Xer's Sunday Best

Hi all,

Just a comment on the interval cardio. I can't do it everyday either. I'm sticking to a combination of both. That has been working for me and I like the variety. I still think that consistency with DIET and exercise is key.

Sandra - Now I'm feeling sad that I didn't get out Fluid Power. I almost always break a good sweat, but it feels so good. That is on tap for me tomorrow. I can get so carried away with the sequences that I create. I love the longer backbend flow.

Well, IMAXI is done, and I must say, it was not easy! I haven't done it in quite some time and I skipped all of the recoveries except #5. I was sweating buckets and then did 300 walking lunges with 5lb dbs, and then almost all of Eion's long routine. I wouldn't say that I ate bad while we were gone, but I didn't eat enough protien throughout the days and I sure could feel it today. My worst eating issue was 3 giant Totsie rolls over the 11 days, and more bread than I've eaten in 3 months. I kept to salads and chicken for dinner. DS lifted me overhead yesterday and said he thought I felt lighter. I can't tell, although I did get on the scale at the grocery store right after we got to CO, I had no choice, they would have stuck me on it, and around noon, with shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt, I weighed 113. Can you see how paranoid I am about the scale? I wasn't too happy with that because I actually thought that I weighed a little more. I'm sure I probably did drop a few pounds of muscle water after that.

DS is now whole heartedly reading food labels, and it is quite funny to watch his reaction to the fat content of some of his, used to be favorite foods. He lost some fat around the middle these past two weeks, so he is happy. (He wasn't at all overweight, he just had what he called love handles:))I think he's inherited the "I hate BF thing from me!"

Which reminds me, Sandra the bread sounds delicious. I'd make some except DS's GF is coming over later. She loves my bread, but has lost 10lbs, Yeah!, and I don't want to temp her with bread. I do use my Kitchen Aid dough hook to get the bread started, then knead it out by hand to the final texture. Yes, same employer, just different position. It should be good though, and help me to move up the ladder a little.

I probably won't get CTX all upper in as planned today. I need to load up with protein before doing anything else. I'll do it tomorrow as planned on the rotation.

Back to work tomorrow, so I won't be around during the day. I'll chat with everyone later.

Hi all...finally here. The list of my personal problems is getting too long to type...so I will just talk about fitness a bit. I did end up doing GS legs yesterday...I only skipped a couple of segments...one of the sets of squats, one set of reverse lunges, and one set of roll outs on the ball (I hate those!). But other than that I did the whole thing...so I was pretty proud of myself! Then I did segment 3 of CM and then I did some of the hip section with Eion. Today, my DOMS aren't too bad...I am sure the yoga helped. Hammies a little tight...and I actually have some soreness in my calves, which I never have! So, today was a rest day and I was supposed to do some cleaning, but the rest of my life came tumbling down...so guess what...No cleaning done. I imagine it will be there for me tomorrow since the good fairies never seem to be around when you need them!

DD has her orientation at school in the morning. The teacher actually called to welcome us to class tomorrow. How nice is that?!? Just a quick walk through of the classroom to find out where her desk is etc. Should be good for DD to have me there with her as she gets used to the new school. I am going to have a friend put on the accessories on my bike tonight and I am hoping to get a ride in on Tuesday. Tomorrow will be SH bi and tris. Looking forward to this week of SH...I really like those workouts and they seem to give me the recovery time I need between sets without pausing all the time.

Sorry I just can't get to personals today. It sounds like everyone is doing well. Glad Cheryl's surgery went well, happy to see Tracy home, and glad Dean is missing Traci. I see that Sandra finally got her workout in and that Wendy is becoming the new Jeanette and Carol is lifting heavy just like me. Still missing Jeanette on her vacation. And I can't believe that Teddygirl is not working out today! Glad Nicole is getting a much needed rest day and happy anniversary to Laurie! I am sure Amy is sleeping now and I have to chime in with Jenn that too many of you get up way too early in the morning...lol!

Okay...I'm off for now...Will let everyone know how DD does at her first day in a big school tomorrow.

hugs to all!

Debra

Where is DebraX!!!!

Got some shopping done. Phil and I took the girls to the store to get ideas. While they were looking at other stores, I bought overpriced Justice for Girl's clothes and My Little Pet Shop toys. Phil's picking up a game for their Gamecube tomorrow. I have to buy tickets to a children's concert for them too. I haven't decided which one yet. I'll order over the phone and then tell them about it. I'm such a procrastinator! Normally, I'm good at buying gifts months in advance and stock piling it in my closet or attic. I should look to make sure I haven't and just forgotten.

Jenn: I hope I didn't get you sick! I was fine once I stopped sweating and walking into cold rooms, sweating again, chilling, repeat. Okay fine! Blame your sickness on me!:p I hope you feel better real soon!!!

Anointed TG: You must have the same illness as Jenn. Are you running a low grade fever too? One nice thing about doing the X consistently, I noticed when my body was feeling off by the amount I couldn't lift or the plyos I couldn't finish. It's good that you were able to get a good long sleep. Congrats on 9 gc!!!! Enjoy the rest day and family meeting! What do y'all do at these family pow-wows? Decide who's house to host the next all night birthday party?}( ;) ;)

NicoleX: You rest darling! TTOM is almost a week away. I think? I'll have to ask Traci when it's due.:7 I usually lighten my load the week prior to TTOM. My body needs more rest or I get more stressed and irritable! Just ask anyone in the house!!!

LaurieXX: Is it your anniversary today? How many years happily wed?

Cheryl: Thanks so much for explaining. See what happens when you don't sleep and lose your locker key! You feel like you've missed everything!! Say it ain't so!!!! An upper eye lift is on my dream reconstruction surgical list!!!! Oil of Olay can only help so much. I look so tired compared to my 20's.

Sandra-X: Answer: That's the beauty of raising six kids. We haven't needed a babysitter outside the family in YEARS! The older ones look after the younger ones when needed. The younger ones tell me what the older ones did while I was away. It's a win-win situation! LOL When we're up in State College, my teen-aged nieces also help me out with the girls. Also, dh doesn't work on the weekends. He's at home working on the kitchen. I think he prefers to have me out of the house instead of playing GC. Even if he wasn't working, dh knows that I normally never go anywhere, especially by myself. He calls me his Little Shut-In. I think he's tickled that I have the nerve to bike by myself. Although, I did mention looking for a biking group so I wouldn't have to ride alone. Another thing, my girls are sooo easy and pretty good! I know I'm blessed as their brothers at this age were vastly different; physically and mentally draining! The girls know how to fix themselves a snack, use the microwave, occupy themselves with their toys, and clean up after themselves. It wasn't always easy, especially the first 4 years of the twins' life!!! I paid the teenage neighbor girl to be my mother's helper for a couple of years just to get errands done. I never left her alone with the girls. I just needed someone to watch them while I ran in the post office to drop off a box to mail or play with them while I did a load of personal laundry. Since all three of them couldn't walk by themselves, she would help me take them to their endless doctors' appointments. Don't worry, you'll get there eventually. One day, this will be a past memory. That's a tempting time to have more kids!!!!:7 Even if your girls did end up getting more moles, at least they can look to you as their role model. It didn't hold you back from going to college, getting married, having children and taking care of your body! Thank you for the bread book recommendation! LOL about no longer being kneaded! Hey, isn't that a good thing! ;-) Phil got me the 6 qt Kitchen Aide Mixer for Christmas. I LOVE it! The size is perfect for double recipes. I have yet to use my dough hook. Looks like it'll be soon. Phil finally figured out why the new oven doesn't work. He has to replace a circuit. We bought our Dell at a good time. They were offering free memory and hard drive upgrades on the Inspirons at the time. After we bought it, Walmart had some HP's on sale for around what we paid. Theirs had less than half the hard drive we got on ours. The salesperson said that the chief complaint from Vista users was the computer freezing. He explained that they didn't have enough hard drive to support it properly.

Tracy-X: Can you still walk? sit? stand? move???? ^5^ for doing IMAX AND 300 walking lunges! with weights!!! 113 pounds?!?! Are you saying you lost muscle or water weight? I weigh 112 first thing in the morning NAKED on a good day!!! Eat some meat!!!;-)

Okay, I think it's time for me to relax in the tub. Don't worry Sandra, Phil's present to watch the kiddos. ;-)

JeanetteX: If you have time, can you give me some riding/shifting pointers. The bike trails are pretty much flat. However, the back country roads are filled with never ending hills. What should I shoot for in terms of mph? How can I achieve that when I seem to stay around 12th gear? Should I increase the gear? Am I even making sense?

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

There she is! Snuck in while I was posting! Debra, I don't know what you're going through, but honey here's a huge
Cyber Hug!!!

Take it easy on yourself!

Wendy

Debra, we're here if you need to vent! Anytime!!

Tracy, all - the article on interval cardio I read was in the new issue of O that just came out. It didn't say to do it every day, but just compared interval cardio to steady state as to effectiveness at fat loss and surprise! Actually, no real surprises there - but it was good to be reminded ;-)

What I'm thinking is that the 4 day split will be a great use of our time - workouts that last more or less an hour but go all-out on everything you engage in. I think it'll be a great program - and then we can add on a few more sets of anything important or a little extra time on the TM. Can't wait!

Cheryl

I'll get straight to it:)

WendyX, So glad Phil was Teacher's Pet at yoga class:) I hate it when I show my DH how I can do a trick and he does it too. I tell him he stole my thunder and to never do it again:p Way to start the post today! Maybe one day I'll have the pleasure. CM= Core Max. I was too lazy to type that out:)

Traci-X, Glad you ar out of HD path! My cousin was just in Jamaica for her honeymoon. I think she got out just in time. I hope your house at the bay fares well. I know what you mean by intense interval for shrter periods versus the long workouts at a steady state. I did HST(adv.) and it was a killer. Such high intensity bursts for the cardio. I really liked it but OMG it was tough! This bridal shower was much better than the last group. All of the ladies are just hilarious. You spend your time laughing and that is so great for a change:) I never got to read that article about workouts and TTOM. If I am supposed to start, would it be better towait a week before I start the heavy lifting or is it better to start now? I just don't want to waste my time if I wouldn't be at the peak of my strength.

Tracy-X, So glad to have you back! It sounds like a good trip to get away and hike your legs off:) How is DH now that he got a break? I hope he had time to settle himself and appreciate his family more. It's probably hard getting back to the day to day but I hope decisions were made while you were gone. It's always good to get away from it all. Sometimes it's easier to see things from a distance. BTW,I too HATE to work legs. My legs are proportionate to the rest of my body so I ignore them a lot! The new series will be shipping sometime in Sept. That was out of SNM's mouth:D My back is feeling better today. I went to the chiro 2x last week and it's much better. He said my hipflexors were tight and I need to stretch them more and strengthen my back more.

Carol, Glad you are getting time with your mom. How far away does she live? Sounds like you have alot more involved ortho with DS. Mine fell when he was 4 and smacked his tooth on a cabinet. The tooth died and when the new one came in, it came in over the dead tooth. It was jutting straight out and looked awful! I am so glad it is getting better but the bills stink:( Have a safe trip home.

Cheryl, LOL! Your DH sounds like he has a sense of humor like mine:D I told him and he got a twinkle in his eye...oh, no!! Is it just too cool seeing right when you get out of bed? My DH has wanted to do that forever. My prescription changes too much otherwise I would get it done as well.

SandraX, I really like HE but if you were tired LIC is definitelt the better choice. I always go for that one when I feel a little pooped around TTOM. What a great Bday cake you made for yourself! I am so excited for baking season to start here. It is just too hot for it right now:( The bridal shower was fun and much more relaxed than most. The women there are all sooo funny! It's nice to laugh a lot:) Forward me the OD post so I can play with color too:) My back is better today. I need to do yoga to really check. Thanks for asking!

Jenn, I hope you are feeling better! That's the pits to get sick:( I think you must have worn yourself out with Cathe and hammered the nail into the coffin with BC! The only reason I like getting sick is the weight loss part. The good thing is the weight loss usually motivates me to lose more:p You however, are too cute as is and don't need to worry about such silliness:)

AmyX, Glad to see you gave the boss the bird and checked in with us. I hope they have let up a little on the computer usage at work. Glad your trip went well and you got a break from the everyday!

Anointed, Glad you got a good rest in last night and glad you rested today!!! I hope you feel better and ready to go soon. You have so much on your plate lately, it's no wonder you're worn out!

DebraX, I hope you get a chance to breath soon. DS aren't going abck to school until Sept. 4th and I feel like I need a good schedule soon. Is everything ok? You seem overwhelmed. Life can be such a poo sometimes. I'm glad we all go through it at different times so we can help each other throught the tough times. Feel better soon. {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}

LaurieXX, Are you out on a hot date?

Swifty, HI!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot someone I know it:(

See you all tomorrow,

Nicole
