:D Kinda early for most of you to be having fun unless you are doing it from a bed!}( STOP THAT & get the day rolling!:+

~~LAURIE -XXX~~
GREAT workout the other day! Do you Like BBC Full Body? I've never done it but if memory serves its a body weight one, right? Colored Guts! YUMMMMMM!~ Tell DD that we are all rooting for her to have a phenominal year in track!

~~TRACY -XX~~
ROF about your conversation w/ mom! I have those all too often! I do better w/ my mom via email otherwise its always a bit depressing. ~ I will take your advice & lighten up on my workout styles...I also need to do mentally whats good for me day to day. Hoping that once I see all the amazing bodies @ the retreat I will be motivated & on track again. The environmental change will surely do wonders for me. Thanks for your concern & offers. I'd be happy to enlist your help with a rehab plan..Maybe when we see each other I can show you what positions I can & cant do without pain.... I appreciate it. ~~ Sorry the run wasnt what you wanted but it sounds like you know exactly why..I'm amazed at all of you who are so in tune with what your inner body lacks, has too much of, would benefit from. ~~ STILL having a hard time seeing you watch Reality TV! My favs are Big Brother & The Big Give. This year thats it tho...We got the "cheap" cable package a few months ago so no Workout on Bravo...Thats OK- Too many of them tend to make me very negative about humanity..those people will rationalize ANY behavior...Use to watch Survivor until 2 seasons ago when I decided it was just another way to have naked women on screen in primetime!:+

~~DEBRA -X~~
Oh Happy Day!!!!!! I'm SURE you feel better today & DD is sad...Drive safely & have a GREAT time!

~~WENDY -X~~
FABULOUS news on your mom! That had to make your day!!!~ Are you not excited about blog updates because they dont appeal to you or "just because" its all so far away? - I must say if STS arrived today it would go in my "closet" unopened- now thats Exercise Burnout!~~ Strange happenings in Bible Class for sure! YES- it will all somehow be "the cute asians" fault--Gotta LUV organized religion babe!

~~NICOLE -XX~~
Hope DH had a nice birthday...alwasy sounds like (to me) that EVERYDAY is his birthday...some men dont know when they have it good. Did ya bake & cook & clean & dress up all sexy for him?

~~SANDRA -XX~~
ROF!!!! Hand me a smoke!!!!!!! OMG!! Thats priceless! If I EVER got that feeling I'd surely be a yoga junkie! ~~WOW! Look at you posting all those recipes!!!!! My word your halo must be GLOWING today!

~~JEANETTE -X~~
WooHOO! You luv your hair!!! Hey- ya gotta stick with what you like right?...I dont think I'll ever be brave enough to go short...I have a fat face anyway & I think that makes it worse BUT now that my face hangs down to my shoulders the long hair isnt cutting it either! I need lots & lots of great wigs! ~~ Love the golf tips! You are priceless! ~~ Pick a SUPER CHARGED YUMMY cake to make this weekend!!! I LUV cake more than any other food group!

OK- Thats it for me & playing catch-up..... We shall see what the spirit moves me to do today ..... :*

Good morning,

Traci....It's definitely too early in my world for having fun! Are you having fun yet? I got a nice happy face on after looking at the new blog photos. Cathe's wearing coloured pants!! Only someone as petite as she is in the lower body could get away with wearing green pants. Those would make me look huge, I'm sure. I checked out your webpage yesterday to see if you made any updates. You look so good in those photos. The outfit you're wearing while doing a bench press or fly - is that from one of Cathe's suppliers? Oh My Bod, perhaps? Your legs look so shapely in that photo.

Wendy....Did you get some yoga in last night? Did you buy PY4H2? I need to order that myself. I remember now all you said about the peanut flavouring in Thai food. I guess that's primarily a western hemisphere adaptation, huh? Thanks for the verdict on the food. I'll be making those roll ups this week. I hope you have some success with the pizza crust. That's really cool about the girls being mirror image twins. What do you mean they were the easiest of all your kids?!?! I've read all about the problems you had with feeding them, and just generally taking care of them, due to their premature births. That didn't sound easy by any stretch of the imagination. But it sure would have been fascinating to see and hear them interact. Do they still talk in their own language to each other? Or at what age did that stop?

Jeanette....Men!!! That is hilarious about your DH biking in jeans and boots. No wonder he's not "into" the sport. As with the peanut butter in the "Thai" recipes, I'm also seeing frequent use of cayenne and crushed red pepper. So, if you like those, you might like these recipes. In the P90X nutrition manual there's a recipe for "Spicy Chinese Noodles", in Phase 3, that is really, really yummy. (Light bulb moment!: I guess that just proves Wendy's point that this is more of a Chinese food combination than a Thai one. Huh. Wendy's so smart).

I'm off to the basement in a minute, and still not sure what I'm going to do today. I'm thinking maybe of doing the Hi/Lo Intervals workout from the Hardcore Extreme dvd, but without the KM Blast at the end. I think it's around 50mins, without the blast. Not sure yet. I'm having a hard time settling on a cardio that will feel like it's worth the time and effort, but not going to make me need a glycogen drip for the rest of the day.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi all,

Last night was miserable. I tweeked my glute/piriforis doing APX legs, what 2 weeks ago?, and it is just not going away. The muscle started to spasm after I did yoga, which is unusual, (I shouldn't have done Shiva's standing flow from Fluid Power because it recruits so many muscles to stabilize:()and it took over an hour to stop which sent nasty pain down my leg. Ugghhh........

Anyway, today is another day and I vow never to do any leg work but Cathe's because every time I do I end up with some little something that is not good.

Today is supposed to be legs and cardio, but I'm going to see how I feel later before I decide for sure.

Cathe looks great in the green. What she must be like a 7 year old around the hips? Either that or she has gotten bigger in the upper body and it creates a nice optical illusion.

Traci - I'm looking forward to seeing you at the retreat and we can see what you can do pain free and put our heads together to come up with something to rebuilt that shoulder girdle. I've taken up to three weeks off in the summer, with or without a little hiking thrown in, and still been able to come right back without too much trouble. I think breaks are good. I'll be off of a rotation starting today.

Wendy - Thinking pie and getting spinach....Ohhh that probably wasn't too good. It was like my thinking smoothie and getting stomach turning, gag producing, spinach. You know what I think about spinach. I bet the situation at church was priceless! That's pretty strong language for an 8 year old. I wonder where he heard it? Home maybe? I'm just experimenting with some of the different oils/flavors. The family seems to like the stuff, I'm just uncertain what to try. I may go try to find that recipe Sandra is talking about in the p90x book.

Sandra - In Shiva's live dvd, at one point, the girl that is demonstrating the poses looks like she is at the point in bed just before the cigarette.(It's almost a little distracting!) I must say, I never get that feeling from yoga, but that hip opening flow is rather enjoyable:)I ordered a couple of dvds from B Kest last night. Maybe the lack of motivation is a sign to take a recovery week.

Jeanette - I'm considering my run yesterday equivalent to an easy spin. It's really all about the semantics isn't it? The warmer weather probably didn't help either, but it was more of a muscle issue than cardio issue. I hit the wall fast. When does your actual spring start? I'm still fooling with these darn woodstoves. I think another couple of weeks and I'll clean up once and for all.

Tracy

Hi all! Popping on to say good bye for now..I should have some time this week to do mini checkins. Can't wait to see my BFF...I definitely need some girly time! I promise to be back to my regular chipper and non-self absorbed self by the time I return!

Kisses to all!!

Good morning,
I didn't work out this morning, but am planning a bike ride after work today. I got a little more sleep in, which did feel nice just to not do anything.

Traci, sounds like you just need a rest from working out, or to do some other activity for a while. I know, I am going thru it too, and have for a while. Just not motivated right now to push too hard. Bet when I see everyone at the retreat looking all buff, I'll say, Dang, what was I thinking doing those little short easy premixes and timesaver workouts? LOL! I think I'm just getting more comfortable with myself lately. Better not get too comfortable or I'll outgrow all my clothes LOL!

Sandra, I'll have to check out the recipe for the noodles. I need to decide what I want to make for the folks' meal on Friday. Also, what kind of dessert or cake for my sister's belated birthday.

Tracy, so sorry about the leg/hip pain. Please take it easy, though I know right now that you will as you are so in tuned with your body. I think I probably baby myself too much, just so afraid of injury that I don't lift heavy enough. I think we are pretty much getting into spring here, but still using a fire to keep the house warm. DH will try to use that as long as he can.

Debra, hope you drive safe and have a wonderful time with BFF!!! Pop in when you can, okay? We'll be here.

Later,

Jeanette

Morning Xers,

Rotation: Cathe Feb08/Week 2/Day 4
Workout: Off / PY4H Daily Dose of Bliss (what I did)

Frog cupcakes had to go to school with DH and DD. No bus ride for them. :7 :7 They turned out really cute, and DD put a lot of work into them.

Oldest DD's 4x800 relay team came in first yesterday. DD was the first runner, and had them a half lap ahead of the next runner by the time she handed off the baton. Their 4x400 team came in 3rd. :), she also started them off on that one too.

Yesterday I was looking at the wrong week of the rotation, and I was suppose to do Powermax instead of Lowmax. :7 :7 :7 Of course I won't be doing PM either, so I will have to sub for that next week. :D I told DD this morning that I shaved 20 seconds off my mile. She said "Oh that's nothing for a mile." :( :7 :7 Sassy girl isn't she! :D

Traci, Yep BBC Full Body is all body weight exercises. I liked it, but thought it had way to many push up options. Would have liked to see more leg work, but I must say my shoulders did feel it after I was done. I do like Barry the best of all instructors on these workouts. I caved and ordered the new set, I really like Barry. Will see how I feel when I get the workouts.

Tracy, Glad you where able to make the run work for you. To bad your body didn't want to run though. I do get days like that myself when it comes to a run. :D I have been watching American Idol (with the DD's), Top Chef and Biggest Loser. Of course I will be watching Hell's Kitchen, why does a swearing Gordon Ramsey appeal to me. I don't understand it myself. :D :D Alot of mine center around cooking don't they. :7 :7 Take care of that leg.

Sandra, I was surprised that Cathe was in green pants too. She usually only has the dark colors, but she does look good. Thanks for all the recipes yesterday. Will be trying out the WW crust for sure. I ran into the motivation thing just before I changed the time that I was doing my workouts. I just couldn't get into working out after a long day at work. I have been doing so much better with the morning routine. :)

Debra, Wish I was you right now, have a great time.

Jeanette, Have a great time on that bike after work. Glad you where able to get that extra sleep. I think part of my problem with golfing is that I have played softball for years. So you never want to hit the ground with your bat, and that may be why I was always hitting the top of the ball too.

Wendy, Glad your Mom is getting to understand her sugar levels. I have a KitchenAid mixer also, but never have gotten the grinder parts for it. You have to be saving a ton of money doing it that way. Guess I'm getting that attachment in the near future. I love cooking with turkey. :9 Sugar cookies with melted butterscotch chips. Sounds really good too. :9

Nicole, Great workout, got to LOVE that IMAX2! :D

Have a great day!

Laurie

Okay, I finally settled on doing Cardio Kicks, and it was the peeeerfect workout for me today!! I wasn't really wanting to step at all, but none of the hi/lo or other kickboxing workouts seemed very appealing either. I'm so happy I picked CK. I feel good now, but not whooped.

Wendy....I forgot to mention I LOL'd about the 8 year old sailor in your bible class. That is hilllllarious. DD#1 and I are reading Little House on the Prairie together, and I'm getting a little concerned about what she's learning. So far, Ma has announced great dislike for "Indians", the family's lived on nothing but cornbread, molasses, and salted pork for weeks (there was no dried fruit to be found?), and children are to be seen and not heard. DD#1 interrupted the story to ask me what that last bit means. Oh, how times have changed.

Tracy....Your muscle is STILL acting up from that leg workout?? I think that was more like 3 weeks ago! My goodness, that's exasperating. I think there are few people who could get away with wearing that outfit Cathe's go on. She's such a show off ;) That's hilarious about the Shiva girl. I think the crew at the end of PY4H all look the same way, too. For me there's a direct relationship between having a stretched out hips/lower back/torso and feeling good. I must lock a lot of tension in my lower body. Yup, I'm doing a recovery week, or two. This week I'm going to alternate cardio and yoga days. Next week I'll do the same, but incorporate circuits somehow.

Debra....Have a great trip!! Don't worry about checking in. We'll still be here when you get back!

Jeanette....It sounds like everyone going to the retreat is feeling a bit self conscious about how they're going to look, relative to one another. We all seem to be putting a lot of pressure on ourselves to look a certain way. But realistically, if we all looked like Cathe, or any of her crew, wouldn't we be in fitness showbiz, and not living real life? Those people have to sacrifice a lot to look the way they do, for a brief time on camera. The retreat is all about the companionship, isn't it? You all haven't turned it into a physique competition, have you? If Debra demands that you wear a glittery bikini the whole time you're there, I would suggest all of you turn around and go home. That's just not playing nice :) I'll be bringing dessert to Easter dinner on Sunday. I was thinking of making a nice cake, until DD#1 piped up and requested a cherry pie. WTH?? This is like Tracy asking for spanokopita! But (heavy sigh) I'll make it. I'm buying a can of cherry pie filling, though. My pastry recipe makes enough for two pies. Any suggestions on what I should put in the second pie?

It's grocery shopping day. Yay.
Sandra

Hi Laurie! Congratulations to YOU for shaving 20secs off your mile! That IS a big deal in my book. Oh yes, and give DD a pat on the back for her great races. Make sure you remind her who she got her talent from :) I don't seem myself as being very good at after-work workouts, either. Don't tell DH, but it does impress me that he's as consistent as he is with his bedtime workouts, even if they are only 10mins long these days! Let me know how well the pizza dough works out for you.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi all,

I have decided on a not too hard leg circuit. I'm not sure which one yet, and some core.

Laurie - I would be happy to shave some time off of my mile. I think 20 seconds is great! Kids are not very fogiving to us old folks, but their day will come.

Sandra - If Debra has plans for us to sport around bikinis, with sequenes (sp) or not, I will not be going:)I agree about the hip openers. In general they make me feel so good. There really is something to all of the yoga stuff. It just took a while and time to make me a believer. I'm bringing the veggies to our Easter Fiesta. At least that way I'll have something to eat.

Off to workout.

Tracy

Just letting you all know I'm alive. I've got so much to do today! Yoga never happened last night. So, I've got that on my plate this evening. Man, this cycle is brutal!!!

I'll try to get back online tonight for personals.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Painting- seriously:p

It's project day at the McD ranch:D I am in the process of painting my room. DH is cracking the whip! I closed a refinance yesterday and I need to get the house pretty for the appraisal.

DH apologized for being a tweed and all was well. He had a nice birthday overall and no Traci, no cute outfit;)

Off to paint more before he gets home from picking up the boys. He lost a game of rock paper scissors so he had to go:7

See you all tomorrow when the world is right and DH is back at work:D

Nicole

Hi all!! I am here safe and sound in Charleston. All is good here...The temps are in the 70's...Windy as heck, though! We had a great seafood dinner...and having some cocktails and catching up. All good things!!

Not going to try to catch up on personals right now...but let me just say...there is NO WAY we are having any sort of bikini contest...and Sandra, I think you are just trying to start a ansty rumor to steer people away from my place!!! Just because it is always too cold in Canada for bikinis doesn't make North Carolina a bad place! Also...I think we should have Tracy teach a whole yoga class for us as a group. Tracy, you won't have to strain yourself (by the way...sending healing vibes to your glutes)...just correct us all in our form!

I did not exercise yesterday or today, but I am planning on yoga tomorrow....I brought down both Eoin's...since of course, I love him!

Okay...out of here for now...Have a wonderful week and I will see you when I can!!

Kisses to all!
Debra

Yoga is Done! My hips feel magical!:) Yippee, tomorrow is Core Synergistics. I might have to try and squeeze that in the morning as I have a sitter lined up for power heated yoga class.

Traci: I highly doubt my body will motivate you. On second thought, you might be motivated to push play or else your body will look like mine!:7 You're probably better off not watching Bravo. It's my junk food for my mind. The blog pics appeal to me. I'm glad the moves are, minus the paper plates, traditional looking. And, I'm not excited because of the length of time before they arrive. What excites me can't be photographed... unless they had a group of before/after shots. What excites me is the structure of the program laid out for my lazy mind.:+ While it's nice to see progress (actually filming), I won't get excited until I see results in my mirror. I don't blame you for being burnt out with exercising. Taking a few months this winter boosted my motivation. Oh, yeah... I don't think they'd be calling me cute, especially when I wear my 4" heels.}( :+ Please! You do not have a fat face!!! I saw your pictures!!! :p :)

Sandra: I know what you mean! If I wore those green pants, I'd look like a squashed pea!:+ I stopped short of buying PY4H2 when I couldn't think of anything else I needed to buy for a penny more to get the free shipping. I tried looking. I even thought about buying one of those expensive skidless towels by yogitoes. But, I couldn't make up my mind. So, I went to bed. Now that you mention all the twin's difficulties, it does call for an explanation. Well, although the girls had a lot of physical issues (most of which they have outgrown), they were so easy in that they were not and are not demanding. They were and are very content. They would entertain each other instead of crying if I left the room. They never threw a temper tantrum when it was bed time. They hardly ever bicker or fight with one another. Only once did they want to go off on their own in separate directions when we were out in public. The rest of the time, they always followed me. They never threw a temper tantrum in public. EVER. They are just very sweet girls who love to please their parents. Hope it stays that way when they are teenagers! :) LOL about your daughter's Little House on the Prairie summary. Wonder what she thinks about the Bible! All the mass murders, back stabbing, infidelity, etc... LOL

Tracy: Can you massage the pain away just a little? It sounds so painful and aggravating!!! To be honest, I never realized you hated spinach so much. I totally don't remember the spinach smoothie. That doesn't sound good at all!!! I have no idea where the boy learned to talk like a sailor. Maybe on the school bus!:7 That's where I learned more than needed in my elementary school years!! As for experimenting, that's the best way to learn! Perhaps, you can taste the different oils and spices on their own to get an idea of the flavors they add to a dish. My mom is always telling me to taste it and figure out what the dish needs. If it needs salt, add more fish sauce. If it needs more tang, add more lime. etc... That's what I did with the capers too. I never had them in my life until a couple weeks ago. I spotted them on the shelves when I was shopping, and remembered Anthony Bourdain picking them in Sicily. Once home, I opened a jar and ate one. I figured the saltiness would go good with the salmon.

Laurie: My Shells loves frogs! Too bad you didn't have picturetrail so you could post the cupcakes. Awesome!!! I hope dd knows where she gets her athletic abilities!!!!:D The Kitchenaid mixer attachment works great for grinding meat. I use it all the time to grind chicken. I bought pre-ground chicken once and I was underwhelmed with the taste. I want to get the bowl attachment. It's a bowl that sits under the main mixing bowl. You fill the outer bowl with ice or hot water depending on what you're mixing. It keeps the food hot or cold while mixing. I would work so good for adding melted chocolate and mashed potatoes. I haven't seen them in the stores. I think you can only buy it on their website. I thought about buying the wheat grinder and grinding my own wheat. But, I hear it makes a lot of mess, and the dust isn't good for people with allergies. Looks like I'll buy my wheat already ground.

Nicole: Glad your dh had a nice birthday painting. Now, see... I would think the loser would have to stay and finish painting! Are you leaning out with a painting rotation?:D

Debra: You just have a cocktail for me too!!! I think Sandra' Dreaded Day three has rubbed off on me. WTHeck! What smack is Sandra talking about again! My bikini is shoved in the recesses of my dresser; where it's staying for good! Or until I can afford major plastic surgery!:7 ;) You just go on and enjoy your day without Eoin. He'll wait for you.

Jeanette: Yes, I did buy a cyclometer. But, I can't figure out how the dang thing works. I better dig out the papers that go with it or swallow my pride and ask the guys at the shop to teach me how to use it. I'm sure your hair looks better than good. I can't wait to get my roots colored. The gray starts appearing way too soon for my liking! Well, I guess that settles it. I'll try to get my mom to ship me some peppers for the retreat. I'm all out of peppers to make my favorite dish. I could try pulling some strings and ask the local owner if she could have her cooks make some for me to take to the retreat.

Well ladies, I'm off to add some tomatoes and greens to my Hearty Tuscan Bean Stew. I used most of my chicken stock in it.:9 I figured I'd make it tonight so it would have a little time to thicken for tomorrow's dinner. I plan on making the turkey meatballs to go with it too. I'll let you all know the verdict.

Hi to everyone MIA.

Sweet dreams to all!
Wendy

Hi ladies,
Didn't get the bike ride in today. It started raining and was windy so no cardio at all today. I'm hoping tomorrow is better weather wise. Just got back from the grocery store with DH. I am making a ground beef casserole with refrigerated dough on top. Green salad with tomatoes, green onions & avocados (for Grandma) and a layered pudding dessert for my sister's birthday. Will just be a small group over there as her birthday was yesterday and she had a small party with her family.

Laurie, bet the cupcakes were really cute. Your DD is quite a good runner. I was on the track team during my junior college years. I was so fast they said, "here, take this javelin over to that field and practice". I think beating your time by 20 seconds is great! Yep, the kids don't cut us any slack. I had a race a few years ago on the bikes with my DS who said he could whip me. He got beat badly and was hurting so much! Of course, he was on a mtn. bike and I was on my road bike. Still, I think he had a little more respect and never talked trash again to me about it LOL! I totally understand about not wanting to hit the ground with the club. Just not natural, but oh so necessary in golf. DH is always commenting about the big divots that the pros take out of the grass with each swing.

Sandra, that Cardio Kicks must be a good one. So many say that one lifts their mood. I'm really not self-conscious about others seeing me and my lack of "ripped-ness" at the retreat. It is what it is.... I've been needing to have more acceptance with my body and am getting closer. Now the gray hair, not accepting of that at this point. MMMMMmmmmmm, pie. I like everything. My sister makes fantastic chocolate pies. Not much you can go wrong with, except maybe mincemeat. Are you going to the household that had the lice?

Nicole, glad DH had a good birthday. Don't work too hard now. What color are you painting your room?

Debra, so glad you made it to Charleston okay. Oh the dinner and cocktails sound wonderful. Have a strong one for me! Bet you are having a blast.

Wendy, you have been cooking up a storm! I usually don't cook much, but am enjoying cooking for Mom and Dad. They really get a kick out of someone else bringing them a meal. My Dad really thanks us for doing this every time we come over. Oooooh, so you're going to make something spicy for me at the retreat? Will it be a Thai dish? I need to be enlightened I'm sure. Hope you enjoy your heated yoga. Please be nice to Phil. I couldn't get my DH in a pair of baggy cycling shorts, let alone to step foot on a yoga mat. He's got too much baggage I say. I want to tell him to just let it gooooo.

Will work out tomorrow morning, probably a circuit of some kind. Bike ride hopefully in the afternoon, then legs on Friday morning.

Night all,

Jeanette
