OMG Laurie, that Renaissance Faire is worth being in just to get to wear the costumes!! I love them! Your family all look beautiful and dashingly handsome. Are they comfortable in the summer temperatures?
Okay, I'm officially a Shiva Rea convert!! OMG that was enjoyable!!! Not nearly as intense as I thought it was going to feel. Tony's the only yogi I've ever seen who puts push ups in his vinyasas, and they certainly increase the intensity of them. To be frank, I quite miss the pump in my shoulders and arms that they give me. I guess next time I can just add them in. I didn't miss much else about YogaX, though! This was wonderful, wonderful. There are some moves that I couldn't quite get all the way, but I was close enough that I feel motivated to keep practicing. I'm actually surprised at how flexible and strong I've become. I really enjoyed the handstands, and can do them easily enough against a wall, but have the most trouble with the standing arm balances where you're expected to give yourself a piggy-back. They're like crane, but harder (!). And the music to Warrior Dance 4 is out of this world. I LOVE that music! How unique! I'm thinking I might be making a couple of cd purchases in the next little bit. Shiva's cuing and commentary were great; no complaints. She didn't seem to get her sides mixed up, or miss a cue. She didn't get overly excited at any point (ahem, Tony!). I was able to follow along quite well for my first time through. I will be doing some of this dvd at least once a week, and also some static stretching along the lines of XStretch. In this workout, anyway, Shiva never held any pose for very long, and I miss the release you get when you hold a pose and really breathe into it. So, I will need to complement with some deep static stretching.
TraciX - "decided to clean out the bathroom cabinets"?? What's that about??? No one just "decides" to do that!! Why are you so reluctant about starting your workout today? It sounds like a good one! You're just waiting for Lea, I suppose. Your screen name is your ADDRESS?! That's a scream! I would never have thought of that. It occurred to me at one point to wonder if there were 16409 other Teddy's registered on Cathe.com, but I doubted it. They'd all be a giant pool of lurkers, wouldn't they? FiddleFit just comes from the expression "fit as a fiddle." I wanted something that sounded fun, rolled off the tongue, and had an exercise reference. No, I don't play the violin! (I do, however, play the piano). Thank you for the meditation information. Does it always have to reference a higher power? I'm a "humanist", meaning that I believe in individual strength. I want to tap into my own inner strength, if you know what I mean?
Jeanette - TERRIFIC idea about putting the manual in a binder. I'll do the same! And if TraciX finds those scanned worksheets, maybe she'll send them to me.....(pretty please, Traci? <eyelashes batting>). Then I'll have a nice, tidy workbook again

Another power outage?? What's going on? Storms? My next P90X rotation will be very modified, too. I'll stick with the upper body weights as written, but change up the rest a lot. I personally did not see a significant physical transformation from sticking with the plan, so I feel better about making my own decisions from now on.
LeaX - Yes, you must check out Shiva! If I recall, you are a yogi from way back, right? You'll probably love this! A beer gut on YOU, Girlfriend?! PUUUULEEEASEE! :7 We've all seen your avatar! A drop of beer wouldn't DARE hang around on your fine middle! I look forward to ordering the tank! It's a definite must-have for P90X round two.
Cheers,
Sandra
