Xers: Late Start Friday

Lord...look at the time!! Where did my day go?? I felt so productive this morning...and I was actually productive all day....but I am just now getting back to say hello and goodbye to you guys! I tried to take a little nap since we will be driving until around 11 or so tonight, but just couldn't relax enough to sleep. I ended up doing the CF all step premix....Pretty fun..and of course, kept my weak little heart rate up...LOL.

personals......

Traci....
As usual you are cracking me up! I think that most people are crazier than we really know. They may look normal and act normal part of the time, but sooner or later their craziness comes out. I don't know why half the people on these forums post the stuff they do. I know we say a lot in our little group, but it really wouldn't occur to me to ask for advice on my love life in the OD...But whatever! I so rarely go to OD now since it is usually filled with BS. But I agree that we are all perfect over here!!! Ooops...I forgot to order the X+ stuff...I will have to do that when I get back. LOL about CB not providing enough bliss...but did you see Laurie's post about her DH getting all kinds of ideas when he sees her in those poses?? I actually thought I might need some stretching out, which is why I am taking the dvd...LOL. Ice in TX...woohoo!! I will think of you while I am trodding around in the snow tomorrow. There is a Carolina basketball game that we want to catch tomorrow afternoon...and there is no cable in the cabin, but there is a little pub across the street, so I guess we will go there. CB is bummed that he is going to miss some of the playoffs on Sunday.....he said I would have to make it up to him somehow....silly man! Poor Wendell...he must look at you a lot and think, 'Hunh?' Thanks for the bday wishes...my word what a year this has been!

Laurie...
So sorry about the missing glasses...where could they have gone??? It sure is expensive to replace them, I know, I was just did that to the tune of over $700 for 2 pair and the exam....OUCH! I will let you guys know about the new dvds once I get going on them. My teacher has been great...and she is incredibly funny too....which certainly helps keep class interesting.

Sandra...
What size do you wear?? Maybe your boots will fit me...LOL! I doubt it...I actually have really tiny feet...I ended up buying a pair of boots from the kids section that were on sale for $18. They didn't have any of what I was looking for in the women's and the men's are too big for me. I am definitely NOT going to be backpacking...just a little hike to see some scenery. LOL about CB and Eoin...I thought that Eoin would do a good job of stretching me out, actually. For some reason I always end up in some strange position with CB...LOL! Since I am obviously too late to chime in on your late night question, I will just say that I am glad you have made a decision that you are satisfied with!

Swifty...
Waving as you fly by with an anatomy book in your hand, I am sure!

Carol...
Congrats on hitting the halfway mark...only 45 more days to go!!!!!

Teddygirl...
Have a fun weekend with Ted...and earning that extra money!

Jeanette...
I promise to try and be a good girl and do more leg workouts with you. I know how good they are...just don't like it....Do you think it would count to do floorwork all the time??? LOL I am betting that Tracy and Traci are going to give big nos to that one! I don't mind the floor work, though. Have fun with the Garage Boys in the morning...you surely feel your legs then!

Nicole.....
Get that man of yours to take you on a nice weekend trip for your 10th!!! You both deserve it! CB is romantic in ways that XDH never was...this kind of trip would not have appealed to XDH either. I am looking forward to jumping in that hot tub with a nice glass of wine! Glad you found some recipes that look appealing. It is hard to always fix healthy foods that you and the whole family will eat. I don't remember all of the dvds I got...Amy Bento, a Patrick Gideau (sp), another guy....and...um..I don't remember the 4th one...It was late when I ordered...LOL! But I ordered ones that had good reviews from customers...I know I looked at a few that I decided against because of negative reviews. I hope I am the teacher's pet...I need a good grade...LOL!!!

Tracy...
Hope you have something fun planned this weekend. I am sure that your walk will be cardio...you just have to walk fast...LOL! I am excited about my weekend away. The diva and I were really getting on each other's nerves yesterday. I told her to get off the phone...she was talking to a friend who had just been at our house for 4 hours...and she put up her hand and said, "I'm on the phone here!" I about lost my mind! It's good she is with my mom so I don't kill her this weekend!

Let's see.....Waving to Kim, Lea, Wendy, and Christiane. Hope you all have a great weekend. I need to take a shower and shave my legs...it wouldn't be too romantic with the fur I have now...and pack a cooler and I am ready to go!! I will miss you guys..be good this weekend...and I will see you all on Monday.

Hi all,

The walk is done and it took me longer than usual in the snow.

Laurie - I had missed your earlier comment about DH and the yoga poses. My DH made the same sorts of comments after he was using the eliptical one night and I was finishing up my yoga. Is that all men think of? I guess I'm just not neurologically wired that way. Unfortunately for DH, I don't think it's something I can get fixed.

Traci - I'm right there with you on some of the OD comments and discussions. Why even frequent the site if you don't like it? I personally think there are a lot of weird people out there, but nothing should get in the way of common decentsy and curtesy. I really think those are lost character traits, and it is very sad. I think I posted this before, but to me, it's like going to someone's house and then complaining about the entire visit.

Tracy

I'm cooling my jets waiting for CB to get here from work. Soooooo, I went ahead and ordered the X+ workouts!

Tracy...
LOL about your comment about going to someone's house and then complaining about it...You too funny!!

Bye all!

Spending my Friday evening cathing up with the group. I had a nice time on the field trip. I always find spending time with other kids is a great way to appreciate your own kids more. I would never have the patience to be a teacher I think half the boys must have ADD. LOL Got home and did Yoga X right away, made supper and now we all are enjoying a lazy evening.

Hope all the travellers Christiane, Wendy and Debra have safe and happy travels!

Debra- WTG on the presentation. It sounds like your enjoying this class. I love my prescription sunglasses I hope you like yours.

You asked me about the marathon. We have one marathon in the province. It's the Manitoba marathon and it's a huge event in the city. Last year there were 16,000 runners (in all the distances combined). I've gone the last few years and run but different distances only once the full marathon. They really have to do something about the crowds it's really getting out of hand for parking etc.

You know we Canadians are giggling about the snow panic. We visit Florida most winters (skipping this year though) and I guess down south the occasional snow comes and goes in a day so they often ask us if we're had snow. They don't realize that yes we have 5 feet of snow and it comes in October and stays for 6 months it doesn't come and go, it just comes and piles up. We also note the weight issues down south compared to the northern states and Canada, overall there seems to be more obesity down south.

Tracy- Oh goodness with the work issue Tracy. Is work always like this for you or is it going to settle down soon? I did YogaX today after doing SA yesterday and found the yoga hard because my arms were tired, hope you are able to get some yoga in. I'm sure that it would be a good stress reliever.

Lea I sure hope your back is feeling better soon!

Sandra- Glad that your elbow is feeling better. Sounds like you're doing really well with the P90X food plan I followed it for the first week and then fell off the wagon. I can never follow a program for my diet I've tried many times.

Carol I'm glad that you had fun bday shopping. Congrats to your son! I'm sure he's very excited. I love all Cathe's IMAXs, the time just seems to fly by.

Teddygirl- You seem to have gained some motivation back as I see some great exercise posts. Are you doing a doubles rotation? My family and I also enjoyed watching some of the Americain Idol, I like watching the tryouts but then lose interest.

TraciX- The FullBody x+ sounds really good the trainer's track seems like a great idea. It sounds like you're done some thinking aobut your fitness goals/plans. I'm sure that you know what will work for your body and are making a good decision. I liked your thoughts to Teddigirl on doubles in P90X, I'm considering starting doubles in Phase 2 what do you think? That's neat that DH is letting him train you, is he a regular exerciser? I would think it would be hard to train a family member.

Laurie As I replied to Debra above it's the Manitoba marathon which I'm training for. That's neat that your dd is interested in training. I'm pretty sure that for our marathon the minimum age is 16 for the full but I saw lots of young teens doing the half marathon last year. DS's school trains the grades 7 &8 to do the full marathon as a 5 person relay. What a pain to lose your glasses! Hopefully they still show up somewhere when you least expect them.

Is DH feeling better?

Nicole- That's kind of scary about the lurker. I had a scary email from someone a few years back when I was posting on a post baby weightloss forum and I posted a picture. The core synergistics sounds interesting I haven't previewed it yet. I guess I'll be doing it on the recovery week next week. WTG on upping weights!

I had a head gear when I was a kid, I wasn't sure if they still used them. My ds has an appliance he got a few months ago

Jeanette - I'm glad that you're back doing your weekly spin group, it sure sounds like something you enjoy.

Christiane That's great that your Dh has discovered stretching. My DH has done YogaX twice now (although I think he does fast forward though some of it) and I was totally surprised he even tried it. I think the stretching will be so great for him.

Have a great weekend! Kim

Good evening,
I'm here typing on my newest laptop. It came today so I've been loading some stuff up, transferring info from the other laptop to this one. Hope this one is okay. Had a great day at work today. Still cold out so my plan will be to not ride on Sunday and join the Garage Boys from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., then DH and I will head to Reno for a shopping trip. Sunday looks really cold so this way I'll get a good workout in. Got an email from my friend Rod (a Garage Boy) and it said: Saturday, 9 am, Bob's Garage, NO SLACKERS. I'll be there.

Debra, hope you are having the best time right now! Did you get some hiking boots yet? I remember having a pair of those hard kinds that everyone wore in the late 70's. They rubbed blisters on my heels so bad. I used to work in a sawmill as a cleanup girl before I met DH and those were the only boots I had. I used all kinds of bandaids on my heels until I finally toughened up. It was miserable. I'm sure you can learn the new step routines, just don't expect to get a heart thumping workout while you are learning it. I reserve learning a new routine for when I'm not in a hurry, Saturdays are preferable for me. I also don't uses risers when learning. Woohoo on the butt being smaller. Oh, I would love that so much. Maybe I'm not taking enough naps? LOL! Okay, we'll rededicate ourselves to working legs and maybe we will come to actually look forward to leg day. I even was sore today and I'm rarely sore from my leg workouts so guess I squatted lower than usual. Guess I took it out of the comfort zone for a change. Well, I love floor workouts and it hasn't done much for these thunder thighs.

Kim, glad you had a good time on the field trip. Yes, I too appreciate my kids. Kids just have so much less respect than when I was growing up. And it seems like it's getting worse with every generation. When is your marathon? Have you ever run in one before? Hat's off to anyone that does that. I think riding 100 miles doesn't compare to running a marathon at all, riding is easier.

Well ladies, must go now. A spinning I will go tomorrow. There actually is a Spinerval called "No Slackers". Wonder if we're doing that one.

Jeanette

Carol, way to go on the cardio capacity! How did DS's Kenpo class go? Was he a star? What kind of games do you play on game night? I like games like Pictionary and Charades and such. I don't have much patience for card games and board games.

Latrese, glad you got that promised workout in. Nice to feel the DOMS from yesterday's workout I'm sure.

Traci, thanks for the vote of confidence on my abilities. Your workout today sounded very satisfying for you. I took a little 10 minute walk today during a break and I was feeling the leg work from this morning. Guess I pushed a little harder than usual. Guess you won't be playing tennis this weekend with the golf, or running I assume. Poor Wendell will be held captive! Is he sore all over? I think that's a great idea for one of you girls to have an Xers leg challenge month. Great idea! Yes, the music and bike tires spinning will hide my moaning for sure. Count me in on the BAT, Moon River and wine. Divine!

Swifty, hi to you as you fly by! You must be staying very busy.

Laurie, glad you are enjoying Eoin. Most everyone does that tries him. Lorajc from the Hardcores is great for other recommendations if you want them. LOL re: your DH's ideas when he sees you doing yoga. Mine would be the same way. Usually when I'm working out, he's getting ready for work. They are soooo nasty, aren't they?

Sandra, you are really on a roll with your workouts! I'm so impressed with you! I will definitely try the 4DS Legs soon. From now on, I'm going to welcome working legs...I love working legs...I love working legs...I love working legs.

Nicole, DH and I are going to Costco tomorrow to stock up. Should be fun for DH as he hasn't been to a Costco in years and years. He'll be like a kid in a candy store. He loves going to Grocery Outlet and finding all these bargains. Now the one bargain that was awful was some kind of seasoned collard greens in a can. I can see why they were 25 cent each. Gag!! It would be nice to have more of the city comforts and stores up here, but one good thing is we have zero traffic problems. Whenever I've gone to Sacramento for training and am sitting in traffic, I'm so thankful that it takes me 10 minutes to drive home from work and do what I want to do. I know DH is itching to get to that new Cabela's. I hope it's not too crowded. I hate crowded stores.

Tracy, thank you for the advice for legs. Just going to take hard work and some planning when cycling season hits. But now is the perfect time to work them harder. So sorry about your dog not doing so well. It's just such a heartbreak. Our's are such family members. I don't think the walking gets my heart rate up very well, but it sure clears my head.
