Happy July 4th Xers!
Our Canadian Xers can take ANOTHER holiday to help us celebrate!

DH home today….. Rain expected noon til 9pm…. Hopefully our end of the city will be spared just a bit! No plans at all today except some napping…. I got DH some of his fav foods to cook up knowing that this week of “cycle” isn’t a big carb craving week for me so I should be fine with passing all that up.

I took yesterday as a total rest day- I was due but also I felt my cycle day 24 taking its toll…. The next 3 days are usually when I crash.

I haven’t felt any strength gains this week although I have upped all my weights… I think I’ll do an upper SuperSets mix of some sort today – maybe I just need to shake things up a bit…. I want a little cardio so I’ll see what I feel like after SS.

Back with personals in a bit!

I’m Back and must say that the blog reading has me all excited this morning! Is it possible Cathe may someday carry a line of workout wear that she has created?!?! I think Wendy must be having dreams of Cathe doing a reality TV show soon too! What could it be called…. BUFF, BOLD & BEAUTIFUL perhaps?????

Anyway – I digress once again so back to personals from yesterday!

TeddyGirl. Latrese, Anointed……. YOO HOOOOOOO

Jeanette X
I’m amazed how quickly your toe is healing… You are a trooper to attempt to do anything at all so soon! I agree with another Xer who said – “Good reason for day off!”
I had to LOL at you telling Wendy you have never done doubles…. My dear- that’s because A) you never missed your planned Tony workout and B) you do doubles everyday you ride! LOLOLOL

Cheryl
What a night you had on Monday! Congrats for just doing what you needed to and not procrastinating. I hope you bought yourself a fancy new hi tech puter to do the job! You and your team deserve it! Hoes Donny’s brother doing? I still laugh about the famous working for our Cheryl! Do you really think that we could lose that last 6- 8#s in one month? My body has operated on SLOW MO for wt loss for so long that I may have set my bar too low. I am eating clean- doing a bit of cardio daily + wts + yoga in PM so maybe I can shoot for a 5# loss. Oh that would be GLORIOUS!

Debra X
Well good thing you didn’t put me in charge of YOUR laundry too yesterday or we’d both be in sorry shape! Its still here waiting for me to get started… What an exciting holiday I’ll have!

Sandra X
WOW you are super busy this summer…. I imagine if I lived in a colder climate my schedule would change dramatically with the seasons… Living in warmth 9-10 months a year helps my lifestyle stay a bit more consistent. We enjoy whatever posts you have time to post!

Wendy
I see we took a rest together!!!! Day 25 of cycle today woman…. I feel like a slug but 1 day off is enough rest for me- I’m going to suck it up early today! LOL on DS signing up…. I think you could have had ALL your Xer pals tell you that a week ago….. NO-ONE goes to military to “just look”…. LOLOLOL
Hugs to all and whatever he decides I will hold positive warm fuzzy’s for all.
Hope you get to steal a few minutes of puter time!

Nicole
Congrats on cranking out yet one more Plyo! I LOVED that one when I started it each week but dread factor to push play was always there… I think its because it took every ounce of energy I had each time. LOL on Yoga & Changes…. I actually haven’t been doing it very consistently at all except the past several days! I think Yoga is like Pilates- if you want to see real changes you have to do it several (if not all) days per week. I’ll let you know if I develop a muscular body like Tracy X at end of July! I do notice that my posture is much better already tho…I also may be sleeping deeper (not longer mind you!) .

Amy
I always picture you with a sleep cap on giving a big ole stretch and coming out of your cave – on your first real day off! Is it like a mini hibernation? Hope this week is a great one for you! Are you still spending a lot of time on t-nation?

Laurie X
BIG BIG Plans today I’m sure! Happy & safe 4th!!!

Tracy X
Hope things are tolerable on the home front today… I so don’t envy family stress times- I don’t deal well when DH & I aren’t behaving like a team… You are constantly in my heart. …… I have a question that I can’t seem to find anything but garble info on & thought you might know……I REALLY don’t want to focus on scale weight but rather BF%. My ultimate goal is 16%. BF% tho (I think) has to go somewhat in line with scale weight right? I mean at some point it ALL cant be muscle…. So if I am not at the end range of a healthy weight/BMI is it safe to assume that the scale weight must go lower WHILE I am losing BF. I hope that isn’t too terribly confusing.

Happy 4th to all Xers & your families…. Back when I can sneak away….

Good Morning, Gang!!

Just a quick checkin before I have to run.....literally!! I signed up for a 5K for the local Ronald McDonald House this morning.

Traci- yes, I'm hanging out learning a TON on t-nation. I hope that you have a great workout! My hammies and glutes are screaming this morning!!!}(

BBL!!!!

AMY- THATS AWESOME about your 5K!!!!!! Go AMY GO!!!!!!!!!

Well let me share a little about my CC3/Bike experience this morning... Good thing I LIKE adventure............

FIRST: The golf path looked dry so I decided to venture out with Sean.....

My entire ride was over my zone .... OK- 3 minutes in zone... Those hills (aka: slopes) on the path just about KILLED ME! I had to actually walk my bike up 2 of them as I was going backwards! ......

Our course has these awesome LONG tunnels...... awesome EXCEPT that because of all the rain they are completely flooded and filled with SLIME x( and .................................................. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......RATS........!!!!!!!!!!!!
No taking it slow thru those!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then the tires were slippery so I had to WALK the bike UP the hills too at end of all the tunnels!!!!!!!!

Lets talk bunnies instead of rats.....:7

Must have been 30 today.... When I run the course (which I must say is MUCH easier than this bike stuff) the bunnies scurry.... Today they seemed to want to play "chicken" with me so I tested my brake strength ALOT!

Since my HR was so high the entire ride (sorry Coach Sean);-) I decided to ride my neighborhood streets to cooldown... What did I see at 7am???????
.
.
.
A PEEPING TOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was so engrossed in whatever he was peeping at thru a small hole in a backyard fence that he never heard me until I was right up on him! He quickly jumped back & went on with his "walk"! I was FREAKED OUT:eek: :p :p :p .... if he had been peeking thru MY back fence he would have seen me walking around either naked (headed to laundry room) OR in just a tank and panties...... !!!!!!! GROSS GROSS GROSS .... I shall never again walk around my house without clothes!!!!!!!! :( :( :(

ROFL:+ :+ :+ :+ What an adventure Coach & I had this morning!

Biggest lesson I learned (OK- had validated) CROSS TRAINING IS CRITICAL!! I can run for 2 hours on those paths with Sean but 40 minutes on the same path but with the bike is like another universe....

Gotta go re-work my rotation now as I need a bit more cardio variety I do believe!

:7  :p :p :p

Hi all,

Thanks so much for the thoughts about the situation with FIL. It sounds like many of you have been through similar situations and I really appreciate your insight. There are so many things to cope with on so many levels, it is just almost overwhelming, but I’m sure we will get through it.

Yesterday I did BM1 and BM2 upper body only doing each body part back to back, so chest/chest, back/back, etc. I was exhausted when I started and couldn’t wait to get finished. For doing more of an endurance type workout, my weights were pretty good. I’ve strained the muscle that runs on the top of my arm from the elbow to the wrist. Then I did magically hips, which felt good. My flexibility is really improving. If you concentrate on springing back into the plank from the sitting position, that really works the core.

Traci – I am not an expert about the weight/ body fat ratio either, but I really feel that muscle is very hard to put on. I don’t think that the rate of fat loss equals the rate of muscle gain and therefore I think that you will have to drop some weight in order to decrease the body fat. After I hurt my back and couldn’t work legs for about a month, I felt that I really got a true measure of what my legs looked like, and they were small. What I thought was muscle, and remember I was lifting really heavy, must have been water retention, because there is no way I lost substantial amounts of muscle in even two weeks time. JMO. Are you familiar with what Shiva calls the 4 directions of the lunge? That has really made a difference in my yoga. In the lunge, you drop down with the bent leg, pull up with the rear leg, while simultaneously pulling forwards with the torso, and backwards with the rear leg. You are basically radiating in all directions. That really increases the effectiveness of the lunge. I have the two Baron’s that you bought. And yes, cross training is critical and adding the biking will probably help you to drop some BF. It is a tremendous calorie burn. I read yesterday 1 hr at 12 mph burns around 500 cal. I’ve read similar info on other sources. I guess you found that out today……….I’ve been telling you to get on that bike!

Wendy – If DS can get the education that he wants, it sure would save a lot of money. How long would he have to commit to?

Amy – Glad you caught up on your sleep. I really don’t function well on little sleep. Your job is so demanding, but I bet you have a way to go into work mode and be your best even when you are tired.

Nicole – Do most people in your area have AC? I know when we go out west; lots of places don’t have AC. We can’t do without it here. It is so humid it is just miserable without AC. The car AC was broke during a 95 degree spell and I was dying at 3pm on my way home from work. It will make your electric bill go up, but it is worth the comfort, especially at night.

Debra – I finally got to see the pictures, they are great! I’m sure you look really snazzy in all of your shoes Do you have matching outfits for each pair? My Mom has a fetish for handbags; I bet she has 100+.

Cheryl – Sorry about the computer mishap. Didn’t you have the data backed up? I made that huge mistake once. I’m trying to be more cognizant of it. The motor board got fried in the computer and I had to spend $800 to get it fixed. The data was on the hard drive and it would have cost close to $500 to retrieve and send it to a new computer. I use Quickbooks for my husband’s business. It’s a great program.

Jeanette – Hope you have a good time camping. Do you think you’ll loose the toe nail or was it far enough away?

Laurie – I’d love to see some pictures of the beading that you are doing. I get in the mood every so often to crochet something, but that is the extent of my sewing.

Sandra – You are busy; sounds like you are enjoying your time with the kids and still getting your workouts in.

Tracy

Morning Xers,

Doubles: Ph3/Wk13/Day3/Rnd2
Workout: Tracey Staehle Cardio Sweatfest Premix (probably the punching drills)

Happy 4th! I don't have much time, because I have to get to the grocery store. We had a well needed rain her last night, so everything is soggy. But the sun is out, and should be good for our party this afternoon. And of course the fireworks tonight. :D

Tracy, I will try to get a "good" picture of the beading. Sometimes those things don't show up that well on a picture. :)

Debra, We had a dog for 14 years, and she passed away about 5 years ago. The girls have really been asking about getting another dog, and my DH finally said yes. :D Both DH and I didn't want a puppy, and Jada was approved by all members of the family. Now they can't wait to meet her. :D

Traci, I was excited to see the blog too. I can't wait to see what the clothes look like. I am very happy for Cathe, that she would be able to branch out into clothing also. OH! What a bike ride you and Sean had. :D :D What a pervert! Now I will have to think twice about the nakedness of myself in my house too. :D :D

Nicol, Yep Deters teeth where pretty big, I thought it was just because I was working out with our HDTV. :D And he also has the baggy pants like Jeanette remembers.

Jeanette, Hope your toes is doing ok after your workout yesterday. I would have my foot on a pillow, and taking it easy for a while.

Amy, Glad you where able to get some needed rest. :) Good luck on your 5K.

Wendy, Here is a well wish for you DS and his test. My sister was in the medical portion of the Army when she was in the service. She was a Pharmacist.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Hey, gang!!

Well, I'm back from the 5K. I actually did pretty good considering that I haven't ran for several months!! I think that it's interesting that I have never lost the ability to jog 3 miles, no matter how long it is between attempts! I was left in the dust by a co-worker, but I caught up with her sister and she and I finished together. I guess that I'm of the "tortoise" school.....slow and steady gets you to the finish line! I also went back and picked up another friend who is just starting to walk, exercise, and try to lose weight. She said that her goal was not to be the last to finish and she wasn't! I told her that now she can do ANYTHING because she was so sure that she wasn't going to finish and she did, she unlocked a mental barrier!!!

Laurie- I forgot to tell you that Jada is beautiful!!! I really hope that she's a good fit when you meet her!

Traci- WOW, you and Sean had quite an adventure! LOL about the peeping tom! That is a little scary, but I figure that since we keep the blinds closed at our house (keeps it cooler) that any really wouldn't see much! EEEEEWWWWWW Rats!!! Yuck!x( I like the bunnies much better! No bunnies on my run this morning, but there was a HUGE dog the size of a small horse there!

Oh, I can't wait to see the clothes that Cathe designed!

Phase 3/ Week 11/ Day 3/ Round 1

S&A+ARX

Hi all,

Nice HOT day again today. It's supposed to be over 100 so I hope DH can get my small window AC in until they install the central air. I love S&A so I'll be ready for it. DS's are still snoozin' so I have to wait until they get up. Hope you all have a great 4th!

Traci-X, So glad you took a rest day:) I hope you get what you want out of your workout today. Maybe you could relay to me what rain looks like, I forget:) With this heat though I don't think I'd like the added humidity. I saw the blog about the new workout wear and I'm so excited. I love when she starts blogging:) I'll keep the yoga thoughts in mind for the next rotation:):) Peeping Tom! Oh, no!!! I would be in big trouble just laying out:):pLOL!

Tracy, I'm glad to see you are coping with the FIL situation. I'll keep you in my prayers. Sounds like you had a tough workout yesterday. I keep hearing everyone talk about Shiva. I think I might have to add that one to the list too:) Oh, great, I'll be taking out a second on my house!LOL! It's about 70/30 on people with AC here. It's been getting progressively hotter each year so that might switch. I am so excited though. They make such energy efficient ones now that I am not too worried:)

Laurie, Have a great 4th! Sounds like perfect weather for fireworks! I wish we could have them here, but unfortunately they are illegal:( Leave it to good ol' CA to ruin all the fun stuff:) Only 3 more days:):) What are you going to do when you're done? Did you get the cute dog?

SandraX, Hi, we miss you! Hope you are having a great time with the girls:)

Cheryl, Enjoying the holiday with you're family or smacking a computer?

Wendy, Good for your DS. I hope he gets the postion he wants. Such great opportunities are available in the military. Let us know how he does on the test!

Jeanette, Hope you and DH are out on the Rhino relaxing and avoiding more toe incidents:) Are you BBQing with the family today? Can you all have fireworks up there? I didn't know if it was a CA thing or a SDiego thing. Have a nice day.

Hope you all have a relaxing fun-filled day,

Nicole

Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness.

Hi, everyone!

Couldn't resist checking in! Traci, WOW on all the biking adventures and the peeping Tom - EWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!! Yuck, glad you know he's around. Yes, I think 5# weight loss this month is probably more realistic.

I am feeling better about the fit of my clothes but my scale weight is still up there, darn it!!! I want to keep adding that muscle, though, much as I can.

This morning was GS Legs. I want to add on some cardio but am taking a little rest inbetween to catch up with all of my friends. Love that GS legs! Kills every time!

Amy, so glad you had a good experience at the 5K. Congrats on finishing well! It sounds like you had a great time. I'm so glad.
Can't wait to see you in person, roomie. 5 1/2 more weeks!!!!

Nicole, sounds like a good tough workout today.

Tracy, hope you are recovering from yesterday's tough workout. Enjoy your rest, if you take some.

Jeanette, hope you are having a good day. Yes, no more toe incidents!!!

Wendy, sending good vibes for DS.

Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!!

xoxoxo!

Happy 4th of July!!!

The forecast is isolated thunderstorms. Not good for the fireworks tonight or Phil currently in his handmade trench digging for the elusive pipe break. Well, if it rains, I can go outside in my bikini with a bar of soap!:7 Excuse me while I sing in the shower, "Always look on the bright side of life. Ta-da, ta da da da daaa..." :)

I love Eion! How SWEET is he! So encouraging! So gentle! So funny! So HANDS OFF respectful! Yep, he's a keeper! :)

Today calls for CS. I'll have to double check my book. ;-) I miss CS. I love how it works my spine and lower back muscles located somewhere under layers of fat!

Thanks everyone for your encouraging thoughts and words for my ds. The online tests are humbling. He said that they are more involved than the practice test at the recruiters.

But, guess what I just found out!!!! Phil was steps away from joining the Army when he was 18 and going to Pensacola Beach (Amy ;-)) for basic training. Just think! Our paths could have crossed many years earlier! I was living 30 minutes down the road at that time. He could have saved me from marrying my ex! LOL Anyhow, when he took the test, he only missed TWO questions! I never knew how stupid my dh was!!! Stupid? you ask? Well, with those scores, he could have chosen ANY job! Yet, he was going to choose photography!!!! I can hear you... "But, Wendy, photographers are not stupid. It's a well respected job, especially for weddings and babies and..." Okay that's fair. Maybe stupid is the wrong word. However, in all my years married to this man, he has NEVER once taken a picture! He hates taking pictures! I'm the stereotypical Asian capturing Kodak moments at ALL the family functions! The only reason he chose that job was because he thought it was going to be a cushy job!!!! :7 What did he know? He was only 18 at the time with little ambition! :7 Yet, I still love him passionately! Especially now that I have added ammunition for relentlessly teasing him!}( }( }(

Gotta open another window for personals while ds takes his computer break.

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Traci-X: I'll cycle back to being in sync with you and everyone on this check-in! Apparently, my body likes to spread the Sister Love with my 24+- day cycle. :D Take it easy these next few days. They are always the worst for me too. I know I pumped out a double the day prior to Aunt Flo's arrival. However, all I did the next day was sleep and eat. THE BLOG! Yes!!! I'm more excited about the possibility of a limited edition clothing line!!!!!:D :D :D I'm such a girl! You called it! Back in my mind, I figured he would sign up! Heck! If it wasn't for me, he'd already be in boot camp signed up for as a nuclear/chemical researcher. Oh! Yeah! He came home from visiting one of the local units telling me all about it. Then I made him talk to Col. Kilner from West Point about it. Once he heard that he'd have to dawn a gas mask and rubber suit for the rest of his military life, he quickly changed his mind!!!! I guess my fashion sense rubbed off on him! LOL :7 OH! MY! WORD! A peeping tom!!! Ewwww! I stopped walking around naked after someone broke into my house. It was New Year's Eve 2003. All the kids were at their respective grandparents. Phil went to get me DDcoffee. I was in the upstairs bathtub. I heard a noise and thought it was the phone. So, I stop the water and the didn't hear the phone. I went downstairs in the buff to get the phone in case they called back. Before I turned the water back on, I heard footsteps on my dining room wood floors. I thought it was strange since I didn't hear the car pull up. So, I start shouting Phil's name. Nothing! Next thing I hear is a car, presumably Phil, pulling up our driveway. Then I KNEW it wasn't Phil walking around my house. So, I start SCREAMING that I was going to call the police and dialed 911. The person heard the car and saw the headlights from the back door. So, he/she? went out the front door. I could hear the door open and close. Well, the police were at my house in less than 2 minutes! (We live on the same road as the police station.) I get so angry thinking about what Phil was doing while I was in danger!!! He was sitting in the car listening to the football game on the radio!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, when the police pulled up, they were focusing on Phil while the intruder escaped through the front door!!!! I've never quite forgiven Phil. Anyhow, my purse was still sitting untouched on my dining room table in plain view. I have no idea what the intruder wanted or if he saw me naked when I went to get the phone. I didn't care if he saw me naked. (I was skinny then. lol) I was pissed that he was in my house!!! I don't take showers or baths while alone in the house anymore. :) Deep breath! Anyhoo.... Loved your CC experience! I LOL while squirming about the rats! EWWWW! The bunnies testing your brakes reminds me of when my best friend and I biked a forest trail in NW PA. Only it was the deer who played chicken with us!

Tracy-X: Check you out! Your workout looked tough! I agree about springing back into plank. Eion and the "red thong in white pants" lady make it look so easy and graceful! Maybe, a thong almost fully visible from the top of Lululemon pants would add grace to my spring! LOLOLOL }( From my understanding it's a lifetime of duty. They can call him up anytime. That's what our West Point professor friend told me. As far as what the recruiter told me, I recall four years. I could be wrong. I'll have to ask ds.

Amy: You are such a lovely lady! Run! Amy! Run! :) When is the 5K scheduled? Today? Oh! I see it WAS today!! Wow that's impressive! You should consider coaching. You are very sweet and motivating! So glad to have you on this check-in!!!

Nicole-X: Did I miss something? I have to go back and read all of yesterday's personals. I take it that you have no AC? Aren't you in CA? Get thee an AC!!! We've only needed our AC two days this year. Which is good considering electricity isn't cheap and my fetish for retail therapy. ;-)

Swift Amy: Hope you are having a festive 4th!

Laurie-X: Jada is precious! We adopted Baby from the pound last Nov. She was 6 years old. I can't believe her previous owners got rid of her because she didn't get along with their new puppy! It angers me that they did that to her!! She was at the pound on a cold concrete floor and NO ONE showed any interest in her until we came MONTHS later. She had the BEST personality of ALL the other dogs there!!! She has proved to be a well behaved dog with moments of uncontrolled joy! ;-) I have no doubt that Jada will be loved and cherished by your family! Eldest ds is trying to see if his chemistry scores will allow him to pursue a pharmacy position. He's studying his chemistry book right now. I hope your beading pictures turn out clear. I'd love to see your handiwork too!

Cheryl: Like a homeowner, you can't call the landlord whenever something breaks huh? I have so much respect for you running your own company and being a single mom AND diligently working out! Amazing that you find the time to check-in.

Sandra-X: I haven't read all of yesterday's personals. I take it that you're busy as a bee these days. I'm positive that you are getting everything on your to-do list accomplished.

Debra-X: Glad you are getting nicely settled into your new home. I was thinking about you yesterday while reading "A Southern Belle Primer". I'm officially NOT a Southern Belle. I don't have the silver for it, nor would I chose such gaudy patterns!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a simple, tacky-tacky, Northerner with no ambition to join the Junior League or have my dds become royalty of some local parade or contest! I can live happy with that "cute" thought! ;-) Not that being a Southern Belle is a bad thing. ;-) ;-)

Well, I've monopolized the computer long enough. Ds has taken a test in the middle of my typing. I better post before he accidentally loses my post.

Ballistic HUGS to ALL!!!!
Wendy

Hi all,
Didn't get back on the computer last night. We watched Deja Vu (Netflix). I did do Cardio Coach #5 on my bike and AGAIN loved it! That's the 2nd time I've done that one and it's a good one with the 4 minute Level 3 hill climbs at the start. I headed out to the prison on my bike because I knew there wouldn't be any 4th of July traffic (and there wasn't, probably only 10 cars that went by me in an hour). Great workout!!!

This morning's workout was Jari Love's Slim & Lean. That shoulder work is a burner for me and the biceps are good too. I did static lunge work as my toe doesn't like to be bent much (back foot on the lunges). The bike ride didn't bother it at all as my shoes are pretty stiff and don't allow bending (supposed to be that way).

Today, DH is hanging the cement board for the tile, which I hope to start putting up a week from this Saturday. I'm house cleaning and kind of helping him when he needs it. I also finished the weed eating before it got too hot outside. We hope to go out to the woods later on this afternoon and relax some. Near a creek would be nice, and preferably in the shade.

I'll be back later for personals, I'm behind on that! Got to finish dusting, mopping and the moral support for DH. He's off on a beer run right now... (for him, not me).

Jeanette

Happy 4th of July!!!! I hope you're all having a grand day!

Whew. I've got about 15 mins, so I'll do my best. I certainly won't forget the rest of you, but if I don't join in on some discussions, it's only because I can't read and type fast enough.

This morning I did Step, Jump & Pump. Last night I did 20 mins of Yoga Shakti before bed. It's hard not to do longer yoga sessions, they feel so good, but I just don't have the time right now. So some is better than none, I figure.

TracyX - I read about your FIL situation. What a terrible spot you guys are in. :( :( :( What have you decided? Will he be living with you? Is there no kind of in-home nursing care that can help out?

TraciX - I think we're on the same day of our cycles. Or close. For me that means Power-mode, and so far, so good. I'm definitely feeling challenged this week, but this is probably the best week for me to do that. I just don't get the post-workout fatigue and muscle tiredness that I do at other times of the month. I wonder why I'm so different from the rest of you? SS has a great set of premixes that work well together, if you do them in the same week. I'll take a look at my notes and tell you more about them later. Cathe knew what she was doing when she put the BB premixes together.

JeanetteX - The workouts for the Feb 07 rotation range from 45 mins to 70 mins (70 mins for the total workouts like SJP, LM, etc.). She has the BodyMaxes in there one time each, so that's 2 90 min workouts. Otherwise, it's pretty time efficient. I've been adding stuff on to the shorter workouts, just 'cause I've got the time. Tomorrow's only supposed to be a 45 min interval run, but I'm going to do CM#3 as well.

Hm. DD just woke up from her nap. I'm going to post this now so I don't lose it, then come back for the rest once I get her up.

Back in a bit,
SandraX

Hi all, I'm back again.

DH mostly finished his part of the wall, but then ran out of materials and with 4th of July, well nothing's open. I'll pick up some more hardy backer and some taping mud tomorrow after work. He's out starting the hibachi for some brats and after that, I think we will go out to the woods. The "girls" think we are going and they keep reminding us that they want to go in the Jeep. You just about have to spell around them because they know certain words and get VERY excited if you say them.

Laurie, Jada sounds perfect! Bet you are all excited about getting her. Oooo, how was the orange fluff? Love that salad! The volleyball sounds like it's going well for your team. Half the games is not bad. I always loved the teamwork of volleyball so much. Makes me want to play when I listen to you, but bet this short white girl still can't jump LOL! The toe is still sore, tried running after our dog today and that wasn't going to happen. It'll take some time. Also, I've been walking differently on it so of course soreness shows up in other areas. The purpleness and swelling is leaving so that's good. Heck, it's only been a few days so guess I'm doing okay. Do you like the Tracey Staehle Sweatfest? Is it something I should have? I like her HISM DVD, actually I really, really like it. Need to get it out soon when my toe allows for a little impact. My DH is much more modest than I am. Shoot, we can be way out in the boonies and when I drop my drawers to go pee, he anxiously looks around or points out a tree I can go behind. Heck we're 40 miles from civilization, who the heck can see?

Cheryl, what kind of a business do you have? Sorry about the computer problems. Totally Hot Step is fun. I also received her new Cardio Core conditioning DVD. Only previewed a little bit of it. Previewing makes me fall asleep for some reason. I'm with you on the cleaner eating. Glad your clothes are fitting better. Eating less carbs definitely works for me. I really look forward to my yummmy bowl of oatmeal each morning. The other carbs I have are lots of veggies.

Debra, my mtn. bike is blue and my road bike is too. Hopefully, you'll get some riding in in a couple of weeks. Mornings are nice, while it's cool outside. I loved Cardio Coach #5 on the bike last night. That Sean is something else.

Nicole, it's not me being the oldest in the group, it's me being the youngest. The rest of them are all retired (except me), but they are pretty darned good riders. One guy has bad knees from running for years so he goes slower on the hills, but does well otherwise. I'm sure this is the same heat wave you are getting. Hope it doesn't last more than a few days. DH wants to turn on the swamp cooler in the house. I always hate that first time as it's so stinky. Think they have these little tablets you can drop into the water to neutralize the smell. Must pick some up tomorrow. Deters must be the same guy that I saw with the baggy pants. Come to think of it, he had some big teeth going on too. Cathe's July rotation sounds good and yes, I could tack on a little more afterwards. Why do I not think of those things? Dense I guess. Enjoy your holiday! Awesome that you will have AC for your house. Nothing more miserable than a hot house and not being able to sleep. I get cranky when I'm too hot. No BBQ today, but we will be leaving on Friday for 6 days of camping way up above the mtns above Chico, CA. They are selling fireworks in town, but they can only be used in the town of Susanville, not in the county where we live. Things are soooooo dry here.

Amy, is Jellibean a cat or a dog or other? Hope he is doing okay now. Glad you got caught up on the sleep. Way to go on your run!!! I love being around other athletes in a competition or ride or run. So good that your friend got past the mental barrier!!! The mental factor really plays a part in so many activities and competitions.

Wendy, dang it about another sewer line break!! Does Phil ever want to just throw his hands in the air in exasperation? My nephew went into the Marines and has been out for a couple of years now. He was a machine gunner and didn't try to get any kind of vocational training at all. He was very disillusioned by the Marines, but then again, it could have been him too. So scary, the incident in the shower. I sometimes scare myself and wonder if someone is in the house while I'm in the shower, but our dogs would no doubt be barking their heads off, or rather Tillie would, Lexxie would just show the bad guy the way back to the shower.

Traci, is it raining right now? Wish we had some here. I'm pretty excited about Cathe's new workout clothes too. I never had the mindset to even consider doing 2 P90X workouts in a day at all, let alone the strength. I sure don't consider myself a "doubler" at all. Oh my gosh, Cardio Coach #5 was WONDERFUL!!! I really need to start doing these more regularly on the bike. I've just had too many events, competitions, vacations so then I start saving myself instead of still training. I set my goal for 3# for this month. I'm already down 2#, but I think I'm dehydrated from Cardio Coach out in the heat yesterday. Was at 119.4 this morning but know that's probably not a true # and will bounce back up to 121. I'd sure like to be a true 119 by the end of the month. Eating less carbs definitely works better for me. Re: BF%, if those stats of the ladies in the Fitness magazines are true, they have low body fat AND low body weight. I'm doing better by only weighing myself once a week instead of every day. I tend to sabotage myself if I see a good # on the scale. Not too smart of me. What an adventure with your CC#3 today!!! Heck, that would be an awesome mp3 session you could narrate, we could all picture ourselves going into a dark, slimey tunnel, sprinting away from rats and crawling up hillsides with our bikes. Those are the rides you remember for sure!!! Peeping Tom!!! Yuk!!! What is it with guys anyway? Really, I think they are the weaker sex for sure!! In the prison system in California, there are a multitude of Men's prisons and only a couple of Women's. You're definitely right about the cross training. I ran that 4 miles in the Triathlon last year (no practice) and I was sore for a week!!! Can ride a century on a bike and not be sore at all.

Tracy, I'm with you about thinking that muscle is really not that easy to put on, well it isn't for me anyway. I think what we see a lot of the time is muscle retention. I like my leaner arms better now than when I was doing P90X and lifting heavier. Re: calorie burn on the bike, mine is always low. I did Cardio Coach #5 yesterday and my total calorie burn was 398, around 70 minutes of riding and my average speed including the level 1 and 2 rests was 17.8 mph. I just don't get those big calorie burns. I'd love to burn 500 calories at 12 mph LOL!!! Of course, how do we know what is the real calorie burn. I have a Polar and it asks for Gender, weight and age. Don't think I'll lose the toenail. The bottom of the nail is a little purple but probably only about an 1/8th of an inch. It's still sore and I keep bumping it clumsily on things. Hope your situation with FIL is better. Is your DH getting some better sleep?

Sandra, I'll have to check out that February rotation again. You are doing so well on it!!! I think TTOM is kind of my power mode too. Won't be starting until next week. Think I've had a bike time trial during each one of them too. Won't be doing a time trial next Tuesday as we'll still be camping.

Got to run and see if the brats are done now.

Jeanette

Jeanette, I have a PR agency with 8 people right now, soon to become 10. I'm actually not a single mom anymore. I was for 3 years, having gone through a terrible very bad no good divorce from husband #1 almost 7 years ago now... but have been happily married to DH for going on 4 years. Other than having to deal with his oldest daughter, who was also the source of stress in his first marriage (thankfully she's married now) we are very, very happy together. Woo hoo!

Traci, it's Donny Osmond's son, Don, whose joining us again starting August 6. He's great - I'll be glad to have him back.

Jeanette, your eating sounds really good. Sounds a lot like what my ideal diet is as well (so long as I actually DO it)

I agree on muscle retention. Glad to have it, anyway I can get it!

Cheryl

Yay! I can flush the toilets and take a shower again!

Jeanette-X: I knew I forgot someone! This is what happens when I don't go back and read prior personals. Sorry! You know I love you!:* You just STOP with the lazy doubles! Until I can ride 100 miles, I still win!!!:p LOL about spelling around the dogs. We have to spell car and ride around Baby. Sorry to hear about your toe too! OUCH! Glad you mentioned hardibacker board. At first, I thought you meant green board when you mentioned cement board. I wanted to shout NOOOOO! I see I didn't need to do that. :) Don't you hate running out of materials in the middle of progress! Thankfully, we have a Home Depot (my 2nd home) 5 minutes away from us. I sometimes think we spend more time shopping there than actually doing any work here. Phil is a mess! His whole body is feeling old and sore. Like your toe, he smashed his pinky finger. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not infected with e coli. However, it is cute watching him eat sticking out his pinky finger. ;-) Are you going away this weekend? I'll be gone too. I'm planning on taking dd's Trek up to State College. We'll be riding in between walking the Arts Festival. I won't buy anything. Most of the stuff is EXPENSIVE! Also, I don't have the room to hang anything since dd started taking art classes a couple of years ago.

Cheryl: Oh, I didn't realize you remarried. It must have been tough being a step mother when she was younger. I don't know how Phil does it. But, the boys listen to him more than me. And, I shout louder! Maybe, that's why. ;-) How cool to be so closely associated with Donny and Marie Osmond. Best wishes for your new weight goals. I'd love to decrease body fat while dropping a couple more pounds. But, I'm not willing to watch my diet. I have no self control when it comes to cravings. The more I try to stick to clean foods, the more I crave the junk!! It gets so bad that I actually eat worse when trying to diet. sigh.

Debra-X: Okay, the more I read The Southern Belle Primer, the more I see how those belles rubbed off on me. I remember moving to PA during my 11th grade year and being shocked that there weren't any charitable highschool clubs like the Keyettes, Anchor, Wheelettes, etc.. When I asked the principal about it, she said that they didn't want to divide the students against one another. What smack was she talking?!!!! LOL Luckily, Phil finished the sewer pipes. I was going to ship you my laundry. ;-)

Well, I'm going to pamper Phil. I took him out for a steak dinner tonight. He's feels like he's aged 5 years today.

Sweet Dreams!
Wendy
