Well imagine my surprise to be the First Poster today! I'm going to send out a search party for the rest of you, because this ain't right!

Yesterday I did SH Biceps and abs, and the last BB TS workout: #1 (SJP step, chest & triceps). I remembered those bonus push ups were hard, and I remembered correctly. I think it's the ultra brief rest she gives in between the two sets that make them so tough. Anyone else find that?

Today is the last SH day!!! I'm doing back (groaning already about the double arm rows) and planks. For cardio today I thought I'd get creative and instead of the BM2 power circuits I had planned, I put together a 60min workout using the cardio from the BB series that was not on the Timesaver dvd. I used my combo vhs/dvd player to make a vhs workout that I've called Body Blast Cardio Mix. It goes like this:

SJP hi/lo #4
SB warm up
KPC combo #1
SB Challenge Round #1
KPC combo #2
SB Challenge Round #2
KPC combo #3
SJP hi/lo #3
SB Challenge Round #3
SB cool down & stretch
KPC stretch.

I'll be heading off to do this workout soon, and will report back with how well it went.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi all,

Today is upper body and some yoga. I may do some S&H, but I'd like to come up with something more interesting. It really should be a push/chin up day.

Sandra - That looks like a fun combination. I try to get creative and will use my laptop, dvd player, and vhs to create some interesting combinations. If I don't ride my bike tomorrow, I'll have to be creative.

Hi to all who follow.

Tracy

Back with a few personals while I eat my banana.

Tracy - Nice run yesterday. I enjoy running the fall more than any other time of year. Have the trees turned colour in your part of the world? I hear your concerns about the GF's weight. Is an attempt at pregnancy a likely event in the near future? I gained a lot of weight after DD#1 was born, and refused to even consider another pregnancy until I lost the weight. I'm glad I did; it's tough enough without all the extra to lug around. About the cardio in the new series: I wouldn't get too bummed about it. I imagine it's going to be like the CTX series, where the warm ups are "active." The really short cardio is the kickboxing workout, which is followed by the legs. Together the cardio and the weights on that one will have us working hard for a good hour, I'm pretty sure. The cardio on the CTX Kickbox is about the same length. And Cathe has made all those cardio premixes that are at least an hour. By this time next week many of us will have the workouts in our hands!!! Woohoo!!!

Debra - How goes the life of the Singleton?

Anointed - I suspect you're feeling the SH workouts so much because you're tacking on the same MIS body part! LOL! That's just cruel and unusual punishment for your poor muscles. Enjoy your honeymoon with Teddyboy. Ahhh, to be young and in love again :)

Jeanette - I didn't make the pumpkin smoothie yet. It's too many calories to be a replacement for my Extreme Green smoothie. So, I'm just eating a banana until I can get to the store. I did have a pumpkin spice latte (tall, 1% milk, no whipped cream) from Starbucks yesterday afternoon, though! I counted it as part of my second lunch. Love that pumpkin!

Laurie - CC#3 is such a good one. I'm going to miss doing those this winter. I wonder if I'll ever get up the gumption to do one in my basement, using activities such as jumping jacks, walking lunges, etc.? I do have a very basic treadmill, so could use that for power walking, I suppose. I'd probably bring up the hearing issue by saying something like, "How's your hearing these days? I *said*....HOW'S YOUR HEARING THESE DAYS??" :D Absolutely, ditch the unappreciative niece the next time out. Who needs a party pooper?

Wendy - My goodness, you had One Of Those Days yesterday, didn't you? Why is your head feeling so awful? Are you still fighting the cold? Is the Neti Pot still worth it's weight in gold? I keep meaning to buy one of those. Maybe this week.

Nicole - It sounds like a trip to the DR is definitely necessary. I promise I'll join you and get my elbow lump checked out. My nurse-friend last weekend said that it can't be bursitis because it's too far down into my forearm. She said it's likely a hemotoma (build up of blood from an injury), or a cyst (as Carol said). Since I want to change doctors, I've procrastinated in making an appointment. I've got to first figure out how to find a new doctor. Take care of your aches and pains. Aren't you planning on a second round of the X soon? We need you healthy enough for that!

Amy - Nice to see your post last night. That's a huge accomplishment, to be able to control your portions at a restaurant. Excellent progress!!!!

I made my rotation for next week, which is my week off from heavy lifting. Hopefully I'll get the 4-Day Split before next Monday, and can go right into that after this week:

Sunday: BodyMax2 (or the Scrambled Eggs premix...can't decide yet whether I want to do the upper body portion tomorrow).

Monday: Butts 'n Guts premix #1: Standing Glutes and abs Timesaver. Yoga or stretching if time permits.

Tuesday: Low Impact Circuit

Wednesday: Cardio Fusion

Thursday: Yoga

Friday: Butts 'n Guts premix #2: Overall Legs, with the main workout abs inserted before the stretch.

Saturday: Drill Max.

Sunday: Rest

Anyone care to join me? :) :) :)

Have a great day! Here's a big "hello" to the Gang Who Haven't Posted Yet!

Sandra

Afternoon,

Rotation: S&H/week I
am: hour jog/ completed
pm: B&G or GS legs

How is everyone this morning, I'm good :D I had a good night sleep. I was up early.

I just got back from the dentist been home long enough too cook breakfast, I had steel oats and 3 egg whites with cheese. Preparing to do lower body, in the next 30 minutes or so.

Sandra: liken your rotation, nice work! Oh, I'm loving S&H may do eight weeks.

Tracy: Enjoy you workout.

I'll check back need to make a few phone calls :D

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Kenpo X and then Recovery Week!!! Whooooo Hooooo!!!!

Sandra, I agree. What's up with you people!:7 ;) Traci goes away and everyone suddenly leaves? I imagine that Amy is sleeping, AmyX is riding all over PA, Carol is kicking soccer balls and cleaning, Cheryl has jetted to Paris, Teddygirl is being pampered by Teddyboy after walking 50 miles, Jeanette is playing golf with the priest before her son's bbq, Debra is taking a nap, Nicole is bent over trying to get ready for wedding festivities, Tracy is playing with Shiva, Laurie is driving all around God's creation, and Lea is cleaning up for Traci's arrival. Was I right Ladies?

I'm freezing! I've been hunkered down under blankets until Phil finishes winterizing the house before he cranks up the heaters for the first time this season.

I'm not complaining. The man took my place at the fall harvest party last night without me having to resort to crying. Came straight home from work, washed up, and dealt with a ton of kids. I love him!!!!!

Sandra: I spoke to Jenn yesterday on the phone. She says I sound terrible and need to see a doctor. I might be getting or have a sinus infection. I'll make an appointment on Monday if I'm not better. I was getting better until my shots and typhoid pills. I wonder if that lowered my immunity. I think the neti pot is great for allergens in the nose causing problems and the thicker stuff. But, it's recommended to use it every 2 hours. And, I'm not diligent enough to stop what I'm doing to run water through my nose. Anyhoo.... Your cardio workout looks Greek to me considering I don't own SJP or SB. I'm sure it's a killer knowing you!

Tracy: What workout did you end up doing for today? How's your class coming along? Glad you are enjoying the cooler weather. I can't wait to get to the tropical climate and thaw out!!!:7

Amy: I am so happy for you! Changing eating habits is difficult!!!! 3 slices with water is my limit. If I eat 3 slices, I feel disgustingly full afterwards. While I'm eating that third slice, I'll often say, "Now, I'm just being gluttonous!" But, I'll eat it anyway if it's really good! I'm so proud of you for shrinking down that stomach and listening to your body! I love merlot. I had to quit drinking it when it started giving me headaches. Darn tannins!!!! Are you ever going to do workout videos again? I admire that you can stick to a weight lifting workout from a book!

Nicole: Oh dear! Take a day off!!!! You're a mess!!! Go get your knee looked at. Why do you think your knee is messed up? That sounds so painful! Yes, Phil stepped up to the plate without pause. After they left, I did L&B (skipped ARX) and took a nice long bath. He's so much more patient than I am with teaching the twins math. He's doing well. He's often said, that if I something would happen to me, he would try to homeschool the girls after work instead of putting them in school. He's more committed than I am! LOL If something should happen to him, I'd probably seriously consider school before considering work and homeschool. Have fun at the wedding!!!!

Teddygirl: Ooo, popcorn sounds good. But, then I'd have to change my sheets since I preview workouts in my bed! Well, I could eat on Phil's side of the bed.:7 Let me know how a week's worth of BBC goes if you decide to do it. I'm thinking I wasted $20 after watching the total body dvd. I'll watch the other dvds one of these days when there's nothing on tv.

Laurie: I know why you haven't done the full body BBC workout... it's because it looks dangerous! I really think it does. The moves are simple enough, but not very well thought out. Oh! You have to check out Anthony Bourdain's blog on www.bravotv.com I love the man! He reminds me of my father!!!!!!! He's got the same body type and sense of humor. My gfs all thought my dad was hot. Ewwww!!!! Yeah, Hung was full of himself. But, that didn't bother me. He wasn't nasty mean towards others. He was playing a game for $100,000 and working it!

Jeanette: My gf turned 40 two days ago. She's fighting the aging process with Denise Austin's yoga! EWWWWW All I could do was laugh and ask her how she could stand that woman watching that fake smile. Then her dh walked in and saw Denise Austin and asked her the same thing!!! She wanted to know if he'd been talking to me too! LOL I think the change in seasons is messing with you and me. I'll try and send you some tropical weather vibes while I'm away.;) Hope you're having a wonderful time celebrating your son's graduation into the world of lineman!!!!! Phil's apprenticeship lasted 5 or 7 years. I can't remember. He was so happy to finally stop going to school!

Debra: I am one naive woman! I thought the more kids I had, the less drama! LOL I'm doing well with the weight. I gained a couple of pounds from the heavy lifting. I'm at 112. Hopefully, I'll look more defined after recovery week. Oh, I can see it now. I'll crack a few bones doing thai massage and send them over to you for physical therapy! Sounds perfect!!! LOL

Well, ladies, I'm thawing out now that the heaters are on. Gotta do something productive like laundry.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Today's the big day! I am so happy to have this time with my family:)

Guess what? I am NOT working out today...gasp! I will be back on track come Monday:p

This is the first time in three years I have missed a workout. At least it was pre-planned and intentional and not me wimping out, right?

Thanks for all of the "take a break" coaxing:)

Enjoy your weekend girls!

Nicole

Hi all,

I ended up doing all of GS upper plus the usual pull/chin ups. It was a good workout and now all I'll need is one easy upper body workout for the rest of the week.

Nicole - Congratulations on making the tough decision not to workout. I'm sure the rest will do you good.

I'll check back later.

Tracy

Hi all,
Not much time to post. I did a couple of Christi Taylor step workouts this morning, had fun with them. Just finished badly needed cleaning of the house. Maybe I should get into Fly Lady? My mom does it and it's helped her tremendously. Hmmmm.... DH and DS are outside cleaning up the garage/BBQ area for the shindig this afternoon. I have to go to town and pick up the cake. I asked for whipped cream frosting and now I'm thinking that I shouldn't have as don't you have to refrigerate it? I don't have any more room in the fridge for the cake.

Wendy, LOL about your predictions on what everyone is doing today! I would have liked to go to the golf course but knew that would be cutting it too close with the housework I needed to do. I will be playing golf with the prison priest again a week from this Monday. Maybe he'll see a difference in my game and I won't have to struggle with not cussing around him. He'd probably make me do 50 Our Fathers and 25 Hail Mary's (I used to be Catholic so know all about confession and penance).

Hope to be back tonite,

Jeanette

Hi there you crazy ladies! The planets are definitely out of alignment if Sandra is starting us off and this is the first time I have had time all day to say hello! Life as a singleton is pretty good, Sandra. We ended up at a comedy club last night which was a lot of fun and then back to a local pub for a few drinks...I ended up staying up really, really late. Gracious! I tried to nap a couple of times today, but was always awakened for some reason or another...so Wendy, no naps for me! DD and I headed to the farmer's market this afternoon and got a couple of pumpkins for carving, some mums, some cabbage to eat, and some fresh beef. Very nice time. Then DD and I did some Halloween decorating this afternoon. I had a friend over this evening to watch Carolina play football (they almost one...which was a huge accomplishment) and have some pizza. More good times! I did get 30 minutes of Step Heat in this afternoon....I should have done legs, but really didn't have the time...And gotta tell you...I may end up doing yoga tomorrow instead of starting my rotation then. I finally found my Shiva dvd yesterday while digging for Halloween decorations...so I may just do that tomorrow and then start my new rotation on Tuesday. DD is out of school on Monday and we are heading to the zoo, so I will probably take Monday as a rest day. I also need to note that I have a lot of DOMS in my upper body and abs from Kenpo yesterday. I was having a bit of frustrating day, and I really pretended like I was actually hitting and blocking someone and got a lot out of the workout.

Finally...onto some personals....

Traci...Waving to you in California!

Laurie...Waving as you speed by in what I presume is your mini van!

Cheryl, Lea, Swifty, Carol...Where are you guys?????

Nicole....Have a great time with your family celebration! When does DH leave on his big trip? I am sure you will miss him tons...even though there may be healthier eating involved while he is gone...LOL! So glad you are taking a much needed rest day.

Jeanette...I am sure you are having a great time with your family this afternoon. I am glad you were able to squeeze in a workout this morning before the start of the festivities. What is 'Fly Lady'? Hope the cake was okay...I don't think you have to refrigerate that...but as we all know, I don't bake!

Amy...Glad the pizza was divine...and good for you for just having a couple of pieces...Portion control is always the hardest part.

Tracy...Sounds like you had a nice run yesterday. And the pooches too! It's a shame that the GF is already having health problems....that is only going to get worse. It must be hard to see her struggle. Is FIL with you guys this weekend? All of GS upper?? All I can say is wow. I thought of you while I was searching for Shiva.

Teddygirl....So glad you are having a good weekend...How many more dentist trips are you going to have to make?? No way are you going to be able to do SH for 8 weeks....You will lose your mind.

Wendy....Glad you gained a couple of pounds in all the right ways. I am hanging pretty steady at my ultimate goal weight. All good! Still my eating is not where it should be....but what else is new....LOL! Get to a doctor, you silly woman. How are you going to educate all of those kids if you aren't feeling well! How many shots have you had to get so far for your trip? Do you have more to get? Crack those bones, baby...I'm here to help! I already have to guinea pigs to practice on here, so that is good. I have my meeting with my academic person at school this week. I am really looking forward to getting started with this. It seems that Phil is a definite keeper!

Sandra...I am so glad to hear your optimism on getting the new workouts soon. I certainly hope you are right. I am starting a one part a day rotation next week. I know you consider your up coming week a "recovery" but gotta tell ya...looks pretty tough to me...LOL! So with the Canadian health care system you are able to switch doctors any time? Just on a purely curious American basis. Please go get the elbow looked at...It sounds like it needs attention. How many cakes are you baking this weekend? And weren't you the imaginative girl with your workout today? Aren't you supposed to be squeezing in Squeeze this week? I didn't see that in your rotation!

Okay...Think that catches me up for now...Hope everything is going well for you all. I promise to see you guys earlier tomorrow since I am definitely heading to bed right now. Nighty night!

Debra
