines in the whole series. Huh. That's what we should have had written across the middle of our shirts! I read a while back that people tend to have a natural biorhythm that makes exercise feel easier later in the day. I notice the same thing myself. 4pm is dynamite time for me; just not practical.

TracyX - Oh my goodness!!! Sweet potato cinnamon rolls! That sounds beyond delicious!! Did you eat one yourself, or do you have the self-restraint of a saint? Yay! The dust is gone!! I agree that's a dreadful job. It needs to be done here, too. Come on over, bring your SPC rolls, and a dustmop! We can have fun! Thank heavens you're at least seeing improvement with your injury. My eating plan didn't work at all for me last week; just made me feel terrible about how much excess I was knowingly eating. Sometimes I long for the days when I never knew what a calorie was. I need long, gentle warm ups these days, too. Maybe, as you say, it's an age thing. I dislike any warm up that has high impact in it, whatsoever.

JeanetteX - Isn't it amazing to look back on the old workouts and how hard they used to feel? I remember when Step Works was my "intense" cardio day workout! I'm so sorry you had such a horrid birth experience. That sounds so wretched. My first DD's birth was rough like that. Her shoulder got stuck under my pelvic bone just as she began to emerge. It's called Shoulder Dystocia, and is an emergency. I won't go into the details, but suffice it to say there wasn't time to give me any kind of pain medication. I was very worried about it happening with DD#2, but I guess not enough to dissuade me from getting pregnant again. It's amazing how strong the urge to reproduce can be. I guess that's a good thing, for the perpetuation of the human species. Yes, StrikeZone is the one with the red pants.

Wendy - The pics of DS in NYC are great! He looks like he's having a blast! It's on my Wish List to visit NYC someday, but I always hear about how expensive it is. So we go backpacking instead. Did you manage to get around to doing SA? So that makes today's workout....yoga? Will you be doing YogaX?

Amy - Yes, I've noticed how little Dreya seems to lift, too. I think she's just meant to be the Lean Rotation participant for that workout. I mean, she can lift her own body weight easily enough, as she twirls on her ropes and such. She does look awesome, and I personally have never been overly bothered by her. I think the flirting that goes on with Tony is mildly amusing, and since Dreya's husband is the one operating the camera, it's either harmless flirting, or they all have a special arrangement and I don't consider it my business to know more ;) I'm so glad you're finally committing to a full P90X rotation! Change is good!

Speaking of childbirth - I hope I didn't sound like I was on my high-horse about non-medicated births. I completely support the use of epidurals for women who want them; no one should be "forced" to choose non-medicated births, and there is a genuine need for pain relief in many births, especially when complications occur. However, I think our society does women a huge disservice by not providing them the means and the support to give birth without them. It's such an empowering experience for a woman to have a baby the old-fashioned way; all women should be at least offered the option to do so, and it should be actively supported by the medical and the social community.

Another Newbie Tip to add to Traci's Friday list:
* ARX is tacked onto the end of the workouts on the weight dvds (CB, SA, CST, BB, LB). Apparently a number of people didn't notice that around here, until almost done the whole rotation! So, feel free to lend that extra ARX dvd to your friend, neighbour, milkman...

Okay, I need some advice. I started this second round to help reduce body fat and increase muscle definition. I had one month until my trip to Ontario, and that was my goal for looking buffed. Week 1 went great. I ate very well, and by the end of the week was feeling trimmer (I haven't weighed and measured; just going by appearance and feeling). Week 2 was a disaster. I ate excess calories most days, a lot of it from sugar and simple carbs. Of course, the reason for this was because I allowed myself to indulge in the easter dinners, and that set off the chain reaction for the week - I should have thrown out all the leftovers, too. I now feel like I've gotten fat all over, especially my stomach. I'm very discouraged about this, and am thinking, what good can I do in only 2 weeks? Because once I go to Ontario, it will be all crap food again. There are going to be lots of parties and social events, and trust me, tofu will not be part of the menus! Of course, my initial thought is to stop the heavy weight rotation, and go all-cardio, light weights for the next two weeks. Funny how I can identify the problem as being bad eating, but want the solution to be changing my workouts!!! This train is going off the track!! Please help me get back on track! Any words of support you might have are welcome. Despite every impulse in my body wanting me to go cardio-crazy, I don't think my workouts are the problem. P90X should work just fine for my goals, if I can just keep the food in check!

Okay, time to go. Have a great day!
SandraX

Good Sunday morning to all. Today, I am suppose to do yoga(or did I all ready say that?), but you know what, I just might be a bad girl and blow it off today. Bad Lea, Bad Lea. We will see. Maybe I will change my mind later on....Maybe.

Traci X - So glad that you are enjoying the magazines. You have to let me know which one is your favorite. Yummy. But there is one thing...it is not "if" you get certified, it is "when" ok???

Jeanette X - Have a good bike ride.

Tracy X - I got your pm. I will send you the total in a little while. And no, you are not holding the shirts up. Thank you for the yoga info.

Sandra X - LOL. YES!!! I do say it with Tony every time. I just don't do the walk that he does. Is that his "I'm too sexy" walk? Thanks for the childbirth commentary. My first DS I was in labor for a good portion of the day and my very very first heavy contraction almost made me pass out, so I opted for the big needle. The second DS I have a c-section, so I had no choice. Good luck with the food check.

Hi to everyone else. Hopefully I can check back later.

Toodles,
Lea

Okay, just a minute....bear with me.....

Classic/Phase I/Week 1/Day 4(?)- YogaX

Good Morning all!

TraciX- Sorry, already emailed you the graph! Yes, I really try to make people laugh and it almost always works. Last night, I had a tough customer, though (or so I thought) and he wouldn't talk to me, much less crack a smile. Then, this morning, he was chatting up a storm and said, "Thank you" when I finished with his medications. I knew that he was going to take the longest as he's had a stroke and has problems swallowing, so I saved him for last so I could take my time. He then said that he didn't want me to leave this morning!:) It reminded me that I haven't lost my touch with the little old men!;-)

No DOMS from Shoulders/Arms, but there's still time for that. I usually don't get them until after I wake up. Glutes are humming a little ditty this morning after PlyoX, though. Tris are as well, but feeling MUCH better! I haven't decided if I'm actually going to do YogaX today or wait until tomorrow to do it. It's not like it's a strenuous cardio workout or anything, but I just tend not to do well after getting off of work.

TracyX- Those rolls sound heavenly, although they would only be for me in the house....DH is allergic to sweet potatoes! I do make a mean Homemade Cinnabon Cinnamon roll, though that's been on demand from the co-workers for a while now!;-)

SandraX- Sorry, but I really don't have any advice for you....I'm still tryng to figure it all out for myself! Thanks for the reminder about ARX. I actually found out about it by accident the other day after Chest/Back!

Okay, I am sorry if I have missed anyone. I need to snooze a bit before this really turns into a rambling novel! I hope that everyone has a good day!

The night dh worked 11 hours of hard manual labor and drove over an hour to get home, we stayed up to do Plyo. I couldn't believe his energy. He gave 110% and did the double time knee jumps!! Afterwards, I noticed I have muscle definition in my lower quads that I've NEVER seen before in my life! Y'all know how selfish I can be. Well, Phil fell asleep on the couch not long after Plyo. Not only did I want to show him my legs, I woke him up to take pictures of my legs. He is such a good husband. He didn't violently strangle me as I would have if roles were reversed. No, he got up. Well, the pictures never happened.

While I'm smiling and posing, I see behind him a dirty, blackish, diseased infected rodent dash across the carpet being chased by Baby. I screamed as the flash goes off and literally flew to the top of the couch with my emerging defined legged self! From my high perch, I watched Baby chase the field mouse all over the living room. I'm such a proud mommy! I swear she's part cat! Actually, it was the terrier in her coming out and working it. If she was full cat or terrier, she would have caught the little field mouse. Why do mice always look bigger when alive? If you are a PETA member, you might want to stop here. Never fear, we set out glue traps last night next to Baby's bowl. Phil threw it out this morning. Ewwwwww!

Traci-X: You LIKE Denise Austin??? I'd rather have a mouse in my house. LOL I have two of her videos. You're more than welcome to have them! Please, take them!! How does Brand New Butt compare to Cathe's Butts & Guts? I need a butt lifter. I was a Brownie. Barely remember much about it. It's all a blur. All I can clearly remember is going to our leaders house, making dream catchers, eating hotdogs, Pepto Bismol, and throwing up all afternoon. LOL about the "How to post" being fake. It seemed so real and logical. Do you have internet connection at the Bay? Yes, the Boy is acting goofy and feeling all grown up being away from Mama in the big city. At least they didn't forget their responsiblities. I see him holding a Lululemon bag in a few pics. :) Sure, I'll house sit for you if you baby sit for me! LOL

Amy: So, you met the infamous Dreya. LOL She's not all bad. I didn't notice her moaning until Traci brought it up. Too busy trying to get through wall squats I suppose. Traci-X has a name for non-delayed DOMS: OUCHIES. Plyo gives me OUCHIES too. Wow! You are one organized person with your food graph. Do you think it stems from being in the military? My FIL, father, and ex FIL all say that they learned to be OCD :+ , I mean that their organization skills matured from the military.

Tracy: What you talking about Willis? I don't eat clean or post my diets, but I admire your determination! How's my persistent, consistent, rehab workouts put me to shame, injury listed girl doing today? Normally, I wouldn't splurge on cute workout clothes, but I need something to wear on the RT. Who am I kidding! I need something to motivate me to push play! As a bonus, I love wearing cute clothes while working out with DH! }( LOL Are the rolls healthy? How funny!!! You should have told him yes so you wouldn't have to share! We're getting lots of rain. Phil is finding another leak in the roof. It's a newer roof, so he's not a happy camper right now. What a good husband helping out with laundry. Give him another sweet roll for wiping off the dryer.

SandraX: I'm so jealous! Bath birthing! I told Phil if we ever have another child, I want to deliver at home with a mid-wife. He's not thrilled about that idea considering all my babies were pre-term. I don't think he has anything to worry about. Looks like we're not having anymore. ;( I will be doing YogaX as it's the only Yoga dvd I own. Wait, I take that back. I own Denise Austin's Power Yoga dvd. I suppose that's considered Yoga. (What say you Traci? LOL) I'm jealous you got to play toothfairy. My girls always threw their teeth away before telling me it came out. I even bought cute tooth fairy boxes when they were babies. They've NEVER been used! OTOH, my boys knew the value of their teeth. They always saved them for the toothfairy. I've never been to NYC. I've always been too scared to venture by myself. Now that I have ds's friend to use as a guide, I'll go this summer.

Debra: I am so cranky when I don't get my sleep too! My dh would rather I take a nap when he gets home than have me help with the kids or clean. Thankfully, you both were able to take a nap. Hope your dd gets well soon! I can't even begin to imagine doing all you do with dh so far away! It will be so nice to be able to live near you mother! Grandparents are such a blessing! I hope to one day be surrounded by a ton of grandchildren. I want to spoil them rotten, kiss their fat cheeks, tell them all the crazy things their parents did growing up, and send them home. :) Thanks for thinking my ds is a cutie. He's a cutie when he's good.

LeaX: Glad the evening work outs are working for you! If it's not too much trouble, can you post a link for the t-shirts again. Also, would you prefer me to send you $ through paypal or money order?

Jeanette: Life before the net was definetly easier on my pocketbook! I've come to rely on it for most of my retail therapy. ;-) I bet your living room is looking sharp! What color pillows? Parchment paper is not the same as wax paper. It looks like wax paper though. However, wax paper will burn in the oven. You can find parchment paper at the grocery store. It comes either folded in a rectangle or on a roll like saran wrap. It's great for when you bake cookies too. Not that I'm encouraging you to bake cookies. Only saying. Have fun on your bike ride. Do you chat while pedaling? Or is this a serious ride?

Well, personals took longer than I thought. I've gotta get something done.

BBL to chat some more!

OMG I LOVE BNB!!! (Brand New Butt) OMG OMG!!!
Since you have it on order I’m going to let you describe details to the group… I SUCK at that! …. OMG- HEAVEN-
Functional, Core, BALANCE! (I learned today I have none!), butt, legs OMG HEAVEN! I was sweating all over the place and HR stayed in training zone for 30 minute standing…. I was really shocked…in my semi preview I didn’t get that impression. I used 3# hand wts… knowing I have Chest & Back today and 1# ankles…they show 2#. NO WAY could I have worn 2#s for entire thing. What I REALLY like is that she doesn’t do endless reps… 2-3 sets of about 15 count? Then she moves on… Time flys.Enjoy your workouts today!!! Doesn’t feel like a Sunday around here with all of us working out today…

SANDRA::::
I’d switch to circuits for 2 week duration and clean up the eating! I’d do that switcheroo TODAY! You sound kinda ho hum about StrikeZone… Do you want me to buy it from you as promised? I could send it to my sister…. Oh you are so hard to please if you aren’t sweating buckets and bouncing all around! NO MORE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR YOU! Zipping my lip! DO NOT GET BNB! You don’t jump at all- I too like Janis – I think I’d like Amy Bento as my girlfriend but I like Janis as my trainer better… I do think it’s a maturity level. Ahhhh the sound of little tornados in the house. What a life you and Debra. Lea & Wendy have!... I wish I hadn’t had DH fixed when we got married…. Could I give birth at 46? That would be my life excuse to eat and not workout… Maybe he can have it reversed and I’d NEVER have to eat clean again!

Amy:::
Just got the P90X graph- THANKS GIRL! {{{{{{{amers}}}}}}}

Wendy- Lea - Jeanette----- I’ll brb…. I NEED more COFFEE!!!!

Hi there ladies...Just a couple of quick notes...I'll bbl to chat with everyone...but I want to take the pooch to the dog park to run around a bit as the weather is nice.

TraciX...LOL about your slip up. Well, a girl can always dream, can't she?!? And another note about the farts...my pooch is very gassy as well...She doesn't seem to notice the silent but deadly ones...they don't phase her a bit...but every once in a while she lets a little gas that makes a noise as it is expelled...and she always turns around and looks at her butt...as if to say "What the heck just came out of my a**?!?" It's the funniest thing!

SandraX...My friend, stay on the X...You KNOW that it can do the right thing for your body. And with the doubles you are certainly getting enough cardio in...Just a thought on the eating issues...maybe since you are doing doubles your body is craving more food to make up for all the extra calories you expending with the extra cardio. Maybe your body is going into starvation mode because of all the extra cardio...which is why you are not seeing the results you want...and also feeling like you are eating more. One last thought...I saw the most results during my recovery weeks during the X...that was when I lost the most weight and I could almost see the muscles grow each day. Okay...I think I have rambled enough...Just wanted to give you some things to think about and ponder. Have a fun day with your family...and keep a leash on that youngest DD!

Okay ladies...I'll be back to chat some more this afternoon...gotta get something to eat and let that dog run for a bit.

Debra X - I always seem to forget you in posts lately. I truly appologize for that. LOL on the beans. I just found Amy's refried beans, they are expensive, but oh so yummy. Why don't you turn off that darn phone when you sleep. If your DH really needs to talk to you, then he can get up in the middle of the night and call you right? Good luck on all of your chores today.

Thanks about avatar- I bet you guys wonder if my hair is EVER out of a ponytail….. NOPE- not unless its hairdresser day – once every 3 months! I should just cut it and save on Shampoo$$ … Give those legs a nice stretch after hat crazy hill ride!

Lea X
Lol on BIG MONSTER! Yep- calling my new doc tomorrow as PMS/ Hot Flashes/ Cramping is back to coming 2 weeks early… time to re-adjust meds again. Yoga… hmmmm Wendy has to do second half of hers tonight so maybe she can just do the entire thing and give you credit! Oh YES I meant When not If!!! Thanks for pointing out my self defeating talk- I don’t even notice it sometimes!!!

Wendy (soon to be X)
LOL on Day ??? – I am SO with you on that one…. Doesn’t matter a bit- just don’t “forget” a workout! We are obviously little help in reminding you! It really was very easy for all of us to “catch” someone the first round because we were all on the same day! SPECIAL ^^^5 to DH for his energy and passion… I do believe he is going to tryout for Tonys XX Videos! Watch out woman! ROFL so hard on the leg pics & Phil! OMG I bet he could kill ya! I totally understand your excitement tho as I experienced the same thing! (trying to get it back as I speak!)… X lowers did things for my legs that I hadn’t seen before either… It IS exciting!!! So are those pics posted???? OMG I just finished reading….. Now I’m about to wet my pants! What a fabulous Candid Camera story!!! I cannot tell you anything about Brand New Butt because I am AWFUL at giving details… See my post to Tracy above and that’s all I can say… Sandra goes out and buys whatever I’m excited about and I disappoint her….ZIPPING my lip and I will just be the only Xer (along with TRACY) that has balance, poise and a beautiful butt! You may keep all your Denise tapes my dear… I only use her cardio for lite/rest days…. I love her because she’s older than me, keeps things simple for no brainer days and I don’t sweat much so I can get away with no shower if I have to! SO THERE!!

Sandra X
Forgot to write that it was I that was too dumb to realize that ARX was on all the strength tapes….. I think Tracy too???? I was well into phase 2 before I noticed. LOL

Amy (soon to be X in just a few short weeks!)
Oh I do hope you wake up today with DOMS! I know ya love them!!! Fingers and toes crossed for lots of pain!

Debra X
Oh your trip to the park sounds fun! Maybe I’ll take Sandy out the front door for a change before DH & boys get home. Great idea! .I don’t know if you diagnosed Sandras issue but man you got mine! The doubles are making me so dang hungry…. Salads aint cuttin’ it for this gal…. I keep hoping it passes (not to be confused with our fart stories)

I think thats it- good thing because I have to grab some water -
Great Day to ALL!

Hi all,

I'm busy trying to avoid cleaning.

Traci - The butt workout might be just what I need. High reps are definitely not working for me right now.

Sandra - OK, you asked so I'm going to give my opinion. It's just some ideas to contemplate. You have to get your diet under control. I know that you know this, but no matter how much you workout, it will not work unless you control the food intake. I do agree with Debra that cardio definitely makes me crave carbs and then if I don't eat enough, I tend to binge. After going on vacation (several times) and being injured, I've found that if I don't workout, and cut calories, I loose weight. I've probably lost 3-4 pounds since I got hurt; not intentionally. I think that is the magic of the recovery week, albiet not really magic. Here's my opinion on the psychology of a cheat day/meal/etc, not so much if it is healthy, but especially if it is dessert and/or suggary junk. Ask yourself the question, "Who am I really cheating?" One more thing. I think that eating is behavioral and pysiologically addicting. You have to break the bad patterns of eating; fasting is an option (with a light or no workout) or possibly a couple of days of restricted eating, not quantity but content. I would consider not allowing yourself to eat any of the foods that trigger the desire to eat sugar and simple carbs, no matter what; like go cold turkey. Anything else would be fair game because you can't restrict everything. For example, instead of eating dessert or candy, eat a sandwich or anything else hors dervs (sp?) etc. The good thing about this is that good foods don't trigger the unending desire to eat more of them. I swear, nutritious food does not go on nearly as quickly as fat like sugar and junk does. JMO. I wouldn't increase the cardio, because you'll probably crave the carbs restarting a vicious cycle.

Back again. I think I'm going to do YogaX today. I need a good stretch.

Just a quick story to relate before getting back to the what-do-I-do issue. This morning DD#1 asked if she could phone my mother. Since it's DM's birthday, I thought, isn't that sweet? She's being so thoughtful! So of course I let her phone. After the happy birthdays are over, DD's voice gets all sad and she starts telling my parents (they're each on an extension) about something that happened yesterday. Here's what happened: DD came home from the neighbour's house in time for supper. When she came in the door, I greeted her with some silly joking and goofing around. We giggled a bit, then I took her jacket and put the hood over her face so she couldn't see. Then I went back to the kitchen to finish preparing supper. Well, who knew the child would keep the coat over her face?! She starts walking through the house, unable to see, plummets head over heels down the stair case to the basement! DH had left the door open because he was down there playing with DD#2. It's usually left closed. When DD hits the landing, she crashes into a recycling bag full of glass bottles. She starts wailing, more out of shock than injury. She somehow managed to only bruise her shin, and the tips of three fingers on her right hand. Poor thing. Must have scared her terribly. It was a rather bizarre series of circumstances that would probably never happen again. Of course, I feel terrible for having put the coat on her head to begin with. Anyhow, this is what she tells my parents: "I came home from Ethan's and Mom put my hood over my head and left the door open to the basement. I fell down the stairs and landed in a pile of glass." OMG she made it sound like I had the place booby-trapped! All she left out was telling them that I spun her around 3 times at the top of the stairs and gave her a push! As she tells my parents this, I'm in the background laughing so hard I'm crying, which certainly didn't improve the scenario one bit. So, I'm not a bad mother only to DD#2, in case you've been wondering. I share the neglect.

Okay, back to me. Oh, right, we're already there. Thank you all for your feedback. I think if I wanted to slim down really quick, Traci's suggestion about circuits and cardio would do the trick. Like Debra said, recovery week is when you notice the most change; when you lose the water weight that comes along with the muscle building. Hm. Maybe that's part of my problem? I also had LOTS of salty meats last week. Okay, I'm going to stick with my current plan and try to ride this out for a few days. Maybe I'll do one more week of P90X, then the next week do the light-weight circuits and cardio thing. I should let go of any hope that my physique will look any different by the end of April, though.

TracyX, you are exactly right about everything you said wrt my eating. Yes, I do need to go cold turkey on my trigger foods. I completely agree with you that weight loss happens primarily via food intake, and not exercise. I did one of Cathe's high-cardio-intensity rotations a while back and barely saw the weight drop. I compensated by eating more, as you say. And I was always feeling achy and tired from all the high intensity.

LeaX - Who can do the walk when you're too busy gasping on the floor trying to get your breath back?? I always thought of it as a panther-prowl type walk; strong and menacing. In your world, is that sexy? LOL! My goodness, between the group of us, there are many of you with belly scars from c-sections! And even though you all had your abs sliced through, you still have flatter stomachs than me! It's not fair!! :D

TraciX - Oh, Janis's StrikeZone did not disappoint me!! I'm sorry if I gave that impression. I genuinely liked the workout! As much as I like any kickboxing workout, that is....I've never been a huge fan of it. KenpoX is the most enjoyable one I've managed to find, and I still don't love it. Janis's workout is an intermediate workout, with minimal impact, and I find those have an important place in a rotation. I can definitely see myself using the first half hour as an intermediate cardio day; possibly as a warm up for a P90X workout. I actually rather dislike Cathe's CTX Kickbox and Cardio Kicks workouts, but I still do them because they're useful as a cross-training activity. Please don't ever feel badly about recommending a workout. Buying workouts is always a gamble, and I know that.

All right, if I'm going to do any yoga or stretching today, I've got to get going. Thanks for the feedback everyone. I really do appreciate. So, I shall clean up my eating again (leftovers are gone, yay!), and stick with P90X doubles for one more week, then do my own fun version of a recovery week using light weights, circuits and cardio. That will take me up to Trip Time.

Cheers,
SandraX

Hi all,

Sandra - You just have the funniest stories! I can always count on you for a good laugh about the kids. Glad DD didn't get hurt though; kids are pretty flexible. Good thing child protective services doesn't prowl around your neighborhood, only kidding!

Tracy

I'm back! After some doggie fun at the dog park and a much too large brunch...I should be ready to workout or take a nap in about 30 minutes! I love taking our pooch to the dog park...All the dogs can run off leash and chase balls and smell each other's butts and all kinds of doggie fun! She is completely worn out and will sleep well the rest of the afternoon. Still planning on an upper body split today..and may throw some abs in there too. DD has a bday party to attend this evening...but other than that my day is pretty free....except for the laundry yelling at me from the other room. I also have to share that I just found a great workout bra top...and I am very excited about it!

Lea...I just saw the Amy's refried beans the other day too! I will get them the next time. I turned the phone off yesterday aternoon... If I had had any idea DH would call me in the middle of the night, I would have turned it off! Crazy man! I would try Bryan Kest...even if you don't like yoga, he's pretty nice to look at!

Jeanette..Hope you are enjoying a great bike ride!

Tracy...I can't believe that the good fairies have not cleaned up for you yet! I guess DH is trying to help..but not doing such a good job..lol! Hope you are continuing to feel better. Yes, I like mixing Cathe up a bit like that...I really need to get a multi disc player to make that process a little easier. Maybe when we get moved!

Wendy...Bless your little doggie's heart...he was trying to protect you from the big, bad, mean rat! We used to have mice in Connecticut (when we lived there) and our kitties took care of them...although my DH had to clean up a decapitated mousie once! Congrats on your new muscle definition!

Amy...I think it's great you keep such a positive attitude with your patients. When I was in the hospital (for 6 weeks!) with my DD the good nurses made such a difference...I had a few bad ones...but then I also had some great ones who helped me get through a very trying time! And you may want to check out YogaX again...it may not be cardio...but it is VERY strenuous....make sure you have lots of energy before you do it!

Traci...Have a fun afternoon before all those boys return! And speaking of gas...dear doggie just let another one and slept right through it!

Am I caught up?!? I think so...Hope the rest of you Xing ladies are having a good weekend with your families!

Sandra...Good grief!! Glad DD is not seriously injured...and I love how she relates it to Grandma...Thanks, hon! What are we going to do with you?!? Don't be too hard on yourself in regards to the exercise program....I am sure you are probably more critical of your physique than anyone else....Do your best and forget the rest, right?! And as I am sure you know...changes to your body never happen as quickly as you want...it takes such a long time to get the results you want...even if you do everything right every day...Take your eating a day at the time...and keep your DDs within arm reach to curtail any more injuries!
